Inventory Management, Sales company of 20 people.

I want a program for inventory management for a company with 20 reps using ipads, all of the reps have ipads. We want to be able to monitor the reps inventory so that we can actively track the movement. Very important, this is not to track the sales of inventory, the actual distribution of inventory is done from the headquarters, and the inventory the reps have is for samples or distribution of inventory in the event that the product is needed immediately.
Basically we have a warehouse that monitors the inventory, but there are instances where a rep will give another rep a product to bring to the warehouse. And it becomes damaged or doesn't make it back, and then we have a hesaid/shesaid situation. So to avoid this I would like an application on the IPAD where we can actively tracky inventory.
If possible I'd like to be able to attach pictures, or scan the bar codes for every transaction as evidence of the transfer.
Now i don't know if this is beyond the capability of any apps available for the ipad, but to me it sounds as though this need is most likely very common for sales companies of any size.
I appreciate all of the help.

I'm still looking for a good answer. Most of the products I've come across have been more sales based and aimed at tracking sales. They seem more focused on revenues and such.
Even if someone knows a website that is accessible from an Ipad that would be great. I see 110 people have looked at this and not one response, so i'm starting to wonder if anyone knows the answer. I'm willing to register and pay an annual fee for all of the accounts we would have signed up.
Once again, thanks.

  • Inventory Management (production company) - how do you do it?

    Hi Experts
We need a tool (report) which can help controlling the inventory (for a production company) and thereby support the persons who order materials etc. so that they know what materials to order and how much to order etc. The tool should be able to give ex recommendation on which materials to order based on the avg. movements in the stock and current demand.
The goal is to support the people who orders materials to have more acurate stock levels and thereby avoid running out a stock and having to much stock.
In that relation I have two questions:
    1. Do you know any business content report/flow which can be activated for a purpose like this?
    2. Have you got any experience in inventory management for production companies? In case you have please let me know about the solution you implemented/know about.
Thanks a lot and kind regards,
    Torben

    Pedersen,
    1. Do you know any business content report/flow which can be activated for a purpose like this?
--> Yes, Standard business content available for Inventory management for reporting purpose.

    2. Have you got any experience in inventory management for production companies? In case you have please let me know about the solution you implemented/know about.
--> Based on above content we can check stock levels, moments(receipts & issues) and also slow moving.
--> But these content purely for repoting purpose only. How you want to build data on top of this...? and how you want to pass same information to raise an order...?

  • SAP Inventory management interface with Third party Warehouse System

    Hi Experts,
Need your input for designing the SAP solution with existing Third party warehouse system ( Exacta ):-
SAP ERP will be implemented for all locations of Client ( SAP MM, FI, PS , HR etc ).The Client has 10 distribution centres which are on Exacta Warehouse systems and will be linked with SAP Inventory management system.
The way it will work - Goods receipt will always happen in SAP for all locations and then interface needs to Trigger subsequent Putaway activities at Exacta Ware house ( third party warehouse system) for those 10 locations.
Goods Issue for these locations will happen from Exacta and then update will be posted in SAP via interface.
All locations will be created as Plant /Storage locations in SAP.
Need your inputs what special configurations need to happen in SAP for those locations so that goods receipt in SAP can trigger putaway activities in Exacta system .
Do we need to do configuration for decentralised Warehouse in SAP for handling this?
Pl. give your inputs based on your past experience where you handled such scenarios via interface with SAP Inventory management and legacy warehouse systems.
Thanks for quick response on this.

This is a std business process where clients have used their existing warehousing systems but implemented SAP forother functions such as Order entry, inventory mgmt and procurement, financials.
The typical interface that needs to happen is
    1. Sales order ( and or delivery)
    2. Invetory needs to be passed to the WH. Typically people send it when SAP GR takes place.
    3. When WH system does picking, it sends signal to SAP which then does PGI for the sales order delivery and that takes the stock out of the system.
Material master has to be transferred or mapped between two systems. Also, other elements need to be mapped between two systems.
The way I have seen this happening is :
you have an output on the SAP GR process. That creates an idoc to the WH system. Based on the capabilities of the WH system, it then does appropriate actions in the system.
Many times, middlewares are used to translate/ map the data between SAP and the WH systems.
So system wise, there is ALE setup that needs to take place for IDOC creations.
Configuration and coding is required for the output type and the program behind it. There are several std FUnction Modules that can be used for this.
    Hope this helps.

