Ipad calendar & contacts

I honestly don't know which forum this belongs in but I"m gonna start here since it invovles my ipad.
I have an ipad 2, iphone 4s and sync email/contacts/calendar with a microsoft exchange server. A few weeks ago the server blew up and all users info got wiped out. IT guy has been working on recreating everyones data through various means, mostly off people using Outlook on a desktop. I do not do this, work basically through ipad/phone.
Luckily, my ipad was in airplane mode so never synced with the server and thus has all my data on there. How can I get this data to my phone, or back to the exchange server, or entourage?? I did a backup of the device. The IT guy pulled the info from there and tried to get it into outlook but it did not merge properly and most of the calendar is missing. Is there a way to make the ipad info be the "master"? Or can I get that info into ical or entourage and just stop using the exchange server? Problem is, as soon as I go off airplane mode, the ipad will sync and lose everything.
Can anyone help me, or offer any ideas of where to turn for help??

Thanks Skydiver. I do have birthdays on my contacts, so, yes I can see the birthday in my calendar with a little parcel by it to distinguish it, but what I want is to be able to put the year of birth on the birthday entry on my contact details so that the calendar entries will show how old the person will be at each birthday. I do have one entry which shows me the year of birth on the Contact and so the age on the birthday in Calendar but this was shared with me by another contact and I do not know how he entered the year of birth.
Any more suggestions?

Lack of these options must be an oversite and hopefully an update will soon be comming out implement these quick features across the board on all apple devices?!?! Until then - any ideas?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

TS4118 how to sync calendar/contacts with imac, ipad, & iphone

I am having issues syncing with all of my products and would love some assistance, please.
I have the new ipad and the iphone 5. I also have an imac running Mac OS X (version 10.6.8). I can sync the ipad and iphone 5 with icloud but I end up with a lot of duplicates. Nothing seems to be syncing with the imac.
I used to be able to keep my imac as the primary item that I would make all of the changes on, plug my ipad into the computer and when it would sync (over itunes), it would make the calendar/contacts adjustments on to the ipad, but since getting the iphone, that just isn't happening any more. Is it because of icloud? Now, there is nothing on my imac calendar - the iphone seems to be the primary with both the ipad & iphone having a ton of duplicates (both in the calendar and the contacts)!

While waiting for a reply, you can read the documentation that was in the box your iPad came in. It's a book about a Spanish guy called Manual.
The answer is iTunes. Download it. Install it. Read the instructions. Use it.

How to sync Calendar, Contacts, Notes between Mac, iPad & iPod?

      I have a MacBook Pro using Mac OS X 10.6.8、an iPad using iOS 7 & an iPod Touch that uses iOS 6. And everyday I use iCal、Address Book、iWork (includes Pages、Numbers、Keynote) in Mac computer, use iWork also on iPad as well as use Calendar、Contacts、Notes both on iPad & iPod Touch.
I have trouble keeping all my files on my Mac computer、iPad & iPod Touch up to date and hate updating each of them manually. Hence I have two questions:
1) how may I sync the files of the applications mentioned above between my Mac computer、iPad & iPod Touch without using iCloud? (perhaps through iTunes or my e-mail account?)
2) if I must sync the files through iCloud, how may start my iCloud service for free?

Automatic does not work for me on this particular task. . My primary computer is an iMac. On travel I use a MacbookPro. I want the MacbookPro to have the same Contacts list as the iMac. I am logged into iCloud on both computers. The MacbookPro needs to be syced. On it I logged out of icloud, and in doing so I chose to delete files from the computer. Then I logged in again to icloud. That put a lot of additional lists of groups into the Contacts, lists that are not on the iMac. But some individual pages are not updated to match the iMac.
I tried to manually copy (and overwrite) the various files on the MacbookPro that seemed to deal with the Contacts, including
my Library/Applicatiion Support/AddressBook
my Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
They are still not the same.
On my Macbook I unchecked the Contacts, which deleted them and checked them again. This now deleted all of my groups and the individual ones are not synced with the iMac.
So now I have had three different versions of Contacts on the Macbook, as I manipulated turning on and off iCloud, and not one of them has been the same as on iMac.
How do I get the Macbook contacts to be the same as on iMac?

Trying to find out is there an easy way to get my android phone calendar to sync with my iPad calendar.

Assuming you can sync your android calendar over the air with a Gmail account, you can do the same with a Gmail account on an iPad that is created as an Exchange account. The same for syncing Google contacts.

