IOS 8 on my iPad 2 just plain doesn't work.

I'm beginning to suspect that IOS 8 was designed by the marketing dept with one object in mind: to get me to scrap my iPad 2 and buy newrer device. Not since I was a prisoner of Windows Vista have I seen such a poorly designed upgrade. You people aren't stupid, so I can only assume you did it on purpose.

NOW while it is true that various users have had some issues with their iPad and iOS 8 ... there have also been quite a few iPad 2 users reporting that they have no problems. What that means for you is that it is technically feasible for iPad 2 users to operate just fine with iOS 8.0.2.
In addition to that, there have been numerous iPad 2 users who were initially reporting problems and then found solutions here and everything is working fine for them. But each person's issues can be different from the next user. We have also seen that when one user reports a solution, a certain number have success and others don't. Therefore, those users who don't have succes with the provided solutions that have worked for other users ... will have to keep looking ... or they will need to contact Apple Support.

You could check with the police, see if they have it listed as stolen.
If you can get into the settings of that ipad you can 'erase all content and settings' and start fresh.

Compressor just plain won't work

I read all the threads about getting a stuck Compressor to work. I tried all the suggestions. Manually removing compressor & qmaster, using the Automation script someone posted, uninstalling FCS with the utility someone else posted. It just plain won't work. Luckily I have an old copy of Cleaner or I'd really be out of luck. This is the weirdest thing. I've never seen a program behave like this. Run but not do anything. Anyone have any new suggestions? Short of wiping my drive I don't know what to do.

The only thing I would add to Gary's suggestion is to go into Safe Mode first then Repair Permissions, Safe Mode forces several things to happen like a directory check, a special fsck mode...
to get into safe mode hold the shift key while restarting until you see the words safe mode (in red)

iPad 2, Since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 the cellular signal indicates I do not have a SIM card. Monday spent hours on the phone with Apple support, backed up my iPad, reset all settings, reloaded my iPad and it still tells me I don't have a SIM card. Tuesday went to AT&T and got a new SIM card on the advice of apple support. It worked perfect until this morning and the NO SIM CARD notice reappeared. Never ever had any problem until the upgrade. I find it inexcusable that Apple refuses to address the issues they caused, iOS 8.0.2 is the Ebola of iPad 2 world. I dont have any cellular service after wasting two days trying to address and fix a problem Apple is responsible for. It's obvious Steve Jobs is no longer running the company. Furious & fustrated. How does Apple expect anyone who uses an iPad 2 for work, to remain a customer who will return to their products?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

After upgrading to ios 7.03 my ipad freezes, but the clock still works

Hi, after upgrading to iOS 7.03 my ipad freezes, but the clock is still running. So i reset it and it works again. I'm using the logitech solar keyboard folio with it. It has worked flawlessly before the upgrade. It seems to happen intermittently. When it first happened I had the keyboard lock on. Then the screen was black, but when connecting it to my pc, itunes could recognize the ipad and I could backup everything. It happened occasionally, so I removed the keyboard lock. This seemed to help at first, but now it freezes anyways. Only difference is I can see the background and my apps on one of the pages. And the clock is running.
Help much appriciated.

I updated my iphone 4 to the new ios 6 and now it doesn't work. It keeps shutting off when I use the apps and try to make calls; when it does shut off I can't get it to turn on again as well. I have tried to hold the home button and the lock button simultaneously but that doesn't do anything. I have tried 3 times to restore it but I keep having the same issue. The power percentage does not increase either. I charged it all day yesterday and last night and it still reads 54%. It only stays on when it is plugged into the wall outlet, not to my computer as well. Can anyone help?

Try going to Settings>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

V7 Audio just plain doesn't play

I made the mistake of upgrading.
Now sometimes (but not all the time) when I open iTunes I click on a song or library or something and click on the play button and nothing happens. The play button turns to a pause button and the song comes up in the top, but the song does not play and the line thingy (technical term) doesn't move. Am I the only one with this problem? Closing and opening iTunes doesn't fix it. Restarting my computer does sometimes, but that gets a little tedious. This worked perfectly fine in the last version so I have a hard time believing it's a driver or something. I don't have any third party plug-ins. Can anyone help?

