IOS 5 app store in Chinese?

After upgrading to iOS 5 both my iPhone and iPad App Store applications are using Chinese as the default system language. So all the buttons etc, are in Chinese text. While I live in Hong Kong I can not read Chinese text. Anyone know how to switch it back to english? I can find no language preference for the app, and my system langauge is English.

Go to settings, then app store, sign out of your current ID and sign back in. This should reset your store back to the store associated with your ID (the US store).

  • Why is my iTunes and App Store in Chinese on my brand new iPad 2?

Why is my iTunes and App Store in Chinese on my brand new iPad 2?

Thanks. Try signing out of your iTunes Store account there in the iTunes & App Store settings, restart your iPad:

(possibly necessary but can't hurt), then sign back into your iTunes Store account and see if that's fixed the problem.

  • Extremely annoying App Update bug in iOS App Store

Previously when iPhone in 3G mode, iOS App Store will not download any update that's more than 20MB, even when I tapped on the "Update All" button.
However, starting from iOS 4.3, this is no longer the case. Whenever I tapped on the "Update All" button, iOS App Store will just try to download all () even though some apps are more than 500MB. To make things worse, iOS App Store will prompt me saying the apps I'm trying to update is > 20MB so no update will be downloaded for the apps, but it already marked those apps as "Waiting". There's no way to cancel this other than cold reboot the iPhone.
This is very annoying when I have several apps to be updated, and one of which is the app that I'm using often. I won't be able to use the app until I can find a Wi-Fi to try to complete the update.
Please, please, please fix this annoying bug!

I have this annoying experienced too, my friend have 69 apps waiting for update, when I click update last night, over 30 apps are not usable and I have to wait the download process.  What's worst is that I and my boyfriend uses different account. The update just keep prompting different password - and keep saying its a different store.  annoying. Apple un the upcoming 5.0 should fix this user at once!

  • I noticed one bug in iOS App Store

On iOS App Store, in Top Free category in Top Chart option there is a app which is not free.

    Hi Sharik Kurikkal,
If you have concerns about how a list may be appearing or the items that are listed on the App Store, you may want to send in feedback about what you are seeing to the iTunes Store; you may find the following page helpful:

  • Developers from Cyprus are eligible post paid apps in ios app store?

Developers from Cyprus are eligible post paid apps in ios app store?
    in Google Play only free.

    1) I do no know if it is normal. Be thankful.
The requirements for them being free is:
GarageBand is free on the App Store for all iOS 7 compatible devices; additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated on or after September 1, 2013. See www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/ for iOS 7 compatible devices. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.
    copied from http://www.apple.com/ipod-touch/specs.html
    2) They should install and work
    3) Yes you should then be able to use them on your iPad at no cost.

  • IOS App Store hijacked by Bible sellers?

I object to the fact that when searching in the iOS App Store with the keywords "student newspapers," the results are mostly Bibles.  The Bible sellers apparently have hijacked the iOS App Store by learning how to game the system to generate their apps in the wrong category, as Bibles are not student newspapers.
Please fix the iOS App Store so that Bibles are not listed when people do a search for student newspapers.  I have reported this three times, but nothing has been done about it.

    Hi Hamid,
I had realised that my iPhone Date & Time settings were not on auto so I can manually change them. Also I had heard rumours that other peoples' iPhones were doing the same thing as mine. I had looked into it for a day or so and found the answer on a website from Google.
I checked it and it worked!
    Also thanks
    Jack

  • IOS App Store Publication

If you register as an Apple Developer for the iOS App Store, do you have to maintain your membership for the app to stay in the store, or will it remain even if your membership expires?

If your dev account isn't current, your apps disappear from the store.

  • Trouble selecting security questions for iOS app store

We bought my daughter an iPad mini for Christmas, and until today, were able to happily download apps from the iOS app store. But this morning, it prompted me to select three security questions before allowing a download. Which is fine, but it wouldn't provide any security questions to choose from. Steps to reproduce error:
    Select an app to download/install
Receive prompt to select three security questions
    Click OK
Receive prompt to enter apple ID password
    Enter password
Receive dialog box requesting to select three security questions/answers, plus a rescue e-mail address
Click area to select first question
Receive a blank white box, which never fills in with anything
I'm baffled: nothing ever shows up in the box described in step 8), so I can never select a security question, so I can't continue the process of downloading apps. I've tried this several times over the course of the day today, and I'm getting nowhere. Any thoughts?

Ok, problem solved. It turns out that rebooting the iPad caused this to start working correctly. So I recommend a restart if anyone has this problem.

  • IOS 5 App Store is Chinese

Since I installed iOS 5, the App Store on my iPhone is all in Chinese.
I have tried reseting the language in International settings and have just restored my iPhone via iTunes but it hasn't helped.
No other Apps seem to be affected, though I did have two new calendars in the Reminders App which I discovered translated as Home and Work. but I simply deleted them.
I really don't get it, why has this happened? I'm in the UK!
Any help. please, this is very frustrating!

    Weird thing!
I've been having another problem in that since installing iOS 5, all my future Calendar entries have duplicated, so I was trying to figure that out as well. I deselected them from syncing with iCloud and that deleted ALL Calendar entries and then resynced the old fashioned way, via iTunes.
After doing this, my App Store was back in English!

  • IOS App Store purchase buttons greyed out

So, we have two iphones and two iPads.  Today, I upated one of the iPads to 6.0.1 and now, in the APP STORE, all the purchase buttons are screwed up.  First, they are no longer rectangle - they are square and only showing the first few letters.  Second, they are greyed out - can't depress them.  All my other devices work fine, just this one.  I've tried shutting down all the apps in the task bar and hard resetting the machine.  I also tried logging out of my apple id and re-logging back in.  Nothing works.

I solved it.  I forgot that installing iOS 6.0.1 screws with your settings - randomly on each device - four devices I've installed this on and four different results.  While going through settings, RESTRICTIONS were activated which presents installing apps.  Also, had to relog back into Messages and Facetime.  VERY un-Apple.

  • IOS 6.1.2 - "Request Timed Out" - iOS App Store Updates

Since upgrading my iPhone 5 and iPad mini to iOS 6.1.2, the "Updates" tab of the App Store no longer loads. It shows a blank screen for a long time and sometimes then shows a popup "The request timed out". The badge count over the App Store icon still shows a number, both on the home screen and over the "Updates" tab icon in the App Store.
I have tried restarting, and on both wifi and cellular. The rest of the App Store appears to work and load normally.
One or two tweets on this but not much else so thought I'd start a topic. Anyone else got this?

I have the same problem as the original poster, running an iPad 2 with the latest iOS updates. The proposed solution (the problem seems to have just gone away for some users) does not hold true for me.
I have closed and re-started the App Store app, to no avail. Also, the rest of the app store is available, just not updates. The app badge shows that nine updates are available, but clicking on the Updates tab always results in a wait of several minutes, and then a message that "The request timed out" with no further information.
Next I will try re-starting the iPad itself. Since many, many others are having the same issue, I would suspect Apple is aware of the problem, despite the customary lack of acknowledgement.

  • Redownload apps in iOS App Store...

Is anyone else having problems redownloading apps in the App Store on iOS devices? Both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S can not redownload an already purchased app withou repurchasing it. I thought redownloading was a feature of iCloud and used to work in the past. I'm not sure if it's the sudden surge in app store downloads from the holiday season, or if Apple decided they don't want us to redownload apps without paying again.

I should specify that I can redownload apps through the update tab in the App Store. However, I've been able to redownload apps by going to a specific app and it gives me the option to "Download" instead of "Purchase".
