IOS Pages - outline feature doesn't "just work"

The outline feature in Pages on iPhone doesn't allow continuation of numbering.
What should be like this:
I. Main point
A.
B.
II. Main point
A.
B.
Looks like this:
I. Main point
A.
B.
I. Main point
A.
B.
Every main and sub point restarts the numbering no matter how many levels deep you go. It reverts to I. or A. Or 1.
Has anyone figured out how to make this work?

you can get the remote app back BUT There is no way to do it unless you want to break apples TOS.

ICloud video sharing deadly slow, or "it doesn't just work"

I uploaded some photos and videos using iPhoto 9.5 on Maverick.
I can see the photos uploaded to iCloud in a few minutes
but the videos takes tremendous time (1~2 days per one movie) or just doesn't show up forever.
(video codec : 960 x 540 mp4 H.264, about 3 minutes long)
is this because I'm in China? (cause the iCloud servers are all in US?)
or is this kind of Great Firewall thing?
or is this just because the iCloud service is not so stable yet?
I really like the concept of iCloud, and really hope that it just work without worrying all these things....

I didn't post this as a question. It is just a comment out of frustration. I was trying to make a point that Apple markets iChat heavily and then here we are, a bunch of relatively saavy computer people, and we have problem after problem after problem with no less than half a dozen solutions that may or may not work. And if they do work, there is no guarantee they will continue to work, especially if you upgrade your system. And for the average person, there is no way they are going to know how to configure port forwarding, turn off DHCP, experiment with DMZ, etc.
At the very least, Apple could make a self-diagnosing product that would tell you what ports are not going through and give you a hint of a solution. If the ipod was this bad there would be class-action suits all over the place. Apple simply doesn't care and/or recognize the problem while shamelessly using it to sell computers.
All of that being said - Ralph, users like me (and Apple!) owe you a lot of gratitude for your countless hours of support in this forum.

Doesn't "just work" - it just doesn't work

While the 802.11n is certainly zippy, using the time capsule as a base station is a complete disaster. My airport express is now useless and not configurable (error -6765). Tech support says that apple has been aware of the problems but didn't have time to fix them or document them before shipping.

I think you spoke to an idiot, to put it mildly.
To begin with you cannot use the Express in "n". You'll have to switch the TC to "g" and do WDS with the Express.
It works, you just need to know the specifics of what "works" means.

Instant Hotspot doesn't "just work."

I have a rMBP15 and a iPhone 6 Plus and want the mac to tether to the iPhone using Instant Hotspot. It does... sometimes. Then it doesn't and I have to go through a seemingly endless cycle of shutting down and rebooting, deleting and reestablishing network settings, etc., before it starts working again fairly dependably, until it stops working again. It's not working right now, and the shutting down and rebooting or both devices, and the turning off and on of WiFi and Bluetooth on both devices, has not turned it on again. So at this point I typically have to bring out the big guns of reseting network settings and forgetting networks and setting everything up from scratch. Which is a royal pain. What's going on?

More info: Both devices have the latest OS versions as of today. I can pair the rMBP15 and iP6+ and then manually tether via Personal Hotspot, so there is no problem with the hardware, cellular carrier, or old software.

Airport Extreme with Airport Express as extender. It doesn't "just work".

Just installed the airport extreme base station with an Airport Express for extending the network with a home network that includes a Windows XP desktop and a MBPro. I set everything up with the MBP. My goal was to stop all the resetting I had to do with the Linksys system. The XP is near the cable modem so I plug that into the extreme directly with ethernet. The extreme is plugged into the cable modem. My MacBook Pro I connect wirelessly into the internet from about 60 feet away wirelessly (the Express works as an extender to boost the signal). It all works fine for a few minutes, then if I have to close the MBP for a few minutes, when I come back, I still have a "5 bar" signal, but the MBP won't connect to the internet. When I look at the network settings, I keep getting this error:
"Airport is connected to the network ("my network name"). AirPort has a self assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet".
I have a cable moden with dynamic IP addresses. I've set everything to "automatic" and still have this problem. I think when the IP adress changes, my home network dies. It is still live with 5 bars but no internet connection. I paid $300 for a router and an extender because they were Apple products, but, ****, I almost can't even work anymore.
I guess the core of my question is, why can't I keep internet connection after I close the lid on the MBP or shut off the machine for a few minutes?

