Invoking BusinessRules with BPEL

i want to invoke business rules from bpel without using Decide activity , i want to invoke it by embeded java activity that call a java class in jdeveloper and retrieve the rule
the java class works fine in jdeveloper and retrieves the rules but when i invoke it from bpel an error occured in both javafacts and xmlfacts
the error message in javafacts is
exceptionoracle.rules.rl.exceptions.UndefinedException: 'javaclassbusinessrules.Driver' is undefined at line 11 column 7 in underage
where the javaclassbusinessrules.Driver is the class that i import it as a jar file in java fact
and according to xml fact the message is
he can't locate jaxb.property even all the jaxb classes were imported in jdeveloper
class and deployed with the proess

Hi,
why dont you want to use the decide activity?
It is very easy.
For embedding see

  • How to invoke EJB with BPEL?

    How to invoke EJB with BPEL?
    I know there are two ways: WSIF and SOAP.
    But I don't how to do step by step. Please help me.
    Thanks
    Melody

    And I used the method said by soaUser to generate the WSIF binding WSDL file for a Java class.
    Then I put this WSDL file into a BPEL project directory and create a partner link with this.
    But after I invoke this BPEL, a error happen:
    Error while determining signature of method sayHello : The meta information is not consistent.; nested exception is:
         org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: Could not instantiate class 'javaws.SayHelloElement'; nested exception is:
         java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javaws.SayHelloElement
    Even after I put the Java class into the %SOA_HOME%\bpel\system\classes directory, this error still happen.
    How to resolve?
    Thanks,

  • Unable to invoke Webservice with BPEL process

    Hi,
    I wrote a basic WebService in Java and now I want to invoke it with a simple BPEL Process. But it doesn't work. I am using Netbeans 6.5 as IDE and GlassFish V2 as Server.
    Everytime when I try to test my BPEL Process, I got back the following failure message:
    ERROR: Successful execution of Start: NPSProcesstestingApp
    WARNING: (JBIMA0405) Start of service assembly NPSProcesstestingApp succeeded partially; some service units failed to start.
    * Component: sun-http-binding
    ERROR: (SOAPBC_START_1) HTTPBC-E00205: Start failed. java.lang.Exception: LifecycleException: PWC3985: Initialisierung der Protokoll-Behandlungsroutine fehlgeschlagen: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: bind: 8083
    * Component: sun-bpel-engine
    INFO: (JBIMA0409) Lifecycle operation start succeeded for Service Unit NPSProcesstestingApp-NPSProcesstesting.
    I have absolutely no idea why it doesn't work, my webservice is running on localhost at port 8083: http://localhost:8083/numberportingservice, and I deploy it in the following way:
    //NumberPortingService
    NumberPortingServiceImpl npsImpl = new NumberPortingServiceImpl();
    new TestDataGeneratorNPS(npsImpl);
    JaxWsServerFactoryBean sfNPS = new JaxWsServerFactoryBean();
    sfNPS.setServiceClass(NumberPortingService.class);
    sfNPS.setAddress("http://localhost:8083/numberportingservice");
    sfNPS.setServiceBean(npsImpl);
    sfNPS.create();
    That works fine, but it doesn't work with the BPEL process, GlassFish is running on Port 7272 and my webservice on Port 8083, so is the Port 8083 blocked? I checked it, it is not blocked by another application, only my webservice is using it.
    My BPEL Process looks like this:

    Or can you invoke the service from the 'gui' of the deployed webservice in the glassfish as ?
    you need to check if either the service doesnt work or the invoke of the service from bpel is the problem

  • Should Not handle large base64Binary data with BPEL?

    Hi,
    we need to implement a file saving function. I have no problem to implement the web service with Java class by using MTOM streaming but I question on the best design with BPEL for this or if BPEL should not be used for this at all. Please help.
    For the requirement, the file content could be the text entered from a web page or the binary data from any resource such as an existing file or email message body etc, which is not limited. Also the web service would receive the desired file name. But the actual file name should be created by the web service based on the desired file name plus some business rule.
    I am thinking of creating a BPEL app for this. The input for the file content is designed to be of type base64Binary so that the application could handle either ASCII or Binary data. In this BEPL app, it needs first to call a web service to get the information where to put the file (this is dynamic) and generate the actual file name and then it calls another web service to save the file with the actual file name and content. I wonder in the case of saving content of big size such as content read from a PDF file, it could cause resource issue due to the dehydration in BPEL. I am not so clear about dehydration. Does that mean when the BPEL invokes the 1st web service to get the information where to put the file, the base64Binary data for the file content would be first saved into the DB (dehydrated)? Would this cause issue? If so, does that mean for this business needs, we should not use SOA, instead, we should just implement it with JAX-WS?

