Intregration Scenario in Repository
Hello all-
I am very new to XI and i don't know if my question really makes sense,is it compulsary to create integration scenario for every collaboration that we plan, the reason being i have created all the message interfaces, mappings in my Integration Repository ,So when i want to do the configuration of my objects i cannot see them in the configurator,So could someone take the pain of guiding me.
Thank you in advance
Venkat
Hi Venkat,
there are two tools in Integration directory to create your scenarios. These are more of a wizard.
1. Transfer Intgration scenario from Integrtion Repository
For this you need your Integration scenario to be created correctly and when you run this wizard you actually pull the Integration scenario in the Integration directory. you can map the communication channel and Business system to the required systems.
2. Configuration wizard
This tool is a wizard for creating your Recevier determination, RA, Sender agreement and Interface determination. for this tool you do not need the Integration scenario
It is not mandatory to use any of these tools to configure your scenario.
All you have to do for configuring your scenario is
1. Create Business system/business service
2. Create communication channel
3. Create receiver detrmication
4. Create Interface determination
5. Sender agreement
6. Receiver agreement

Transfer scenario from repository to directory
Hi all,
I have develop a integration scenario in repository but when I buil ma configuration scenario in directory using the transfer option I can assing business services (step 2 Assing services) but I can´t do step 3 Configure Connection. In "Connections from the Service Assignment" apears the sender business system and receiver business system and actions but the buttons to create collaboration agreements and channels are disabled.
How can I fix it?
Thanks.Antonio,
Have you selected the Interface Mapping in IS when you pressed the create connection button for the actions. Go to IR and check if you have given the Interface mapping name under interfaces TAB.
Also create the CC first, so that while transfering the IS from IR to ID when it asks for CC, you can proved it.

Deleting scenario from Integration Repository.
Dear All,
I was having one scenario in the Dev server which was having all the objects in it like namespace, DT, MT, MI, MM & IM. After testing now I want to delete the complete scenario from Repository. I have deleted all the objects like DT, MT, MI, MM & IM. But when I am deleting the namespace its giving me an error that delete the objects first. I am checking the objects and none of them is existing as I have already deleted them. I have even activated the scenario after deletion of the objects.
When I am deleting the namespace then its giving me an error that 2 objects are already exisitng and they will be deleted irrevocably.
Please guide me on how to delete the complete scenario fro IR.
Regards,
jainHi nishu,
First activate the two default data types(exchane ,log) thats created during any namespace creation and then try to delete the namespace...it should be deleted now...!!!
If u still face the problem!!!
click on the namespace and chek "where-used"..then u can see ...which objects are still associated with it....after deleting activate the changelist..then...delete the namespace!!!

Unable to Load the Integration scenario into the Integration directory
Hi All,
I am new to using SAP XI.
Require your help on the following issue.
I have built an Integration scenario, added Component Type: Product Version, inserted actions and connections.
I did check for any errors. I found no errors.
When I am trying to load this scenario into the Integration directory its not showing up the scenario in the popup.
Navigation:
Directory > tools> Transfer scenario from repository
The status of Integration Scenario in the builder shows as
"Being processed".
I created the scenario 2 days back.
Can some one help me in this?
Regards,
MeherHi All,
Thanks to all who helped me.
michal, divija : Can you please let me know in details how to activate Business Scenario?
I did not create any business process.
Sridhar: I did releases some locks on my process, no luck.
Can you please explain me in more details?
Should I have a process build for my Integration scenario to be activated?