I have temporarily solved the sync problem by using an older MBAir running snow leopard, I exported
both calendar and contacts and imported them in the MBA and synced normally.
Since I'm not about to send my data on the cloud, or setup a server to just sync my iphone,
I think this is a good workaround ! BTW I stopped updating my contacts and calendar on the MB, I only
update the iphone until a permanent solution is found !
And they better come up with one soon, because I'll just switch to an Android phone and Ubuntu linux for my MBP, Apple should make our lives easier, not harder !
I'm sure Samsung is having a ball ever since the sync issue was made public !
Hopefully Apple is listening and will make things right again !

After installing iCloud on PC, appointments are grayed out in my Outlook iCloud calendar; don't show up on iPad calendar but do show up on iPhone calendar

I have been working on this issue for DAYS and have searched the web and this support community but can find no answers. I have a PC, iPad, and iPhone. I installed iCloud on my PC so that I could sync calendars, contacts, and maybe tasks. Nothing I have tried has worked.
The iCloud calendar that appeared alongside my Outlook calendar on my PC has all of my Outlook appointments - but they are all grayed out.
The appointments that were on both my iPhone and my Outlook calendar are now grayed out on my Outlook calendar - but if I close my iCloud calendar in Outlook, these appointments are no longer grayed out. These appointments now appear twice on my iPhone.
The appointments in my Outlook calendar appear in my iPhone calendar but do not show up in iCloud in my web browser nor on my iPad (not even grayed out).
My contacts appear to have synced from Outlook to iPhone - but have not synced with iCloud online nor my iPad.
This is beyond frustrating.
Some basics:
Windows 7 Enterprise, 32 bit
Outlook 10
iCloud is enabled on the iPhone and iPad
phone and pad operating systems are up to date
I turned off and then restarted my iPad - didn't work
I turned off and then restarted my PC - didn't work
I uninstalled and then reinstalled iCloud on my PC - didn't work

I'm having the identical events...Outlook calendar entries grayed out on my PC installed iCloud and absent on my iPhone. iPhone entries do show up in Outlook.

Why after IOS6 Ipad calendar not syncing with Icloud?

After I upgrade Iphone and Ipad to IOS6, my Ipad calendar doesn't sync with ICloud using exactly same Apple ID. Any sugestions?

1. Fire up your Mac and connect the iPad.
2. Open iTunes and confirm that you are NOT syncing via the cable. Change settings as appropriate. When finished, disconnect the iPad and power it down.
3. Open iCal on the Mac and confirm that the events are correct. Add/delete events as appropriate. Quit from iCal.
4. Open System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync
5. Click on "Advanced" and then click on your Mac when it shows up.
6. Click on "Reset Sync Data"
7. At the top, Replace: Calendars
8. Click the right-pointing arrow so that the complete text states: "Replace Calendars on MobileMe with sync info from this computer."
9. Click "Replace"
10. You've confirmed that your Mac and MobileMe are set up properly. Now the iPad. Fire up the iPad and go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
11. REMOVE Calendar syncing from the account that's identified by your email address.
12. Follow the instructions below.

This happened ever since google dropped support for exchange. There is a work around.
go to settings
then mail contacts and calendars.
Add account
select other
select under calendars.......add caldav account
then goes as follows
server: m.google.com
username: full email
password: your pass duh!
description: whatever you want!!!

How do I import Google Calendar into iPad calendar?

I have followed the directions on the Google website. I went under Settings>Mail, Calendar & Contacts>Google and selected calendars. I also went to the website, https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect and followed those directions. I still am unable to view my calendar on my iPad.

Have you tried exporting the bookmarks from Google (on the left hand side of the page towards the bottom) and then importing them to Safari (Safari menu > Import Bookmarks...)?

Correct, USB local sync was taken away from iphones and ipads with 10.9.1 and 2. We are not allowed to speculate on rumours it might come back in 10.9.3 plus new iTunes. Either wait and see or explore Syncmate 5 beta free trial.

I'm guessing outlook doesn't support iCloud or vice versa or the settings for iCloud in Outlook are turned off. Just a guess though I don't use Microsoft products if I can help it.

TS3999 Yesterday my iphone and Ipad calendars stopped syncing.

Yesterday I noticed that my Iphone and Ipad calendars stopped syncing. I tried running an iCloud backup on both devices but nothing changed.

1) Settings>iCloud>Calendar>ON.
2) Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>scroll to Calendars section>Default Calendar>iCloud.
3) Open Calendar app> tap the "Calendars" button (upleft corner)>tap "Show All Calendars".

Synching iPad Calendar to MacBook Pro

I am able to enter events in my MacBook Pro calendar and they show up on my iPad calendar, but not vice versa. I have run through set up twice, rebooted iPad, both calendars. Contacts went from iPad to MacBook, but not Calendar.

If you're trying to sync an iCloud calendar, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar on your iPhone and make sure you have selected your iCloud calendar as your default.
