International App Store Control

I am currently in one of the countries with out App store access and can not access the App store to buy items. I have read post about this where excuses are given saying that it is due to goverment relations, trading laws and service..... I agree this can be the case but not for an unlimmited amount of time. (5-10 years)??? Why not invest a bit of capital and make things happen. I am sure the returns will be worth the investment. The community that are developing app's will also be happy to have a larger market. The Alternative operating system looks more-and-more attractive every day.
If you sell a product that indicate (suggest) that the online store is part of your product and service, is it then not wrong to deny that service?
Even the free programs are blocked/denied/control.
Sounds more to me like stagnation than problems. Problems can be solved....

This is a Mac user to user technical forum. No one here can tell you why there is no Mac App Store where you live. Apple is not here and does not respond to complaints like this one that you have posted. You are free to believe or not believe any ideas folks offer as to why there is no MAS in your country, but threats to become a Windows box user carries no weight here. Folks will just laugh at you.

  • Finding App URL on international App store (that you can't access)

    Morning DPS'ers
I need to find the app store URL for a published app that is available in a different App store (I am in the UK, and am trying to find the URL for the app in, say, the Japanese app store, or the American one). I obviously can't get access to these as they are only available locally.
    Any pointers?
    Thanks
    M

    Hi Steven
Thanks – the app is slightly different though: there are a few different versions (different languages or content depending on region).

  • App store control panel on iphone

I opened my app store today, and the toolbar at the bottom is all messed up, it goes featured, search, categories, and then top 25. Is that just the way the app store is now? Its kinda bothering me.

What iphone and version IOS are you using.
Mine is the same as Rudegar

  • International App Store Differences

It seems there could be some differences between the apps that are available on the App Store in different countries.
I was under the impression there was both a Google and an eBay App (which I was particularly looking forward to), but neither of these are listed on the UK store. Are they currently available on the USA store?

I think it was a network or localisation issues as I successfully managed to install NewNetWire.

  • Apple ID: U.S. credit card in Dutch App Store

I know there's more of you out there in a similar situation.  I'm an American living in the Netherlands permanently.  I maintain my bank accounts in the U.S. including my credit cards.  I created an Apple ID for the Dutch store using the one Dutch credit card I had.  Apparently something has happened to that card because my last app payment didn't process so now it's asking me to enter new credit card info.  Now, the credit cards I have were issued from a U.S. bank (USAA) but I had to put my foreign address on them for billing.  I use these cards in many places over here but for some reason iTunes won't accept them.  In fact, when I tried to create a U.S. iTunes/App store account with my U.S. credit cards, it wouldn't let me...it pushed me to the Dutch one because of the Dutch billing address.
I really wish there could be one central International App Store, especially since Apple products are international.
I'm looking for any suggestions here.  Maybe I've overlooked something in the setup of my accounts that would allow me to setup a U.S. iTunes account with a U.S. credit card that happens to have a foreign address.
    Dale

You are required to provide credit card details to download apps be it free or paid.
Nothing will be deducted from your credit card if the app is free.
There will be a authorizing hold of US$1.00 to verify your account information. It will be credited back to your account later.

  • I can't use Applications I bought on App store, I can't login: unknown error

OK, I'm TOTALLY fed up with Apples App store for OS X. I freaking bought some SW and about every 3 months it gets confused and de-authorizes my using that program.  It says "Unknown error"  I've rebooted it, restarted it, updated my SW and it still doesn't work.  I can't access Apple tech support because the App store is not one of the choices on the Apple website.  If you're going to make the App store control all the applications, you should make it freaking work.
Am I really going to have to go to the Genius bar again to get this fixed?
*** Apple? you need to make this work better. (Works great on iOS!?)
    --Andrew

OK finally went to the Genius bar.  All the stuff in the support forums was not useful.  What we did was turn off the firewall as a check - that didn't help, so I restarted it.
Then, with the genius, we went in both the /Library/LaunchAgents & /Library/LauchDaemons folders and put all the stuff that was non-Apple (IE had been added by other applications) into folders called Disabled, it's a pain because you have to copy, then delete the files, but it looks like Citrix or something like that was blocking or interfering with the application.
    Good luck!

  • Since upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite Mail, Spotlight,Mission Control and App-Store don´t work correctly. Is it possible to return to Mavericks?

Since upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite Mail, Spotlight, Mission Control and App-Store don´t work correctly. Is it possible to return to Mavericks?

If you have an external drive with an OS X Time Machine backup, then do restore of your last backup. If you have an external drive  with a bootable clone of your previous system, you can boot to that clone and re-clone the OS X on your external drive back to your Mac's internal drive.
If you do not have either of these available, then the reverting/restoring process becomes much more complicated and involves purchasing an external drive and backing up your current system to that drive, then erasing, reformatting your hard drive and now your only options to installng an OS X version is doing a clean install of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, then upgrading, again, to either OS X 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion. OS X 10.9 Mavericks is no longer available for download and Apple has not made OS X 10.9 Mavericks available in any other form to be able to redownload and install.
Maybe it would be better to explain in detail your issues with Yosemite to see if any of us here can help you with your difficulties.
I am not running or using Yosemite, so I cannot help you with your Yosemite issues,
There are others here who can help you with Yosemite.
    Good Luck.

  • Mac App Store - page is inaccessible due to your Parental Control

Whenever I start the app store I get the following message on the Featured, Top Charts, and Purchased tabs.
defaultButtonok message This page is inaccessible due to your Parental Control settings. okButtonStringOK
If I try to sign in the wheel next to the account just spins and spins... It never connects. The Apple ID and PW are confirmed good in all the other apple apps and sites.
I am logged in with an administrator account - so no parental controls.
All parental controls are disabled in iTunes
It did not work in 10.6.6 or 10.6.7

Sorry let me be more clear...
No parental controls are enabled on the system preferences as there are no accounts that are not administrators.
In iTunes - no parental controls either.
The iTunes account works without fail.