Doubts in File to RFC scenario
<u><b>Scenario we are working on:</b></u>
Legacy System -> Flat File -> XI2.0 -> RFC -> SAP R/3 470 ( WAS 620 )
<u><b>What we have done till now:</b></u>
1. Created technical system for XI server and the SAP 620 ( target system )
2. Created business system for XI Server and target system
3. Created a software product for legacy system and the corresponding technical system and the business system
4. Defined the business scenario in Repository including Actions, Message Interface, Message Type, Data Type (for source file), Imported RFC signature from target system, message mappings and message interfaces.
5. Configured the file adapter.
6. Configured business scenario in Integration Directory including interface determination and receiver end points
<u><b>Where we are stuck:</b></u>
1. Currently I have created the entire set of objects under the new software component I created for source system. I want to know how to decide under which software component should I create the design objects, e.g under the software component for source system, or under the software component for target system or am I supposed to create a new product altogether including all the software components in my scenario.
2. What is the significance/dependency of namespace in the design process?
3. I have configured the inbound file adapter (attached is the configuration file). How do I integrate it with the Integration server? In other words where to specify the link between my business scenario the file adapter. How do they talk to each other?
4. We are not able to configure the RFC adapter. Can we get a configuration file for a working adapter? Are there any pre-requisites for the RFC adapter configuration? Also once configured how will it talk to Integration Server?
5. Is it possible to use proxies on Integration server in our scenario? Our XI system is installed on WAS 620 with J2EE 620 and the target system is also WAS 620.
6. Is it possible to send email notification from XI in case or any errors e.g while accepting the file, while mapping, or while passing to target systemHi Satinder,
Below are the answers for your questions:
Regards
Prasad
Netweaver RIG-XI
SAP Labs LLC.
Ans1: If you are creating a new sceanrio, you can create a product and a software component in SLD and import the software component into Int.Repository. You can define 1 namespace or mutliple namespaces under this SC.
It all depends on how are desiging your objects in SLD, Int Rep etc. This can be done in various ways.
Ans2:
Namespaces Definition:
Namespaces in the Integration Builder are namespaces in the sense of XML namespaces that are sub-divided further into semantic units within the Integration Builder software component versions. Objects of a namespace can only be shipped as part of the corresponding software component version and not separately.
XML Namespace Definition: An XML namespace is a collection of names, identified by a URI reference , which are used in XML documents as element types and attribute names
RFC2396
IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) RFC 2396: Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI): Generic Syntax
Use
The following types of namespaces exist in SAP Exchange Infrastructure:
· Repository namespaces are displayed in the Integration Builder (Design) navigation tree. They are all assigned to a software component version but are used differently:
¡ Repository namespaces are used to avoid naming conflicts. For objects of the same object type, it is not possible to have duplicate object names within a repository namespace. In other words, a repository namespace is a quantity in the Integration Repository in which the object names are unique.
¡ Software component versions are used to define shipment units. It is not possible to ship objects in a namespace (business scenario objects, business process objects, interface objects, mapping objects, and adapter objects) on their own. Instead, they are shipped as a part of the relevant software component version.
Although repository namespaces are assigned to the software component version in the navigation tree, the software component version does not affect the uniqueness of the object names.
· XML namespaces are used as identifiers for message instances or customer-specific fields in the instance. You can specify XML namespaces as an attribute of (fault) message types and data type enhancements.
· Namespaces in the System Landscape Directory (SLD), which have nothing to do with repository or XML namespaces (see: Namespace).
· Internal namespaces, which are required in message instances, for example. The internal namespace for fields in the message header is: http://sap.com/exchange/MessageFormat, for example. These namespaces are of no further interest for SAP XI users.
Ans3: Check the Adpater Documentation. In your case, the legacy system will be creating a file in the file system where the file adpater is installed. You have to mention this path in your FA configuration. Once the FA is running, The file is polled automatically. The parameter defined in the config file will send direct the message to XI server. For Ex:
XMB.TargetURL=http://:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Ans4: Check the documentation for RFC Adapter Config. Once configured it will talk to XI via JCO. send me an email if you have more questions.
Ans5: Yes you can use Proxies as your target system is was620.
Ans6: this is possible in XI-3.0 -SP04 as the SMTP adpater is available. You have to model the message in XI-3.0 when to send an email message. -
hi,
i'm creating an integration scenario inthe repository. B2B. the scenari has two action one which picks a file and pother which drops a file. i'm creating the applicaiton component as template. after doing the entire configuration when i import it in directory and when i'm tryin assign communcation channel for the first action its showing communaction channel not required. but it is required. i've created the party, service and communcatio channle in the directory. and the sender party and sender service is being properly assigned from the integration scenario editor. anybody can suggest something.. please.
regards,
Rahul.Hi Rahul,
it is necessary to add the required interfaces into the /servicesparties (including BPM service) in the directory, which are connected to the process.
receiver agreements are not stand alone but connected to interfaces.
Possibly this will solve your problem!