  • POS and inventory management suggestions?

  • Inventory Management Negative Values

    Hello Experts -
I'm working on an inventory management report and we're in BI 7.0.
In the report, the valuated stock quantity is a non-cumulative key figure with inflow as receipt stock qty and outflow as issue stock qty.
In my transformation, I'm taking care of the process keys and multiplying by -1 when the keys are 100, 101, 104, 105, 106, 110. I'm doing that for qty as well as for $ figures.
But when I look into valuated stock qty in my report, I'm seeing negative values for movement type 602 which is a return. Earlier this was a positive value.
For movement type 601 which is a sales, I'm seeing positive values which used to be a negative value.
Basically, the figures got reversed even though I'm multiplying by -1 only on one set of process keys such as 100, 101, 104, 105, 106, 110.
Is it ok to have negative figures when dealing with movement types?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As always, points will be granted.
    Thanks!

I want to create a Stock tansport order ( plant to plant transfer) with  stock & non-stock item and non stock item is giving an error  "Material not subject to inventory management in Plant".  Please tell me how to clear this error.   Plant / SLOC view is already maintained and no qty/value update selected on the material type because of non stock item.   Please tell me how to overcome this error on the STO

    Hello,
As you said you want to move nonstock item through STO.
It seems that in your case say for example your plant 1000 has material ABC which is maintained as stock item.
Now you have another plant 2000, whaich has same material ABC which is maintained as non-stock item (generally used in third party sales or cross docking).
If your material ABC is nonstock in plant 2000 where no stocks are mainatined,  then how can you move the stock to plant 1000 where it is stock item.
Could you please confirmthat can you see the stock in MMBE for plant where that material is maintained as non stock item.
If so, then  you have chnage the plant specific material status for that plant from non stock item to stock item.
This is maintained in material master in purchasing view.
The other way out is you have to third party sales with ship to party as the plant where that item is maintained as stock item.
    In this case flow is
Sales order>>Purchase requistion>>Purchase order>>(Vendor supplies material directly to customer (which is you plant where that item is stock item))

  • MM-Based inventory management & Replenishment -based Inventory Management

    Hi,
Can any one through me some light on the difference between "MM-Based inventory management" & "Replenishment -based Inventory Management" in IS-Retail.
Is it something related to planning, If so what is the difference.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shakthi Rajkumar.

    Hi
In retail scenario the replenishment can happen in two ways
    (1) From DC to Stores
    (2) Directly from vendor to Distribution center.
However the above two scenarios follow the following push / pull strategy to replenish the material.
Case 1 : From DC to Stores
    How the push occurs ?
    Store orders/sales orders
Automatic store orders/sales orders from different POS system
    Auto replenishment
    How the pull occurs ?
    Allocation of merchandise purchased
Case 2 : Directly from vendor to Distribution center.
    How the push occurs?
    Reorder point planning
    Forecast based planning
    Time phased planning
    How the pull occurs?
    Allocation
    Manual purchase orders
Hope this clarifies your doubts how the replenishment happens in retail scenario
    Reward if useful

  • How to use price list in inventory management documents (without SO module)

    Hi all
I want to setup sales prices for items and I am using inventory management module of jd edwards enterpriseone.
Is there any possibility in which I can use the sales price items functionality.
So after I enter the sales price for each items in specific conditions, is there any possibility for these prices to be automatically shown anytime I enter a inventory issue or any other document which has to do with the issuing of the items.
    Please suggest

    Hello,
You can setup Item Sale price through the P4106 application in inventory management. But since your requirement is quite customised, Inventory Issue dont have such functionality to populate Item Sale Price when you are issuing items eventhough you create/change doctype. It will only be populate Item Cost and Extended cost.

