IPad Screen Question
Not sure if this is a silly question, but - my 8-year-old nephew is visiting and is totally into my (brand-new) iPad. Thing is, he has a raging head-cold... sinus congestion, sneezing, etc. I cringe when he sneezes or even just touches the screen. Anyone have any idea if the Apple-provided wipe will 'sanitize' the screen? If not, does anyone have any ideas of how to truly clean the screen? Thanks much!

Unless it says it disinfects, it won't.

To clean it, use a soft cloth.
To disinfect, use a Lysol (or similar) disinfecting wipe then use a soft cloth to clean it.

My ipad screen suddenly went dark without any external forces. At first I can hear the unlock/ lock sound when I slide across the screen and so touching is not a problem.
I proceeded to sync my ipad and was prompted to upgrade to ios 7.0. I upgraded thinking it will solve the issue, yet even the unlock/lock sounds have disappeared after which leads me to think that the ipad can't even enter the homescreen.
Since I can still see white apple and itunes mark on a lit screen during recovery mode, I don't think it's a hardware issue with the screen. I tried to restore it (with another prompt to upgrade to ios 7.02) but I failed and the restore error No. is 3041.
I copied the error log here, hope someone can give me some suggestions.

For starter, I would like to say that I don't own a tablet yet.
Now for the real question, with the new technologies everyday and with all the competition between the companies, is apple going to enlarge the size of the ipad screen or do they see it fine as it is?
Its because every year or every 6 months there is a new product coming and the competition between the brands are getting higher and I cannot afford to change a product every year so how long should the ipad lives with me? And why I should choose Apple? (Beside the below message)
What I liked about the Apple is the quality of built and apps, but in other brands I am finding larger screens higher performance and an external slot for an SD card to expand the memory.

You can use an iPad for as long as you want. Nobody forces you to buy a new one every year. Apple usually provides OS updates to older devices for at least a few years.

Quick question: How do I turn off the iPad screen when synchronizing with the iTunes. Is this even possible? Are there settings I am overlooking? Or perhaps a third-party app which can make it happen?
I have a large library and often leave my iPad connected to iTunes for several hours at a stretch. The bright glowing screen can be a big distraction, and, more importantly I am very worried about pixel burn-in.

Since you have already converted your music to 128 kbps, you are unlikely to see any more 10+ hour syncs unless you have to do a restore. In that event, you could select the brightness control in settings to the lowest level.
FYI, there are some apps, such as Night stand HD that are designed to be used for long periods with unvarying displays and I have yet to see image persistence problems reported. However, since the iPad is still a new product, there may be some reports in the future. -

I haven't heard anyone mention this, but I think Apple did something very smart with the last iteration of Pages as a set up to Pages for iPad.
For those of us who dream of having a writing station as small and light as the iPad, the real question is: Can this really work as an alternative to a laptop? Well, here are three ways Apple has already groomed us for this transition:
1. They added a keyboard dock, which of course makes real, lengthy writing sessions possible.
2. They put a version of Pages on the iPad.
3. Third, the Pages Full Screen mode on your current computer (if a laptop) looks an awful lot like the iPad screen. When I take my MacBook into Full Screen, the dimensions of the writing screen are almost identical to what I would have on an iPad. In other words, I am already typing on that narrow screen!
What do you think? [Sure, this isn't really a problem-solving question, but this is a discussion forum, no?]The question is whether the iPad screen is built to US Quarto (used by 5% of the planet) or to the International standard A4.
The proportions seem to suggest that the design is USA only.

Is it technically possible to mirror an iPad screen on 20 other iPads or any other type of tablets?

