Invoke SAP GUI from Webdynpro ABAP

Hi All,
I am calling the webdynpro screen (using FM 'WDY_EXECUTE_IN_PLACE') from SAP GUI screen. In the webdynpro screen I have created one button upon clicking the button it should go back to the SAP screen from where I called the webdynpro screen.
Could some tell me how to do this.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi Saba,
Please check this: [this FM seem to be not supported by SAP and only release internally within SAP|Re: how to exchange data between wda program and abap program?;
Thanks,

  • Moving to second screen of SAP GUI from webdynpro application

    Hi friends,
    I want to open the secatt applications second screen from webdynpro UI. For this I am using the following code on webdynpro side
    CALL METHOD cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url
    EXPORTING
    application_name = 'appname'
    IMPORTING
    out_absolute_url = lv_final_url.
    SPLIT lv_final_url AT 'webdynpro' INTO lv_first_url lv_second_url.
    SPLIT lv_second_url AT 'ztwb_tor' INTO lv_final_url lv_apostrophe.
    CLEAR lv_final_url.
    CONCATENATE lv_first_url '/gui/sap/its/webgui?TRANSACTION=secatt&RB_TEST_CONFIG=X&RB_ECATT_SCRIPT=& ECTC_VER-NAME =' ls_ztwb_test_case-testcase '&okcode=ECOB_SHOW' lv_apostrophe
    INTO lv_final_url.
    CALL METHOD lo_window_manager->create_external_window
    EXPORTING
    url = lv_final_url
    RECEIVING
    window = lo_window.
    lo_window->open( ).
    But I am still able to open the first screen of secatt and not the second screen with the relevant testcase datails.
    But if I try to open the second screen of SCAT transaction I am able to open it using the following url.
    CONCATENATE lv_first_url '/gui/sap/its/webgui?TRANSACTION=SCAT&*CATA-ABLNR=' ls_ztwb_test_case-testcase '&okcode=ZEIG' lv_apostrophe
    INTO lv_final_url.
    Is there anything else that I need to pass as parameters in SECATT transaction.
    The program of SCAT transaction is a module pool program.
    The program of secatt transaction is a function pool program.
    Thank you.

    Hello Mohsin,
    I checked the program of SECATT. its just uses the workbench manager to start the respective GUI screen and its not passing any parameters. So I doubt whether you can pass parameters or OKcode to the SECATT tcode.
    What you can do is to identify the respective landing screen of SECATT tcode and invoke them by passing parameters.

  • Requirement: Open Transaction code in SAP GUI from WD ABAP application

    Hello All,
    I have a WD ABAP application which is accessed from SAP GUI and Portal. In SAP GUI, there is report which calls the application URL.
    In the WD application, I need to call a transaction code. At this juncture, I made use of the ITS url. But,, the SSO does not work in SAP GUI.It works only in portal.
    As a solution,we identified the entry point i.e. SAP GUI or portal. Then, based on entry from SAP GUI, we tried to call the transaction code using call transaction statement. But, that replaced the wd application. We instead wanted it as a popup or atleast another session.
    Now, how do we open a transaction from WD screen in another session?
    Also, can we setany configurations in the system to make sure the SSO works for all the transactions i.e. ITS used in SAP GUI.?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    This question gets asked many times.
    Depending on the circumstances, this can be achieved with varying degree of success
    So here is some code that might help you.
    This can (does) load a Windows GUI.
    Some things to consider.
    1. Browser settings can get in the way a bit, asking the user if they want to open a ".sap" file
    2. The user may have a SAP session open so consider adding a "/o" to the system code.
    3. The Custom variable might want to contain a [Options] section for "Re-use"
    4. The SAPLogon_ID may be required if using SSO (SNC)
    I have modified the code below, but you will get the idea.
    JS
    * Create the shortcut contents
      call function 'SWN_CREATE_SHORTCUT'
        exporting
          i_system_command        = lv_com
          i_saplogon_id           = lv_logon_id
          i_sysid                 = sy-sysid
          i_client                = sy-mandt
          i_user                  = sy-uname
          i_custom                = lv_custom
        importing
          shortcut_string         = lv_string
        exceptions
          inconsistent_parameters = 1
          others                  = 2.
    * Convert to xstring to execute....
      call method cl_http_utility=>if_http_utility~encode_utf8
        exporting
          unencoded = lv_string
        receiving
          encoded   = lv_xstring
        exceptions
          others    = 1.
    * Now call to open the shortcut.
      lv_file_name =  'mytrans.sap'.
      lv_mime = 'application/x-sapshortcut'.
      call method cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response
        exporting
          i_filename      = lv_file_name
          i_content       = lv_xstring
          i_mime_type     = lv_mime
          i_in_new_window = abap_true.

  • Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

    Dear Friends,
    We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
    Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
    The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for

    Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
    2nd ] From webpage to R/3
    Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
    In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
    In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.

    Hello,
    Hello, are you sure you have your ADS credentials configured correctly and valid? I guess you know that is the only difference between clicking enabled on true or false. If you are not sure, you can use SE38, search for FP_* and pick some reports to check the licencing. The names of the reports are good enough to recognize the right one.
    Or maybe that is a security problem? Have you checked the ADS_ERROR string? Did you use the ADS trace?

  • Calling SAP scripts from WEBDYNPRO

    Hi
    We need to call SAP scripts from WebDynpro application.  As per my understanding we need to do following steps
    Create a new RFC function module and create sap script output in PDF format.For this
        - use OPEN_FORM , by assigning TDGETOTF='X' in the Options(Structure
          ITCPO).
        - call function module CLOSE_FORM with option OTFDATA
        - convert OTF data to PDF by using function module CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF
    Now I would like to know how to display the PDF string from WebDynpro.
    Please help....
    Regards
    Sujith

    Hi,
    You can call by creating external window method.
    create LINK to URL or LINK TO ACTION according to requirement, for this. write code in onaction of that.
    data: iv_url type string value 'http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=*se38 RS38M-PROGRAMM=rsparam;DYNP_OKCODE=SHOP'.
      data: api_component  type ref to if_wd_component,
              window_manager type ref to if_wd_window_manager,
              window type ref to if_wd_window.
      api_component = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
      window_manager = api_component->get_window_manager( ).
      window = window_manager->create_external_window(
                     url = iv_url
                     modal = abap_false ).
      window->open( ).
    Cheers,

  • Calling GuidedProcess from WebDynpro ABAP

    Hi all
    can anybody tell me that how to call GP from webdynpro ABAP.
    and what are the advantages and disadvantages in this scenario??
    if anyone reply then it would be the great help to me
    Regards
    Suresh babu

    Hey,
    You can call a GP from WD ABAP through by implementing a service call from a method that is embedded in your WD. You can refer this link for the same.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/58f9cc0d95311ce10000000a155369/frameset.htm
    But you should note here that Data exchange between ABAP WD and GP is not two way but its only one way.

  • Calling custom Infotype method from Webdynpro Abap

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on an application where i need to call a method of a custom defined infotype.
    I have done this -->
    1. Create a custom infotype 9111
    2. SAP creates a class of that infotype ZCL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_9111
    3. Inside this method there are few inherited method which provide me functionality of insert , update , delete
    i want to call methods IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~MODIFY,
    IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~INSERT
    However when i call these method from webdynpro abap this method does not work.
    where as when i try to insert an entry using PA30 transaction it works.
    Does anyone know why does this happen and what is the solution?
    Regards,
    Ashish Shah

    Hi Ashish,
    You need to create method inside your assistance class, the class your webdynpro component talks to.
    Within the methods of Assistance class you will have to create instance of ZCL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_9111 and call its  method IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~INSERT  passing the data.
    Cheers
    Prashant

  • At Craig's suggestion: Why Invoke PERL functionality from WD-ABAP?

