IOS in Flash Builder in cs5.5
I had the trial of Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 and it allowed me to make iOS projects, which the corporation I work for suddenly felt I needed to develop this past week. I requested Flash Builder be bought for me for that purpose, to creat iOS apps, and the company bought the CS5.5 Master Collection for me (which made me smile). Giddily I installed it all, not realizing that, for some reason, it only let's me build android mobile apps.
Is this a common problem? Everywhere I look on the internet everyone is saying how they love the ability to develop cross platform apps, but me...I can't.
What's up? I feel like it's a simple problem, perhaps a matter of just isntalling some extension or some such thing.

You will need to run the Adobe products updater to get the 4.5.1 update to FB 4.5 that will then allow you to output to iOS and Blackberry.
Open any Master Collection product, such as DreamWeaver, click Help, Updates and let it fly. It should find the new update for 4.5 to bring it up to 4.5.1.

3D content for iOS using Flash Builder? Possible?

Is it possible to use Papervision or Away 3D using Flash Builder 4.6 and compile this succesfully for iOS?
I have previously had lots of fun with Papervision and I am just wondering if it is possible to create 3D interface content for iOS and/or Android?
HRI think Away3D (and possibly PaperVision) uses Pixel Bender shaders. They don't work on mobile devices, AFAIK. But Stage3D is supposedly coming to AIR mobile soon. That should blow the socks of any software rendering. I think Away3D will be supporting it.

You need to download and install the free upgrade to Flash Builder 4.6 --> http://www.adobe.com/products/flash-builder.html?promoid=FDLKS
Download the trial version and use your FB 4.5 serial to upgrade for free. Once you do that, you should see iOS targets for Actionscript and Flex Mobile projects.

How to show video in iOS by flash builder 4.5?
I use VideoDisplay show local flv file, when publish to Andriod mobile phone, it worked , but publish to iphone4, it do nothing.
But when I use video control attachCamera, it can work, why?iOS does not support flash video.
That is not correct. We play flv just fine on the iPad, both locally and streaming over RTMP.
We are using the AIR 2.7 SDK with Flex 4.5.1. -

IOS support for Flash Builder 4.5.1
I am getting the following message when I try to export a releae build to iOS using Flash Builder 4.5.1:
This platform is not currently supported for Flex Mobile projects
I have tried running the update again and gives me the update was successful message, but I still don't have iOS support.
I did update using the Eclipse updater and was unable to open Flash Builder, but since resolved that issue. I wonder if I need to reinstall Flash Builder and reapply the update or if there is an easier fix.I just created a project with Adobe Launchpad (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/airlaunchpad/), and it looked like I setup all the options for iOS, but when I go to run configurations and try and deploy to an iOS device I'm getting the same problem: "This platform is not currently supported for Flex Mobile projects"
Anyone know why? -
AIR for Apple iOS Support in Flash Builder is not installed.
I've written an application in Flash Builder and I'm now attempting to get it running on an iPad.
I am running on a Mac (OSX 10.6.7)
I have FB 4.5 installed and downloaded the separate 4.5.1 update file successfully updated FB to 4.5.1.
I have downloaded and installed AIR 2.7.
I have downloaded and installed the AIR sdk.
I have an iOS developer account and have created my developer certificatn p12 file, created an Apple Id for my application and a provisioning profile.
I created a new "ActionScript Mobile Project" for my application and enabled the Apple iOS platform.
I have entered my certificate and provisioning information into FB.
I created a "Debug Configuration" for my project.
When I run my debug configuration, I am prompted for my Certificate Password (which I enter).
I then receive a pop-up message with the following error:
"AIR for Apple iOS Support in Flash Builder is not installed. To enable packaging support for Apple iOS follow these instructions."

I have Flash Builder as a part of the CS5.5 Web Premium (on DVD), which does not appear to have a "AIR for Apple iOS Support" option during the FB installation.
So I followed the manual installation steps provided (although copying the described folders to my sdks/4.5.1 folder (rather than the sdks/4.5 folder).
However, doing the above did not resolve the issue. I still get the same error message as before.
Has anyone else encountered this issue, or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Launch flash builder from flash cs5 don't work

I have a trial version of flash builder (eclipse plug-in) and registered flash cs5 pro

at first it did asked if I want to edit the file in flash builder or not, and it didnt work.
now it won't even ask.
what can I do?
and also I cant open a flash proffessional project in flash builder, it says "This feature requires Adobe Flash CS5 or higher to be installed."
but it is installed!
frustrated...I gave this a shot, using CS5, and when I started a new AS3 file I got the appropriate prompt asking me which application should edit my file...

When I chose Flash Builder, (which I had already running), it opened the new AS3 file there with no problems. Interestingly, when I closed FB, and with Flash Pro created a new AS3 class, I wasn't prompted (and the AS file opened in Flash Pro) - so it does require that FB be running, or else Flash Pro will be the default editor.
For the issue of Flash no longer prompting you "Who" will open a new file, you can change that here:
Edit > Preferences > ActionScript > Several items down is the Class editor. Change that to Flash Builder
If you still have problems...Are you able to successfully launch Flash Builder 4 by itself? Or has the trial expired?

Flash builder 4.7 and 3.5 sdk not able to complete an IOS release build
Hello, I am having a problem when I try to make an IOS ipad release build it never able to finish and fails due to compiler errors. I am using window 7 and flash builder 4.7 and AIR sdk 3.5. I have one actionscript mobile project linked to 5 libraries that were built in 4.6. I have rebuilt all the project to support 3.5. I can compile and play a debug version of the game in both standard and fast mode. When I try to do a release build it goes to 4 percent and then fails.

