Internet Explorer Message Box ignored by e-Tester

Hi all,
On a webpage we have the following link with a javascript: "a href="javascript:if(confirmDeleteCheckboxes(document.listForm, 'action_balance[', 'delete', 'Do you really want to delete the selected balance(s)? All data will be lost!'))document.listForm.submit();""
When this link is clicked a message box opens (see attached screenshot). When this message box is clicked (no matter if OK or Abbrechen) e-Tester does not record this click at all. Of course when the script is played back it does not work since this click is missing.
Has anyone an idea how to solve this issue or is this a bug in e-Tester?
Thanks in advance.
...stefan

Hello stefank,
Have you tried using eTester Dialog Manager to capture this message box?
It is underneath eTester Admin tab....I don't know if it will work for sure for you, but help on line says "The Dialog Manager lets you specify actions to perform if an unexpected dialog box appears during playback of a Visual Script". It worked for us once we defined caption, text and action. You can also click on the Point tab within Dialog Manager to help identify for this pop-up window what should the Caption and Text be for you..
I hope it works.
Good luck!

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer message

Receiving a Microsoft Internet Explorer messages after updating a request.
We made a change to a particular service in our integration environment and deployed these changes to model and then to production.  After the deploy, we found that each time someone wants to update a service in a requisition, after they click the update button, a Microsoft Internet Explorer messages appears:
You have either changed data or left mandatory fields blank on this page.  Your changes will be lost unless you click Update before preoceeding.  Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.
The changes we made were to a particular service but the message is now appearing with all services.
    We are using IE 6

I found our own solution.  A developer was testing a script in our lower environment that applys to all forms, and when we deployed new services to model and production, the script automatically got deployed.

  • Mea Culpa - Internet Explorer now renders my iWeb 2 test site correctly?

After umpteen server tweaks I finally got my iWeb 2 test site uploaded
    http://www.mjweber.com/mjwredsite/mjweber/welcome.html
It displayed as designed in Safari on my MBP. I then fired up XP in Parallels and loaded the site in Internet Explorer. I didn't expect it to work but it did. Now I'm really stymied!
I've had numerous compatibility issues with iWeb 2 and IE in the past week paralleled here by hundreds of other posts here. Now, when I finally upload the site, it suddenly works?
Either the Internet gods are playing with me or the IE incompatibility stems from launching a published iWeb 2 folder from a local XP hard drive. That's where my navigation menus didn't display. What else can I say? I'm going to have a drink.
I'd appreciate independent site validations by anyone not using Safari or OS X... Linux, Unix, Windows, Netscape, IE, etc. Thanks!
    http://www.mjweber.com/mjwredsite/mjweber/welcome.html

Hi thanks for the advice, the text is centred vertically , left aligned and there is plenty of space at the end. I will try increasing width/height but not sure if that will help as box is already much bigger than text.
In fact it works perfectly on another web page ...thats what surprising ....even the html for the two pages is identical from what we can see!
    Take a look at
www.cibsys.com/cibsys1/index.html on the UK site and run down the various pages on the left side to see what happens (if you have IE on a PC). On the PC on some pages perhaps 30% eg workflow services the menu on the left fails to draw correctly leaving the text un readable.
    Thanks

  • Close Internet Explorer message

I have attempted this download a dozen times.... keep getting the Close internet Explorer at th 50% installation mark..... I have attempted all the fixes mentioned on this site:  close Internet Explorer by ending the process..... saving the file to download file and rebooting..... nothing works....Extremely frustrated.... an 800 number would be nice...... Instead of signing up, giving email address, typing my question/message twice...... and who knows if a resolution will be given................

  • Close internet explorer message first when installing CS3 from disk.

When I attempt to install CS3 from my disk onto my new computer (with Windows 8) I keep getting an error message to close Internet Explorer first.  It is already closed.  What can I do?

    1.  restart your computer, then install.
    2.  you may need to use compatibility mode to install.
    3.  you may need to right click the setup file and click "run as administrator".

  • Internet Explorer stops responding while using CodedUI test builder to record a test

    Hi,
    Here is my problem description:
Internet explorer (9, 10, 11) stops responding while using CodedUI Test Builder to record a test scenario in IE. I am not able to input any values or click any buttons or perform any action on IE while recording a test on a remote desktop (visual studio
and IE are both on remote machine). Also tried by directly accessing the machine but no luck. The test builder says 'could not record the last action...'
A hand-coded script plays back fine without any problem.
    System Details:
    OS: Window 7 Professional with SP1 64-bit
Browser: IE 11 (tried with IE 9/10 also with no luck)
    Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate Edition
I have tried the following from my past similar experiences.
    1. Checked that I am recording on 32 bit IE
    2. Tried with IE 9/10/11
    3. Reset IE to factory settings
I will appreciate if someone can share some thoughts on the likely problem(s) and any recommended solution.
    Regards,
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
    >>'could not record the last action...'.
Actually it means that the coded UI test builder doesn't record the actions, I met this issue before when my machine is so busy, so I will get this issue if I record the steps so quickly.
I'm not very sure that how you connect to your remote desktop and record the actions, but like the above actions, we have to make sure that the steps were recorded in the Recorded Action window like A.
If not, please delete the steps from the no-recorded steps and re-record them again, maybe you could record the steps slowly.
I doubt that the remote connection impacts the recorded actions performance.
    Best Regards,
    Jack

