Invalid Web Service URL Error

I am trying to access define a new webservice system using the WSDL for my local queryview web service.  When I put in the WSDL URL it comes back with a "Invalid Web Service URL" error.  If I put the URL in the Browser address, it successfully brings back the web service information.  Any ideas why I can't define this web service system?
http://<server>:8001/sap/bw/xml/soap/queryview?sap-client=040&wsdl=1.1
<server> is a token for posting concerns...
Thanks!

I am imagining that the BW QUERY_VIEW_DATA web service complies to the Basic Profile 1.0.
And I don't quite understand this part?
<i>In addition, connections to Web services for SAP backend systems must be performed via logical destinations (configured in the SAP J2EE engine with the Visual Administrator) and not via portal systems</i>
Since the QUERY_VIEW_DATA Web Service resides on my BW system is the BW system considered a SAP backend system?  Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

  • "invalid web service URL" error for create web service system

    Hi.
    I want to call web service in visual composer and try to create Web Service definition.
    When I push create button in visual composer, I got "invalid web service URL" error.
    My web service is located in SAP ABAP System and I can check WSDL URL in web service homepage.
    (http://mycompany.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZTEST?sap-client=500&wsdl=1.1)
    Any ideas for this error ?
    Regards, Arnold.

    Hi
    Please can you create the web service in the portal as a portal system, this will work and you will be able to see the service in Visual Composer.

  • Invalid Web service URL

    Hi All,
    While creating a model in VC7.0 based on an external webservice(ex: http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl), I ended-up with Invalid Web service URL error.
    Note: When I access the same  WSDL URL using browser it didn't ask me for user authentication, the XML file was opened neatly.
    Please assist.
    FYI- Portal Version is NW2004s SP16.
    Kind regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Fabien,
    Thanks for your feedback.
    Yes, I had tried with simple and local one, and found success in that as well.
    But, this time I would like to create a model based on the some 3rd party webservice available in internet.
    If you know few simple 3rd party webservice available in internet as like the one I have mentioned in my initial post, that would be helpful to me.
    Many thanks.
    Kind regards,
    Vijay

  • SSO Exception Invalid Session: Service URL not found:session

    I am running AM 7 (installed from JES) under Sun Web Server 6.1.
    The Policy Agent is installed in Tomcat 5.5 (on the same box).
    I am getting the exception: SSO Exception Invalid Session: Service URL not found:session
    when I try to run the SSO Serlvet example.
    I have searched the forum and found many people get this error and the advice seems to be check the config file. The Agent config file (AMAgent.properties) has all the right parameters in it (matches the server just fine because I authenticate before getting to the serlvet).
    I've tried to set the naming url thru the JVM command line args and programatically. I've been thru the client SDK install chapter many times.
    Still getting the same error.
    Help!
    Jason

    More info: I set the debug level in the AM server to message and in the amSSOProvider log, I get several Invalid Session ID.
    How could this be when I just successfully authenticated???
    I can also go to other protected web pages, and AM does not force me to reauthenticate, so obviously the cookie is good.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • What to specfify in CA Reporting services integration (Report server web service URL) when using SSL for both SharePoint and SSRS?

    Hello,
    We are using Sharepoint 2010 and SQL Server reporting services 2008 R2.    We have the sharepoint site bound to port 443 using a certificate.   We also have the same certificate bound in the reporting services configuration manager's
    web service URL tab.    In CA should we put the SSL URL or the non SSL URL?    Right now in CA it has the then non SSL URL,
    http://fakehostname/ReportServer_REPORTSERVICE.     We have some sporadic issues and I am wondering if setting this to our SSL URL will help.    Please let me know
    if you have any questions.
    Thanks,
    Sean

    Hi,
    Regarding this issue, it should be no issue for setting (https) according :

    I notice you mentioned that you have some sporadic issues, what are these issue? If there are errors, please post the detailed information about the errors.
    What is the mode type of SQL Server Reporting Service, native mode or SharePoint mode?

