IP/Network Camera Support ?

Hello All
Could anyone please tell me whether Flash player supports IP
/ Network based cameras ? I have been trying to configure but I
couldn't find any other API other than Camera.get().
Is there any other way of configuring such cameras ? Does
future release of Flash support IP based cameras?
Please share your thoughts on this.
Many thanks,
-Sakthik

There was a discussion about this over on Flashcomguru not so
long ago. What you need is an IP camera with an embedded webserver
and the FLash VM. The FLash VM can act as a Flash client, which
would allow you to make the netconnection.
If you hppen to find an appropriately equipped IP cam, please
post about it here. I"m, sure there's others who'd like to know
about it.

Since the D-Link DCS-932L is accessible on the local network via a web browser, you should be able to access this camera from the Internet if your router has a publically accessible Public IP address. If your ISP provides you with a dynamic Public IP address, you may want to use a DDNS service to make it easier for you to locate your camera whenever your ISP changes your IP address.
Start the AirPort Utility > Select the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn).
    Select Manual Setup.
Verify that Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address is selected on the Internet > Internet Connection tab.
Select Advanced, and then, select the Port Mapping tab.
Click the plus sign to add a new port mapping.
For Service, leave the default; this will change to "Custom" once you start entering port values.
In the Public UDP Port(s) and Public TCP Port(s) boxes, type in a 4-digit port number (e.g., 8888) that you choose. In the Private IP Address box, type the internal IP address of your camera. In the Private UDP Port(s) and Private TCP Port(s) boxes, enter the appropriate port values that should have been provided to you by the camera manufacturer. Click Continue.
In the Description box, type a descriptive name like "Internet Camera Access," and then, click Done.
    Click on Update.
To connect to the shared Camera from a remote location using a Mac or PC:
    Start your favorite web browser.
Enter either your Public IP address or DDNS-provided Domain Name, followed by a colon and the Public port number that you choose in step 7 of the previous procedure. For example: http://123.123.123.123:8888 or http://www.mydtdnsdomainname.com:8888

  • Network camera access via airport extreme ie: i need to assign a port and a

please help me i have a cabin in the mountains that is off the grid... and i use solar power... i have my internet access via wifi and an antenna... it goes to a d-link router in my electric room then from there via a cat 5 cable to a apple airport extreme base station... and i would like to plug the camera into the base station via a cat 5 cable....
i am trying to set up a network camera to via a airport extreme base station.... the tech support on the camera end (airlink 101 skyIP cam500 model aicn500) said to enable port 80 and to assign a IP address (which i have)... apple support has been unable to help me after almost 1 hour with tech support.... here is what the camera tech support page suggests....
You will now need to forward the Second HTTP Port through your router to the IP address of the camera. If you have an AirLink101 router, we have instructions in our knowledge base for port forwarding. If you have a router from another company, you will need to contact them for instructions on port forwarding.
When accessing the camera from a remote location you will need to open a browser and type in the internet IP address of your network (not the ip address of the camera) and the port into a web browser. The address and port will need to be typed in like this:
    http://x.x.x.x:port
    x.x.x.x = Internet IP address
    port = Second HTTP Port
Here is an example of what it would look like: http://123.123.123.123:81
    can anyone please help me?

i can not thank you enough for taking the time time to help me!!! i really appreciate it.... i have done the set up with the d link router and am now trying to access the camera from the web.... but i am having trouble logging in and finding it? i am not sure what ip address to enter into my web browser? i think that i need to add the ip addresss folllowed by a forward slash and then the port # 80.... but what ip address should i add? in the device info part of the d link router i have found a number of ip address's... but none of them seem to work? what am i doing wrong? or not doing? my apple base station is set up in the bridge mode with a password to protect it...
    thanks again...

  • No sound in OSX for Panasonic BL-C131A Network Camera

I successfully installed a Panasonic BL-C131A Network Camera on my network and can view it on my iPhone or over an internet connection in Safari or Firefox. The only trouble is that I cannot hear the sound output while streaming video from the camera on my iPhone or a compatible OSX browser. The cameras sound codec is apparently not supported in OSX. I have Windows XP running on an iMac using Bootcamp and the sound comes through loud and clear in IE. Is this a problem on Panasonic's end or is it just that Apple refuses to support this product? This would be a really cool camera were it not for the lack of audio on my iPhone and Safari. This is a wireless network camera and can be placed anywhere to remotely monitor my home. it can be remotely tilted, up and down, and left and right and zoomed in and out. But the sound just does not work in OSX! Any suggestions?