I have a network with 2 airport extremes (the old round one and the new gigabit ethernet) and an airport express. I have seen this issue while I was setting up the network. From what you wrote, I am guessing you have the following issue:
You have 2 airports configured with the same network name and password, but your WDS is not setup corretly, hence you think it is connecting to the airport with modem attached, but it is in fact connecting to your other airport with no modem attached (hence the self assigned IP). What is happening in fact is that you have 2 seperate networks with identical names. If that is the case, you should only see one airport at a time when you open the airport utility app.
If that is in fact your problem, you have to make sure to set the main airport as WDS main and enter the MAC address for the remote base station and click update, while it is updating, rescan and the other base station will show up. set that one up as WDS remote, and enter the MAC address for the main base station, and click update. Once the update is done and both base stations have restarted, your networks will be joined and you should see them both appear in the airport utility.

IOS 6 Bug? VIP feature doesn't work w/ ActiveSync mail

I noticed that the new VIP feature doesn't work against ActiveSync mail. The feature works as advertised with my Hotmail account, however.
I am able to select VIP users from within my AS account but their emails are not being filtered into the VIP folder. I do get an audio alert however when their emails come in.
is this by design or is it a bug?

I use Active sync on Exchange 2007.
I have 1 user, my boss, currently set to VIP and it is working ok.

Text messages and imessages marked as delivered yet not received since last update. I cannot make sense of the troubleshooting page, why does this complex machine not just work?.

I updated my iphone -again, and now my girlfriend (and who knows who else) is not reliably receiving messages. I try sending as iMessage and as SMS and have iMessage checked in my options and send as text message if iMessage doesn't work also checked. It was working fine, I updated, now it's patchy at best and although messages are marked as delivered they aren't and I don't know unless I phone the recipient up. Have tried restarting, resetting and digging through the trouble shooting pages... Apple products used to just work, now my phone is like a puzzle that I have to solve. I'm ditching apple in October when my contract is up but would like to send texts in the meantime, any ideas?

I tried copying a photo and pasting it in another event/group within iPhoto but the paste feature doesn't work. This wasn't an issue with both Leopard and Snow Leopard. Do you have any solutions or tips?

I bought a new MacBook Pro with OsX Lion as operating system. I use iPhoto a lot and when I tried copying a photo then pasting it to another event/group, the 'paste' feature doesn't work. This wasn't the case with Leopard and Snow Leopard where the 'paste' feature worked. What I did was to paste the photo first to the desktop before transferring it to the new event/group. I brought my Mac to the Apple store where I bought it and the technicians were themselves surprised that the 'paste' feature didn't work. Chalked it up to glitches in the Lion os. So how do we fix this? I just find it absurd that a feature that used to work in Snow Leopard has been disabled in Lion, and the user still has to undergo an additional step to make it work, when new technology is supposed to make things easier for users.
Also, hasn't anyone noticed that it takes longer for the computer to boot upon opening?

Instead of copy and paste drag the photo to the new event. Or flag it and use the add flagged photos to selected event command

Why doesn't doFilter work was expected when a .jsp page is accessed?

I'm hoping an expert could point me in the right direction or tell me
          if this is a bug in WebLogic.
          My environment is WebLogic 6.1 (service pack 4), on Windows 2000.
          I need to capture all the response data that comes back from the
          servlet. So, I have a simple filter that wraps the response object,
          and sends the wrapped object into filterChain.doFilter() method.
          I've set up the web.xml so that any servlet access should trigger my
          filter (the <url-pattern> is /*). I've also configured a sample
          web-app called TEST to serve .html/.jsp pages.
          When the browser makes a .html request, everything works as expected.
          After the filterChain.doFilter(), I can take a look at the wrapped
          response object and print the contents of the response.
          However, when I access a .jsp page as part of form data submit, the
          output stream of my wrapper is empty after the filterChain.doFilter()
          completes.
          If I don't wrap the response, then everything seems to work fine. The
          .jsp gets interpreted properly by the servlet container, I can see the
          result page in the browser just fine.
          By inserting debug statements, I can see that if I wrap the responses,
          for a .html request, under the covers, wrapper's getOutputStream()
          gets called. But for a .jsp request, under the covers, wrapper's
          getWriter() gets called. I don't know how significant this is, but
          this is the only difference I see!
          If I don't wrap the response, I am not sure how to get at the response
          data. All I need to do is to take certain actions depending on the
          response. That is why I'm using a wrapper to get at the response data.
          In the JRun AppServer, the code just works fine.
          I've enclosed the source code & the output that demonstrates the
          problem.
          What am I doing wrong? Or, is this a bug in WebLogic? If this is a
          bug, is there a patch available?

