Inventory question

HI all,
A material "X" has Unrestricted stock=0, quality inspection stock=0 and Blocked stock =100 ea. In MI31 (Batch input for Physical inventory document) the checkbox "Only materials without zero stock" is enabled and Stock types: Unrestricted, Quality inspection and Blocked are all enabled. When the trnasaction code is executed a physical inventory document is created for the material "X" with Stock type=1 (Warehouse stock/Unrestricted stock). But in the initial screen i enabled the check boxes such that Physical inventory document has to be created for non zero stock materials for all three kinds of stocks. Even though Unrestricted stock is zero a Physical inventory document with Stock type 1 is created in this case instead of physical inventory document with Stock type 4 (Blocked stock).
Please let me know what the problem is...i am not able to understand why a physical inventory document with stock type 1 is created even when unrestricted stock is zero and when "Only materials without zero stock" is checked.
Any input is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Avani.

Gopal,
I used MI31 for creating PI document and it is created in foreground. Let me know what you think ..
Thanks,
Avani.

    Hi,
Not possible to deselect as inventory item, once transaction posted for that item even if,
    1. Adjust stock quantity
    2. Remove BOM for that item.
System wont allow you create same item as non-inventory item.

  • Device inventory question

So we have a lot of unknown devices in our inventory that Spiceworks has found. We are sure that a lot of them are things that are no longer connected.
So I had a thought. If I was to delete all of them from the inventory screen, Would Spiceworks re-discovery them and add them back to the inventory if they are still connected to the network?
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

Thanks much for your response. the issue is reolved after correctly re-configure snmp v3 on all WAAS. and most of them LMS able collect inventory. but few of them still failed and LMS say "wrong security name" I have configure my snmp v3 using "configration Manager" and all my WAAS are    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.985 Cisco WAE-574 Wide Area Application Engine. so I am wondering why few of them still unable respond to snmp. repeatdly check the configration the config are all the same. any suggestion what else I can do on thoses failed WAAS, or trouble shooting snmp on WAAS device. thanks again

  • Urgent:   Physical inventory Questions

    hi MM's Experts,
1 - when we try to enter the physical inventory counts of  the same material's by (MI04) in different storage location of the same division, we receives a message blocking "plant data ...are blocked by user XXX" ==> please how to do to put parallel physical inventory count's
2-how can we  enter juste the pysical inventory counts (MI04) just for the material who the reel stock is different with the thorique stock (in the systeme) , because some time we put the same values , and we should put Zero for some materials who we now that there is no stock.
    thank u for ur help.

    Hi Esperado9,
In MI01 there's a thick box: 'Posting block'. If you put a thick in it the material will be blocked.
(In MI02 you can remove this thick and then you can enter the inventory count for that material in different storage location.)

    Hello friends,
1)By mistake Local Inventory has been deleted in one our development oracle database server. If we restore the local inventory from its backup, will it get updated with all the oracle patches applied on databases to till date?
2)Which among the two is a better option:
-Having a separate inventory locations when you have different versions of the ORACLE_HOME installed to help patching
    -Having a common inventory location
    Thanks

By local inventory do you mean the inventory under the Oracle Home? -- ($ORACLE_HOME/inventory)?
Otherwise you can recreate the local inventory by going to each Oracle home and executing the runInstaller command something like this:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME
    ./oui/bin/runInstaller -attachhome ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME ORACLE_HOME_NAME={give it a name} $*>
2)Which among the two is a better option:

    -Having a common inventory location
I do not know of any "best practice" so t's up to you, but for me it's easier to have a global inventory.

  • Another inventory question

While troubleshooting my inventory issues, I discovered that the
    nalconfig.properties file has "DBObjectDN=CN=Desktop Management
Database_Server.O=Container", while the invConfig.properties file shows
    "DBObjectDN=CN=Inventory Database_Server.O=Container". I believe the
Desktop Management Database_Server object is the one originally set up
for Zen 3.2 and the Inventory Database_Server is the one created when I
upgraded to 6.5. Should I change the nalconfig file?
I moved my db to a different server, so I'm trying to make sure I have
the new info listed where it needs to be. I changed the mgmtdbs.ncf file
to point to the new location. I thought there was a properties file
somewhere that needed to have the new ip address. Thanks for any info.

