Invoke javascript function from outside the pdf

Hello
Is there a possibility to invoke a (inside) PDF-JavaScript function from outside the PDF?
Do I need the PDF SDK? Where can I get it? Where can I find examples?
Thank you
Sincerely
Lore

I don't know of a way to invoke a javascript function from outside the PDF. Adobe LiveCycle Forms
(Form Server) gives you the ability to extract form data from a submitted form. You should
investigate this option.

  • Search Functionality from Outside a PDF?

    Hi All,
    I would like to create search bar that lets you choose a country, then product (each product+ country will be associated with a signle pdf), then search for a key word (s). At that time the PDF will open on the webpage below search bar with the key word or term highlighted.
    Is it possible to utilize CTRL+F functionality from outside a .pdf?
    Thanks!

    How do i select the required row from the pop-up window.
    also, i dont have a bpa script. i have a stand along ui map called from the context menu, using portals.

  • How to - invoke OAF function from outside oracle with parameters?

    I have an oaf page, that does simple create/update/view functions for set of records based on custom db.
    currently user has to login to oracle apps, go to resp> invoke the page> search the part number > look up all the existing records(part#,set#,rev)> click on view link to view details of specific record.
    The requirement is : to invoke a set of record outside oracle.
    for example : user goes on network folder and opens a doc file from : /folder-2010/AAA-101-pqr.doc
    contents of doc file :
    revision = 1
    setNumber=2
    partNumber : ABCDEF* --this needs to be a link invoking the function call to the oaf page with these set of parameters :revision, part number and set number.
    ....and a few more....
    What I did was : I gave the OAFunc=xxxxx guest grants (http://mukx.blogspot.com/2008/07/creation-of-anonymous-page-introduction.html)
    so it invokes the main page from any file outside oracle, without login required. but i still have to search the existing records for a part number and click on view link.
    How can I pass the part#,set#,rev to the link so that it opens up the view page directly ?
    any help would be appreciated.
    thanks a ton.

    ok so say my function is :
    MASETUPVIEW with html call : OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/mac/matooling/webui/WorkSheetViewPG
    So from word file : Should I give the link to invoke as :
    http://zzzzzz.company.com:8009/OA_HTML/OA.JSP?OAFunc=MASETUPVIEW&viewInvItemId=123456&viewMachine=101&viewRevision=C&viewSetNumber=5&viewCategory=MILLS&paramActionType=ViewWS

  • Problem if trying to invoke a EJB from outside the .ear in which its deploy

    Hi,
    I have deployed an ear containing an EJB and a sample JSP to invoke it. Its working fine.
    But when i m trying to invoke this same EJB from a standalone java program it is able to identify home and remote interface but its not entering into the bean class.
         Hashtable myEnv = new Hashtable();
              myEnv.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
              myEnv.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"t3://localhost:7001");
              try{
              Context ctx = new InitialContext(myEnv);
              SampleHome home = (SampleHome)ctx.lookup("com.beanfolder.SampleHome");
              System.out.println("Home: " + home.getClass().getName());
              Sample sample = home.create();
              System.out.println("Remote: "+sample.getClass().getName());
              sampleResponse = sample.getMessage(sampleRequest);
              String result = sampleResponse.getAirportName().toString();
              }catch(Exception ex){
    where sampleRequest and SampleResponse are the jaxb interfaces of this EJB.
    Its successfully printing the SOPs ie home and the remote class but not entering in the bean.
    Any clues???

  • Invoke an awt event from outside the swing application

    Is it possible to invoke an awt event triggered from outside the swing app? I am trying to implement a use case where i have to open a new tab in an already running swing app when a user clicks on a browser link.

    I have a desktop application that was invoked via webstart. The java webstart process started when the user clicked on a link that downloaded the swing application and now it runs in the clients JVM. Each browser click downloades and launches the application that performs a certain function. Now lets say, the user clicks on another link, then i don't want another java application to be launched. I want the same application that executes the function in lets say a new tab.
    Its kind of like you click on a link that somebody sent you in an outlook email. When you click on it and if firefox is already running, the link opens up in a new tab on an already running firefox browser. If firefox was not running, it starts a new firefox process.
    Hope this makes sense

  • Calling a JavaScript function from an JApplet...

    Can anyone help? Is it possible to call a JavaScript function from within a JApplet? If so, what is the syntax? I've seen reference to the Netscape package but I've been led to believe it doesn't always work within Internet Explorer 6 which is the target browser.
    If the above is not possible can anyone tell me if and how it is possible to load images from outside the init() method of a JApplet? This would allow me to work around the problem.

