Hi
I am trying to load data from sybase into temporary table. When i executing the job, it is giving the following error.
3220 5728 DBS-070404 2/11/2008 8:07:26 AM SQL submitted to ODBC data source <ppi-r_pp3_V1R00> resulted in error <[DataDirect][ODBC Sybase Wire Protocol driver][SQL

But there is a State column in the table.
Can anybody help me how to reolve this issue?
Thanks

Problem is that the Source column name and Target column name are not same may be in Query transform name is differing.Chk it again

Invalid Column Name on select from materialized view?
Hey all, I have created this materialized view for my java to select from. For some reason when I try to select from it, I get invalid column name. Here is my mat view statement in its simplest form:

Nevermind, figured it out. Was using wrong column name identifier when picking values from resultset.Since you have "OBJECT_ID" in quotes, Oracle stores the column name literally and case sensitively, and the column name must be capitalized when referenced.
From a regular sql*plus window, try
select object_id from mv_pgridtcevcluster_property;
select OBJECT_ID from mv_pgridtcevcluster_property;
select "OBJECT_ID" from mv_pgridtcevcluster_property;What is the result from each of them? -
"Invalid column name" when restoring SAP DM IFRS Starter Kit
I want to share an issue that we came across when restoring the SAP Disclosure Management IFRS Starter Kit. Namely when trying to restore it on an environment we got the following error:
Server Error in '/' Application.
Invalid column name 'AccountExpirationDate'.
Invalid column name 'PasswordChangedDate'.
Invalid column name 'LastSuccessfulLoginDate'.
In our case, after getting this error we tried restoring the SK on SAP Disclosure Management SP06 and it turned out to work ok so hope that this solves it for anyone else stuck at the sameHi Rajneesh,
Check whether you have both the row-axis and column-axis of the input template through 'edit report'.
Probably your input template has some member dimensions missing in your template.
We have faced the same problem before and corrected it.
This error occurs sometimes when we create a input template by clearing defining the row & column axis in the template but afterwards try some EPMOlapmember in any axis by deleting the original report elements.
So check the input template once again. I think you will track the error.

Error "Invalid Column Name tp_level" when open restored web app
Hi,
I have a web application in development environment and it works fine when I try to restore the web application to the staging or production environment it is restored successfully but when I open the web application I got an error "Invalid column name
tp_level"
I don't know why this issue occurred. Do anyone knows what is the reason and how to solve it.
Thank you.
Ehabtp_level is an internal column of a content database. Can you check permissions on a restored content database for an account used for web app pool running?
If it will not help, I offer you to create web application in staging/production and then make a copy of a content database from development enviroment and attach it to a newly created web app. -
INSERT INTO with SELECT invalid column name error
I have a problem where I wish to update a table with only records that have changed or insert into a table with only new records. The Source table is queried using OPENQUERY as we have no staging db for this.
I have the following code (adapted from a working example):
INSERT INTO dbo.Contact
SELECT contactID, lastUpdatedDateTime
FROM
MERGE INTO dbo.Contact AS DT
USING (SELECT * FROM OPENQUERY(LINKED_SERVER,'SELECT contactID, lastUpdatedDateTime FROM Contact')) AS DS
ON (DT.ContactID = DS.ContactID)
WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
INSERT VALUES (DS.contactID, DS.lastUpdatedDateTime)
WHEN MATCHED AND (DT.lastUpdatedDateTime <> DS.lastUpdatedDateTime) THEN
UPDATE SET DT.contactID = DS.contactID, DT.lastUpdatedDateTime = DS.lastUpdatedDateTime
OUTPUT $Action Action_Out
AS MERGE_OUT
WHERE MERGE_OUT.Action_Out = 'UPDATE';
GO
When I run this query I am getting the following errors referring to the columns in the SELECT:
Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
Invalid column name 'contactID'.
Msg 207, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
Invalid column name 'lastUpdatedDateTime'.
Am I missing something obvious as I can't quite work out why? The Target and source definitely exist with the specified columns present in both...Hello,
The issue is because you are not outputting those values from the inner merge statement. All you are currently outputting is the action, so the error is correct as those columns do not exist.
Change your output portion to be:
OUTPUT inserted.contactID, inserted.lastUpdatedDateTime, $Action Action_Out
Then it should work.