The cameras are designed around Microsoft and Internet Explorer. You will not get audio, MPEG-4 video and audible alerts with Firefox and Safari.
In addition, this affects phone viewing. Different phones use different and sometimes proprietary browsers. Not all can view the actual camera page from their phone like the iPhone which uses Safari.
There is a /mobile that can be added to the end of your Viewnetcam.com address and even then depending on the browser software - that may not work. With this one there is no live stream and updating the image is done manually.

  • Communicating with an Axis 205 network camera

Need to create a simple application so that I can contact my network camera. I have the API provided by Axis Communications. The camera supports HTTP 1.0, and the specific syntax for requesting an image is : "http://myserver/jpg/image.jpg". Need to request the image from Java, storing it before converting it to RGB.
    Any ideas?

You'll need to install the Java Media Framework (JMF) and register a custom plugin to handle the HTTP-based MJPEG stream from these cameras. I've written a library that uses the Axis API v1.1, but I'm not sure if it will work with your specific camera since you don't list a model number.
    Check it out here:
    http://jipcam.sourceforge.net
jipCam provides a Java Media Framework based datasource to read from different Internet Protocol based video cameras. A computer with Java, and the Java Media Framework, can install jipCam as a JMF protocol handler to allow an IP-based camera's video to become available for processing in JMF. This library is intended for use by developers seeking to build applications using IP-based video cameras on a Java platform.
You guys can use this library to integrate the MJPEG stream from the Axis camera with JMF to get the camera images as Buffer objects in JMF. There are numerous examples in the source code.
    best luck,

  • Linksys Cisco WVC210 Network Camera - Problem

    Hello Cisco Members,
I have problem with one Linksys Cisco WVC210 Network Camera.
When I Power ON, the PowerLED blinking, other 3 GreenLED light and on LCD Display have nothing.
I make 30 seconds push resset button, 30 seconds power OFF and havent result. When I connect it to
Router with DHCP, this camera can not take IP Address... I do not understand where is a problem with
    this camera.
I write here to get a fix of this problem.
    Regards,
    Vivendi

Try power on and after 90 seconds go to the Browser and type in 192.168.1.99 (assuming you are on the 192.168.1.xx LAN network) and see if you are able to get to the firmware page, if yes try reload the firmware, if you are not then I would recommend returning the product by getting in touch with Cisco's Tech Support and get an RMA number and instructions on returning the product and get a replacement.
    Alan.

    Hi,
Network camera streams MJPEG which flash cant read.
I tried with socket connection to connect to inbuilt server of the network camera, but no success
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
Back in the day you could use an Add-on called iUSBCam for iChat (and other apps)
This had a camera guide as many people started off using USB cameras rather than the Firewire iSight.
Many linked to Drivers at Macam
The other popular one was the IOXperts site that no longer seems to be there.

  • Port Forwarding For Network Cameras On Infinity

Basically if you have network cameras and want to access them remotely with BT Infinity, get rid of your BT Home Hub 3!
Whatever configuration they have inside for their infinity setup, the ports you open for your cameras will never be accessible. I was aware of this before the installation from reading about it online but these were old posts and hoped this problem may have been resolved by now.
Anyway sure enough once the installation was complete I setup the ports for access to my cameras and found them to be inaccessible. BT checked and confirmed I had configured the hub correctly but said there was nothing wrong with the equipment and it must be the line. Mean time I connected and setup my own router and sure enough the ports were accessible immediately which confirmed it was their hub/router and not the line. I told BT and they decided to send out another hub which in my mind I already knew wouldn't work (and it didn't). When I told them, the only answer their technical people could give me was to come on here and ask cause they were unable to comment on my findings and they could be of no further help with the issue. So save yourself the hassle of waiting for replacement routers and use your own. Doesn't need to be expensive, just a stand alone router and plug it into your BT Openreach modem and set your router's PPPOE user to: [email protected] and leave the password blank and you're done, the one I'm using cost me £29 a year ago and works a treat, no drop in speed and can now access all cameras remotely as before with ADSL.

