Invalid Member names

Is there a list of special characters that Essbase does not like in the outline. We are getting kickouts for a member starting with the "(" character.

Characters that are invalid at the beginning of a name:@ \ { } , - = < ( ) . + ' _ |For additional rules check under Rules for Naming Dimensions and Members in the DBAG

  • Error: 1012004 Invalid member name [Forecast- Active]

    Hi All,
    I have a command that copies Forecast Pending to Forecast Active...
    DATACOPY "Forecast"->"Pending" TO "Forecast"->"Active";
    This validates and runs fine, except it is not recommended practice to use Datacopy on dense dimensions, a more effective solution is to use the equals command..
    "Forecast"->"Active" = "Forecast"->"Pending"
    However, this gives me the following error in essbase...
    error: 1012004 Invalid member name [Forecast->Active]
    can we not assign multidimensions on the left hand side of the equation?
    Thanks,

    TO do this the formula has to be in a member block. Try wrapping the data opt. Ommand in
    in"forecast"(

  • BPC Office Client Error : "Invalid member name"

    Hi,
    we loaded data via SAP BI to our BPC generated cube, filling the category type dimension with a constant (V00) for identifying the actuals. Now when I try to run a report on the application via BPC Office Client, and I set the current view for the category type dimension to the constant 'V00', I receive an error message with says "Invalid member name" . However the member was manually added in the masterdata via the BPC Admin Console. Does anyone have an idea what causes this error ?

    It doesn't seems the process of dimension was working.
    So I suggest to process again that dimension from Admin console and after that into client side just do refresh dimension members.
    This should take away your error.
    Kind Regards

  • Member name contain invalid character '&'

    Hi,
    I am trying to deploy the HFM application in EPMA 11.1.2.1 and am getting the below error..
    "Member Name 'XXXX&xxxx' contains invalid character '&'"
    I thought member names support '&' character?
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance!
    PM

    Looks like they have a catch-all down further in the HFM admin guide:
    Loading Metadata_
    When you load a metadata file, Financial Management replaces metadata with new metadata
    from the load file. Replacement is useful for making minor changes to the metadata, such as
    adding an account. For example, if your application includes a North America entity and you
    load entities from a metadata file, the attributes for the North America entity in the file replace
    the attributes for the North America entity in the application.
    Note: Do not use the ampersand ( & ) character in a metadata file. If you do, an error occurs.
    Loading large metadata files on the Web can result in a proxy timeout error. If this occurs,
    increase the Web proxy timeout setting or use the Win32 client to load the file.

  • Backup 3.1 V356 .Mac member name or password is not set

    Hello,
    I recently changed my .Mac Password and since I have done so, backup fails with .Mac member name or password is not set when I try and backup my personal data to my iDisk.
    I read on the Backup help to delete all associations with .Mac in the Keychain, which I did (I had this error before deleting the Keychain error: Invalid .Mac user name or password
    Unable to complete backup at this time.) I believe I deleted all of them and now how the Member name or password is not set. My way of trying to fix this was by going to the finder and clicking on the iDisk. I did this, it prompted me for the Username and Password, I re-opened backup and still no joy.
    Can anybody else think of anything?
    Do I need to delete backup and re-install it or something?

    Things to try
    System Preferences in the Internet section, under the Account table, re-enter your .mac email address and password
    On your hard drive go to Library/Keychain and see if there are any values for .mac

  • Table(): invalid table name

    The following line is a part of a PLSQL procedure which takes object_reference as an argument.
    delete from table(deref(object_reference).nested_table) where column_value = 'something';
    Error: invalid table name. Why? How do I accomplish this correctly?

