IOS 7 - iTunes radio & Safari

Maybe I'm nuts, but when I play iTunes Radio and switch to Safari it pauses. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm not swtiching to a video or any other media file on a website, but iTunes Radio cuts out.

See https://discussions.apple.com/message/23114007#23114007. Resetting my iPhone solved the issue for me.

  • New iOS 7, iTunes Radio or Pandora Problem

Before the new iOS 7 update, when I came into work each morning, I played Pandora and it worked fine.  I did the iOS update on my iPhone 4S and iPad 2.  Music played fine on both at home.
At work, it played one song in iTunes Radio.  After that it endlessly shuffles and never stops on a song.  This happens on both my iPhone and iPad.  Also, now Pandora won't play more than one song before it refuses to play music.
I suspect there is something in the new iOS that is conflicting with something on my office's security or server?  Before I harass my IT guy, I was wondering if anyone had an answer.

It is not just Pandora.  It happens for the new iTunes Radio, too.
I am no IT expert, but I had my office's IT guy turn something off in our security system and the music played fine.  We can't leave it off because it would put us at risk.  However, we are switching some hardware in our security system anyway, and he feels that will solve the problem.
That said, it is clearly a conflict with the iOS, since it never happened before.  I would bet that Apple will not admit to any issues, but will quietly fix it.  For now, I am playing music at work on my data plan.  It is a bit of a hog of data, but for a few weeks, I can live with it.

  • IOS 7 iTunes Radio Bug

Just to make things easy I created a video and uploaded it to youtube demonstrating the bugs I'm experiencing. So instead of writing a long, confusing post you can see for yourself the exact issues I'm having.
To briefly sum it up: iTunes Radio doesn't save my preferences ie. when I select songs to play more/songs to never play again and I also get a bunch of repeted songs (same song will play every 4-5 songs). See video for full detailed description.
Any help is appreciated. Let me know if you also have this issue. Thanks.

I think you'll find you'll get more replies and more help if you explain what your problem is here in the forums, in writing.
    Best of luck.

  • ITunes Radio - iOS 7 - parental controls?!

I can't find a more specific forum to place this question, so sorry if it's in the wrong place! We just downloaded iOS 7 and can't seem to find a way to delete or restrict iTunes Radio - especially the preset "channels" that they have in there!  Totally inappropriate content for my children - help!  Any advice????
    Thank you!

I'm the original poster and posting a follow-up to my above question.  I called Apple this morning and spoke w/a Senior Advisor, who confirmed what I'd suspected- you can't delete the music app, or the iTunes Radio portion of it, or the Featured Stations scrolling across the top.
They filed a "complaint" on my behalf, and also told me to post it on the feedback website on apple.com.  I've done that and am hoping, that if there are other parents out there that agree with me, would you please also leave apple this feedback?  (apple.com/feedback).
I know this is an easy fix for Apple - they could just restrict iTunes Radio in Restrictions, or restrict the music app altogether, or have some sort of filters WITHIN the app, so you don't have access to all of those Featured Stations, etc.  There are TONS of workarounds - but Apple needs to hear from more people than just me.
I was surprised that they went to such great lengths to make the Safari filtering so manageable for parents in iOS 7, but missed this area of iTunes Radio.

  • I purchased a song from iTunes radio through Apple TV.  The song does not show up on my iOS devices or my MacBook Pro?

I tried out the new iTunes Radio last night through my Apple TV.  Even purchased a song.  Can't find the song through any of my iOS devices or my MacBook Pro music library.  What am I missing?  It said that the song would be on my devices.  Help?

    Hi Dreanmachine1,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
When you purchase a song on your Apple TV, it is available on all of your devices. There are a few reasons why you may not see the song on your iOS devices or your MacBook Pro. They may not be set up to download purchases automatically, or you may not have been signed into the iTunes Store.
I'd suggest trying to download the purchases on your other devices using the steps in this article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

You may also want to check your automatic download settings, so you can receive future songs automatically. See this article for help:

  • How to I get itunes radio on my iphone four with ios 7

How to I get itunes radio on my iphone four with ios 7

So I was having the same issue and through guess and check I think I figured out the problem.
Essentially iTunes Radio is only available in the US, hence your phone needs to know you're within the borders of the USA.
I went into Settings > Privacy> Location Services > System Services (at bottom of the screen) and started playing around with some location systems I had turned off to preserve battery life. As soon as I turned on the "Setting time zone" function, iTunes Radio became available again.
It looks like Apple uses that system service to determine location of the phone and thus the availability of iTunes Radio.
You may have to close out the Radio app and restart (or even restart your phone) to make it work but so far so good for me.
    Good luck!

  • Where is iTunes Radio? I have updated to iOS 7.1 and subscribed to iTunes Match! Can't find it! (In Canada)

So I was all excited when I updated to iOS 7.1 and saw we were getting iTunes Radio! Even subscribed to iTunes Match so I could get it ad free. iTunes Radio is not showing up on my iPad Air or iPhone 5s. All of my hardware and software is up to date on the phone iPad and Mac desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :-)

I used to listen to this all the time YEARS ago. Now I can't even get it in Canada? One of the reasons I sort of hate Apple. It's love hate but leaning more towards hate these days. Bash away Apple lovers.

  • Can't locate iTunes Radio after installing iOS 7

    Hello,
I have recently upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7. When i click the "Music" Icon in the bottom, It shows me blank screen & can't see iTunes Radio.
Is this iTunes Radio restricted to US region?
I am using non-US iTunes Account, is that could be the reason?
    Regards,
    Vinay

I believe iTunes Radio is only avilable in US..

I was having the same issue, I even powered down my iPad 2. Then it dawned on me, even when you restart your iOS device, the application is STILL RUNNING. I closed the application itself, and then restarted it, iTunes Radio immidiately showed back up. Hope this helps and works for others.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Where is iTunes Radio in iOS 8

Where is iTunes Radio in iOS 8 on my iPod touch?  When I open the Music App there is no "Radio" button.  The button at the bottom left is "Music"

Hey John, maybe this will help, Comes strait out the "iPod touch User Guide For iOS 8" pages 128 and 129. The book is free from iTunes. This link goes into greater detail: http:/support.apple.com/kb/HT5848  Hope it helps, Cheers.

It didn't show up in my music app for several hours.   Don't know why... But it's there.
I can now access and add stations through the iTunes Store to play through music app icon.