Crystal Reports XI: Invalid column name error
Hello!
I have a crystal report using a SQL command that is getting the following error (occasionally):
Failed to retrieve data from the database.
Details: ADO Error Code: 0x80040e14
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Description: Invalid column name 'IPCSKUGroup'.
SQL State: 42S22
Native Error: 207 [Database Vendor Code: 207]
I say occasionally because if i go to Database>> Log on or Log off server and log off the target server and then rerun the report, it will work. If i refresh the report with different parameters, i get the error.
I'm running Crystal Reports XI version 11.0.0.1282 on Windows XP SP2 32-bit. The data is in a SQL Server 2000 database.
This is the portion of the query causing the problem:
(drop/clear temp tables and initiallize a few variables with parameters)
(...other queries putting together the temp table #WorkingTotals) - This part works fine because the report runs if i remove the following portion.
select wtt.QtrMax,QuarterName,Year,wtt.IPCSKUGroup as IPCSKUNum,ServicePriceSuggested,PcsBilled,BilledRevenue,PriceIndex,StdRevenue,
(select sum(TT.BilledRevenue) from
(select Top 4 wt2.BilledRevenue
from #WorkingTotals2 wt2
where wt2.IPCSKUGroup = wtt.IPCSKUGroup and wt2.QtrMax <= wtt.QtrMax order by wt2.QtrMax desc)as TT)
as M12Revenue
from #WorkingTotals wtt
The entire query works fine when I run it in SQL Query Analyzer. But Crystal has an issue with the way i'm figuring the M12Revenue field. The M12Revenue is a moving 12 month revenue which is the sum of the revenue for the past 4 quarters for each quarter.
This is what i've tried thus far:
Putting the entire query into a stored procedure
Storing what gets stored in #WorkingTotals into a database table rather than a temp one
Renaming columns to various different things.
Each of those still resulted in the error.
Thanks for the help!!!
WesHi Wes,
What does SQL Profiler show you when the error happens?
Try using ODBC to see if it also errors, may be an issue in MS's MDAC and the OLE DB driver. MS usually updates MDAC with all Patches but you may want to verify you are using the latest version.
Thank you

Sybase JDBC driver & Invalid column name error
I submitted a note a year ago concerning JDBC-ODBC bridge and SQL Server db. Same Invalid column name error. The resolution was a bug in the XSU code.
This time the error is with a jconnect5 JDBC driver from Sybase to a Sybase ASA db. ASA is Adaptive Server Anywhere.
<ERROR xsql-timing="140">oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: S0022: Invalid column name 'name'.</ERROR>
However if I use a Sybase JDBC driver from INet Software of Germany, I get the desired result of my query.
Below are sample XSQLConfig.xml definitions.
INet Software Sybase JDBC driver definition:
- <connection name="deasa">
<username>dba</username>
<password>sql</password>
<dburl>jdbc:inetsyb:LEMKAU:2638?database=asademo</dburl>
<driver>com.inet.syb.SybDriver</driver>
<autocommit>true</autocommit>
</connection>
Sybase jconnect5 Sybase JDBC driver definition:
- <connection name="asa">
<username>dba</username>
<password>sql</password>
<dburl>jdbc:sybase:Tds:lemkau:2638?ServiceName=asademo</dburl>
<driver>com.sybase.jdbc.SybDriver</driver>
<autocommit>true</autocommit>
</connection>
I believe the bug has to do with the numeric codes that the drivers use to determine data types are not properly interpreted.
See XML General note title "insert-request, xsu 2.1.0 beta & SQL Server" for reference.
Steve.Thanks for the notification. We will look into this issue...

