IPad spam mail

Recently I have been receiving emails on my ipad from my @me email address. I am not sending these emails, they seem to be spam.
Today I received an email from Apple. stating I needed to update my password for security purposes. Im very concerned that there has been some type of hack or breach. I dont know. I am tired of seeing these emails.
What should I do? Should I delete this email and create a new one?
I would appreciate any help.

Isn't the password there?

  • How can I get spam mail sent straight to trash on my iPad and iPhone.  Have managed to set rules on my iMac but not the rest.

How can I set up rules to get spam emails sent straight to my trash when I am using an iPhone4S or iPad3?  Have managed to do this on my iMac but can't see a way to do it on the other devices.  Getting about 50 a day recently using my email address but not my name in the messages - no idea why this has started but it is annoying!!

You cannot set rules on the iPad or the iPhone for mail. The only thing that you can do is to filter spam mail in your webmail settings using a web browser. The rules that set up in the mail app on the Mac do not sync across devices, those are rules for inside the mail client itself on the Mac.

  • Every days spam mail on iPad or iPhone

Every day I receive tons of spam mail. With the function "its advertising or no ad " on my MacBookPro-e-mail account the spam is automatically sorted out over rules I am able to set. I am strongly waiting for such a function from APPLE for my new iPad 4g and iPhone 4s. Pls. start working on it!!

These are user-to-user forums, they are not monitored by Apple (there are too many forums/threads/messages for that to happen). If you want to leave feedback for Apple then you can do so here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
Does your email provider not have filters that you can set so that it is filtered on your email host ?

  • My ipad iCloud mail continually freezes ALL of my email when I get spam. How can I change that?

After the latest update, my ipad iCloud mail freezes when I get spam. It freezes all email. I have to go to PC, and erase the mail before I can use it again. So far I haven't found any settings on ipad or iCloud on the PC to limit what email I receive.
The spam messages cannot just be trashed from ipad.
There's got to be a way to stop the spam!
    Thanks, Kathyellen

How do you block spam mail on your ipad 2 and iphone 4s?

There are no Settings for that in the mail app. You have to set those filters on the server in your web mail accounts

How can I change the display of Inbox in my iPad's mail app- so that it takes up the whole screen, as opposed to just about one third; the other two thirds display the full text of the selected email?

You can't change the display in the Mail app, if you are holding the iPad in landscape orientation then the left-hand third will be for navigation, and the right-hand two-thirds will be an email. If you hold the iPad in portrait orientation then the navigation section becomes a drop-down section.

  • How do I set the "reply to" field in the iPad 2 Mail app?  I use an email forwarding service (not an actual email account) that I would like people to reply to.

How do I set the "reply to" field in the iPad 2 Mail app?  I use an email forwarding service (not an actual email account) that I would like people to reply to, so setting up an account with the correct reply-to address doesn't work because there's no associated outgoing mail server.  I had this working under iOS4 but it seems to have disappeared when I upgraded to iOS5.

Welcome to the forum, NicoleYM. I don't think the Touch Mail has as many options as the Mac Mail app. However, you could set a standard signature. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Signature. There you can type a reply address and hope people see it.
Alternatively, you can go to your GMail account in your web browser and click on Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP. There you will have an option to forward all emails (or only some, if you set up a filter) to your other address.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry's automatic delivery notification encourages spam mail.

To anyone who is listening, please either disable the Blackberry's automatic delivery notification, or give us Blackberry users the option to change it to manual delivery notification requiring our approval before delivery notification is sent.
Spammers harvest the email addresses and the automatic delivery notification tells them that they sent spam to a good/valid address.
My wife and I both noticed that since we started using the Blackberry, the number of spam mail has progressively increased.  Today, I discovered why.  I noticed in the sent mail log, that the Blackberry is sending out delivery notification automatically each time an email is opened/read.  A lot of times, I can't figure out if something is junk until I open up the email.  That's when the Blackberry sends delivery notification.  Sure, the spammers request delivery notification, that's how they can confirm whether their junk mail reached the intended party.  And thus, they harvested a valid email address that they use for the next spam mail.  The Blackberry makes it too easy for the spammer to validate a good delivery email address, and for mail that's being forwarded from a "disposable address" to my real address, now the spammers get to harvest my real email address when the Blackberry includes it in their delivery notification.
So please, please disable the automatic delivery notification.  Let me decide who I will send delivery notification.
    Thank you in advance!