The default DHCP table on the home hub only supports 192 or 172, but you do have the option to create a range that is suited for you.

  • HP Network Devices Support service will not start

Product: HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one (C309g)
    OS: Vista Business 32 bit
    Errors:
When running the "Add Device" portion of set up to add the printer to my PC so it can be accessed wirelessly this pops up in the back ground: "The specified service does not exist as an installed service."
The result of the above process is the following message in the HP installer screen: "The HP software that enables networking is not responding. Cancel the installation and restart the PC."
As you may guess, I've had this printer for a while couple/few years at least, and I've been running it wireleslly for quite some time.
The printer is active on my wireless network, printing Wireless Network Test Report from the printer proves this. I can also access the printer's webpage by entering its IP in a web browser.
We first perceived the issue when HP Solution Center reported that the Printer was no longer connected. And it suggested doing something with the install, which sent me down the road of unintalls and installs.
I've run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which tells me the printer is installed for use via USB, but the networked instance is not installed.
I still have the orginal instal CD for this printer. Running setup off the root of the CD, i get the "Later Version already installed" or something to that extent.  I've also downloaded the most recent Basic and Full Feature Instals from HP site.
I've used Revo Uninstaller to do my uninstalls and I've run CCleaner after all the apps are gone from the program list.
I've read somewhere that this is related to the "HP Network Devices Support" service.
In computer management I can see that its not running, and it is set to start "Automatically (Delayed Start)"
When I try to start this service I get this: "Windows could not start the HP Network Devices Support service on local computer Error 2: They system could not find the file specified"
Somethings that have been done on this machine recently, i'm not sure when the Printer problem started...
    Installed Quicken 2013
    Installed iTunes
Changed my home network from Public to private on this machine so I could set up some media servers.
I've check through all the quarantined files of my antivirus and there didn't seem to be any HP files in there.
I'm  hoping my issue is in fact this service, and somehow replacing the missing file its refferencing will fix it all.
My next step is to uninstall everything again, and make sure that service drops out of the list too, then reinstall from HP download.
    This question was solved.

I would suggest using the software scrubber built into the install to clean everything out. The steps below will walk you through it.  Before doing step 10 from a CD or step 15 from a download, check the both program files folder to make sure that the HP folders get deleted.
    From original printer installation CD:
    1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
    2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
    3. Open folder Util
    4. Open folder CCC
    5. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat for non-HP computers.  For HP computers run the Uninstall_L3.bat

    6. Type %temp% in the run field
    7. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

  • Panasonic network cameras no longer work with new versions of Firefox.

I have been viewing my Panasonic Network camera, model BB-HCM381A using Firefox for several years.
Starting with Firefox version 15.0.1 and again with 16.0.1, 16.0.2 and 17.0.1 the browser begins to display the streaming video, but then drops the signal after maybe 20 seconds. Refreshing the page brings back the image for another 20 seconds, and then drops it again.
All previous versions of Firefox before version 15.0.1 worked great. Now I have to use Internet Explorer exclusively. It would be great if you could fix the problem.
Example of viewing the streaming video can be found at www.bandon.tv, which may require installing a plug-in from Panasonic.

I see the same happen, but it takes longer. It is possible that the server gets too many visitors and drops some of them. A right click and "This Frame > Reload This Frame" also works. I also notice that frames get blocked (it skips seconds), so you may need a faster server.

  • Is there anyone who can recommend a network Camera that works with OS X10.9

I just upgraded to Mavericks and love the OS.  I just updated my printer to an HP that is compatible with Macericks and it works wonderfully!  Now I am looking to add a network camera that allows multi camera viewing and can be viewed on my Iphone or Ipad or Macbook, etc.  Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what to try.  All the major brands that have high ratings are compatible with 10.6 or 10.7, but I see no mention of 10.9 - any suggestions would be great!

