"invalid mode specified" on Satellite 1625CDT

I'm trying to install Arch on a Satellite 1625CDT, and when I go to run the installer, it reboots immediately after loading the kernel.  When I boot PHLAK, Mepis, etc, I get an error:
invalid mode specified
with the option of fixing it.  I don't know anything about this.  Can I specify a framebuffer mode in the installer?  Does anyone know what I should specify?  Here's an info page on a similar model.  The graphics card might be an ATI Rage LT Pro?
Thanks!

Dammit!  Just when I think I'm all cool and have an Arch linux laptop.  I think you're right.
Hmm... That was creepy.  I was posting from beniro's computer...

  • Heap Error: Invalid Address specified to RtlValidateheap

    I have an OCCI program that connect to the Oracle database using Oracle\oraclient\9.2.0 and executes a query. I'm able to connect return a result set and actually display contents from the first row.
    However, as soon as I attempt to access the second row I get a heap error - - invalid address specified to RtlValidateHeap.
    I've seen other post where changing the type of run-time library under the Code Generation options of the compiler made a difference. Here, I've tried them all: /MTd, /MLd, /MDd but to no avail.
    I'm using Visual C++ 6.0 and linking in occi library oraocci9.lib.
    The line of code that's getting the error is the following:
    while ( resultSet->next () )
    no problem in getting the first row. Its the second next that dies.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    When I build the App with a RELEASE build instead of a DEBUG build this problem goes away.
    Apparently there is a bug in the oraocci9.lib regarding allocating on the Heap for DEBUG builds.
    While reading the other post on this forum I've discovered that I need the 9.2.04 version of the oraocci9.lib and oraocci9.dll that have been linked with MSVCRTD.dll, which is required to use in Debug mode for MSVC.
    It's unfortunate that this bug is not documented in the OCCI Programmer's manual that is available online. I could have saved myself a lot of time.
    Where can I find the most up-to-date patches for Oracle 9i?
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    Are these files available as standalone downloads on the Oracle web site? I haven't seen them. I don't want to download the entire database if I can avoid it. I just need the upgraded version of oraocci9.lib.

  • Error occurred while installing the application: Invalid device specified

    Error occurred while installing the application: Invalid <device> specified i am getting this error on windows. How to solve that.

    Hi there.
    I know this is an old post, but I fell here having this same problem for some weeks now, and i just figured my issue. Hope it help others:
    My iPhone is connecting automatically with my itunes on computer. Not really sure what type of connection or wireless sync, but the fact is that it IS connecting.
    For some weird reason it gets Flash Builder crazy and it cannot find the right device anymore. Even when I get my iPhone connected by cable, it says that it found the device, but doesn`t publish to it. The Flash Builder says that it was published, but nothing gets installed, and the debugger cannot connect.
    MY SOLUTION (for now): Turn off the phone wi-fi, so it gets out of my home network. works like a charm and I finally can test on my device again.
    Really hope this helps.

    CA Forum: Performance Management and Dashboards
    I am getting the following error message in the log file "ORA-24373: invalid length specified for statement" when trying to refresh a metric via dashboard manager. The metric has been successfully refreshed previously. The only change that I am aware of is that more data has been added to the underlying database (Oracle 10g).
    There are a number of different filters on the metric - some work ok - some give the above error.
    Can anyone help?

  • Why do i get a return comment of 'user account is in INVALID mode' when i send a pic email via cell

    my printer is the hp 3050a deskjet all in one j611g . when i send pics from phone via email, the return message via email says' user account is in INVALID mode'. why is this and how do i fix it?