  • I have a new iPad Air and in using the App Store, it seems frozen with an app that I didn't want.   I cannot look at other apps in the store or anything.  How do I unfreeze it?  Something equivalent to Control Alt Delete with Window.

I have an iPad Air just acquired yesterday.   The App Store seems to be frozen and I have on idea how to undo it.  It is as if i clicked on an app to download and it came up but it is frozen.  I cannot get rid of it or go to anything else in the App Store.   I tried downloading that app and opening it - didn't help.  Guess what I am looking for is the equivalent of Control +Alt+Delete in Windows.  Thanks.

Double tap your home button and open apps will appear above as smaller screen shots.  With your finger swipe the open app upwards and it will fully close.
The cntrl/alt/delete option on an iPad is a reboot and to do so, press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.

  • Internal Error in App Store, only one section though?

Is anyone else getting this? http://i57.tinypic.com/28lq58z.png. I noticed that some apps needed updated, so I went to the App Store. Every part of it was working fine, except when I went under the "Updates" tab, that Internal error came up. I have an iPod touch 4g btw, & I've restarted it 4 times with that same Internal Error notice, or "Unable to connect to iTunes Store". I have on idea why this is happening, & saw that someone else had this problem today too. Is the Updates section of the App Store down? And last, does anyone know if it's possible to update the apps through my iTunes on my laptop? I've already sent Apple an e-mail about this, they should be replying soon. I just want to know if this is happening for others too, or just me.

There have been a few other reports of this today. Contact iTunes support:

  • TS4185 I have downloaded facetime from the App store and I keep receiving this message - An internal FaceTime error occurred.  There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again.  Please help!

I have downloaded facetime from the App store and I keep receiving this message - An internal FaceTime error occurred.  There was a problem with FaceTime. You need to quit and open FaceTime again.  Please help!

This error message could result from an incorrect setting for date and time, or an operating system which does not have the latest updates installed.  It's a good idea to have your location setting on automatic.  Turn on the wi fi in your mac for a minute or so, to allow it to automatically search for your present location.  Do this even though you have the correct time Date settings displayed.

  • Use App store internationally??

    Hello,
I bought a 3rd Gen iPod Touch for my uncle who lives in Greece. My question is that is he able to download apps through the App Store on the iPod using an international account or he has to have a USA account?

I have a similar question that the terms of service doesn't quite answer.
My mother has just purchased an iPod Touch over in the UK, but she lives in Spain. She has a Sterling credit card with an off shore (Isle of Man) bank which is British, but is billed to her home in Spain. She also has new netbook with her whilst she's in the UK which we plan to put itunes on and get her setup.
Obviously the IP address of where she sets up iTunes will determine the 'home' store, so in theory if we set up on the UK, it should stick with the UK store once she gets home. However, will she be able to purchase anything on the UK store in the UK or in Spain with her British credit card which is billed to Spain?
If she can purchase from the UK store whilst in the UK, will she still be able to once back in Spain?
We have been advised that UK itunes gift cards should work, but still, will they once back in Spain where the IP address is different?
If none of the above works, she'll just have to make do with the Spanish iTunes store, which obviously wouldn't be the easiest of things to use, not being fluent in Spanish!

  • Internal server error accessing 'Updates' in OS X App Store

    Hi,
I just tried to access the App Store/Updates to update to 10.10.3, etc. and I get 'Internal Server Error - Read' with a few additional lines of text.  Is the server just overloaded?
    Regards, Patrick

Triple-click the word "telnet" in the line below on this page to select the whole line:
    telnet swscan.apple.com 443
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You should almost instantly get three lines of output below what you entered, the last of which is this:
    Escape character is '^]'.
If there's no output within ten seconds, consider that a failure. Otherwise, please post the output in a reply. You can then quit Terminal.

  • App Store Quality Control

A quick review of the existing threads reveals a pattern of application crashes... does anybody know if there is any sort of quality control going on to get an application on the App Store?
I have had numerous applications, some free and some paid, that end up crashing on launch or shortly thereafter that have caused me to either have to re-download the application or completely restore my iPhone.
Given that the App Store is the only way for developers to release their applications and there isn't a viable option for being able to try apps before we buy do we have any guarantee as the the quality of the applications or are we merely paying beta testers?

There is no regular pattern as to what is even causing these crashes SOME people seem to be having. I say some people because not everyone is experiencing any crashes. I have 36 apps installed on two white iPhones and I have no crashes. I'm not sure if Apple will allow refunds for apps that crash or not.

  • App Store Updates - Internal Server Error - Read

    Hi everybody,
In the last three weeks my MacOSX Mavericks started to behave abnormally while checking for updates in App Store. My system is a Mac Mini (Late 2012) running OS X 10.9.4.
The use case is as follows: I open App Store and go to Updates. The entire window (almost) hangs for a while (up to one or two minutes) and then I get a message like the following below:
    Internal Server Error - Read
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Reference #3.c148212e.1407869740.2e8e86e
       or
    Reference #3.67020ecf.1407870503.1c3dbb42
Is it something I should do on my side about it?
    Thank you.

Same issue but on OS X 10.9.5 (13F34)
    Internal Server Error - Read
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Reference #3.cf48212e.1426104997.17ac57e
I tried the suggestion to sign out of the App Store and back in. Restarted as well.
    This didn't help.