  • How to stop internet explorer dialog box

Hi all. I'm new here. I've just added a flash image ( a moving one ) to my web page. It's like a moving logo. I've used this code
    <object width="150" height="95"> <param name="movie" value="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback.swf"></param><param name="flashvars" value=src=http://localhost/school/logovid.flv&controlBarMode=none&controlBarAutoHide=false&playButto nOverlay=false&loop=true&autoPlay=true&scaleMode=stretch"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="150" height="95" flashvars="src=http://localhost/school/logovid.flv&controlBarMode=none&controlBarAutoHide=false&playButto nOverlay=false&loop=true&autoPlay=true&scaleMode=stretch"></embed></object>
to get it working. It's fine in safari, firefox, chrome and flock. But in opera I get a dialog box asking if it's ok to connect  to ftp.adobe.com and then the image doesn't display. Also in IE I get a dialog asking me if it's ok to allow something.
I can live with the opera problem because it's a minority but I really need to resolve the IE issue because so many people use it.
    Any help very much appreciated.
    Marcus.

    Hi Mike,
    >>Basically i want all users to get restricted to IE9.
Internet Explorer 10 will be available as an “Important” update through the Automatic Update feature of Windows Update. Users of Windows 7 Service Pack 1, who have opted to
download and install updates automatically through Windows Update (recommended setting), will automatically be upgraded to Internet Explorer 10.
However, we can prevent users from upgrading to IE 10 via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) or System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
Regarding how to prevent users from upgrading to IE10 or IE11, the following two articles can be referred to for more information.

  • Internet Explorer message "refer to popup window"

    Hi everyone,
Value some help please. When visiting my work's website with Internet Explorer on a new Lumia 625, the message "refer to popup window" appears after I log in. Unfortunately, unlike using a desktop or laptop, no new tab appears. A new tab does appear when I log on with an Android device, so I know it is possible for a mobile phone. Grateful in advance for ideas.
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew29,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions.
You can try changing the website preference from the mobile version to desktop version under settings> swipe left to applications and select Internet Explorer. Also, try downloading another web browser from the Store and see if it works.

  • Problem with Internet Explorer message "has stopped working" message, after exiting.

Is there a way to eliminate this message?

This is a forum for Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8 (Windows Store app with "Modern" UI).  If you have any problems with Adobe Reader XI (dektop app with classic UI), you can get help from the Adobe Reader forum.
It is usually a good idea to uninstall an older version of Adobe Reader first (just like you did) and install a newer version.
In case you have any problems uninstalling the desktop version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat, you could use the Acrobat "cleaner" tool.

  • My verticle Spry menu will not work in Internet Explorer

I know a lot of people have posted about similar issues, and I've researched multiple "solutions" on multiple forums for something that will work, but nothing has solved the problem so far.
Here is a link to the prototype homepage: http://www.abrasivesales.com/indexnew.html
Everything looks great on my mac when opened in Firefox or Safari, however when opened on Internet Explorer on a PC, the menu ceases to be verticle, instead extending horizontally past the end of the screen.  Also, the menu items adopt a white background color, and none of the submenu items will appear when their parent menu item is rolled over.
PLEASE HELP....this issue has kept me from launching the site for a week now, and my superiors are wondering why this problem is taking me longer than it did to build the homepage in the first place, so I'd love to look like less of an idiot.
I assuming this is a CSS issue, so I've posted my CSS code below:

I solved one of my own problems.  It turns out I still had a setting for width set to "auto" instead of a pixel amount.  So now my menu displays normally and my submenus are no longer invisible.
One one tab, "Products", I set the top at -430px, which internet explorer seems to ignore.  I'm so close!  I'll search for the answer but any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Horizontal Menu Bar - Not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer

My issues are occuring in Internet Explorer 8 and 7, haven't tested earlier versions.
I am currently using DW CS5, Spry 1.6.1
The website (not yet complete) is at www3.sympatico.ca/mitchell.richard/
The menu bar as viewed in Firefox is correct. In Internet Explorer the menu bar is left justified, hides visited links, and lists horizontal menu items in reverse order.
I work for a Women's Shelter in Canada, as the Information Systems Manager. We don't have the funds to hire someone to build a website and it was decided and I quote "You know computers, you can buld the website". I couldn't get them to understand the analogy that just because a Neurosurgeon can use a scalpel he isn't a Cardiothoracic Surgeon... needless to say, I am floudering on this menu bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The red coloured line causes your menu to be displayed the wrong way round in FF. IE shows the menu as you have listed it with Contact Us as the first item.
    Advice:
change the float to left so that the listed items start on the left hand side
change the listed items in the order that you want them to appear.