    Hi shannee7, it may be because the Web Services function on your printer was removed. You could try re-enabling Web Services, which will print a new printer code by:
    Pressing the ePrint button on your printers front panel
    Scrolling down to "Remove Web Services" and selecting OK
    To re-enable Web Services press the ePrint button on the front panel
    Select OK to accept the terms of the service
    Front panel display should read "Downloading from Web" and a new Web Services info sheet should print out with a new code for your printer.
    If you have setup an ePrintCenter account you can log in and update your printers e-mail address  using the new code
    Let me know how you get on

  • "Invalid printer specified" for 32bit Windows Service in 64bit Server

    Hi All,
    I'm having some issues with crystal reports.
    My development environment:
    Visual Studio 2008, 32bit Windows XP
    Running environment:
    Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 64 bit
    Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008 (x86)
    I've created two applications: one is console application and one is windows service. Both application run same codes to print crystal reports to printers and run at 32 bit. I can have multiple instance of console application running without any issues. When I run the windows service version, the first time the service works fine. But after I restarted the windows server, the crystal report throw Sysstem.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException.
    The detail of the exception is:
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80000201):
    Invalid printer specified.
       at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputControllerClass.ModifyPrinterName(String newVal)
       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.PrintOptions.set_PrinterName(String value)
       at Company.PrintReport(ReportClass report, String printerName)
    Both console application and windows service run at 32 bits. The user runs the service is domain controller who has admin permission. And the same problem happened on an web application hosted on IIS of the same server.
    What I've done so far:
    1. Set the printer option in the report to no printer
    2. Try install the crystal report x64
    3. For the windows service build for x86.
    Please some one help me in this.
    Cheers

    That is a rather strange issue.
    Make sure you are killing the report object once you're doen with it. E.G;
    Dim report as New ReportDocument
    Protected Sub Page_load()
    End Sub
    Private Page_Unload()
    report.close()
    report.dispose()
    GC.Collect
    End Sub
    //C# (on form open):
    private void WebForm1_Init(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
        if (boReportDocument != null)
            boReportDocument.Close();
            boReportDocument.Dispose();
            GC.Collect();
    // C# on form close
    private void Page_Unload(object sender, EventArgs e)
            if (boReportDocument != null)
            { boReportDocument.Close();
                boReportDocument.Dispose();
                GC.Collect();
    If closing and disposing does not help, is htis happening on your dev computer or after you move that app to another server?

  • Invalid Address specified to RtlSizeHeap

    I get this error when using some functions of the word2000 function panel.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

    Hi Gris,
    Thanks for the update.  I am glad to hear that the demo works as expected!  I have done some research into this error, and it seems it can sometimes be caused by improper allocation and/or deallocation of memory.  Make sure that you are properly allocating and deallocating memory in your application.  The demo is a great place to start to compare your code to see if there are any functions that are missing or out of order, perhaps.  Also, you might try setting breakpoints and stepping through sections of code before and after this function in your code that it is hanging to make sure that the references you are passing in are, in fact, being referenced properly.  Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding this.  Thanks, Gris.  Have a great day!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
    With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
    See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should do exactly as the message you reported indicates -- contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • No email - INVALID mode + server down

    Hi, just noticed that I haven't received any mails to my phone for 3 days (shows how much I use the email function I guess!). Anyhow, I keep getting the error message that user account is in INVALID mode; when I try to re-register my email address via the setup wizard I get the further error message "your device encountered a problem with this application's server". • 15454 APS Invalid Mode (Cant Clear)

    I have multiple APSIMP in my network, they are on OC12-LR-1310 cards.  I have rounded down that the problem is only on OC12's that are tied to "Ericcson Media Gateway" and Adtran Opti 6100.  I have verified that both devices are configured for 1+1 protection.
    Wondering if anyone has had this trouble and knows of a solution.

    hey mike,
    Lately, i was implementating network connections with products of Huawei , alcatel and my own company i.e a US product.
    The same APS Invalid mode failure alarm generated in my own company's product.
    When other vendors (Huawei, Alcatel) inserting  temporarily "000" in 6-8 bits of K2 byte, Invalid APS  mode failure alarm needs to be terminated in my company's Equipments. This alarm needs to be terminated by your product i.e ericsson.
    This is considered to be an undesirable alarm .
