My Ipad was stolen. My computer crashed previously and had to reinstall Itunes and by doing this lost the info from my devices.
where els can I find the serial #.

If your iPad is 4g or it is in wifi and you have find my iphone installed on it then you can sign in on your computer and it will show the location of your iPad, it is very hard to find a iPad with the serial #. Good luck hope you find your iPad!

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

Daughters iPad stolen can't find serial number

Four days ago, she registered it in her apple ID number, but did not yet register it in iCloud. It is not seen by iCloud. Is there a way to pull the serial number from apple at all so we can register it? I cant even get through to Apple Support without the serial number!!

If the iPad was running iOS 7, the thief/finder will not ever be able to use it.

Need help retrieving serial number, please.

I made a thread about this last night but it must have been deleted for some reason?
So I got Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for christmas and had it installed on my student laptop. When I graduated this last spring I got a new laptop and didn't think anything of it. Last night I went to install Premiere on my new laptop and upon install it asked for my serial number. I did not write it down and I do not have my old laptop to retrieve it. I tired typing in the redemption code on the Adobe site but it just says that the code is invalid (obviously because it has already been redeemed). I also did not register this product so if I log in to Adobe and go to "My Products" it is not in there. Can someone please help me out here! I really need this program to work. There has got to be a way to retrieve this serial number. There has got to be a data base someone can look in? Please help!

So as long as I have this redemption code I should still be able to link it to my serial number. I just need to get in contact with Adobe themselves.
I am just speculating here, as John T. is, as well, but your experience, regarding the typing in of that Redemption Code, on the supplied Web site, seems to be a "one-time deal." That seems to be borne out by your experience.
Now, it might (speculation again, as I have never had an educational version of any Adobe product) be useful to have that Redemption Code, when talking to Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support), as they might be able to track backward, and use that to find your S/N. I would try Live Chat first, BUT keep the idea of a direct telephone call, as "Plan B."
Unfortunately, no one here works for Adobe - we are but mere users, and mostly users with a regular PrE license, and not an academic license. When it comes to academic license questions, I always go to John T. Smith, as he was in a university system, and has several academic licenses in his history. He's my "go-to guy" for any academic version questions, 'cause he's "been there - done that." However, and even with his vast knowledge, he is powerless to help you, beyond suggestions. Only Adobe can do that.
Please let us know if Adobe Customer Support (either Live Chat, or via telephone) was able to help you, as you will be educating us all.

PS - I will second John T's suggestion of making copies of everything, should there be a problem in the future. For instance, I have my S/N for every version of Photoshop one a label on the media (mine go back to diskettes), on the box (if I still have that) and one the front and also first page of the manual (they used to have nicely printed manuals, back several versions). I could give you my S/N for version 2.5, through CS 6, even though the S/N format changed three times over the decades. Make copies.

My classic 160gb -stolen, need to get serial number

The unthinkable has happened.
My car got broken into and serveral things got taking including my Classic 160gig Ipod.
I have morned and now need to prove I owned it. I do not have the box and the Ipod was run through my Macbook running 10.6.8.
There must be a way to get the serial number through Itunes or a file in the Macbook somewhere - But where?
I have looked online at other suggestions and found a file "com.Ipod.plist" but which number is it on this page as it isn't particularly user friendly
I have had a replacemnt Ipod when the old one had issues but that was about 18 months ago and also have an Iphone, when I look in Itunes-Devices, only the Iphone appears - no Ipod - ***?
Can anyone advise me how to track down the serial number so the insurance will payout, but please break it down into idiot proof steps.

You can find the Serial Number if you have done a backup in iTunes by going to iTunes on your computer, click on iTunes in the top menu bar, then Preferences>Devices, and hover over the device where it is listed in the backups. The Serial number will show in a box as you hover over the device name.
You can also go to My Support Profile, and if you registered your device there when you got it, you will see it listed there as well:

The Serial Number would also be on the original packaging that the device came in.

The easiest way to find your serial number is this Open Itunes...click help... run diagnostics.....(tick or untick as necessary) so that you just have ticked the last two, device connectivity and device sync. run these tests. it will say no ipod/ipad found but will give results of test....scroll down to bottom of results... here you will find the serial number of your last attached devices.

Purchased CS6 as stand-alone program, tried to retrieve serial number and was told I didn't need one. I DO NOT WANT Cloud!

I guess that's something new; I didn't realize Adobe changed to some kind of online serial number retrieval process - assuming that box is legitimate. First I've heard of online serial number retrieval.
I wish you the best of luck with returning an opened software box to BestBuy. I've run afoul of their restrictive return policies before and as a result I've stopped doing business with them. Make sure you take along screen prints showing the failures you experienced.
This gives you another opportunity to consider that at $9.99 a month for the Photographer's bundle you could have a LOT of months of Creative Cloud subscrioption for the price of that $700 software (almost 6 years by my count, and you don't have to pay it all up front). I don't know about you, but I have no idea whether computers/operating systems 6 years from now will even be able to run Photoshop CS6 software purchased this year. Just a thought.

What do you need the serial number for to unlock the iPad? If the iPad is locked because you forgot the Passcode, you have to restore the device.
What are you trying to unlock?
Your serial number is written on the back of the iPad and on the box that the iPad came in.