  • Synch plugin for inventory OnHand

On the forum there are several threads about the synchronisation of the Inventory. To only display the inventory OnHand (so not the calculated one OnHand-IsCommitted+OnOrder) you will have to use a synch plugin.
Is someone using such a synch plugin. We would be much appreciated if someone would share it with us or could give us some more information.
In a thread of May 11 2007 'More Inventory questions' there was a solution given by Bryce which could help us further with this issue.
Personally I would do it in a synch plugin and disable the inventory synch in the synchmanager. There is a synch plugin I wrote that will read SQL from an XML file and execute it against whichever db/table. I've used this in the past when it was necessary to set the default shipping address for a user for instance. Let me see if I can locate the SAP note number for you that has the synch plugin as an attachment. It's also available for download on our old support forums at www.boug.us
Can't locate the note. Here is the link to the synchplugin
    http://boug.us/files/10/plugins/entry403.aspx
You need to have a login to download, and it's free to sign up.
You might find other interesting information about Netpoint there too, as it was an old "braindump" site for dev support when we were with Praxis.
So if this plugin is still available it would be very helpfull for us. Thanks in advance!
    (For Webtools 6 - SP01)
    Best regards,

  • Columns PRIMARY_UNIT_OF_MEASURE and ENGINEERING_ITEM_FLAG are not updateabl

    Hi All,
I'm getting this error while updating an item in a 11.5.10 instance using the PL/SQL API call EGO_ITEM_PUB.PROCESS_ITEM:
The columns PRIMARY_UNIT_OF_MEASURE and ENGINEERING_ITEM_FLAG are not updatable
Does anybody know what this is about? I'm not passing any of those values (not even sure if there is an ENGINEERING_ITEM_FLAG at all). I found this note, but I'm not sure if it is related to my problem in any way:

    btw: Item creation works fine...

  • Posting block Question in How to handle inventory management scenarios

Hi all - I have a question in document
    <b>"How to...Handle Inventory Management Scenarios in BW"</b>
can anyone please tell me what a posting block is in this document...
also I did not understood what a Validity table is?
    thanks,
    Sabrina.

    Hi Sabrina!
A 'posting block' period is something that now you are facing in inventory management, but you have to consider it in ALL logistic cockpit flows (what you can see in LBWE).
This requirement can be easily explained in this way: as you know, to fill a setup table you have to activate the extract structure of the datasource for which you want to run the setup job (otherwise the system says that no active extract structure exists, do you remember ?); but, by doing so with the posting operations open (in other words, users can create new document or change the existing ones), you run the risk that these records are automatically included in the extraction queue (or in SM13 if you are using unserialized method) AND also collected in setup table ! And you will have the same records with the initial load (from setup table) and then the same from delta load (from the queue): a nice data duplication.
To avoid this situation, a "posting block" (or a "free-posting period" or a "downtime") is requested. No one can post new document during your setup job...
    Hope now is clearer...
    Bye,
    Roberto

  • Inventory Cube Loading - Questions....

This is the process I intend to follow to load InfoCube 0IC_C03 and the questions therein. I have the "how to handle inventory scenarios" document, so please don't suggest I read that.
    1A) Delete Set-up tables for application 03
    1B) Lock Users
1C) Flush LBWQ and delete entries in RSA7 related to application 03 (optional - only if needed)
2A) Fill set up tables for 2LIS_03_BX. Do Full load into BW Inventory Cube with "generate initial status" in InfoPackage.
2B) Compress request with a marker update
3A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2006 to 12/31/2007 (Historical) and load to Inventory Cube with a full update
QUESTION1: Does this need a marker update?
QUESTION2: Is this a good strategy  - do movement documents that old get updated once posted?
QUESTION3: Does the posting dates restriction depend on on how far back in history we want to go and look at stock values?
3B) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2008 to 9/9/999  (Current) and load to Inventory Cube with a delta init with data transfer.
3C) Compress load in 3B without a marker update
4A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_UM  and load to Inventory Cube with a delta init
4B) Compress load in 4A without a marker update
QUESTION4: How should we select the posting date criteria? Do I need to load from 01/01/2006 to 9/9/9999 since that's the range used for BF?
    5) Start V3 update jobs via Job Control
    6) Intiate subsequent delta loads from BF and UM and compress with marker update
QUESTION 5: Is the sequence of loading BX first, then BF and UM fixed? or can I do BF and then BX, UM
QUESTION 6: Any tips on minimizing downtime in this particular scenario? Please don't suggest generic steps. If you can suggest something specific to this situation, that'd be great.
I hope you can help with the 6 questions I asked above.
    Regards,
    Anita S.