  • CSS wont work in Internet Explorer

HI, i've probably just domne something stupid here, but i
have a website which looks fine in every browser, but when it comes
to Internet explorer it totally ignores any CSS i have set up so
    the page looks stupid
Can anyone enlighten me on this phenomenon please? lol
I hate IE. things would b so much easier if Internet Explorer
    didnt exist

When you find lists like that getting too long, it means -
    1. You are not using CSS optimally, and
    2. You are using too many fonts

  • Problem with ExternalInterface.call and Internet Explorer

    Hi, I´m developing a site, (
    www.gen-studio.com/avelart2
), and I´m using a swf to display a set of thumbs that when
clicked show an item and its description on the browser, those
items might be images or video, everything works fine with the
    images.
And actually it works fine with the videos too, when using
Firefox, but when I test the page on Internet explorer it just
    doesn’t work!
On principle let me describe how it´s supposed to work,
a thumbnail when clicked sends an id number to javaScript using
    ExternalInterface.call(“myFunction”,myId); -I´m
    using AS3 for the swf´s-
the javaScript file has already loaded (ever since$(
document).ready) a XML file which uses to match the id with a file
and the description, if the item to show it´s a video, then it
creates a variable which holds a string with the proper html to
embed a swf (a swf movie player that resides just next to the HTML
file), when loaded, the swf movie player uses
ExternalInterface.call() to ask for the source of the video that
has to play, and that function is as follows:
    setVideo: function(){
    alert("hola");
    return comun.miVideo;
(The alert(“hola”); is just to test that the
function is being called), which it is, but it returns null as a
value instead of the proper string, and this happens only on
internet Explorer, but works correctly on Firefox.
I´ve been reading all day about the subject and found a
few interesting things, which though have made me narrow my
problem, they haven´t just provided me with a solution, what I
    found so far:
-I must have in account flash security issues: Checked (my
    actionScript follows:)
    import fl.video.*;
    import flash.external.ExternalInterface;
    flash.system.Security.allowDomain("*");
    var vid:FLVPlayback = this.miPlayer;
    vid.source =
    flash.external.ExternalInterface.call("comun.setVideo");
-ExternalInterface and Internet explorer don´t work
properly when tested locally: Checked (I have a server on my PC and
I´m testing the site as well in the above direction).
-The object tag holding the swf must have a proper id
    attribute: Checked.
-It´s super important the way the object tag is formed:
Checked, and I also tested the tag separately (I put it directly in
the HTML instead of adding it via javaScript) and it worked as
expected in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, which leads me to
    believe:
-I read somewhere that if you add the object tag by using
innerHTML or appendChild, returning values from javaScript to swf
won´t work, but I couldn´t find an explanation nor a
    solution.
Well, as I said now I´ve been looking all day for an
answer, so I really hope you can help me or give me some advice on
the subject, thank you so much for your time!

Hi! it solved itself !! (nahh, I wish), but it indeed had a
solution, it was something quite simple, and I don´t really
understand why it was not working in the first place, but here is
    the thing:
I´m learning jquery and this is the first proyect
I´m officially using it, so I was using
$('#myDIV').append("string"); to embed the swf, (and it was working
perfectly on Firefox), so since I had narrowed my problem to those
lines, I decided to try some good-old-fashioned-javaScript and
changed it for: var myDiv =
    document.getElementById('thatParticularDiv'); myDiv.innerHTML =
('string'); and it worked both in Firefox and IE !!!!!! :)
I´m quite happy about it, and if someone knows
what´s the issue with my jquery approach I would love to hear
    it. THANKS !!

You can try the Firefox web browser to see if you can then connect. Firefox is a better, faster, more secure browser anyway and will prompt you to transfer all your Favorites from IE.
    Firefox Download
    or
Try the free Fix IE utility.

    or
You can try uninstalling IE8 then reinstalling it.
    Uninstall IE8
I would take 'Y2ken's' advice and try Firefox.  I have used it for years with XP Pro and Ubuntu, Linux.  It definitely is more responsive.  Most of what is in IE8 was developed in FF several years ago.  FF was the first browser with tabs, for instance.

  • Slideshow not working in Internet Explorer 8

I have a slideshow with transparent PNG's sliding over a background image, and everything works fine in all browsers, except Internet Explorer (shock). I have just tested it in IE 8, and instead of generating a horizontal slideshow, IE just shows all the slides placed over each other.
As shown in the low-res picture below, the four PNG's are placed over each other. And because all the slides are shown at once, the next and previous buttons doesn't work.
    What is wrong?

Given your design and the fact JPG images are generally about 1/5th the size of the equivalent PNG image, the best approach is to put a solid white background on the images in the slideshow. It will improve the page load time (because opaque images can be saved as JPG) and it will avoid the many bugs with IE7 and IE8 related to transparent PNGs and transparency in general. (Muse has a lot of workaround for these IE bugs, but it appears your combination of transparency is one Muse doesn't automatically provide a workaround for, yet.)
