what is wrong?

you have to send more details what you are doing. Does app run without problem when you aren't using network monitor.

you should know that it is not a good thing to connect a device DIRECTLY to a database...
you should use a web services between the device and the DB

Java.io.IOException: Error writing to server after installing SP17

After installing SP17 in production, we are seeing message in AE failing with com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.io.IOException: Error writing to server.
The messages don't make it to IS and are stuck in AE.
We've checked pipeline url / sm59 entry for INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI using user - XIISUSER, we did a full cache refresh.
They all appear to be set correctly.
We'll take any ideas and suggestions.

Yes...we have been working all night on this. The FM did create an entry but it does no look like its recognising.
This is what we see in the Adapter messaging tool.

Backup failed with tar file write error (10054)

I have got the issue with the online backup.
Database: Oracle 9.2.0.7
SAP : 4.7
Backup Server: Netbackp
When ever i trigger the backup on few of my SAP Servers, it runs for a while and then at a point just get struck.
Where for other systems it is running fine.

After the step mentioned in bold it just get struck,
There is no issue with the space at OS level
I can see all process will still be running in task manager
such as backint.exe, brbackup.exe, brconnect.exe
But
I don't find bpbkar32.exe Process, after the backup got struck.
I have asked Network guys as well and they said every thing is fine from their side(such as Speed, Full Duplex)
Its very important, please assist.

but every thing is fine from their side as well(settings).
i have reinstalled the client as well.
it runs for 1 hr and then it throws error.
yesterday i scheduled two backup at two different time(at the interval of 1 hr) but they both failed (struck) at the exact same time(even seconds were same).
So what do you say??

It seems to stall at the "Sending command to DCM servlet" stage , then fails.
Does the DCM servlet write out logs that I can look at?Where is the Oc4jDcmServlet.ear located in an OC4J container directory hierarchy?How do I redeploy the Oc4jDcmServlet.ear ?

Dimbuild causes network error 10054 "cannot send data"

Can anyone help with this? I have an ASO app that I run dimbuilds on every month. Every month I get the same error message when the dimbuild runs: Error 1042012 - Network Error [10054]: Cannot send Data. If I make an exact copy of the app and run the dimbuild on the copy, I get no errors and the dimbuild works fine. But when I run it on the original app, I always get the error message. Yet this month's app is a copy that the dimbuild worked on last month. Does anyone out there know why this keeps happening? Any suggestions deeply appreciated. Thanks. 

Hi Anaguiu, I would clear the database and build dimensions using dimbuild rulewith no data in database and then load data using data load rule. Additionally I found some information at http://dev.hyperion.com/techdocs/essbase/essbase_71/Docs/errmsgs/ernetwrk.htm#1042012 Quote "1042012 Network error message: Cannot Send Data Possible Problems Analytic Services cannot send data over the network using namedpipes. How to correct socket communications error 10054: connection reset by peer

We are running Lookout 5.1 (build 8) reading data through Modbus Ethernet Drivers and we are constantly getting "socket communications error 10054: connection reset by peer" alarms on the server. When I connect to the server file with a client file the client is experiencing communications problems including locking up when editing, trends not showing up, stops updating completely (can only be corrected by restarting server file), and losing symbolic link.
Does anyone know how to stop this alarm from happening and if this could be the cause of my faulty server-client connection or is this strictly a problem between the server and the ethernet radios in the field?
Any response would be appreciated.

All I had to do was increase the receive timeout in each driver's properties until the socket errors disappeared. I have them all set to 30000 msec. Communications have been great on this wireless ethernet system ever since.

I think it is going through SSL handshake which implemented in HTTP protocol in J2ME.
I have already done the proxy setup and authentication in Sun Wireless toolkit > preferences > Network configuration.
Still error is there. Please help me regarding this, not able to go ahead and rest in peace.

Exporting data in Applicationmanager fails with Error 10054

If that doesn't work try stopping and restarting the applicationa and the server and reconnecting then doing th eecport.3. Check to see that you have a good connection to the server. When you run an export you must maintain a connection to the server, if you lose it the ecport stops.4. If all else fails open Application Manager on the server itself and run the export from there.Hope this helps,CB

IOException error=87

Hey you all,
I got this strange error, when running a binary out of my java program (via the Process class), my Program crashes and I get:
java.io.IOEXception: CreateProcess: ....exe error: 87

at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:364)
at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:326)
The ....exe 's are the path to the executable plus two command line parameters. I don't seem to find a list of those error codes. I think, 2 was file not found, but 87 ????
Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't know either, so I went to Google and gave it the keywords "Dos error 87", and it had several places that told me it means "Invalid parameter".

Getting an IOException error when I attempt to input.

Sorry, but I'm a newbie. Most of my programming knowledge was restricted to C++ and I just now jumped into Java on something slightly higher than the basic level. I'm attempting input just to try to get the basics down and I've encountered the following error:
---unreported exception java.io.IOException; must be caught or declared to be thrown
When I have the following code:
     String InputString;
     InputStreamReader is = new InputStreamReader(System.in);
     BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(is);
     System.out.println("Enter String");
     InputString = br.readLine();
     System.out.println(InputString);
Where the error occurs on the second to last line. I've checked the tutorials, but couldn't find information on this particular error.

Just wanted to state I've encountered it REPEATEDLY and couldn't find the way around it because re-reading that almost looks like I tried for all of 3 seconds before coming here. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
