Inventory - MBEW and MBEWH (Extractors)

Hello,
I understood that using the extractor 0CO_PC_ACT_05 is possible to execute a load to bring the current period, previous period and last period of the previous year. If for the go-live, the requirement is from last period on, then I suppose the cube 0COPC_C04 will store all periods. So in December 2007, if the user wants to see the inventory evolution of a material since July, it is possible. However I noticed that the table MBEWH uses for month LFMON which is not in the standard. The standard uses FISCPER. Besides, when there is no movement in the month, the standard seems to bring zero for inventory, when it would be correct to repeat last month value. Could you please clarify these concepts?

Regarding BW standard extractor for material valuation ( MBEW and MBEWH )

Hi All
I would like to extract data from MBEW and MBEWH tabels to get material valuation information. Is there any standard extractor avaiable to fect this this information to BW? I have seacrhed forums , some one suggested to use 0CO_PC_ACT_05 extractor but they have also mentioned it would not fetct data from history table MBEWH table. I need to extract full information based on both the tabels for all the years.
Is there any extractor available?

Hi Vennela:
We did not use any DSO from standard content. We created a custom write optimized DSO with the same key fields as MBEW.
We do a delete data and full reload every night.
Then we load 0MATPLANT from the DSO.
We also do a currency conversion to convert all prices to USD and load a custom attribute of 0MATPLANT to hold USD prices.
These material prices will get over written every day with the current valuation for that day.
Thats our data flow.
We did not have a requirement to hold history from MBEWH. you might be able to hold history within BW if you load the data into another DSO with a extra key field for the system date of the day you are loading data for.

Stock report using mbew and mbewh

Hi to all.
i want to prepare o report for month end stock.
i am preparing this report using tables mbew and mbewh..
as per my knowledge goes the current stock is in the table mbew and history stock is in the table mbewh.
i am picking up the current data from the mbew and history data from mbewh..
the report is working fine till for january to august..
but i dont know what wrong happen when i run it for the last month of previous year i.e 01/12/2005.
it is showing some data difference for this period and also due to this some difference for earlier periods..
please suggest me what could be the reason..
because i have worked a lot on it and it is also working fine for this year...
also tell me what could be the problem..
i will surely reward back with points..

Report for historic valuation of material-MBEW and MBEWH

Hello,
Our client needs a report that shows the value of stock of past period, the medium price during last exercises. Actually they have a Z report that show all this data, considering the data on MBEWH. The problem is that MBEWH only is updated if there is a price change (for example MR21) or a goods receipt. This table only will be changed when in the comiing month a material have any movement of stock.
My question, if we catch the values LFGJA and LFMON OF MBEW table we consider the last change of price, and the key for entering to MBEWH table to get the past values.
I have checked too, the MC.9 transaction. Looks like fine too, but if we can develop a program for accessing to the S039 table, this table is transparent table and we can not get any data. The data is providing from S032 table, and I have seen, that this table sometimes contains insconsistency values or negative values.
Is there another transaction to get our client's requeriments???

Hope you are an ABAPer. If not also, you can achieve this through an ABAPer. As mentioned by others, you need to check whether your requirement is met by the standard transaction MB5B. You need to check whether this transaction gives you the exact opening and closing balance for a material. If this gives what you want, then you need to make some small enhancement in the MB5B report program so that you will be getting the result of the opening and closing stock. In this enhancement you will use EXPORT to export the result to your program where you can IMPORT it. This procedure is explained in detail in a document created in SCN dated 30th November, 2012 by Sijin Siji. Have a look in that.
That document is descriptive and it will be helping you in solving this issue. If you have any doubts, please revert back.

Function Module to get values from MBEW and MBEWH

All,
I searched in SDN but could not find a suitable answer.
Is there a SAP standard Function Module which gives the physical ending inventory (total stock) for a given period. all hsitoric values to be pulled from MBEWH.

Hi Kunal,
all these extraxt structures/ datasources are event driven Delivery extractor are purely based on even VC i.e. creating, changing or deleting deliveries.
while shipment ones are also influenced by VA & few others, mailing you a document on SD extarction, see if that helps.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of standard and specific extractor?

I suggest you tou use standard datasources to get that information. Its a very complex tables scheme to get that data.
I think there are not disadvantages in using standard.

To make a report of sales orders and purchasing information you don't need to get all the information in one datasource. You can create two cubes and then use a multiprovider to get the information combined.

The information behind the blue-button for MI34, MI38 (as you mentioned) does not have enough detail. It's basically one-page. Is there another instructional source available? How is the logical file MMIM_PHYSICAL_INVENTORY_DOCUMENTS tied to the physical, can you clarify? Not sure how to determine where the sequential file being processed needs to be located. Thanks!

Assuming you are referring to WM inventory, it is very similar. Inventory is conducted at the SU level in WM if you are HU managed. One of the most widely known issues is the lack of ability to post differences of nested HUs at the WM level. If you are not using nested HUs, the process is the same as storage unit management without handling unit management.

Table MBEW and MVEW Difference?

Hi Guys,
Whats the difference btween MBEW and MVEW i can see both for material valuation. If i enter data in material costing (From Material Master Transaction) it is appending entries in MBEW why not in MVEW.
The second thing is whats the use of table MBEW_TMP (File for Incorrect data in direct Input) it also not appending entries from transaction material master as i said before.
Please share your knowledge, looking for your reply.

There is no such table MVEW
The material valuation table MBEW is availabe in SAP...

You may notice a difference in available space statistics between Disk Utility, Finder, and Get Info inspectors. This is expected and can be safely ignored. The Finder displays the available space on the disk without accounting for the local snapshots, because local snapshots will surrender their disk space if needed.

ODS, Inventory cube, and WM- Trying to run a report but not working! Help

Hope somebody can help me here....
I have an Inventory Cube and an ODS on Material Plant and another on Warehouse Management. For my reports I need fields from three of them so I created a Multi Provider by using these. But I have only Material and Plant as common in three of them, which is used in defining the Multi Provider. Along with these I have used some more characteristics which are not common. So now when I run a query on this MP, I am getting a display wherein the common characteristics get the values that are correct but for uncommon chars the values for the kfs from other data targets become blank and an additional row comes too.
For example, I have kfs like Blocked stock in the cube and in one of the ODS I have kfs like standard price. So, in the query for the char material group which comes from the ODS there are no values for Blocked stock, I mean I can see a row wherein there is a value for Blocked stock and a blank for Standard Price, in the additional row there is a blank for Blocked stock and a value for Standard price. This is the case with all the other kfs of different info providers.
Is it because they are not common in all the info providers? Is there anyway to solve this? RRI will not work as I need the KFs from both the info providers.
I am stuck now with this problem, so any guidence would be a BIG help.

--> Yes and no. If there is a join condition between the ODSs that you can use to get the fields on the same row, you can do an infoset.
--> To achieve something like an outer join, you can create RKF for your base KFs, and restrict them on uncommon chars with 'constant selection'. This may not work in all cases. Search for a blog by Prakash Darzi on 'Constant selection' to understand this.
If logically there doesn't exist a relation (try to visualise how you will derive your output row if you were given these two in a file or spreadsheet - is there a logical link to connect the two sets of data?) you cannot expect the results that you look for.