SCENARIO CREATION IN INTEGRATION SCENARIO
hi
I have one sender and two receivers. I am creating integration scenario in repository. in integration scenario creation i have to create three swim lanes or
two swim lanes? can i add both receivers in one swim lane? and how will i made
connection between sender and both receivers?
can any one please help me?
thanks®ards
venkatHi Venky,
I guess you will be sending the same data to both receivers.
So you do not have to use 3 swim lanes. Create only 2 swim lane.
1. One for Sender
2. Second one for Receiver (no need to think here for 2 receivers, think it when you do receiver determination)
Now, Making a connection will be very easy, just select the ACTION of Sender and Receiver and right click and say create connections.
For creating and working with integration scenario just go through the below link:

It could be because when your scenario is getting triggered there is no current user profile available. You will have to check your scenario definition segments that you have defined and the conditions when it is getting triggered.
ATG scenarios are based on the concept of state machines. Scenario manager maintains state information for every individual profile going through each of the scenario segment and each user's state is stored in the profile repository in "scenarioInstances" property. "scenarioInstances" contains a set of individual scenario instances (repository items of type "individualScenario") which are currently associated with that user. "individualScenario" item has a subject property which points back to the "user" repository item. And in your case some segment of your scenario is getting triggered when subject is not available. -

How to change timestamp format in file receiver
Hi all,
I have a FILE to FILE scenario WITHOUT repository objects.
What I need to do is to add a time stamp at the end of the target file.
By default, the "Add timestamp" option in the file receiver communication channel makes the filename as *YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS-xxx
What I need to have is the date&time format as MMDDYY_HHMISS.
Are there any modules by default in SAP PI in which I can manipulate this stuff? Or is there other way to do this?
Thanks in advice!
Regards,
ClaudioHi Claudio
There is one posibility is that you add the time stamp in the message mapping in the parent level, with the function current Date and with one UDF with the function http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File.
You need too that the FCC have activate in the Advanced adapter File Name.
And one FCC Dinamical apointing at your ERP with the flag take Sender form Payload.

/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/05/25/xi-how-to-add-authorizations-to-repository-objects
when i click the change button in the repository objtct its not performing perticular role.
i was configured ExchangeProfile parametes and created new user and its roles.
Would you tell where i done mistake. according to This Blog.

Dynamically...
Hi Pals,
In each different scenarios we have to configure the SLD.
Now is there any method of configuring the XI dynamically using JAVA codings ..
In other words mapping, defingin communication channels, message and data type configuring,..can it be done other than using GUI (screen method)//
Regards
AKHi,
I am not sure if you could use java code to perform all the configuration needed for implementing a scenario and how feasible it would be.
However, if you are creating each and every configuration object (objects in Integration Directory) manually, then you could simplify this process by designing Integration Scenarios in Repository.
You could find more information on Integration Scenarios in following link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ae/fb72dc1d0fbf4391fba23b7e8a0d55/frameset.htm
Design of Integration Scenario would enable you to generate configuration objects directly by importing this scenario in Integration Directory. This could be done by clicking in menu bar Tools -> Import Integration Scenario from Repository. You would need to fill certain parameters and entire scenario would be created by system. This works really fine.
Thanks,
Bhavish

what are the roles we have in XI ?
Hi Durga prasad,
HI
XI Developer:
Starts from technical specification
Create design and configuration objects- execute unit tests
Support integration/stress tests
Document the developments
Responsibilities for a support project :
Responsibilities for a support project depends on Project.
But in general u have to Monitor SXMB_MONI, SMQ2, SMQ1 & RBW for Error Message. If there is any error u have to find the reason of error.
Then either u can resend it or u have to cancel it.
In IDOC scenarios most of the time Error comes bcoz IDOC comes with blank values for required Fileds & then Mapping fails........... in such cases u have to cancel that message & tell R3 ppl to resend the IDOC.
Then some times messages get stuck in queuesu have to resend them.

What is XI administrator's and Developer's actual job?
What is XI administrator's and Developer's actual job?
I am more towards XI administrator. Can you someone please tell me what's the actual job is?
Regards,
NS.Hi Narayanan,
The roles of Xi developer and administrator are distinguished. I'll mention some examples,
XI Administrator....
1. Installation and configuration of XI server.
2. Post installation steps of XI server.
3. Creating software Component and Software products in SLD.
4. Also creation of namespaces will come under the roles of admin, as in our enviornment developer does'nt have the rights to create a new namespaces . Developer files up a request form to Basis team and an Administrator does the creation.
5.Then there are many periodic activities like archiving of messages, deletion of messages , performance tuning if required, etc.
6.Creating Business system in SLD .
7. Assigning proper roles to individual user etc.
8. Also Creation of an XI Track in CMS to transport your objects is a task of XI Administrator.
XI developer.
1 XI developer deals with the Scenario specific Repository objects like creation of Data type , message type , message interface, mapping ,etc.
He is also responsible for the creating the configuration objects in ID.
Hope this helps you,
Yomesh
