Invalid Login Page

I have created a HTML portlet that accepts the portal user id/pswd and does a login. This works fine when the user correctly enters the information. If the user does not put in the correct user id/pswd, it bring them to the oracle default single sign on page. Is there a way to bring invalid logins to a different page (I want to display some help text/images) with a back button that return them to my login page?

  • Why is website telling me on login page invalid username or password.

    Installed firefox to see if I could clear up issues on website of watching videos and freezing up with bing and chrome. Now I cannot even get signed in to login page. I know my email address and password yet error message about invalid username or password keeps coming up.

    I don't think it's Firefox's problem.
    "Invalid username" dialog is sent by the website you're on and your browser has nothing to do with it (generally).
    What website you're trying to log in to ? Have you tried this on another browser ? Have you tried resetting your password ?

  • Custom Error message in Login Page

    Hi,
    I am using MVC framework for my project. I want to display custom error messages to the user in the Login page(JSP).
    For eg: invalid password, password has been expired etc. How do I pass these messages from Java to my login page & display it?

    This is a sample action class for login page in struts : -
    package xxx;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionError;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionErrors;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForm;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForward;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionMapping;
    import LoginForm.java;
    public class Action extends org.apache.struts.action.Action
    public ActionForward execute(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form,
    HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws Exception {
    ActionErrors errors = new ActionErrors();
    ActionForward forward = new ActionForward(); // return value
    String username;
    String password;
    try {
    LoginForm lf = new LoginForm;
    username =lf.getUserName();
    password = lf.getPassword();
    if( username== null)
    forward=mapping.getInputForward();
    if( (username == "admin" ) && ( password="admin"))
    // do something here
    } catch (Exception e) {
    // Report the error using the appropriate name and ID.
    //Errors will be caught here.
    errors.add("name", new ActionError("id"));
    // If a message is required, save the specified key(s)
    // into the request for use by the <struts:errors> tag.
    if (!errors.isEmpty()) {
    saveErrors(request, errors);
    // Forward control to the appropriate 'failure' URI (change name as desired)
    //     forward = mapping.findForward("failure");
    } else {
    // Forward control to the appropriate 'sucuess' URI (change name as desired)
    forward = mapping.findForward("success");
    // Finish with
    return (forward);
    You need to have LoginForm.java as Model and Login.jsp as View . Action.java will be your controller.

  • Opens Webmail login page instead of sso login page after changing the webma

    Hi Gurus,
    I have setup notes webmail in portal which uses SSO. I login to portal and click the webmail link which opens the sso page for authentication(Cuz I have integrated the webmail to use SSO). I enter my username and password. Then it shows my emails, inbox..etc. I logout of portal, Go to Notes client on my PC and change my webmail password there. I go back to portal and log in and click the webmail link on the portal. Cuz I have changed the webmail password, I expected that it will open the SSO page and ask me to enter the password again. It didn't happen. Instead of opening eh SSO login page, It opens the Webmail login page with an error saying "Invalid User Name or Password". I am wondering why it opens the webamil login page instead the sso login page. I can still login to webmail If I enter the user name and new password. But it doesn't update the webmail password which is stored in the SSO. Please post a reply if you have some idea about fixing this.
    Thanks

    Two bits of advice:
    1) Make sure you ask questions in a forum related to your problem.
    2) If you want to be taken seriously as a professional, drop the MS IM Speak and use the language of the forum. In this forum it is English, which is successfully used by many people for whom English is far from their native language.

  • Not able to pass portal login page with valid credentials using WebDispatch

    Hi,
    We are implementing SAP BillerDirect Portal. To make BillerDirect Portal available over the internet, we Configured SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination.  We followed the steps mentioned in SAP Help Documentaion for SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/76/6d4fa247d0d647b5bd40745400d873/frameset.htm
    We created certificate  and send it to CA (TrustCenter CA). We received the CA response and we imported the certificate.
    AS mentioned in the help document, we configured the SAP Web Dispatcher profile to support SSL termination
    We tried to access our BillerDirect Portal over the internet using below link
    https://company.com/bd
    We are getting login page, once we enter correct user ID and Password, portal is not loading (not going to next page) portal remains on same login page.
    If we enter invalid credentials portal login page is giving u201CUser Authentication Failedu201D error.
    If we try to access any portal login pages which brings a pop-up for login, login gets succeeded and we are able to see next pages
    Examples
    1)     https://company.com/bd/admin/xcm/init.do
    2)     https://company.com/monitoring/SystemInfo
    All pages which bring up portal login page without pop-up, not able to pass through portal login screen.
    We Tried the ProxyMapping option on Dispatcher using Visual admin. This option also didnu2019t work for us.
    Here is the WebDispatcher Profile