    Hi Anita,
Please find my answers below. I have worked enough with this scenario and hence feel that these would be worth considering for your scenario.
3A) Fill set up table for 2LIS_03_BF with posting date 01/01/2006 to 12/31/2007 (Historical) and load to Inventory Cube with a full update
QUESTION1: Does this need a marker update?
In this step we dont need marker update while compressing.
QUESTION2: Is this a good strategy - do movement documents that old get updated once posted?
I am able to get the question quite clearly.
QUESTION3: Does the posting dates restriction depend on on how far back in history we want to go and look at stock values?
Yes. We need to start from latest and then go back as backwards as we want to see the stock values. This holds true when we are using non cumulative key figures
4B) Compress load in 4A without a marker update
QUESTION4: How should we select the posting date criteria? Do I need to load from 01/01/2006 to 9/9/9999 since that's the range used for BF?
No need to provide any selection criteria for UM while loading to BW, as this would fetch the same data filled in setup of revaluations.Unless you are looking for only some history other wise you can fill that for company code list and bring the whole data to BW  by a single full load, as the data wont be that huge as compared to BF
    6) Intiate subsequent delta loads from BF and UM and compress with marker update
QUESTION 5: Is the sequence of loading BX first, then BF and UM fixed? or can I do BF and then BX, UM
This is fixed in terms of compression with marker updates.
QUESTION 6: Any tips on minimizing downtime in this particular scenario? Please don't suggest generic steps. If you can suggest something specific to this situation, that'd be great.
*Yes. Most of time consuming activity is for filling BF history. Negligable for BX and UM comparitively.
Either try having multiple BF selective setup filling based on posting date based on available background processes or filli open months setup during downtime and rest history once you unlock the system for postings. The reason for this being we dont expect any posting for history*
Feel free to ask any further questions about this.

  • Physical inventory : some questions .

    hi
    i have a company contain 50 stores ((24/7)) . i have some questions about physical inventory :
1- how i know the articles that have not been inventoried yet by merchandise categories and the report quntain the quantity?
2- if i applay 2 physical inventory process  at the same year , how i can determain the articles not been inventoried at the second time ?
3- is there any report to know the difference by quantity and sales price ?
    thank u

    Hi There,
From table MARD for the article please check the field KZILL - here you can see if you carried out a PI count for the same in the fiscal year or have yet to carry out a PI in this year.
Physical inventory indicator for whse stock in current year
Records the physical inventory status of the respective stock. The following statuses are possible:
If the physical inventory still has to be taken in the current year:
Physical inventory still has to be taken: _ _ _
Physical inventory still has to be completed: _ X _
Posting block is set in active document: X X _
If the physical inventory has already been taken in the current year:
Physical inventory has been taken: _ _ X
Physical inventory is active again: _ X X
Posting block is set in active document: X X X
From tcode MI22 - you can see any PI documents created for the article. 'Active' means that they are still open - not fully Counted/Difference Posted.
    I hope this helps,
    Elaine.

  • Inventory Organization Security question

    Hi SME's,
Need to implement below functionalities in EBS R12. Please provide your inputs whether it can be implemented using standard oracle feature or we need to do any personalization/customization to achieve this.
    1. If user creates a new item code, he can assign the item to specific
organizations to which he is assigned. Currently if i create a item code
and try to assign it, i am able to see all the organization, whereas i
need to restrict the organizations to which
i can assign the item code.
Whether above can be achieved without any personalization/customization, if so please advice.
    2. While PR user should be able to access items only from organizations
to which he is assigned. This i believe we can achieve
using org access control at resp level. Navigation is Inventory -->
Setup --> Organization --> Organization access. Please confirm whether understanding is correct, if not provide your thoughts on implementing.
    Thanks and Regards,

Whether second one can be achieved by org security access. Consider the below example and please let me know whether this can be implemented.
    1 Create a User --> Clerk
    2. Assign below responsbility to Clerk User
    ---> ABC Purchasing user
    3. Map below inventory organization to the responsbility,
    ABC Purchasing user
--> ABC Raw materials Inv Org
--> ABC Finished goods Inv Org
So based on above setup, if user Clerk uses responsiblity ABC Purchasing user. Whether he will be able to create PR only for items in Organiztions above. Please confirm