Java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column name: user_id
Hi,
I am using SQL Server 2000 database and using a Java DAO class executing an SQL query using preparedStatement.The issue is that intermittently i get the following exception: "SQLException:Invalid column name". I checked the filed name in the table and the filed name i gave in the resultset.getInt("field_name")and both are matching.The parameter values for the query are fetched from a JSP report and the surprsing issue is that this exception comes on & off. So iam unable to find the cause of this exception.Can anyone help me out?
Query Used :
SELECT usrs.user_id,uperm.value,uedis.attrib_value.......
FROM USERS usrs
LEFT OUTER JOIN extended_user_attributes uedis
ON (usrs.user_id = uedis.user_id AND usdis.attrib_id=?),
user_permission uperm
WHERE usrs.user_id = uperm.user_id
AND uperm.name=?
I am getting exception when iterating resultset.
ResultSet rs = preparedStatement.executeQuery();
while(rs.next())
UserID userid = new UserID();
userid.setUserID(rs.getInt("user_id"));
Thanks
Balaji.MGiving an alias name to the column name will work. If the query uses join or fetching rows from multiple tables, then giving an alias name to the column name, should work fine.
By,
Sethu
It seems you have two user_id columns and the server
or driver names the column automatically(I am not
sure of that) in some way. Try giving some alias to
the field you want, like:
SELECT usrs.user_id
u_user_id,uperm.value,uedis.attrib_value.......
userid.setUserID(rs.getInt("u_user_id"));HTH

Jpub invalid column name error
I try to create a Wrapper for a PL/SQL Package in a Oracle8i database with jpublisher.
I created Packages and Object Types with the SQl script Rational.sql. \oracle\ora81\sqlj\demo\jpub\Rational.sql
jpub failed to produce any sqlj or java files, but produces a "invalid column name" error. This happened with all packages I have tested. Object Types are wrapped without problems.
jpub -sql=RationalP -user=scott/tiger -url=jdbc:oracle:oci8:@xx
SCOTT.RATIONALP
ORA-00904: invalid column name
JPub: Java Object Type Publisher, version 8.1.7.0.0 Production
Thanks for Help, KonradThe database that your are running against is 8.1.6 or earlier.
You are seeing an issue where JPublisher is not backwards compatible. It looks up system tables to determine the signatures of SQL types and of PL/SQL packages. A change happened with the 8.1.7 release in the representation for packages, but JPublisher did not keep backward compatibility. You can do one of the following:
(1) Use the JPublisher version that came with your database. (Use the runtime.zip/translator.zip libraries under [Oracle Home]/sqlj/lib.)
(2) Use the JPublisher from Oracle 9.0.1 or later. It also provides backward compatibility to 8i databases.

Adding dim property - Error processing (Invalid column name)
BPC 5.1 SP3
I'm trying to add FormulaH1 and FormulaH2 properties to a user-defined dim containing two hierarchies. Properties are added and processed without any issues. However, when I subsequently try to process the member sheet, which has two new columns ("FormulaH1" and "FormulaH2"), I receive this error:
- Error occurs during UpdateRemainData. Invalid column name 'formula13'.
Column 13 in the member sheet contains the new "FormulaH2" property. (Column 12 has the "FormulaH1" property).
Any ideas what might be causing this error? I do see the new columns added to the mbr table. I've tried changing the property lengths and "In App" settings---get the same error when processing the member sheet.
Are there issues with added Formula properties to a user-def dim? Or, is there something else going on here?Answered my own question....
I only need to add one property called "Formula". BPC will then add the H1 and H2 "property" columns in the member sheet. -
SQLException: invalid column name
I created a view on a Oracle 8.0.5 database which joins three tables. One column of the view is built by subtracting the values of two table-columns by each other. On SQLPlus everything works fine, but when I run a SELECT-Statement over JDBC I got a SQLException: invalid column name. With WHERE-Clauses, which will not have any results the query also works under JDBC.
An example:
"select * from OpenOrderPos where OrderID = <myval>" will work when run under SQLPlus
but not under JDBC and when there should be results
Here is my code:
create View OpenOrderPos
(OrderID, PosNo, ArticleID, ArticleBez, ArtPrice, RestQuantity, Sum)
as
select O.OrderID_FK, Count(A.PosNo), Art.ArticleID, Art.ArtDescr,
Art.ArtPrice, O.Quantity - I.Quantity, (O.Quantity - I.Quantity) * Art.ArtPrice
from OrderPos O, InvoicePos I, Article Art
where O.OrderPosID = I.InvPosID and
O.ArticleID_FK = Art.ArticleID and
(O.Quantity - I.Quantity) > 0
Group by O.OrderID_FK, Art.ArticleID, Art.ArtDescr, Art.ArtPrice, O.Quantity - I.Quantity, (O.Qunatity - I.Quantity) * Art.ArtPrice;
Any ideas would be great!
ChrisI would also suggest you specify the column names in your SQL statement. If for no other reason than it is good programming practice. If you explicitly specify your columns instead of use * then you will not have to worry about an invalidated object should the view be changed at a later date. Considering the fact that JDBC makes all database statements dynamic, this is not an issue but once again, it is good programming practice.