For what it's worth, I purchased the Axis 207W. Indeed it worked with Safari via Bonjour.
The setup took a while to figure out, but wasn't any more difficult than setting up a wireless router.
With things set properly I can view the camera from anywhere on the Internet and get e-mails sent when motion is detected by the camera.
All this and it works well with my Apple set up (laptops and Airports).

  • Video Streaming from a network camera!

    Hi,
Does anybody have an idea how to go about streaming video from a network camera using applets? I know its possible in JMF, but I was wondering if its possible without that because I guess it needs the user to install JMF. Or a way with JMF but total platform independent?
    PLZ.

i am not sure about the archive stuff neither am i very good at java. I am just a trainee here and wa given this task. so I went up searching on google, found these sites and then when I wasnt able to run the applet, I researched about running jmf applet. the setting classpath and stuff is given in the jmf website and even an aaplet which tests if jmf is installed on your system. I was just trying to act as one of the users trying to run the application. i was just trying to find an easier way out but guess there isn't.
now if anybody of you would know how go about getting a video steam from the IP camera using JMF?

  • Why can't I run the latest Java on Firefox to operate my network camera? It does not find Java. Please Help!!

I just installed a network camera in my home correctly and signed in to view what was on the camera. But after logging in , info comes up with" cannot find Java" with an install button. I have the latest update of Java and the Firefox browser. There is no red block in the search bar that asks me to allow the site to use Java nor does it ask me to allow the site. I did uncheck the box in the control panel as it tells me to do in Java so that it asks me to use Java. Nothing works. I am so tired of installing and uninstalling, clearing my cache. Opening and closing my browser and reading info to fix this. I just want to be able to view what my camera films. Nothing on the firefox site answers or solves my problem. And believe me I've tried til my head is spinning. Someone has to have an answer. I need a vacation after this...Lol...
    Thanks...

The Java plugin doesn't show in the System Details List.
Is 32 bit Java installed on your computer?
You can find the latest Java version on the Oracle website.<br />
See Java Platform > Java SE 7U45 (JRE Download)
You need the 32 bit JRE for Firefox.

  • Wireless Network Cameras

Can anyone explaing to me step-by-step, how to attach a wireless video camera to my network and have my Mac recognize it. I just returned to amazom.com my Linksys wvc54g cause mac won't recognize it. I would like to use Evocam or Security Spy, or IveZeen in order to record wireless video.
Is anyone out there knowledgable about this keeping in mind that most of us are novices at networking. I set up my Linksys router to my Airport extreme card in my G5, and it's working fine. Only, I want to purchase a wireless camera, ( a D-Link 900W I hear works).
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I have been using Macs since 1984 so I am a little familiar with all the other aspects of my G5.
Thanks in advance for your replys.

I googled "wireless network camera for mac" and came up with, among others, this:

  • 8.3 Is Not Just for New Camera Support

I read all through the gumph when DPReview announced that ACR8.3 was available, and decided not to bother because it only seemed to support some new camera models.  But just seen a post in John Nack's blog that suggests there's a bit more to it.  So in case I was not the only person missing out...
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2013/11/camera-8-3-rc-for-photoshop-cc-cs6-available-on-adobe -labs.html
    or
Camera 8.3 RC for Photoshop CC & CS6 available on Adobe Labs
Camera Raw 8.3 is now available as a release candidate on Adobe Labs for Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC on Adobe Labs. For both versions it includes the new camera support mentioned below, and for Photoshop CC includes the following new features:
Whites and Blacks now support Auto Levels-like functionality via shift-double-click on the sliders.
Separate Auto Temperature and Auto Tint feature. Shift-double-click to invoke “auto temperature” and “auto tint” separately.
Ability to option-click shortcut in Synchronize, New Preset, Save Settings, and Copy/Paste (Bridge) dialog boxes. Option-click a checkbox to check that box exclusively. Option-click again to toggle previous checkbox state.
Set the background color of the work area. Context-click outside the image in the work area to select a background color from a popup menu.

I thought I started this thread in the Photoshop forum, but I guess it might have been moved.  Just my mind set, because I never browse this forum.  The thing is I had people like JJ in mind who I am not sure if he will continute with the CC trial, and may just use CS6, but I hadn't thought about the extra features being for CC only.