    Operating System is Windows 7
    I do not know what you mean by Patched to 7.0.4
    I do not have a crash report, the software just freezes and I have to do a force close on the program.
    Thank you for your time...

  • OSB -- Invoking an asynchronous BPEL process in Oracle Service Bus

    Hi All,
    Can any one let me know how to invoke the Asynchronous BPEL process in OSB.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Feroz Tasha.

    Hey,
    What i was trying to say was that when you export your OSB project to file system, you can edit the business service in a file editor(e.g notepad, editplus etc).
    In that, instead of suppose 127.0.0.1 u can put a token say @@HOST_NAME@@ and for a port say 7001 as @@PORT_NUMBER@@.
    Then an ant script can replace the values of above 2 tokens with apt values, create a jar out of it and deploy it on the server.
    There are numerous ANT scripts and examples available online.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to integarte Oracle business rules with BPEL

    hi'
    I am unable to integrate Business rules with BPEL, I am using JDeveloper to do this.
    I have successfully made a connection to rule repository and using decision service in synchronous BPEL process.
    In the decision service wizard step 1 of 2
    1.) Selected 'Execute Ruleset' in Invocation pattern
    2.) Selected rules set which I have cretead before.
    the problem is coming when nothing is geting displayed in the
    window below for Fact name, assert name, watch fact.
    please help me why Fact name, assert name, watch fact are not coming.
    thanks
    Yatan

    Thanks Anirudh,
    Do I need to make some changes in the java classes or in the XSD file which I am importing while creating new BPEL process
    I am importing the same XSD file in input and output, actually I am updating the database in the BPEL process so I am taking the
    input from the payload and updating the DB.
    Do I need to make two different <complexType name="updatingDB"> and <complexType name="businessrules">in the XSD
    if you have some example which shows the Integration of BPEL and Business rules
    with Java facts please share it with me.
    thanks

  • ADF Integration with BPEL

    Hello,
    I am new to BPEL. I am working on a sample .
    I am working on ADF Integration with BPEL process.
    I have an ADF Screen displaying data from an EMPLOYEE table in HR Schema . It has a button called "Update". I need to call a synchronous BPEL process on click of "Update" . This BPEL process will take the selected employee information as an XML input and update the last name to the first name as the response.
    I have some doubts in that :
    1. How to pass an XML Schema as input parameter to a BPEL process ? Can you please let me know some sample applications ?
    2. I am creating a web proxy for the BPEL WSDL (created above) and my "Update" button is binded to a method which is calling the BPEL process.
    How can i pass my XML input as the argument of the method to invoke the BPEL process ?
    Thanks
    Nutan

    When using a web service proxy, you need to pass the data as an object, which' structure is defined in the web service proxy wrapper classes.
    When you've defined a data control for your bpel process, you can just drag and drop the 'initiate'/'execute', your operation and bind this to the update-button.
    When working with the proxy client, you need to populate your java class objects with the employee-object, this can be done in a backing bean or managed bean in your adf faces application.
    For more information you can always have a look at my blog where I've provided an explanation about the different possibilities of interfacing adf with SOA.

  • Custom JCA Adapter integration with BPEL

    The stock FTP Adapter provided with BPEL does not have a feature I require, so I am creating a custom JCA FTP adapter that does only one thing: when it is invoked, it polls a directory for any existing files, and then returns the number of files in that directory.
    The Adapter Developer Cookbook ( http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/pdf/Adapter%20Development%20cookbook.pdf ) is about as clear as mud, and hasn't been updated for 10.1.3.
    Are there any other resources that explain how you go from having your .java source files for your JCA adapter to having a working custom adapter in BPEL?

