IPad (3rd generation) does not automatically connect to wi-fi.

iPad (3rd generation) does not automatically connect to wi-fi.  It is fully updated to 5.1.1 but you have to manually connect after turning off and back on.  I also have an iPad 2 with the same OS but it automatically connects.  The wi-fi has no security.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Ipad 3rd generation does not seem to handle photos very well.  I have a ipad 2nd and iphone 4s, and they both are able to handle photos that my Ipad 3rd can not.

So here is my experience.  When I first aquired the IPAD 3rd, I did the normal sync with Itunes (windows) and found that very few of my photos came over.  Even though these were the same photos that are on my IPAD 2nd. Same for my phone 4s.  After much consternation, I was able to get photos on the IPAD 3rd, by identifying photos which could not be synced.  These "problem" photos sync fine with my ipad 2nd and iphone 4s.   There is also another issue with IPAD 3rd.  There are photos that take 5-10 seconds or so to "focus".  Even though the focus issue is not apparent on my other devices (ipad 2nd, iphone 4s and windows computer).   The other related issue is with the sync. process.  Syncing photos will quit the entire sync. operation when it encounters a problem photo (with no errors), rather then skipping the bad photo and moving on.  I analyzed some of the problem photos and could not identify any single issue - there are all a little different.  For example one was the result of changing the format options from optimized to standard... but this was not always the case. Others were chaning the format from "Exif JPEG" to "JPEG". while others I could not ever get to sync. In all cases I did a save as using various options.    However, the bottom line was that all of these same photos sync fine and view fine on my ipad 2nd and iphone 4s.   I have not yet figured out what is causing the issues with focus delays.   I use an olympus pen camera (12 meg resolution).

    This works!
go to settings> general>restrictions>privacy and allow changes.  Make sure that your camera is on under allow!

Windows 8.1/IE 11 Does Not Automatically Connect to the Internet
I can't find the dial and redial options anywhere.
I' m connecting through PPPOE but only manual.
I know that in windows 7/8 a program like IE9 or IE10 could connect to the internet, but now it just says that I am not connected to the internet.
How to connect automacally to the internet and how to let IE to connect automatically to the internet, and why I don't have the options for dialing and redialing like in Windows 8?
    Thank You

    Hi,
Sorry for my dilatory reply, what does your mean that IE dialing to connect to internet?  Did your system can connect to Internet? or just IE 11 couldn't connect to internet. you can
check your IE poxy setting in Connections of Internet options.
If you encountered any IE problem, you can try to reset IE for test to resolve this problem.
If you need further assistance on this particular issue or any other Windows related issue, let us know and we will be glad to assist you.

  • Wicd does not automatically connect to eth0

Wicd works fine using my wireless network. It does not automatically connect to eth0 when I plug in a cable, but I can connect to it by pressing connect manually.
I already have ethtool installed (do I need to run ethtool as a daemon???)

stabele wrote:I have two maybe naive question:
1)are you connected to wireless network before you plug in ethernet cable? If yes, than wicd does not automatically switch to wired network. Maybe you can get it done by custom scripts wicd support for each connection, but I never used this thing in wicd.
    2) do you have disabled in rc.cong interfaces you want wicd to manage INTERFACES=(!eth0 !wlan0) ?
Thanks for your answers, 1) no I'm not connected to wireless, and 2) eth0 is disabled.
I found out it works fine if I connect eth0 manually and then I can remove and plugin the cable all I want and it automatically connects. This is because dhcpcd is already running for eth0 so maybe I should run dhcpcd eth0 in a boot script (although I think wicd should do this).

  • Does not automatically connect to wireless network anymore

Mac Book does not automatically connect to know networks any longer.

    Hi sashton,
When troubleshooting Wi-Fi connectivity issues, I find the following resource has the most relevant information:
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628
Furthermore, you may want to avoid giving your network a common name. While the following article (and excerpt) refer to iOS devices, the same applies for your Mac:
Avoid giving your wireless network a common name (SSID)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4450
If you were to give your wireless network a common name (SSID), users of your network who use iOS devices [sic] and are away from your network would run the risk of joining a different network with the same name. Having joined the unexpected network, they would be exposed to potential data theft.
Because of this security issue, Apple maintains a list of common or ambiguous SSIDs, including the default SSID for many commercially available access points, as well as the SSIDs "wireless" and "default". If your network's name is on the list, any iOS device [sic] that joins the network stores the access point's BSSID and associates it with the network's SSID. Subsequently, it will only auto-join the network if the access point's BSSID matches the information the device has stored. This avoids joining a different network with the same name.
Therefore, you may want to refer to the following article when configuring your Wi-Fi router:
iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Thanks,

  • My iPad 4th generation does not mirror with Apple TV

My iPad 4th generation does not mirror with Apple TV. I can listen to my music but I can't use other apps.

    Hello, Manny0860.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are a couple resources that I would recommend going through when running into issues with AirPlay Mirroring.  Also, when selecting AirPlay on your iPad make sure you also select Mirroring.

  • Yoga 13 does not automatically connect to Wifi at times

My yoga 13 does not automatically connect to WIFI at times thought it has been saved to automatically connect. It will connect after I click on the WIFI icon in the desktop and then it sees the WIFI network and automatically connects to it. Though it is not a big deal it is minor inconvenience that I have to click that icon at times when internet doesn't work. This shouldn't be the case for a laptop that retails over 1000 bucks. Any suggestions?

This happens to me too. I haven't found a solution yet either.

  • My Ipad (3rd generation) will not back up to iCloud

My iPad (3rd generation) has not backed up since Sept. 14. I have the latest iOS 8.1.3. It starts but ends abruptly. Any suggestions?

    Howdy gigi40,
If I understand you correctly you can tap the "Back Up Now" and it appears to start, but it then stops and nothing happens. I would start by quitting the Settings app on your phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Why is it that my ipad 3rd gen does not charge while connected to my laptop

my ipad 3rd gen will not charge while connected to my laptop, just beside the battery meter it states not charging.

Beacause the USB port of most computers don't supply sufficient current to properly charge it. It is best to charge it using the supplied power supply.