    Oracle 10.2 . Any table. It doesn't matter. Or does it?
    I'm trying to query against a nested table (also called collection) of an object to which I have a reference. This object may be in any (object) table. A more elaborate example:
    create type item_ty (
    code number
    create type items_ty as table of item_ty;
    create type box (
    items items_ty,
    member procedure put_item(code number),
    member function take_item(code number)
    create type body box is
    begin
    member procedure put_item(code number) is
    begin
    insert into table(deref(self).items) item_ty(code); -- ERROR: invalid table name
    end;
    member procedure take_item(code number) is
    begin
    delete from table(deref(self).items) where column_value = code; -- ERROR: invalid table name
    end;
    end;

  • "Invalid column name" when restoring SAP DM IFRS Starter Kit

    I want to share an issue that we came across when restoring the SAP Disclosure Management IFRS Starter Kit. Namely when trying to restore it on an environment we got the following error:
    Server Error in '/' Application.
    Invalid column name 'AccountExpirationDate'.
    Invalid column name 'PasswordChangedDate'.
    Invalid column name 'LastSuccessfulLoginDate'.
    In our case, after getting this error we tried restoring the SK on SAP Disclosure Management SP06 and it turned out to work ok so hope that this solves it for anyone else stuck at the same

    Hi Rajneesh,
    Check whether you have both the row-axis and column-axis of the input template through 'edit report'.
    Probably your input template has some member dimensions missing in your template.
    We have faced the same problem before and corrected it.
    This error occurs sometimes when we create a input template by clearing defining the row & column axis in the template but afterwards try some EPMOlapmember in any axis by deleting the original report elements.
    So check the input template once again. I think you will track the error.

  • Smarview: Member names as reference to another sheet

    Hi,
    Wonder if anyone has encountered this scenario and have a solution for it. I have a parameter tab in my workbook where I am having the users enter the member names of their selection. On the second tab, I built a retrieval based on the parameters on the first tab. First time I refresh, Smartview refreshes just fine. Second time I refresh, smartview changes the references to text and displays the reference formula. Refresh again and Smartview gives me an Invalid Grid error. Any ideas?

  • Adding dim property -  Error processing (Invalid column name)

    BPC 5.1 SP3
    I'm trying to add FormulaH1 and FormulaH2 properties to a user-defined dim containing two hierarchies. Properties are added and processed without any issues. However, when I subsequently try to process the member sheet, which has two new columns ("FormulaH1" and "FormulaH2"), I receive this error:
      - Error occurs during UpdateRemainData. Invalid column name 'formula13'.
    Column 13 in the member sheet contains the new "FormulaH2" property. (Column 12 has the "FormulaH1" property).
    Any ideas what might be causing this error? I do see the new columns added to the mbr table. I've tried changing the property lengths and "In App" settings---get the same error when processing the member sheet.
    Are there issues with added Formula properties to a user-def dim? Or, is there something else going on here?

    Answered my own question....
    I only need to add one property called "Formula". BPC will then add the H1 and H2 "property" columns in the member sheet.

  • Invalid column name 'formula6'.

    This error occurs when i attempt to process the dimension.   "- Error occurs during UpdateRemainData. Invalid column name 'formula6'."
    When I uncheck the InApp  FORMULAH1 and FORMULAH2 properties it process without error. When I have them as InApp, i get the error.
    Any ideas why this happens?
    thanks,
    Agnes

    To add to Sorin's explanation -- the ParentH1, ParentH2, FormulaH1, FormulaH2 properties are controlled by the system -- you must add these columns to the member sheet, and you must NOT add them manually as properties.
    It's never been clear to me exactly why it works this way, but that's how it works. There are a few other system-controlled properties (EvDescription, Calc, IsBaseMem, HIR, DimCalc are some, plus others that may vary by dimension type, such as TimeID) which are created as columns in the member table, but which don't need to be in the member sheet.
    Also note, if you only have one hierarchy ParentH1 (but no ParentH2), then you should use Formula (not FormulaH1). If you have 2 hierarchies, then use FormulaH1 and FormulaH2. At least, that's been my experience on BPC 5.0 and 5.1. Things may have changed slightly on BPC 7 M, and I'd bet that this has changed in even greater ways on BPC 7 NW.

    It seems to be something wrong into your dimension.
    Check the member 42S22 especially regarding hiereachy.