    Craig -
    This is response to your suggestion that I post my own reasons for thinking that it would be useful to be able to invoke PERL functionality from WD-ABAP.
    Please note at the outset that these reasons are based on my own personal belief that the relatively new vertical sectors of bioinformatics/biomed could produce reasonably significant income for SAP in a reasonably short time if SAP decided to create application-level functionalities in these areas.
    This belief is in turn based on a very significant new initiative which has been publicly announced by the university Medical Center recently voted "most-wired" (Vanderbilt) and equivalent initiatives at other university Medical Centers across the country.  (BTW, I've posted a meeting time (Tue 7pm) at Tech Ed for anyone who wants to learn more about these initiatives, the new vertical sectors they define, and how SAP could EASILY play in them.)
    So, with this background established, assume that SAP does decide to play in the bioinformatic/biomed sector.
    SAP will rapidly find that a lot of biomed is based on the kind of bioinformatics that essentially does pattern-analysis on two kinds of strings: polynucleotide strings (DNA, mRNA, tRNA, etc.) and polypeptide strings (mainly the amino acid strings that form the "primary structures" of protiens.)  For example, biomed will soon include the ID of "at risk" markers for all patients in a university medical center, indicating what diseases patients may be genetically at risk for due to SNP's and other abnormalities in their inherited DNA.
    Now when such analysis is not done by running "canned" versions of well-developed programs such as the ubiqitious BLAST program for "aligning" polynucleotide or polypeptide sequences, it is done by programs written in languages that offer superb capabilities for pattern-searching and manipulation of strings, e.g. PERL.
    Additionally, I know from personal experience and the experience of my SigOther that even data obtained from well-known canned programs must be further massaged by non-canned techniques that again are readily implementable in PERL and other similar languages.
    Finally, a lot of bioinformatic/biomed applications require iterative batch execution of canned stat routines such as t-tests or normality tests, which can be conveniently done via calls from languages such as PERL to canned products such as STATA.
    So assume SAP wants to develop a biomed application that has:
    back-end data containing the usual kinds of info med centers need to know about patients, plus the new kinds of scientific info about patients that med centers are creating
    a presentation component that displays these two kinds of data for query, further elaboration/refinement, and subsquent update.
    For example, there will be times when a doctor will want to take scientific data on a patient from the back-end (e.g. portions of a patient's DNA), subject it to pattern-analysis of the type described above, and then store the results of the analysis as additional new scientific info in the back-end databases.
    And SAP can readily provide the doctor with this capability if it allows PERL functionality to be invoked from WD/WD-ABAP components.  In some cases, the PERL will simply invoke industry-standard canned programs such as BLAST and wrap the results in a way friendly to SAP.  In other cases, the PERL may do the analysis itself.  In other cases, the PERL may invoke stat programs.  Etc, etc. etc.
    The point is that there is a vast inventory of bioinformatic/biomed PERL code out there, and if SAP wants to get serious about playing in the bioinformatics/biomed sector, it will be much easier to talk to this inventory of programs rather than recreate it in JAVA or SAP inside SAP.
    Anyway, please remember - this post was based on the  assumption that SAP may want to get serious about playing in the bioinformatic/biomed sector.
    If not, then as Rosanne Rosanadanna used to say, "Never mind".