On BIS, I don't think there is a way; on BES your BES Admin can do this.

  • Spam mails are not deleted from the spam folder

In the account settings, I have set the spam mail to be automatically deleted after one day. In spite of that, spam mail in the spam folder is not automatically deleted at any time, even if I restart Thunderbird. In the end, I always have to clean the spam folder manually.

    Thanks for your quick answers!
I realized that I didn't select the option 'enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account', but, even selecting it, the junk mails are not automatically cleaned. I tried restarting Thunderbird, restarting the computer, and even manually changing the date and restarting Thunderbird, but nothing worked.
I checked the entries in the advanced configuration, and they are all correct.
My aim, as it was with the other problem I posted, is just to help to improve the development of Thunderbird by pointing the bugs. But they are actually really minor issues and not a real problem for me. So don't worry if the problem is not finally solved.
    And thanks again!

  • HT4061 I am receiving return e-mails saying undeliverable mail was sent using my e-mail addy as the "from" addy. It is spam mail and some has been sent to U.S. military. It is not coming directly from my e-mail/ i-cloud account. How do I stop it?

I am receiving returne postmaster e-mails saying e-mails were not deliverable, and some say they were blocked as being spam mail because they were sent to U.S. military addresses. The e-mails are coming from an outside source and are not being sent directly from my e-mail, but whoever is doing it is putty my address in as the sender. How do I stop this?

at this point the best you could do would be to delete your email account, or ignore the emails

  • HT204053 I need to change my email account, i get alot of spam mail

I get a lot of spam mail,  what should I do?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have asked for your email address to be edited out. Posting your address in an open thread is a sure way to be bombarded by unwanted email, remember it will be here long after you have resolved your problem, for automated detection software to find.
If you want people to contact you, enable others to see your email address in your profile.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

  • How to tag spam mails in iron port and foreword to junk folder?

How to tag spam mails in iron port and foreword to junk folder?

    As Dave has suggested.
Positively identified spam recommended actions would be to Drop it -- if you would like to review these emails and manually remove it, then send it to the spam quarantine
This can be changed under the GUI > Mail Policies > Click on Incoming or Outgoing mail Policies and edit the anti-spam settings per policy if needed.
Ideally suspected spam to be sent to the quarantine for further review.
If you do not wish to use a quarantine or drop the email, you can prepend the email as Dave also suggested and send it to the end recipient under [Suspected Spam] <Subject> for the end user to determine it.
However the IronPort will not make specific rules to deliver it to the MUA's Junk mail folder.
This type of setup is normally down to each specific end user to work with on their own MUA  (outlook, lotus, safari etc.)
    I hope this helps.

    Matthew Huynh

Wondering how these mails exist in tcp_local queue wherein none of IPs (or users) allowed to relay through our servers.

    Thanks Shane.

    Hi,
You need to track down the source of the emails by
locating the relevant mail.log lines that correspond
to the email delivery attempt. This will at least
tell you how they are getting in (whether the email
    is coming in via the
    tcp_local/tcp_auth/tcp_submit/tcp_intranet channel
    etc.).07-Sep-2007 19:13:44.02 tcp_auth tcp_local EA 3 [email protected] rfc822;[email protected] [email protected] User ([210.70.82.129])

From there you can determine (if you have enough
    logging enabled such as LOG_USERNAME=1,
    LOG_CONNECTION=1, LOG_MESSAGE_ID=1) why they emails
are being allowed through... After enabling the three parameters (option.dat and did cnbuild/restart),
i noticed lot of such entries in mail.log_current:
