  • "Error in processing external entity reference" - why?

    -- FM 8.0p277, structured --
Saddened to see this morning that FM apparently decided against saving the work I did yesterday afternoon ... I can sympathise with the idea of not saving imperfect documents, but it could at least have warned me!
First attempt at saving this morning throws up the following message.
] XML Parser Messages (Document Prolog)
] Error at file P:\ACM\smu\ditabase.dtd, line 71, char 17, Message: Could not open external entity 'P:\ACM\smu\indexingDomain.ent'
] Parse error at line 71, char 0: Error in processing external entity reference
    * I certainly haven't created any .dtd, so where might this defective file have come from?
    * ditto for defining entities
So - what's the root problem, and how do I set about correcting it?
[ps] I get exactly the same message when I use the FM DITA menu to create a brand-new topic.

    Hey Niels...
That *shouldn't* be happening if you're using an unmodified FM8 install .. especially with creating a new file. It sounds like something has gone awry in your install. This will often happen if the doctype declaration in the XML file is defined as a system resource rather than with a public ID (but that shouldn't be happening unless you're creating the file with another editor or using a file created by someone else).
    Some things to check ..
    - Open the DITA > Options dialog .. is "DITA-Topic-FM" selected as the "Topic application"?
    - When you open a file from disk, do you select "DITA-Topic-FM" as the structure application? (You may not get an option to do so .. that's OK.)
    - Choose .. Structure Tools > Edit Application Definitions .. locate the XMLApplication node that is labeled "DITA-Topic-FM" .. below that you'll see entries for Template, DTD, and Read/write rules. Check that the files specifed actually exist at the locations specified (note that "$STRUCTDIR" maps to the FrameMaker/Structure/ folder).
    - Have you installed FrameMaker in a "nonstandard" location?
I may be missing something obvious, but this is probably a good start.

  • Invalidate cache when data refreshed using external process

Hi all, I have some reference tables that are loaded in memory using cache. I have some external processes - sql scripts - that refreshes these tables. I would like to have a mechanism to notify the cache that the underlined tables have been refreshed.
What options do we have here? I was thinking at using some jms notifications to the cache.
Did you encounter this requirement before?
    Thanks.

    Hello.
One way to do this is to create a shadow table, who is updated via triggers corresponding to change events on the master table. Next, you need to write and start an "update thread" whose purpose is to poll that table and update the cache accordingly. In order to prevent echo-ing, you will need to include a last updating process column in both the master and the shadow table. That will prevent updates orginating from your cache from infinitely recursing. Essentially, your "update thread" will need to ignore rows created by the write/through or behind mechanism of your cache.
    I hope this helps,
    -Adrian

  • Tracking of wip material in externally processed operation

    Hi All,
As part of production process, most of the operations would be processed internally in the manufacturing plant and some of the operations would be
performed by vendor at his own premises (outside the manufacturing plant). Material will be called as WIP (work in process) material if it completes some of the operations (two operations completed out of four operations) in production process without forming its final product shape
WIP (work in process) material will be sent out to vendor against externally processed operation in production order. We’ve a business requirement to track the WIP (Work in Process, No inventory yet in system) material status details such as when was the WIP material shipped out to service provider by purchasing department or returned back to production floor from stores after receiving from vendor for externally processed operation in production
    order
The scenario is explained below and the process in SAP would be as follows.
    1. Production order would be created for
respective header material (semi-finished/finished) with required quantity with five operations to be processed, for example: OP10 (turning), OP20 (drilling), OP30 (milling), OP40 (shaping), OP50 (powder coating). OP10, OP20, OP40, OP50. would be processed internally in the shop floor of the manufacturing plant
2.After finishing the internal processing at OP10 and OP20,  Operation no 30 (OP30-milling) for the respective header
material would be processed externally by sending the partially processed part(WIP) to vendor outside the manufacturing plant. In SAP, the partially processed part doesn't have any material code and will not be updated in the inventory and will be treated as WIP (work in process) and automatic purchase requisition for external processing through production order is generated as follows
For OP30 Milling (Externally processed operation), from PP module perspective, we would be maintaining a control key which supports external
processing in the Operation 30 (OP30, external processed operation - An externally processed operation is not carried out within own organization, but is assigned to a vendor, who then does the work) with relevant information such as material group, purchase group, description of operation, cost element to track costs in the production order.
When the respective production order is saved, system creates a purchase requisition for external processed operation 30. We can see
the number of the purchase requisition on the external processing tab of operation details screen of OP30 in SAP Production order.
Purchasing department generates a purchase order against the automatic purchase requisition generated in production order, which informs the
    vendor which service is required.
With reference to the purchase order – service oriented, the WIP material (no material code exists in SAP) is sent out to vendor. After the material has been processed, the vendor delivers the material back to manufacturing plant. When a goods receipt against purchase order is posted at manufacturing plant, the system displays the received quantity on the external processing tab of operation details screen of the operation - OP30 in production order and also displays in order information system reports. It also possible to track the cost incurred for external operation. However, Goods receipt against production order does not cause an increase in the quantity and value of the warehouse stock of header material of production order.
The above mentioned process is not a subcontracting process - where in we send raw materials and receive semi-finished/finished materials from vendor
    3. The respective partially processed part (WIP) received from vendor is sent to shop floor to complete the rest of the process
in OP40 (shaping) and OP50 (powder coating).
    4. After OP50, the respective header material (semi-finished/finished) of the production order will be received (goods
receipt against production order) as inventory in respective storage location.
    With reference to the above process, we can track the status of receipt of WIP material from vendor after processing at his premises;
however, we can’t track when WIP material ( after completing processing at OP20) was sent out to vendor for external processing by purchasing department and when WIP material was returned back to production shop floor for further processing at OP40 after receiving from vendor by stores.
Please provide your feedback for the possibility to track the details of WIP material (no material code exists in SAP system) sent out to
vendor and received back at shop floor from stores for external processed operation of production order
    Thanks for help in advance.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
Process what ever you have explained is the right process with respective to operation wise subcontracting as per SAP Best practice. As you rihtly said in operation wise subcontracting PR is created with any material code. Once PR is created after PO and GR actual cost of that particular operation will be seen on the order. I believe sub contact operation after GR can be confirmed through confirmation transactions. Since it is subcontract operation specfic to peration seperate inventory is not tracked instead cost is reflecting directly on order
If you to want to track the inventory of the intermdiate product then you need to have a seperate material code for intermediate product (Eg A) received after second operation and do seperate subcontacting PR for seperate new material (Eg B) by issuing the intermediate material (Eg. A). Upon receivng GR for PO inventory will be updated for the new material (Eg B).This new material can be issued to your final product which has operation 0040 and 0050. Here two different material codes will be required.
Else follow the suggestion given by expert Caetano.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramagiri

  • Approve button of PO Approval Notification not functioning properly

    Hello,
We are using PO approval workflow for our PO approval process.
The approve button of the email notification is not performing the intended action, that is approving the PO.
Since the approve is not functioning,we had to approve it from oracle. Is there any reason for this?

  • How to modify message or subject in po approval notification

    sir,
please tell how to modify message or subject in po approval notification process ,
new database item should get displayed in either message or subject
    regards

Hi, you'd have to load the .emlx file for it into something like Text Wrangler, modify it & save it, I think the only way in Mail would be to Forward it to yourself with an edited Subject line.

  • Modify PO approval notification

    All,
I need to add some extra information to the PO approval notification.
I have downloaded the PO Approval item but I am not sure which
    process/ message I should change.
Can you please tell me how to find out what needs to be changed or
where I should make changes in the workflow?
    Thanks.
    Edited by: 973508 on Apr 17, 2013 4:21 PM

I have identified the message as "PO Approve".
I have added a new attribute called "Requisition Number" to "PO Approval Process" and used it
in "Approve PO" message. I have also modified the procedure PO_POAPPROVAL_INIT1.SetPOHdrAttributes
to retrieve the requisition number of a PO and setting the attribute of "Requisition Number" with it.
Then, in the Approve PO message body I have added "Requisition Number: &REQUISITION_NUMBER" in workflow
builder and saved it in to the target database.
But, the approval workflow notification message is not picking my requisition number.
I am not sure how to actually modify the message of the notification to use the
newly added Requisition number attribute in it.
Can any please give me some direction here?
    Thanks.

  • PO attachments in PO approval notification

All, is it possible to display the PO attachments/ their information in the PO approval notification itself?
If so, please tell me where to start.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If possible download standard POAPPRV (PO Approval) workflow.
Copy PO Approval Top Process to create
<YourCompany>PO Approval Top Process eg. xxPO Approval Top Process .
Inside the process you can similarly create new custom sub process and packages by copying standard packages and include your custom requirements.
This way you can keep standard code untouched. However in future you need to keep track of those changes for while Patch and Upgrades.
    Thanks,
    Jit

  • PO Approval Notification to Originator

    Hello,
When a PO is created and is forwarded on for approval, when it is finally approved does the originator or Buyer receive an email stating its approved ? Does this functionality exists in Oracle & if Yes, what setups are required to enable the same.
    Thanks,
    Shilpa.

    Hi,
Your question : Is this option available in 11i also or in R12 only ?
Ans : Yes available in both 11i and R12..
Q: Do we need to do anything with the PO Approval Workflow to get this notification ?
Ans : Hope you have done appropriate setup in Document Type (Purchasing>Setup>Purchasing>Document Types)..
PO WF is basically derived from the Document type. In the Document type attribute e.g. say Purchase Order Standard Approval Workflow is normally set as : PO Approval and Workflow Startup Process as : PO Approval Top Process..
we believe below are the prerequisite for WF to send mail for approval...
    - Make sure notification mailer is up and running
    - WF background process is scheduled

  • Unwanted leave approval notification mails to Non-Manager

    Hello All,
I have a situation wherein one of our portal users started getting leave approval notification mails from other employees in that Org Unit. Now the interesting part is he is not a manager and never was. Checked his relationships, substitutes and delegations and every where it is normal and not supposed to receive such mails. Moreover we are not using workflows yet
Where could we have gone wrong, after so many attempts now my I am gone blank so please do suggest me all tables or customizations where it could went wrong or possibly any silly mistakes that would trigger this kind of problems.

    Thanq, that was very prompt;
Here are my settings in RPTARQEAIL.
Send email to requestor with text HR_TIM_ARQ_REQUESTOR with general notification almost for all.
But should I rather check the settings for mail to approver instead? Coz one of a non manager employee  is getting approver notification mail such as " your employees in your dept are awaiting for your processing..."
Can you brief me out on why this document selection radio button could have gone wrong in sending mails to requestor regarding approvals.