  • Help needed in calling a javascript function from a jsp

    Hey guys,
    I need help.
    In my jsp I have a field called date. When i get date field from the database, it is a concatination of date and time field, so I wrote a small javascript function to strip just the date part from this date and time value.
    The javascript function is
    function formatDate(fieldName)
              var timer=fieldName;
              timer = timer.substring(5,7)+"/"+timer.substring(8,10)+"/"+timer.substring(0,4);
              return timer;
    Now I want to call this javascript function from the input tag in jsp where I am displaying the value of date. Check below
    This is one way I tried to do:
    <input size="13" name="startDate" maxLength="255" value=<script>formatDate("<%=startDate%>")</script> onChange="checkDate(this)">
    I even tried this:
    <input size="13" name="startDate" maxLength="255" value="'formatDate(<%=startDate%>)'" onChange="checkDate(this)">
    But it dosen't work
    Please help. I am struggling on this for days.
    Thanks,

  • Using Javascript function to change the value of a request variable

    Have a javascript function that activates onchange within a form variable. Would like the javascript function to change the value of a request variable.
    The javascript function is able to obtain the current value of the request variable ( which is 0 ) however I am unsuccessful in changing the value to 1.
    I have been trying to use the following:
         var vchange = 'request.changes_made = 1 ;' ;
         eval(vchange);
    Any ideas?

    If the user makes a change to the content of the form, and then attempts to leave the form, a javascript alert pops up giving the user the option of cancelling the submit, returning to the form and saving it.
    If there have been no changes, then the user is free to migrate to another page.
    This process is to protect users from losing valuable information but not to annoy them with "R U Sure" messages.
    Knowing the status of the form content is important to the functionality of the application.

  • Invoking bpm process from outside

    Hi,
    Currently, i can invoke a BPM Process web service from the WS Navigator. The next step is, how can i invoke this service from outside? I'm using SOAP-UI and i download the wsdl file from the service registry.
    It seems, the wsdl is not in a standard form. Could someone share a light here?
    Thanks,
    Aries

    Hi Aries,
    Could you please elaborate on your use case? Did you publish your process exposed as a Web Service in the ESR?
    You mentioned that your wsdl is not standard conform. Can you please copy it in this thread?
    From a tool perspective, the process is exposed using the web service interface provided in the start event. If the exposed process is not standard conform, you could compare the wsdl provided to the Process Composer to the one dowloaded from the WS nagvigator and the one downloaded from ESR.
    Best regards,
    David

  • Calling Javascript function from PL/SQL Process

    I am new to APEX and Javascript so please forgive my question.
    I have a process on page which successfully runs a few procedures etc. but now, as part of this process, I want to call a javascript function I have typed into the HTML Header.
    My question is how can I call the javascript function from my process? Is it possible?
    Many thanks
    Winnie
    ps. as an example my javascript looks like:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    function test(){
    var decision = confirm("Click a button below and watch what pops up next.");

  • Calling javascript functions from xsl on mac safari

    Hi,
    I am having a problem calling external javascript functions from xsl on mac safari, i am trying to generate a dropdown dynamically from an xsl document using XSLTProcessor through javascript, following is the code snippet of the xsl document
    <select name="ddl_EmailSubType" class="Menu" onclick="onEmailSubTypeChange();" id="ddl_EmailSubType" >
    <xsl:for-each select="./SubTypeFields/FieldGroup">
    <xsl:if test="@SubTypeGroup != 'All'">
    <option>
    <xsl:attribute name="value">
    <xsl:value-of select="@SubTypeGroup"/>
    </xsl:attribute>
    <xsl:if test="@SubTypeGroup = $SelectedSubContentType">
    <xsl:attribute name="selected">selected</xsl:attribute>
    </xsl:if>
    <xsl:value-of select="@SubTypeGroup"/>
    </option>
    </xsl:if>
    </xsl:for-each>
    </select>
    here the function onEmailSubTypeChange() is present in an external js file, all the other functions from this files are executed successfully except the ones which are defined in the xsl document.
    I have also tried replacing onclick="onEmailSubTypeChange();" with onclick="javascript:alert('hello world');" but the event is not getting fired at all since i cannot see any alert on the selected item change of the dropdown.
    Is there a way in which i can achieve this ?
    any helps appreciated.

  • Is it possible to call a JavaScript function from a dialog?

    Hi there,
    At the moment I have created a dialog, that consists of three text fields that a user fills out, and then clicks next.
    What I am attempting to do, is pass the result of these three textboxes to a JavaScript function I have laying in a file in Web Resources. I've done some research, and I can't find anything.
    So my question is - is it possible to call a JavaScript function from a dialog?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
         It is not possible unfortunately. We can start dialog from script but not the other way unfortunately. However, you can always write server side code for this and it will surely execute. So instead of javascript, write plug-in.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to call a javascript function from XSL

    I'd a requirement to take an action each time a page loads
    I called the javascript function from addLoadEvent() available in javascript.
    But my reviewer commented that it should be called using XSL as we are using XSLT,
    What is preferred?
    To pass function name to the already available function or somehow call it from xsl ? if second is preferred option then,
    how to call a function through XSLT, if it is to be called aftr the page loads?

    Thank u..
    but i'd seen that link wen i searched in google..
    Is it possible without using any 3rd party JARs and all?
    and more importantly plz tell me what should be preferred way to call a javascript function?
    Do it using addLoadEvent() or Windows.Load etc
    OR
    Call it thru Xsl? (I donno how to do dis)