To answer your question, no. Currently, there is no solution to mirror or view an iOS display to another iOS device. Technically, it is possible, but a bit complicated. You could use software like Reflector, which will basically mirror the display to a computer. As for the other iPad's, you can install an app for screen sharing that will allow you to remote into the computer. It's not the best option, and it's complicated
There are other solutions, such as AirPlay Mirroring the iPad to an Apple TV, which might be connected to display or projector. This would be the best way to share an iPad screen. -
Stream iPad screen over wireless
Is it possible to stream the iPod or iPad screen/display over wifi direct to a wireless enabled projector like the Sanyo PLC-XL51 (http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sanyo-PLC-XL51.htm)(http://uk.sanyo.com/Products/View/PLC-XL51A)?
It would be great if teachers could walk into a classroom and use their iPads to connect directly to the projector freeing them up from being tied to the blackboard or interactive board, allowing them to freely circulate in the classroom whilst maintaining control of the projected image that all the class can see.
One option we're looking at is using the iPad to remotely control a pc or mac mini linked to a wired projector with something like the Team Viewer app. The disadvantage of this is the cost of the additional PC and the fact that the teacher would then have to log in to the PC (delaying the start of the lesson) rather than come into the class with the lesson already prepared on their iPad.
Taking the requirement for the teacher to be at the front of the classroom would then free up the design and layout of the whole classroom leading to new and potentially more effective teaching and learning environments.
Anyone else got any ideas on transforming
ChrisYou actually have multiple questions here. I'll take them one at a time.
1) Can you project an iPod/iPad screen? Answer: No. You can project certain apps/files, however. Here is the short list: (1) Web pages: use the Expedition browser; (2) slide presentations: use Keynote; (3) certain file types (Word, Excel, PDF, etc.): use Goodreader.
2) Can you use the iPad as a controller of a PC or Mac connected to a projector? Answer: Yes. Get one of the RDP apps (I use Desktop Connect, but there are several other apps that work too.)

My iPad screen is stuck on an alert message that is informing me that I have not backed up to iCloud in 5 weeks. How do I get pass this alert message.
I have been dealing with this problem since upgrading to ios 6. I have an old ipod touch that is still running ios 5.? that backs up daily with no problem whatsoever. I have attemped every solution posted on these help boards (i.e. deleting accounts, turning off all apps from back-up, restarting device, changing routers, attempting back-ups through different wifi spots) sometimes one or a combination of these band-aid fixes will work for a day or two, then suddenly the ipad (version 3) will simply stop backing up, and I will spend hours of frustration going through all the tedious fixes. All the while my old ipod touch running ios 5 backs up daily with no problem whatsoever. I have called Apple support and they seemed surprised that this is a problem and offer no real solution whatsoever.
Until Apple gets their head out of the sand on this one, and actually fixes the obvious bug that exists is ios 6 this problem will continue and will not be resolved. -
How do I lock my ipad screen so the swipe action and the side button on the screen do not work? When my cats play a game on my ipad, they regularly swipe the screen and push the side button and the game disappears.
The button on the top that you use to lock and unlock or put to sleep is the power button. The button lower center of the screen is the home button...can be used to also wake from sleep and switch to the base home screen.

Sorry, you can't do that unless they are on your LAN. I don't know of any apps that will let you do it.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
How can I get my iPad screen back on?
I cant get my iPad screen to turn on. I have tried holding the home and sleep button down and tried 'restoring' the iPad but it still not working and nothing appears on the screen. It is charged.
I was having trouble before wtih watching a video. When I went to the video app I had a TV show on and when I hit the 'done' button in the upper left corner of the iPad the iPad would freeze up. I could not get to the list of video's on the iPad because I could not get out of the show that was the most recent show I was watching.
To make it even weirder, iTunes can find the iPad so it must still be on and working (right?). But no matter what I try I can't get the screen to turn on.
I don't know if this matters, but I took the iPad with me out of the counrty for 5 weeks and I just returned and today is the first time I synched it in 5 weeks (it did sucessfully sync more than once today). It worked fine while I was gone, except I did have one time where the video would freeze the iPad like described above, but it went away after just turning the iPad off and on.
Any help would be great!

It may be possible to force the iPad into recovery mode. See <this article>.
If that does not work, I suspect your iPad has an internal problem that will require repair. If it is still in warranty, contact Apple. If out of warranty, search the web for iPad repair centers. There may be one in your city.