Help! Invalid Column Name
As a beginner keen in learning C# database programming, I followed an example on YouTube. The followings are the steps:
1.
Created a form with two text boxes, namely txtID and txtName
2. Created a program. The part for creating the sql and sql command is as follows.
3. The problem: somehow when executing the SQL command (exeSql.ExecuteNonQuery();) it keeps saying Invalid Column Name, for example, if I enter "Edward" as txtName.Text, it says
Invalid Column Name "Edward"
Would somebody be kind enough to help?
Thank you very much!
Ed
-----------------------Extract from Program --------------------------------------------
try
string sql = "INSERT INTO Students (Student_Id,StudentName) values(" + txtID.Text + "," + txtName.Text + ")";
MessageBox.Show(sql);
SqlCommand exeSql = new SqlCommand(sql, cn);
cn.Open();
exeSql.ExecuteNonQuery();
MessageBox.Show ("Add New record Done!!","Message",MessageBoxButtons.OK,MessageBoxIcon.Information);
this.studentsTableAdapter.Fill(this.studentsDataSet.Students);
-----------------------End of Extract from Program --------------------------------------------Thank you very much! Indeed it works! I didn't realize that varchar without single quote became a name itself! You are very helpful! Thank you very much!
Glad to help. Please mark as answer if it solved your issue. Thank you

SQL Message 207, Severity 16 - Invalid Column Name
The Config Manager 2012 system seems to be very sick with SQL Message 207, Severity 16 - Invalid Column Name messages in the Management Point logs. The column is populated by NULL values. The error message in the logs suggests I refer to the
Config Man, SQL, or Knowledge Base for further details. I've looked around but I'm not really sure if this is a "repairable" problem. Has anyone seen this before and can point me in the direction to a solution? The server is a standalone
Primary.Hi Niall and Torsten,
Installed in September of last year. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, SQL 2008 R2 SP2 (10.50.4000).
The text from the log reads:
Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 207, severity 16: [42S22][207][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid column name 'Distinguished_Name0'.
Please refer to your Configuration Manager documentation, SQL Server documentation, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.
Followed by:
Discovery Data Manager failed to process the discovery data record (DDR) "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\auth\ddm.box\adsu9110.DDR", because it cannot update the data source.
Possible cause: On a Primary site, it is probably a SQL Server problem.
Solution:
1. Review the immediately preceding status messages from this component about SQL Server errors.
2. Verify that this computer can reach the SQL Server computer.
3. Verify that SQL Server services are running.
4. Verify that the site can access the site database.
5. Verify that the site database, transaction log, and tempdb are not full.
6. Verify that there are at least 50 SQL Server user connections, plus 5 for each Configuration Manager Console.
If the problem persists, check the SQL Server error logs.
Possible cause: On a secondary site, Discovery Data Manager probably cannot write to a file on the site server, so check for low disk space on the site server.
Solution: Make more space available on the site server.
As far as I can tell the services are running, there is no disk space issue, the server can access the database, not sure about the logs or the connections. -

We have been using WLS 6.1 sp2 with toplink and never had any problems. Recently
we migrated to sp4 and get a invalid column name exception while updating records.
For select queries there is no error. The SQL generated by toplink is -
UPDATE PR_SUPP SET CNTC_PRSN_NAME = ''
, REMK = 'Remark 123', LAST_CHNG_DTTM = {ts '2002-11-29 10:59:56.0'} WHERE ((S
UPP_CODE = 'A0001') AND (LAST_CHNG_DTTM = {ts '2002-11-29 10:46:01.0'}))
It looks like some problem with the JDBC driver. The databse is Oracle 8.17. How
to fix it