If someone else runs into this, here is how I solved the problem -
          If you create a PrintWriter object with the autoflush option, it
          doesn't flush the underlying buffer till you call println on it. I
          looked through the generated code for the servlet, and it was doing a
          JSPWriter.print() to output information.
          So, I changed the ResponseWrapper to keep a handle to the PrintWriter
          object, and then flush it in the filter, and that works.
          Why the same code behaves differently in JRun & Weblogic, I'm not sure

Is there a document outline feature on Pages 5.0.1

Pages '09 has this neat little feature where i can detail the paragraph style useing the document outline feature. I am looking for this in the newer version of Pages but i can not seem to find it. I do know how to edit the paragraph styles but it is the particular outline feature that i am looking for.
I'm just hopeing is somewhere deeply hidden in the program where i have yet to look.

Pages'09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Trash/archive Pages 5, after Exporting all your files to Pages '09, and rate/review it in the App Store.

Copy/Paste Style not working consistently in iOS Pages

I cannot figure out what is going on with iOS Pages Copy/Paste Styles.
Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. I copy a style, and then select the text I want to paste the style to, and the 'paste style" option doesn't appear. It's as if no style was copied in the first place. Tried multiple times with the same result.
Also, it is not really clear to me WHAT is included in iOS Pages styles. It appears the font and size is included, but not the color. Not sure about other elements (line spacing, etc.). Is this described completely someplace?

"Fit slideshow to music" feature doesn't work

I've selected "Fit sideshow to music" on a slideshow I've made. Using a song imported from my iTunes library. Ken Burns effect is switched on.
But the feature doesn't work. The song ends but there are still more slides to show.
Isn't the idea that the computer will speed up the pix so they end just as the music ends?
Anyone know how to fix this?

"Exclude page from menu" doesn't work

Choosing Page > Page Properties > Menu Options > Exclude page from menus doesn't work for me in the current release. Anybody else having this problem?

Just tested both your process and again by going to Plan View > rt-click on page > Menu Options and both instantly remove the page.
Have you tried just making simple/quick test site with 2-3 pages and trying?
Maybe somthing in your site and not in Muse that's causing the issue.

Thanks for the replies. It took a while not hearing anything so thought I was alone. I have done many of the suggestions already. The key here is that it occurs on both phones with apps, and phones still packaged in a box.
A Genius Bar supervisor also checked his Verizon data usage log and found the same 6 hour incremental use. Suprisingly, he did not express much intrigue over that. Maybe he did, but did not show it.
I think the 6 hour incremental usage is the main issue here. I spoke with Verizon (again) and they confirmed that all they do is log exactly when the phone connected to the tower and used data. The time it records is when the usage started. I also found out that the time recorded is GMT.
What is using data, unsolicited, every 6 hours?
Why does it change?
Why does it only happen on the iPhone 5 series and not the 4?
Since no one from Apple seems to be chiming in on this, and I have not received the promised calls from Apple tech support that the Genius Bar staff said I was suppose to receive, it is starting to feel like something is being swept under the rug.
I woke up the other day with another thought ... What application would use such large amounts of data? Well ... music, video, sound and pictures of course. Well ... what would someone set automatically that is of any use to them? hmmm ... video, pictures, sound. Is the iPhone 5 succeptible to snooping? Can an app be buried in the IOS that automatically turns on video and sound recording, and send it somewhere ... every 6 hours? Chilling. I noted that the smallest data usage is during the night when nothing is going on, then it peaks during the day. The Genius Bar tech and I looked at each other when I drew this sine wave graph on the log print outs during an appointment ...
