Introduce new Payroll Area

Dear Experts
We are a Group of companies and using international payroll. There are few companies attached to one payroll area. Now there is a requirement for us to remove a particular company from existing payroll area and put it under a new payroll area.
My request is;
(a) What are the configurations to be done in order to set up a new payroll area ?
(b) How can I transfer the existing employees to this new payroll area ?
(c) Are there any consequences in doing so.

   Generation of Pay roll Periods , and setting up control record and activateing the Feature ABKRS

    Try to configure an action organiational reassigment and reason is chnage of pay roll area
(c) Are there any consequences in doing so.

    Hi Experts
    A new payroll area has been set up for MM from NN(with employees being ended on and restarted on different payroll areas/personnel numbers) an example of this is personnel number 1234 (the new number), adminstrators need to input the past absences against the new personnel numbers in the new payroll area and they are getting the error message (Does not Exists in IT0001) .Please analyise and let us know your findings.

  • Posting a WT to different GL accounts depending on Payroll area

    My client wants to create a new Payroll area for the UK called say Zx and process some of the existing WT's from IT0015 and technical WT's such as /301 and /302 to different GL accounts to those employees in Payroll area Zy.
    Since as far as I am aware the WT are linked to the same symbolic accounts based on PSG I do not see an option in PPMOD to make this decision based on Payroll area. I have read a bit about using an exit but not sure this is going to meet the requirements and how this actually works in reality - any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I am not sure if I understand it correctly. But you're saying that you will create new Payroll Area ZX but you want to post IT0015 wage types of employees in payroll area ZY to different GL accounts. So what is the use of ZX? and How it is related in postings?
    Postings always happen based on WT's. PPMOD is used in case you want to post a single WT to different GL's based on ESG.
    Moreover, posting program is also run based on payroll area.

  • PU12 Transaction: Mutilple Payroll Area Issue

    Dear All,
    I am going under very strange issue with PU12 transaction. This transaction runs fine and export payroll data if a person is hired only in one Payroll Area.
    Like, if a employee E123456 is hired under Payroll Area - 99  and if this is still under that payroll area in HR-Infotype 1 THEN PU12 will work fine.
    If employee is transferred to some other payroll area - 01. So this time Infotype 1 will have two record - Initial Hired Payroll 99 (delimited) record and current Payroll Area 01 record.
    When PU12 transaction starts for this employee it only will run for Initial Payroll Area (in this case 99). Whatever the data under Payroll Area 99 time span will only get processed.
    Whatever the data will come under new Payroll Area 01, it will not get processes.
    Is there something missing in configuration side or something to be added explicitly?

    Thanks for the reply. But the link gives good information about configuration of PU12. The scenario I have raised, it doesn't help to understand that. But its good reference guide and I already had that. Can you please help me to understand what could be the reason of the mentioned problem.

  • Delimiting payroll Area

    Dear Experts,
    We are having 12 payroll Areas ( All are monthly) now, due to the management decision I have to reduce the pay roll area  03. how can i  do this.
    If i delete the payroll area , i think it will effect the history of the employees,
    so how can i delimit the payroll area??? or what is the solution for this?

    Hi Manjula,
    1. you can't delete the existing payroll area otherwise you can't run retro for those emp.
    2. If you will replace the existing payroll area to a new payroll are, may be system will trigger retro. Even as per my understanding you can't change the payroll area for the periods payroll has already been run. It wil through the error 'PayrArea unchangeable for periods for which payroll has run'
    3. So, accordingly modifying the feature ABKRS is also not suggestable.
    one alternate u can try, create a new payroll areas and configure ABKRS for those payroll area without modifying the existing data of feature and assign these to the emps. keep old payroll areas in the system to avoid any kind of inconsistencies. i hope it even doesn't harm u to maintain those payroll areas in system if you are not assigning these to any1. Now according to Usha u cn change the text to avoid any further confusion.