  • BODS SOAP Web Service Connection error RUN-248005

    Hi Experts,
    I need help connecting SOAP web service to BODS. We have configured the initial set up by importing the functions from the WSDL that was provided to us. The WSDL provided us with a request and reply schema as follows:
    We then created the data service job that would consume the function call. An overview of the dataflow is as follows:
    When we run the job with null values for the source table the job returns no errors, but returns no data either into the destination table (Which we think is to be expected because we have no parameters to search on). If we add a value to the source table that is a required field for WSDL GET function (sys_ID) the job runs, but produces the error shown below:
    We configured the data flow by using a reference document that can be found at this link: http://www.dwbiconcepts.com/etl/23-etl-bods/158-web-service-call-in-sap-data-services.html.
    Any help in regards to why we are getting a “No response to web service error” would be much appreciated! Also, if further detail is needed please feel free to ask.

    Yes we did make progress. Follow the steps listed below.
    Pre-Configuration
    A WSDL for BODS can be provided from your vendor (Amazon or Twitter) or created in-house.  In my tutorial I will be using ServiceNow.  ServiceNow is a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider of IT service management (ITSM) software.
    The WSDL provided should look like this:
               https://<instance>.service-now.com/incident.do?WSDL
    To verify that the WSDL works you can open it in a browser to see the xml schema.  Since the WSDL is HTTPS the browser will prompt you to enter credentials in order to view it.  The username and password will need to be provided to you from vendor you are trying to connect to.
    BODS requires that any web service connection that is https to have a certificate saved to its internal configuration on the job server where the application resides. The certificate is referenced when the call goes out to verify authentication.
    You can get the server certificate from the vendor who is providing the web service or you can also download the certificate from the browser and save it in base64 binary encoded format to a file and use that.  In my example I will be using Firefox to export.
    if you have fire fox, then on the left side before the URL Address bar there will be a lock icon, click on view certificate, select the details tab, select the *.service- now.com  and click on export, in the dialog box, select the Save as type X.509 Certificate (PEM), you can save this with any name on your machine.
    Now go to the JobServer machine, go to %LINK_DIR%\ext\ folder, open axis2.xml in notepad,
    since it's https uncomment the following tag (transportReceiver)
    <!--transportReceiver name="https" class="axis2_http_receiver">
    <parameter name="port" locked="false">6060</parameter>
    <parameter name="exposeHeaders" locked="true">false</parameter>
    </transportReceiver-->
    it should look line something below
    <transportReceiver name="https" class="axis2_http_receiver">
    <parameter name="port" locked="false">6060</parameter>
    <parameter name="exposeHeaders" locked="true">false</parameter>
    </transportReceiver>
    uncomment the following tag (transportSender) and comment out the parameter KEY_FILE and SSL_PASSPHRASE, enter the complete location of the certificate that you saved from the browser in the SERVER_CERT parameter. you can save the certificate also in this folder
    <!--transportSender name="https" class="axis2_http_sender">
    <parameter name="PROTOCOL" locked="false">HTTP/1.1</parameter>
    <parameter name="xml-declaration" insert="false"/>
    </transportSender>
    <parameter name="SERVER_CERT">/path/to/ca/certificate</parameter>
    <parameter name="KEY_FILE">/path/to/client/certificate/chain/file</parameter>
    <parameter name="SSL_PASSPHRASE">passphrase</parameter>
    -->
    this should look like
    <transportSender name="https" class="axis2_http_sender">
    <parameter name="PROTOCOL" locked="false">HTTP/1.1</parameter>
    <parameter name="xml-declaration" insert="false"/>
    </transportSender>
    <parameter name="SERVER_CERT">enter the certificate path</parameter>
    <!--parameter name="KEY_FILE">/path/to/client/certificate/chain/file</parameter-->
    <!--parameter name="SSL_PASSPHRASE">passphrase</parameter-->
    save this file and open this file is browser to make sure that the XML is valid

  • Web service URL configuration for Xcelsius in BO XI3.1

    Currently we can evaluate the BOE R2 and BOE XI3.1, and we are facing such a problem:
    In R2, we configure the Web service URL for Tomcat in "...\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF\web.xml
    ", there is a parameter called "crystalxcelsius.webconnectorurl", we configure it like this:
    <context-param>
            <param-name>crystalxcelsius.webconnectorurl</param-name>
            <param-value>
                 http://XX:8080/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/queryasaservice
            </param-value>
    </context-param>
    How can we do the same configuration in BOE XI3.1?
    We cannot find the same web.xml because the folder structure has changed.
    After we deployed the Xcelsius dashboards from BOE R2 to BOE XI3.1, it failed and the error message shows:"Unable to load URL...".