What you are looking for is workaround No. 5: Burn iTunes Songs to Audio CD
Generally it is recommended to work with AIFF files in iMovie/iDVD. To convert your iTunes music go to Preferences > Importing and choose AIFF Encoder from the drop-down menu. Now all music will be imported as AIFF. In addition to that you can ctrl-click existing files and choose "Convert to AIFF" from the pop-up menu.
Note that this will duplicate the files, so after conversion you'll have for example one m4p and one AIFF with the same name.

My iPad screen is black but the iPad itself still works. I reset the iPad but it still doesn't work. What can i do?

When i went onto my iPad this morning it was completely fine and working but once i took it to college with me the battery had ran out, so later on tonight i plugged my charger in and left it charging for about half an hour, when i went to go back up onto it was just a black screen and every so often when i pressed the power button it would flash blue for a split second then be blacked out again...
So i had a look on this community to see if there was any solutions that could help and i found a case similar to mine so i tried to reset in hopes that it worked but it never did. I know that the iPad itself is working as i managed to unlock my iPad when putting in my passcode and i was able to get notification through as well, but after the reset i saw the apple logo appeared and it flashed a few times and i could see the setup on the screen to set it up as a new iPad.
I don't know how or why the screen will not work properly, so any help would be great

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

The iPad's hardware system doesn't work.

I have an iPad 2, which won in 2013 and today the hardware operating system this product is fail, as the screen freezes, it turns on and off alone, applications open and close alone. In 2014 and now the screen is just flashing with lime-green color, which does not allow display the menu or settings and neither Homepage and often shutting alone and can not reconnect the unit, by simply not ascend the operating system so effective.
I took the product back to the company OMNI Computer Apple Support Brazil in Curitiba -PR, and this gave the report that my warranty is quenched to receive a new product and that I receive a new iPad 2 I should pay the amount of R$ 990.00. However , the problem that clomplaint is not collateral or other , but that the Apple operating system does not work.
I contacted Apple support over the phone and was told that at the time he took to OMNI iPad, I still had 38 days of warranty.
Besides Apple and OMNI violate the Code of Consumer Protection , targeted to abuse my rights , ratify the information cited , I have had to date many annoyances, such as stress, mornings and weekends lost without resolutions .
Have I contacted the phone to Apple support again and many records there own links, ordered procedures to remedy this situation , the items were scored for solution : take the iPad for Assistance and restore it .
I performed the two steps, but nothing concrete had company OMNI and Apple, nor a constructive feedfack and that could solve everything without the need for other means of resolving facts .

Please just ask a question, we don't need a story about the history of the device. Explain the symptoms and maybe someone can help.
Based upon what I can understand from your post, try the standard troubleshooting...
1. Remove apps from the Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
2. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
3. Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
4. Restore with your backup.
5. Restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it. You may need to try DFU mode (Google for it).
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

My ipad air was stolen. Besides the find my ipad app (since it doesn't work if they don't hook up to wi-fi) any things else that can be done

I had my ipad air stolen and tried using the "find my ipad app" only to realize it won't even track it unless it it hooked to wi-fi! I am sure thieves figure out how to use it even with my pass code on. Is there ANY thing else that can b done to track it? Serial number possibly? Please please anyone with info please help!

No, there is no other way to track it. If you have a pass code set and are using iOS 7.x.x then the thieves simply have a bricked iPhone that is useless to them.

I can not log on to my itunes account on my second generation ipod but I have no problem with the log on with my ipad. The password doesn't work on the ipod touch. Thoughts???

I have the same thing, same issues. Just came from Colorado using my iPad extensively with no problems.
Get back home, there is an update on my home computer for Airport Extreme to 7.5.2 which I updated. Also updates for iPad for 4.3.4 and now last night 4.3.5.
Still does not work. I have not taken the iPad to another network locally, but my understanding is that it is not a problem with the iPad but with Airport Extreme's update. I have done all the resets, restarts, and turning on and off Wifi on the iPad and that does not work.
I would have to assume Apple is working on it. Very frustrating since I am on my Mac Pro, iPhone 4, and other things and no problem.