My project compiled fine last Thursday, but I opened it up on Monday (unchanged) and this error showed up in several files. I tried quitting and restarting Flash Builder to no avail. I could not replicate the problem in a new project.
For me, each occurence of the error was at a private function definition, so I thought I would try changing "private" to "public" on one of the functions. The error immediately went away in all 3 locations (not just the one I edited). I then changed it back to "private" with no error.
I hope that will help the Adobe team track down the problem. -
Should I use Flash Builder to develop for iOS?
We have a sizable AIR application built using Flash Builder 4.5 that is deployed on Windows and Mac. We tried to package it for Android and it simply failed to run at all. Apparently there are many namespaces not supported on Android. We've since stopping concerning ourselves with Android because the vast majority of our clients only care about iPad when it comes to tablets.
So, the question I have that remains very elusive to me is: do I attempt to build an iPad version of our product on our existing AS3/Flex code base using Flash Builder, or should I port over to xcode and go native iOS? All the marketing I see surrounding Flash Builder says that you can build apps for iPad. But just how practical is this for anything more than trivial apps? Adobe AIR is supported on Android and it failed to work, which doesn't give me much confidence in trying to make this work on an iPad. Now that Adobe is moving away from Flex does it make any sense to even attempt this?
What say you Adobe?

How to easily get an Adobe Flash CS5.5 Professional project into Flash Builder 4.5?

I am new and trying to do the following, can you please guide/help me do it:
I have a video chat application that is done on Adobe Flash CS5.5. I had the problem of "echo" so I wanted to use "getEnhancedMicrophone()". When I replaced "getMicrophone()" with "getEnhancedMicrophone()", Adobe Flash CS5.5 Professional didn't recognize it. I knew I need Flex, so I installed Flash Builder. And then got lost. What I simply want is just import my "FLA" file (or if I need to convert it to something else using a specific tool, let me know.. I have Adobe Flash CS5.5 Professional and can install other required applications if needed) done on Adobe CS5.5, into Flash Builder, and then "support Flex" so that I compile with the flash-version argument required.
I am totally new to MXML and Flash Builder, and even Flex. I don't know how to import a FLA and add "Flex" libraries into it simply to make "getEnhancedMicrophone()" work without the need to recreate the whole thing on Flash Builder. Can you guide me please? The output is for a web SWF file, not a desktop application.
Thanks!I have the same problem here. I'm trying to do a stick animation on cs6, but to be more precise, i need to actually draw with a larger brush size. I suggest using the pen tool with the smooth option on. You can't see exactly where the stroke will be, but its better than nothing, and it more or less acts like the brush anyway.

In the video the class files are associated with the FLA, when you switch back to Flash Pro...
So far, when I follow these steps the classes are not associated with the FLA, the class field for the stage in Flash remains blank.
Also, clicking the edit icon in the properties of a MovieClip and allowing FB to create the file, does not associate the as file with the MovieClip.
Returning to Flash Pro and clicking the Edit button attempt to create a new file once again, but since the file already exists in FB it just remains on the New ActionScript Class dialog, with the Finish Button grayed out (because a file with the same name already exists in FB).
The resulting AS files for a given are created in a sub folder under:
Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/[Project]/src-[Project]/*.as
Yet the FLA is located in Documents:
Documents/[Project].fla
Should the as files exists with the fla, is a folder reference supposed to be set, or did I miss a step somewhere?
Is a source path supposed to be added to Flash Pro for:
Documents/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/[Project]
I am currently on a Mac, but noticed the same behavior in Windows at work yesterday.

CS5 Web Premium without Flash Builder Premium?
So after spending an arm and a leg, you do not get a Flash Builder Premium with CS5 Web Premium but only Standard? This surprises me as I thought Adobe's greed is not as big as long term goals, promotion of Flash platform, being nice to users, especially as we all know Flash is a bit thin on some platforms and on the web at the moment. Obviously I was wrong and the greed surpasses all imaginable levels.
I frankly don't get the calculation where for the same price I get a State Of The Art Hardware - Mac, plus all the Apple dev tools for FREE. That's a computer, yes a laptop, the best out there, brand new, PLUS the software. On the other hand Adobe (with whose products you can't build and sell as good apps as with Apple's), is selling you Web **Premium** at a very high price, and YET you have to pay even more to actually get FB **Premium**.
Is FB considered like a useless add-on into the Web Premium bundle? Did they think, heck nobody will need it but let's give the basic version there to promote it a bit. Sort of like when you buy Windows, they give you a trial of some Antivirus software. Or is anybody thinking that FB is something I will use 80% out of Web Premium bundle? Or should it be packed with Video bundle? I really don;t get it.
So it's like this for the same money
Apple = Mac + Great Dev Tools + Tons of other apps
Adobe = CS5 Web Premium minus- FB Premium
To be fair, I did hear a rumor that if you complain to Adobe Customer Care, that they give you a license for free, which is the only fair thing. However, I'm waiting for quite some time now as my support case is on hold. What do you guys think about it and do you have any experience with it?Gritty_d it appears that Flash Builder 4.6 is only included with Production Premium and Master Collecton CS6 - http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite.html. It is not included currently with the Creative Cloud.

Publish video to flex ios application from flex app in flash builder 4.6
Hi, i am publishing my live video stream from flex application like this

but i am not receiving yet anything on my simulator, but in mean while when i publish my video from flash media live encoder, my flex ios application runs it smoothy..:)