  • Help with implementing a login page - ADF Faces & 10.1.3

    I am having trouble getting a basic login page working and am hoping someone can help. I'd like to have a login page with username and password fields and a submit button. When submitted, I would like to authenticate the user and either send them to a second page if I find the username & password, or return them to the login page and display a global JSF message if I can't find the username/password info. Pretty standard stuff.
    I've got an app module that contains a read-only view object, which has a custom method (in MyViewImpl.java) that checks the username & password against a database table and returns a boolean. I don't have an entity object since it's a read-only view.
    I've tried 2 different approaches:
    1) Binding the username and pw inputText fields to the parameters of my custom method, and binding the submit button to the custom method, all done by drag and drop from my data controls.
    The problem with this approach is that I cannot figure out how to set the global message if the username/password combo is invalid. Once my method is invoked, it returns an "action" String and page navigation occurs (In this case, I have my custom method return a String instead of a boolean). If login fails, at what point do I set the global message?
    2) Using a backing bean for my login page and binding the fields and the button to the bean, and setting the button's action to a method in the bean, which then calls my custom method. Finally, either set the message or navigate based on the boolean returned from my method.
    This seems the better approach, since it keeps the navigation and error message in the ViewController. The problem here is that I can't figure out how to call my custom method from my backing bean. I've seen a few examples, including one using a managed property and calling the action binding's invoke() method, but haven't had any luck (see #51 on this page: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html). The invoke() method does not return a value, so I cannot get the boolean value I need.
    So, I'm apparently missing a piece (or two or three) of the puzzle here. Any guidance is most welcome! And I'm fine with changing any piece of this puzzle if there's a better way of accomplishing this.
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Frank,
    Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if container managed authentication is a good fit or not for my current application, so I will have to look into the details of how it works. Thanks for the suggestion. Whether I use it or not, I will still need to authenticate against a database and not a flat file due to the fact that users may come and go and change passwords frequently, and my application will not be handling the management of that.
    So, I would be still left with the task of accessing the ViewObject and navigating/displaying a message based on the results of that lookup. Fortunately, after slogging through my code and consulting the ADF documentation that is scattered throughout the Oracle website, I was able to get the login page working as I wanted (I found the "Accessing Bindings and Binding Containers from JSF Backing Beans" section of http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/1013eabinding/index.html to be especially helpful). I used the submit button's action to call a method in the backing bean that sent the username and password to my application module's custom authentication method. When I got the boolean result, I either returned a "success" action or set a global JSF message and returned "null".
    Needless to say, I am looking forward to the ADF/JSF version of the Toystore application, along with some sort of comprehensive framework documentation.
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • Intermittent Indirect REference to login page error

    Hello,
    I am building a small web app in a mixed (java/microsoft) environment. We have no budget for a purchased single sign on solution, so I built one with the following architecture:
    ASP page with integrated windows security, this simply returns to the url passed in as'URL' the clients current logon name.
    This ASP page is called by the IntranetSSOServlet, which then builds and submit the vanilla logon page. This servlet is my logon page, it simply posts it's URL to the ASP page, and if a return is posted from ASP, the logon page is bult and submitted. The IntranetSSOServlet also sets a session variable called user to the current user's windows login.
    I have two secure files, these are .jsp passthrough pages (since accessing the servlet directly did not appear to trip the security requirement and call the logon request from the server, so no users were ever in any roles). These are simple pages with a javascript redirect to the two servlets, and the jsp is only used because the servlets do not seem to trip the security requirement in the App server.
    On my machine this works with no issues, single sign on is a success and all is well, on the machine next to mine it works fine also. However, on several client machines, I keep getting an invalie direct reference to login page.
    My question is this:
    Does anyone see any major issues with the architecture which are causing this?
    It appears that the browser on some clients is attempting to go 'Back'. Is this a standard function of any software packages (spyware, internet tracking software, etc.?)
    I am building with Netbeans 5.0, running Embedded Tomcat 5.5.9 and the pages are all accessed via windows XP/IE 6
    Again, whats weird is that this works fine on several workstations, but throws the invalid direct reference to login on others...
    I am quite confused.
    Code to follow:
    IntranetSSOServlet
    if(request.getParameter("user") != null)
    HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
    session.setAttribute("user",request.getParameter("user"));
    //If SSO submission has returned a validated user name
    //out.println(request.getParameter("user"));
    //post this name and the default password to the logon
    //This servlet will become the logon page, which will handle the redirects easier
    out.println("<form METHOD=\"POST\" name = \"form\" action=\"../Intranet-WebModule/j_security_check\">");
    //Generate a div to hide all of the input fields
    out.println("<div style=\"display:;\">");
    out.println("<input type=\"text\" name=\"j_username\" value=\""+request.getParameter("user")+"\"/>");
    out.println("<input type=\"password\" name=\"j_password\" value=\"sas\"/></div>");
    out.println("<input type=\"submit\" value=\"Submit\"/></div>");
    request.getSession().setAttribute("user",request.getParameter("user"));
    //out.println("<input type=\"submit\"></form>");
    out.println("</form><script language=\"javascript\">//form.submit();</script>");
    else
    //call the SSO submission page
    out.write("<script language=\"javascript\">location.replace(\"http://HOSTNAME/SSO/SSO.asp?URL="+lookupIntranetGlobalsBean().getJSPSiteRoot()+"IntranetSSOServlet\");</script>");
    out.close();
    This Servlet simply returns from the ASP a string (the user's logon) and then creates the post page, which posts a single dummy password to the app server
    JSP passthrough page (secured resource)
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>