    The Xcelsius team is investigating this issue. We'll update you when possible. Meanwhile here is a suggestion from another user.
    "The web service url setting was removed from XI R3 due to the changes in InfoView/CMC client action framework in XI R3. In XI R3, there are multiple web.xml files instead of just one web.xml. The parameters defined in Xcelsius' web.xml cannot be accessed by Crystal Report or WebI...
    Anyway, I have a workaround might work (I never tried it myself). In Xcelsius design time, add a flashvars range name "CEWebServiceURL" and bind the value of this range to a cell that has the url of the web service you want to use at run-time. The SWF should use this url to refresh LiveOffice at run-time."

    To enable rest support there are some instructions below:
    Before undertaking this process, I recommend backing up the file(s)
    you are going to edit.
    By default REST is disabled in Axis 2. We need to enable it. We
    need to go to the following folder. Assuming D: is the installation drive:
    1.     D:\Program
    Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf (for 32 Bit OS)
    or D:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\conf (for 64 Bit OS)
    2.     There is a file with the name axis2.xml (This file is an XML File and contains many parameters as well as many other things).
    3.     Make a backup copy of the filename you are about to edit.
    4.     Open the axis2.xml file in Notepad or 'XML Editor' to edit
    5.     Search for the word REST (Ctrl & F is probably easiest)
    6.     You will see a line like this
    <parameter name="disableREST" locked="true">true</parameter>
    We need to replace' true' with 'false' to enable REST, and after the changing that line will look like following:
    <parameter name="disableREST" locked="true">false</parameter>
    7.     Save the file and restart the web server.

  • Web Service deploy error

    Hello everyone!
    I've created a Web Service from a VI. This VI has two inputs values: a String and and Int8 and one single output: an array of DBL values (array of 1x3). Both inputs and outputs are well connected through the Connector Pane.
    So, in the Project>> Build Spedifications I've created WS, builded with the Advanced>> Use LabVIEW 8.x file layout option checked, in the WebService(RESTful) settings dialog. The problem appear when I try to deploy this WS. The next error is shown:
    Error LabVIEW: (Hex 0xFFFEF84D) LabVIEW Web Services: An error occurred when extracting the deployed Web service. Rebuild the Web service by selecting the "Use LabVIEW 8.x file layout" option in the Advanced tab of the web Service properties dialog.
    How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    This is exactly what I've done! I build my web services with this option checked. I don't know the reason why the error still persist.
    I attach a zip file containing the Web Services VI and other VI needed. If you coult try to build the WS and deploy it...

    Could not load file or assembly 'iiglotg3.dll' or one of its dependencies.
    Access is denied..
    Looks like a permission issue or maybe the assembly don't exists on the server where the package is running; you should check that first.

  • Web service task: Error when returning an empty array

    Hi,
    I've encountered an annoying error when using a Web Service Task from an SSIS package in SQL Server Data Tools.
    [Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Index was outside the bounds of the array..
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser)
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
    It seems that the Web Service Task generates this error when returning an empty response from the WSDL. I've seen several topics about this here on MSDN but they are all from 2008-2009 and seem to suggest that
    this is a bug.  The workaround suggested is using a script task but I would really love to avoid that since my programming skills are lacking.
    I'm using Visual studio 2010 with SP1.

    Hello,
    From my own experience: in all the cases where I had to use SSIS 2008 to retrieve data or send data to Webservices, I had to revert to using Script Tasks or Script components. Whenever I tried with a Web service task, because the job looked simple, I had
    to abandon it in favour of Scripts. Keep in mind that I try to make use of the SSIS components as often as possible, before reverting to Scripting. But handling web services is the one exception, where I always use scripts. In SSIS 2012 I did not find
    any significant improvement of the Web service task and hence no compelling reason to use it.