    Hello Tlwi,
    I guess you already figured out of writing custom JCA adapter, do you mind sharing your thoughs or document you may have. I tried to follow the cookbook, but was really looking for sample template code which I can change to make my own adapter.
    Thanks,
    Chintan

  • Simple SOA composite with BPEL  not working

    I Selected composite with BPEL.Used Invoke activity to File Adapter- .
    In Composite.xml I dont see any wire between component and File Adapter. When i deploy Error: Reference File AdapterBPEL Process Read Input does not exist as wire target
    And in composite.xml if i drag a wire from component to File Adapter , a new (file adapter) is added in BPEL process.
    Thank You

    Hi,
    For this issue to be resolved, when it gives the compilation error saying "wire does not exist", you need to drag the a wire from the file adapter to the bpel process.
    This error comes when we use the service(In your case file adapter) as a partnerlink in the BPEL, but did not wire the service and bpel manually in composite.
    Generally when you create a service/reference in composite.xml, you need to wire it to the BPEL and this would create a reference automatically in the bpel and this error can be prevented

  • Integrate SSO with BPEL Worklist

    Hi!
    I'm trying to integrate Oracle Single Sign On 10.1.4 with BPEL Worklist for Human Tasks on SOA Suite 11g. Does anybody knows any link or tutorial to this?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Taylor,
    Thanks for writing back.
    Yes OBIEE can invoke web services!
    Response back from BPEL is not intended but the issue is to pass values to BPEL from OBIEE.
    Could you let us know how we achieve this with a JMS/MQ/AQ queue?
    Thanks,
    Abhishek

  • Is it working onAlarm with bpel on SOAs11gR1 ?

    Hello, everybody!
    I try to testing timeout behavior that it is in bpel process invoking external(partner link) sync web service.
    Invoking a web service spending more time than onAlarm's timeout, but this bpel process is waitting until reply from it.
    There is not the confidence in how to use, so I'll expect to perfome onalarm's flow.
    What is something you know ?
    Using my bpel to test, part of it is here.

    It may be related here,
    1) setting parameter: oracle.webservices.httpReadTimeout
    2) setting parameter: syncMaxWaitTime
    But, I had heard that invoking timeout setting is existed with BPEL PM 10g which I don't have using it.
    Thank you for your read.

  • Error when invoking request from BPEL to SAP

    Hi
    I have problem when invoking request from BPEL project to SAP R/3.
    I use Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 and Oracle AS Adapter 10.1.3.1. I created BPEL project that call SAP service that I have created from Application Explorer. When I run The BPEL project, there is an error shown as below:

  • USe of Business services with BPEL or ESB

    Hi,
    Has anyone come across any example on how to use Busiess services with BPEL or ESB.
    Oracle App Server , JDE 812 , Tools 8.98 , SOA suite 10g

    Samir,
    I don't see any answer for your post.
    Did you find a solution. I would be interested to know as how to integrate business services in JDE with BPEL/SOA 10g or 11G.
    I would appreciate if you could share the approach/solution you followed.Also, please let me know if there are any docs which I can for jde-fusion integration.
    Thanks

  • Business Catalog updated with BPEL refs, not with BPMN refs

    When adding BPEL processes to the SCA component you see the Business catalog modules "References" and "Services" are updated. However, when adding BPMN processes the Business catalog is not updated (and btw you cannot check "Expose as an web service" when creating a BPMN process like you can with BPEL processes). In my opinion the current solution seems incomplete: viewing the "Exposed services" lane of my composite.xml I should expect all of them in the Business Catalog, not only the BPEL ones. It seems Oracle's work behind the Business Catalog component has not finished yet or is there some logic behind this behaviour?
    I am working with version 11.1.1.6
    Edited by: GSmink on Jul 9, 2012 5:12 AM
    corrected spelling errors

    Dan,
    No I did not use Reusable or Manual processes, I use processes (asyn) with a Message Start event, and yes, I see them nicely in the Composite's Exposed Services and the wsdl's in the project's SOA Content folder. But my 'concern' is why the Business Catalog (BC) is not populated with BPMN processes like it is with BPEL processes. In the "Services" module of the BC I see the submodule BPEL with my BPEL processes so I had expected a submodule BPMN with my BPMN processes. From a business perspective I certainly would also see my business processes in the BC, so for me it seems 'unbalanced'
    (I ran against this issue when using correlation:
    In the process receiving an 'in flight' message I defined a Message catch event step in where I defined in the box "Message Exchange" Type :"Define Interface". Then building the process that throws the message to the in-flight process instance I defined the Message Throw event step and in that step I had expected to be able to use the Message Exchange Type "Use Interface" but that was not possible because I could only select BPEL services.
    I solved this by selecting "Process call" in stead of "Use Interface".)
