IPad Genius keeps recommending iPhone/iPod-only apps

I'm seriously annoyed now by the Genius implementation on the iPad..
The selection button clearly says "iPad Apps", but still I get recommendations for tons of iPhone/iPod-only apps.
Is there any way to limit Genius to only pure iPad and Universal apps?
Also I wonder where the "iPad Upgrades" option gets its data from.. I keep getting recommendations for apps that have nothing to do with the apps I have already installed in iPhone versions. Weird interpretation of "upgrade"...
(also, can I please get the "purchased but not installed" search option that the iPad has also on my iPhone? that'd be fab. )

Is there any way to get "voice memo" (the iPhone/ipod touch app) onto our new iPad 3?

I know there are apps in the app store that will have similar functionality, but I want Apple's original "Voice Memo" app for it's reliability, automatic syncing with iTunes on our other devices, ability to trim easily, and the overall interface. I'd be willing to pay a purchase price, but I don't see any way of obtaining it... I'm a bit irritated as I thought this would have come standard as it did on my old iPod Touch. (I see it's still standard on iPhone and iPod Touch, too!)

Keep Music on iPod ONLY

I'm thinking about getting an iPod Classic, 120 GB, but I don't think I have the space on my computer for that much music/video. I was wondering if there was some way to have things sent only to the iPod and then kept there, not on my computer.
Like, could I keep movies on there and NOT on my computer? Thanks.

If you are talking about CD's. Yes you can import them onto your computer, put them on you ipod and then delete the files from the HD. However, you should make sure that your ipod is not automatically synced. If you are talking about songs that you have purchased from itunes...I wouldn't recommend keeping them on your ipod only...trust me...they crash sometimes!

Showing two cloud email inboxes on iPad. Mac and iPhone are only showing one inbox. Otherwise iCloud is working perfectly. Can't figure out how to resolve. Any suggestions?

Same problem here. I notice one uses the iCloud logo while the other uses the MobileMe icon. Only one shows up in the "settings" menu. The two appear when I access the email app.

Can't share videos directly on iphone/ ipod facebook app

i can't share videos on facebook lately. when i am using facebook app on both my iphone 4 and ipod touch, and i am watching a video on facebook, then i click "share" it ends up sharing a link on my wall with the thumbnail of "facebook" and a link called SHARE (m.facebook.com) then when i click on this link on my wall, it takes me to the video!
when i am using m.facebook.com from safari though, i can share the link to the video directly on my wall. any clue why is that? i dont' remember that it used ot be like this. i think i used to share video directly and normally on my wall from iphone facebook app!

The FaceBook app isn't an Apple product. Contact FaceBook for help on their products. FaceBook will be better integrated with iOS 6.

Right off there product page. I got no where . he didnt know about anyother software for the hub othere then what comes with it. I checked iTunes ans cisco has a few apps but nothing for what we are looking for. i got a case number out of this maybe if enough of us bug the crap out of them we might get a real answer. I am guessing its in development or it never worked with out flash support for the itouch and Iphone. Now we need adobe to get that finished.....

Iphone/ipod touch apps won't load on ipod touch

I have tried to download apps that indicate that they can be used on iphone or ipod touch with 2.2. My ipod touch is updated but the apps won't load. Any ideas?

i also have the same problem, i came across this topic hoping to find an answer. luckily i had just solved my problem. this happened to me twice... i resolved the first problem by restoring to factory setting which is not a good solution cause all my FREE downloaded apps were erased too. so i have to download again.... lately it happened again.. same problem.. but i have resolved it by updating my ups in app store... HOPE this wont happen again.... cause its really bothersome since there arent so many wifi spots here... programs i had are mostly free so maybe its one reason for this problem.... the last app i used b4 the problem was a pdf viewing app... hope this helps...

No, unless there is a third party viewed which can handle the passwords. The in-built viewer is a simple viewer and doesn't support password protected documents at all.
Have a search through the Appshopper website to see if there is something better.

Why does my iPad air keep freezing, it's only 2 days old

I have an iPad air that I was bought for Christmas. It keep freezing a few times a day, can anyone tell me if they have experienced this, what I am doing wrong or how I can fix this.

It's not turning on at all, it turned off and won't respond to any buttons. I've tried to charge and all it does it turn on to the apple screen than turn back off, and does this the whole time while on the charger. I tried recoverying it through itunes also, and that didn't work either.

Virtually all current iPhone/iPod touch apps work. However, they're not going to take advantage of the larger screen or any new-to-iPad features. By default, they run in a centered rectangle that's iPod touch-sized. You can pixel-double that to fill the screen, though you may see the "fat pixels" (they're there, but more noticeable in some settings than others - graphics, rough-edged letters, etc.)

Well, not quite. The iPod Touch has a retina display, for example, and the iPad mini does not. There probably are some differences in speed of processor, but you can probably look that up for yourself.
Otherwise, there are specific Apps for the iPad and for the iPhone/iPod, though many are universal and work on both. Some games, for example work on one or another, and some game developers make you purchase separate versions.
Technically, they're close, but it's all about portability I suppose. I think that Apple has an idea that there is a range of portable devices, with some overlap, between the iPod nano up through a MacBook Pro. Each step gives you trade offs in price, usability, upgradeability, etc.

My husband and I have separate iTunes accounts and multiple devices (iPads, iPhones, iPods etc) how do we share our music and apps between our devices if we have different iTunes accounts.

It probably means that only one of you can use iCloud or at least sync calender/contacts with it. I would guess that you could manually manage the other phone as you have before.

I know I've heard that iPads/iPhones can't get viruses but is it possible that they can? While using my iPad, it keeps going in and out of apps. On Facebook, status and profiles keep getting clicked and it keeps zooming in and out. Can anyone help

I Have an iPad mini, iOS 8.1. When I'm on my iPad, it keeps going in and out of random apps. Going to settings is the worse. As soon as I click settings and it opens,it starts clicking different things and tries turning on and off settings! In Facebook, profiles and status get clicked. The screen zooms in and out multiple times. It reminds me of when you call the help desk for a computer or a computer at work and they gain access and move around clicking and you're doing nothing. Basically things are being clicked and I'm not doing it.....can anyone help?

At this point, I would go for reset to its factory default condition, using the iTunes program to get a clean system install. That way you'll clean everything out and just have it set up the way it would come from the factory. You'll need to do your backup (on the iTunes program too) and be sure you understand which stuff will be saved and which will not (from the links below). Also turn off any anti-virus program you may have on your desktop. Then when you reset it to the factory default condition, don't restore your backup just yet ... until you check it out without your data put back on it. Verify its operation first, to make sure that you know it's okay. Hopefully everything is okay at that point, otherwise you'll have to take it into Apple to check it out for any hardware failure.

Do any fellow iTunes U administrators know anything about this? How is existing content presented in the new app? Would we need to change anything? How do we access / make available the new features?
The new features sound fantastic but it would have been nice to have some warning. I appreciate that Apple has to keep specific details about developments confidential but it's slightly disconcerting that iTunes U administrators were not forewarned about this new development and that there has been no mention of it on this forum. Also - and at the risk of sounding like a broken record - it really would be helpful for iTunes U administrators to have a private forum (perhaps an add-on to Public Site Manager) where we could discuss issues and share ideas and best practice etc.