    Hi David,
    Where it can be used :-
    Anywhere that you can insert ABAP code to run, you can integrate Perl in the manor that I laid out.  The only requirements are the ability to run registered RFC programs, and to execute ABAP code including RFC calls (which is anywhere inside of an R/3 system basically).
    Comparison with other techniques :-
    All communication from the ABAP stack with the J2EE stack is done via RFC - this is only faster than a registerd RFC Server if Fast RFC is used which means that the J2EE stack MUST reside on the same host as the R/3 instance.  Therefore there is no performance difference at that level and any performance differentiation is going to be in the programming language Perl vs Java, or payload encoding techniques (XML) at that level (not withstanding the consideration of development time).
    There is also the HTTP Client communication facilities - with or without document encodings (the ICF + eg. SOAP).  Again - I'd take a long hard look at whether it is necessary to be encumbered with the data packet encoding/ecapsulation overhead.
    What you gain :-
    Once you are in the "land of Perl" you have access to essentially any module you can find on CPAN, so any data access you require whether it be some kind of application server technology, or DB, can be fullfilled by whats available there (unless you need to roll your own?).  And lets not forget algorythm implemented in Perl or Perl XS extensions - probably very important in the medical/scientifc field.
    SOA (IMO) is a big ugly 4 letter word.  At the end of the day, you have to look where your time and money is best spent, and whether you can achieve the desired results using Scripting Language Connector technology, or whether you feel compelled to go down a WS-* style route.
    However - I would like to say this - IMO it is totally unecessary to wrap up system integration in multiple (expensive both in money, and performance considerations) layers if you are confident that you have good control over both ends of the communication streams.  I believe that when your main objective is to utilise large chunks of code written in another language (rather than reimplement it in something closer to SAPs core interests), or communicate with inhouse data sources/systems (I've done this for MySQL before), then this is definitely one such case that opens the door for using my outlined approach (in the article).
    Cheers,
    Piers Harding.

    'The procedure entry point 'RfcResetTraceDir' could not be located in the dynamic link library 'LIBRFC32.dll' .'
    So actually since i installed the NW2004s on my local notebook the only sap gui "working" (at least i can call it) is the one from the NW2004s Sneakpreview page but im getting this error mentioned here on all systems! not only on the NW2004s system
    regards,
    Markus

  • Calling Webdynpro Java Application from Webdynpro ABAP Application.

    Hi,
    We have developed one Application using Webdynpro Java and I m in need to call the Webdynpro Java application from Webdynpro ABAP.
    Require Suggestions to acheive this.
    Thanks In advance.
    Reg,
    Ajay.

    Dear Ajay,
    Assuming that both your applications WDA & WDJ are in the portal & you don't have to pass any parameters to the WDJ application.
    Write the following code on the action  where you would call the WDJ application.
      DATA:
            lr_compcontroller TYPE REF TO ig_componentcontroller,
            l_component TYPE REF TO if_wd_component ,
            lr_port_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_portal_integration ,
            wa_navigation TYPE navigation.
      lr_compcontroller =   wd_this->get_componentcontroller_ctr( ).
      l_component = lr_compcontroller->wd_get_api( ).
      lr_port_manager = l_component->get_portal_manager( ) .
    * The value inserted into the navigation-target field can be found in the Portal
    * content administration tab of your portal. It is the ID or PCD Location field
      wa_navigation-target = pcd. " Please provide the PCD Location of the WDJ Application here.
      wa_navigation-mode   = '0'.  "0 = INTERNAL(same page) and 1 = EXTERNAL(new page).
      CALL METHOD lr_port_manager->navigate_absolute
        EXPORTING
          navigation_target = wa_navigation-target
          navigation_mode   = wa_navigation-mode.
    You can get the PCD from the Page properties of the WDJ application page in the Portal.
    Hope it helps!
    Warm regards,

  • How to call a webService from WebDynPro ABAP ?

    We are trying to call a webService from WebDynPro-ABAP application. It is not working, While if we are calling the WebService from a Report, it is working.
    How exactly do we call a WebService from a WebDynPro-ABAP application?
    What are the main steps involved ?

    Hi Phani,
    You will need to create a service call as follows.
    Right click on your WD component name and select Create->Service Call
    The wizard will guide you through a series of steps to make a Web Service Call. On the 3rd screen, it will give you options such as Function Module, Web Service, etc
    Before making a service call, you will need to create a proxy for the Web service in the ABAP Workbench using a WSDL document as a basis. To create or consume Web services, you will need the authorizations associated with the role SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_ADMIN.