    "One of the employee has been promoted from employee group 2 (Workmen) to employee group (Management Staff).  We have run promotion action now, that is after running pay roll for the month of May 2011.  Now it is not allowing to change the pay roll area in orga. assignment effective from 01.04.2011,  please do the needful on priority to run pay roll for the month of May 2011."
    Can anyone please help me and let me what needs to be done in such cases.

    As you said that you have already configured ABKRS feature for defaulting payroll area based on your employee group.
    So when you run the promotion action it should actually pick up the default payroll area according to new employee group.
    Are you able to do that? or did you manually change it on IT 0001 screen.
    If you want it to be automatically defaulted then check your feature DFINF it should have value X if you want it from customising or leave it blank if it should be copied form the previous record

  • Change in existing Payroll Area and its impact on existing PA records.

    Hello,
    Can anyone let me know please how easy / difficult it would be to change the description of the existing payroll area lets say "AB" to be the one as per requirment lets say "AC" so that it will show employees as AC rather than AB in the future? Also, if this can be done, would there be any impact on existing PA records (eg, how would they get updated to show the new code & description)?

  • Should Java introduce new primitive data types??

    In Java SE 5.0, many character- related methods (especially in the class Character) handle code points by using int type, i.e. return (code point) type is int, or receive (code point) int as parameter. This leads several problems. First, the variable used for storing returned result should be carefully stated, otherwise confusion may arise. Second, the parameters of method should be carefully ordered, otherwise conflict of method signature may meet.
    By those reasons, I suggest that Java should introduce new primitive data types for handling characters, they are:
    1. wchar
    this type states the variable stores 32-bit UNSIGNED integer, and it could be used to store either the code point, or the UTF-16 code of a character.
    2. ascii
    this type states the variable stores 8-bit UNSIGNED integer, and it could be used to store the code point of a elemental (ascii) character.

  • SAP Adhoc Query by payroll area and respective periods

    Hello,
    I would get an idea of how to make SAP query by having a selection screen for Payroll area and its respectve periods (respective control record).  I was able to get the selection screen where I can input payroll area. But the date range for the report is a manual feed. I want something like when we select the payroll area, then I want the periods to be shown (payroll period - current period or other period). I'm new to making this SAP query. Any inupt is appreciated. Thanks.

    in the adhoc query we can select the periods based on the frequency but the dates will not get default
    As in the Pay roll driver the dates get defaulted based on the settings made in Control Record Status
    so i dont think this is possible thru Standrad

    i am selecting a vacant postion on the portal. I just want to fetch the Payroll area related to this new position being selected. Can you suggest the ways to find it?
    Like in which table should i look in, as for e.g. There is a table HRP1008 in which i can found Personnel Area, Subarea, Company code related with new position, but am unable to find the link between position and payroll area (or within any of these fields with payroll area). Please guide me.

  • Introduce New Investment FS items into existing system

    Hi All,
    Please help me with the following requirement:
    Requirement:
    Client want to introduce New Investment FS items into existing system to make reporting specific to countries.
    Expected change - Investment specific:
    All Activities (First consolidation, Increase in capital etc..) have only one item as default to collect data, however to make country reporting easy, client like to increase number of FS items. Hence we will have to introduce one more FS item in each level of activity and client wants to transfer some value from old FS items to New FS items.
    Concern - If client wants to transfer any value from old Investment Item to New investment FS item, How should we tackle in system ?
    Please share your thoughts on to achieve & advice me standard way if any.

    If you use Cons of Investments (COI) and the investments are read from the Additional Financial Data (AFD) then this change will be okay. The only thing that may arise are if the validations check the investments AFD compared to totals (selected in validation tasks). The validation errors will be corrected by changing the totals item to agree with the AFD.
    If you use totals for investments it may be necessary to include all items in the location of values, however I have never used totals for investments.

    Hi Vamshi,
    I don't think so what you have done is correct. It seems like Global Employment functionality. As I understood you have some EEs which are Indian but working in company branch of Yeman.
    If this is the case you should define a new company code for Yeman branch and use Global Employment functionality. By this you can make decision to pay in home currency or traget country currency.