                <form-error-page>/pages_public/loginError.jsp</form-error-page>
            </form-login-config>
        </login-config>is that I try to handle the error code in the web.xml with
    <error-page>
         <error-code>400</error-code>
         <location>/error.jsp</location>
      </error-page>It works when I say location = index.jsp, but it doesn't work when I try to redirect to error.jsp.
    But when I redirect to index.jsp I just reload the login page, but then the user gets no information what has happened, therefore I need the error,jsp.
    I have no idea why. If anybody has a hint or know why it is this way, please let me know!!
    Thanks.

  • To access my login page, firefox changes the address and shortens "pms2" to just "pms" and it screws up my login procedure. Any hints on how to stop it from changing the address?

    To pull up my login page for my reservation software, I have an icon on my desktop. https://apps.gracesoft.com/pms2/login.asp. However it keeps shortening the "pms2" to "pms" and that makes the login info invalid. The page pulls up just fine, but that one space saver invalidates the security

    It appears that the URL is being redirected by the website, and not being changed by Firefox. I think you'll find that the URL will be changed if you try to visit the website in another web browser, too.

  • Validation on login page.

    Hi,
    I want to add some validation on the login page. if validation is wrong, show message, and the page do not redirect to the page 1 (home). However, the validation is not working.
    my example on:
    apex.oracle.com
    workspace : kiddoo_81
    username : tester
    password : tester
    the application (opp - 25575). i add the validation on page 101. the table related is opp_users.
    ~vincent

    Actually, i created a "validation" named "checkUser"
    when the user click on the login button, the validation will check before it login to the page 1 (home). in the validation, i want to valify whether the login user is authorize to use the system. So i creted a databased named opp_users, and the username much fit in order to login. however, when you type in invalid user name like
    vincent/vincent
    where the database do not have this record, it must come out my validation message instead of "Invalid Login Credentials".

  • How to change the error message Invalid login credentials

    Hi all,
    How to change the default error messages .
    1) In the Login page while giving wrong username or password .It showing
    Error message "Invalid login credentials".
    But requirement is change the above error message.
    2) I need to change the error message instead of "1 error has occureed"
    Thanks in Advance
    Sudhakar

    On the Login Page of the application create a 'Before Header' process with this code if  apex_application.g_notification ='Invalid Login Credentials' then
             apex_application.g_notification :='Your Altered Failed Login Message Here';
      end if;varad

  • Translation of "Invalid Login Credentials" message

    Hi
    I've application (just) in non-english language. Shared Component / Globalization / Text Messages works well for the translation of "Next/Prev", "Error" texts, but where to translate invalid login error message?
    Roman

    I do not assume you translate APEX into Czech language
    Not yet.
    Your function can redirect to a page that shows the message you like. For example, if you wanted to redisplay the login page with the message, just do something like this:
    owa_util.redirect_url('f?p=' || v('APP_ID') || ':101:' || v('APP_SESSION') || ':MSG' );
    apex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    return false;
    Then adjust your login page so that a message appears if the "request" value is 'MSG'. The redirect_url shown above sets the request value to 'MSG'. Normally the login page would not show the message because that request value would not be present.