  • Manage stock qty. in Storage bin for Inventory management

I want to know is there any method in Inventory Managment to Manage stock of specific material in bin also.
Means User exactly should know the stock of specific material is located in Storage Bin.
Please suggest me the hole process or any customization
    Regards,
    Vraj

    Hi V raj,
I don't know whether i understood your question well. But i will answer in the way i understood.
To serve your requirement you need to have a Warehouse management, means to have a smooth warehouse bin wise storage.
But some companies are not willing to implement WM and they are finding a way with batch classification. They maintain batches for material and storage bin are maintain in a batch classification. So you can view it in MMBE also by going into the batch classification of the relevant batch.
And if you want to have a detail report you can develop a simple report or a query to retrieve batch classification data.
    For batch classification activation:
    1. Material must maintain "Batch management" tick in Purchasing and storage plant data views
    2. Create a seperate class for this using CL02
3  Create batch characteristic using CT04 (this is to maintain Storage Bin)
    4. Add classification view to each material and the relevant batch class.
    5. When you are doing the GR use "Batch" tab and "Classification" button to maintain relevant Storage bin data. (To update mass scale you can create a "Z" report getting help of a developer in your company)
    6. Now each batch you are maintained your storage bin view it trough MMBE (But only one batch classification) or in-house developed report ("Z") program

  • Database design (ERD )for Inventory Management System

    Dear All,
I am going to develop a simple Inventory Management System software using C# .NET for my learning. After searching different forums, many people have suggested to first create a database design for the software. I want a database design, in short, an ERD
diagram for simple Inventory Management System which shows proper entities(tables), attributes and relationship between entities.
It would be highly helpful for me as I am newbie to C# and databases.
    Thanks,
    momersaleem

    Dear Rebecca,
    Thanks for you suggestions.
As I am going to develop IMS for learning purposes so I think I wouldn't need to go in detail regarding Customer name and addresses. However, I am still thinking of adding country attribute in customers' table which I think will be helpful to sort out customers.
What's the difference between a purchase and an order?  They're usually the same thing, which doesn't mean you're
wrong, but what are you picturing here? Purchase entity will be used to keep record of purchases you made and an order entity will be used to keep record of orders that cutomers placed.
    Pricing:
Any order system needs to manage two very distinct bits of data that are easy to confuse. The price in the Product entity is the current
price. The price in the Order entity is the selling
price. Not at all the same thing--current price is almost certainly going to change over time. Selling price won't.
Does it mean that I'll change the price attribute for product to current_price and add selling_price to order table which will help to keep record of price at the time of order?
Why did you include a quantity field in the Products table? Is it meant to represent stock on hand?
Yes you are right. It represents stock in hand.
Could you please recheck the entities relationships as I am not confirmed whether these are correct or not?
    Thanks,
    momersaleem

  • Unserialized for inventory management?

    Hi,
why unserialized update for inventory management, why not direct update and delta queue.
    regards
    anitha.

    Hi Anitha,
SAP Inventory Management system allows you to manage stocks on a quantity and value basis in order to plan, enter, check goods movements and carry out physical inventories.
Enables users to manage all the items purchased, manufactured, sold, or kept in stock. Services can also be defined as items, although they are relevant only for sales.
For each item, users enter the data relevant for a particular area in the system. This data is used automatically by the system for purchasing, sales, production, inventory management, and accounting.
Provides optimum support for business processes. Helps create orders, delivery notes, and outgoing invoices, automatically calculating prices, sales units, and gross profit. Enables complete control over stock quantities at all times and lets users analyze the financial aspects of stockholding at the same time. Allows users to control production on the basis of the items that are used for production and on the basis of the finished product and any by-products created.

I am looking for organization structure specific to inventory management and also data flow architecture.
    > If there is any standard org structure is available please share with me.
    Hi Vijay,
Standard Org Structure for IM starts with Plants and ends with Storage Locations. You can create required no of storage locations under your plants, where plants are assigned to company codes. Its always better to copy from master plant 1000/0001 while creating the plants where you can make changes during creation where required (factory calendar etc).
All the material movements within the plant happen between storage locations, material-material, special stocks-unrestricted stocks with no accounting effect.
Movements between the plants can be planned wrt your needs such as STO with no financial postings unless you have plant wise PCA
You can follow the standard avaiable structure for your IM org structure.
