IPhone 4S - Push: for what email providers ?!

I have an iPhone 4S - my question is about PUSH mail ...
Does iPhone support PUSH only with some email providers -  if yes, where can i find a list with these email providers ?!
The PUSH feature is provided by iPhone, or by the providers of email hosting ... to be more precise, iPhone can support PUSH as long as the email provider have this feature built-in ?!
Thank you.

Please, i want a full answer. I thank you for your support randers4 but its not really what i was hoping for ...
Is it or is it not an iPhone feature ?! Or is it a feature of the email providers / email hosting services ?!
For example if i choose to use as email hosting provider an unknown company, a company unknown as in "not on iPhone's for sure email providers with PUSH built-in" will i have PUSH for it ?! Who must provide this feature ?! Apple ?! And if so, it does for all the email providers, or only for a few best-known providers ?! And again, if so, where can i find a list !?
Do all IMAP accounts, no matter who will give you the hosting, support PUSH ?!

Sorry, there is nothing you can do until the device is removed from the sellers Apple ID.
Without that, your device can't be used, check these articles:

  • Email Push for an email account that is not mobile me

Hi There; I have an iphone 3GS where I use 4 different email accounts and calendars. I use 2 mobileme accounts, I use a gmail account and I use a private server account. I used to have a Blackberry Bold and never had any problem. Everythong works fine except for the private server account. Sometimes I get the email in my iPhone even a day later, sometimes I don't get them. But I always get them in my iMac. Can somebody guide me in how to fix that issue or if there's any push email software that really work for the iPhone...I'm getting emails way tooo late compare to the mobile me ones. By the way, I have it set the same way I have set in my computers, POP. Please help, I really don't want to go back to Blackberry, I like my iPhone sooo much!

Different from the Blackberry's email application, the iPhone's Mail application communicates direct with the incoming mail server for an email account - no different when accessing an email account with an email client on your computer.
RIM provides a dedicated email delivery service for the Blackberry which provides Push access regardless the account type.
With the iPhone's Mail application, the email account provider/email account must support Push access. The following email accounts support Push access for received messages.
    MobileMe.
A Yahoo account created with the Yahoo account preset, which creates the account as an IMAP account with Push access for received messages.
An Exchange account accessed via ActiveSync with the Exchange server for the account.
A POP account does not support Push access when accessed with an email client that communicates direct with the incoming mail server such as with an email client on your computer or with the iPhone's Mail application. The only reason Push access is available with a POP account with the Blackberry's email application is due to RIM's dedicated email delivery service for the Blackberry.
Although it is possible to access a POP account with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only. Do you leave the email client used on your computer for accessing the POP account launched and running actively checking the incoming mail serve for new messages while your iPhone is doing the same? If so, this is likely the cause of the problem. Different from an IMAP account, only one email client at a time can access the incoming mail server for a POP account. If two email clients are actively running checking the incoming mail server for new messages and downloading new messages received at the server with a POP account, the 2nd email client will be temporarily locked out by the incoming mail server for the account when another email client is doing the same.

  • Shut off push for MobileMe email while leaving exchange push on

I am wondering if this is possible? I have MobileMe which I set up on my iPhone 3GS to sync my calendars, but I get a lot of junk mail and would like to have the mail set to check manually.
However, I also have an MS Exchange account which I need to be set to push for work.
So is there a setting combination which will:
Manually check MobileMe email (while pushing calendar changes)
    Push Exchange email
I can't seem to figure this out!
    Thanks
    Gordon

Tanks peter - a good idea, though it will mean turning off push on the calendar too, which would be a bit annoying..

  • Issue having seperate data pushes for multiple email accounts

I've always had gmail set up through my phone. I love push and don't receive any issues using it.I recently added a 2nd, work email (exchange) to my phone. However, I'd prefer to manually check the exchange account while leaving my gmail on push. I can't seem to figure it out though. My best guess was to go:
    settings>mail>fetch new data>advanced.
I have my gmail on push and my exchange on manual. I would assume the advance settings override the push and fetch settings on the primary "fetch new data" screen. However, nothing seems to be working the way I want it to. Sometimes my phone will auto-update my exchange, sometimes i'll get gmail belated, etc.
If anyone could please advise the proper settings for both the primary screen as well as the advance settings in order to have my exchange on manual and gmail on push.
    Thanks

Note sure what G mail is, but if it involves another isp email provider not interested, I have multiple accounts as a garbage dump for spam possibilities too much spam on one account bye bye. Usually 2 main email accounts though. btw, not a memory issue either. still plenty left. Was looking at the contacts thread and there is receiving/sending issues with email since 2.0 update anyway.

  • When will iPhone be availble for customers of providers other than AT&T

Just curious to know if anyone has a clue, or guess, as to when Apple will release an iPhone that can legally be used with a service provider other than AT&T. That is if Apple ever will.

AT&T has 5 year contract. Only have 1 year off so far, so four more years. As far as US goes, only TMoble has the type of network needed to be used on anyhow.

Can you do setup an unread mail folder that shows all unread mail regardless of what folder it really is in on the iPhone mail program somehow?
    No.
If not, can this be submitted as an enhancement as it makes email use very cumbersome.
Yes. You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • IPhone 4 Push email interval

Is it possible to change the interval to less than 15 mins?

What do you mean by "different ways" to push email? The very principle of the email push is, instead of your email client (Mail on the iPhone, Thunderbird on your Mac or PC, etc...) periodically polling your accounts for new messages using the username and password you've entered when you created your accounts, the server itself tries to contact your mobile device, and once a correct handshake has been performed, your phone downloads whole messages, or just the headers, depending on how you've set up your accounts in your email client. If you don't want to make to big a dent on your data plan with your mobile phone operator, you can choose to interrogate your accounts manually, or every hour. In any case, Mail usually won't fetch whole messages; it'll often leave pictures behind, depending on the account: on my AOL account, some newsletters aren't fully downloaded, only the headers. On my Hotmail account, every single email will only be downloaded as a header. I'll then have to click on the "Download the rest of the message" link at the bottom of the page to get the full messsage. I guess the differences can be attributed to the server settings your accounts use, but this would have to be confirmed by other users.
I don't use MobileMe, but I'm an avid Gmail and Yahoo! user, and I haven't noticed any incoherence in the data total displayed in my iPhone Settings/General/Usage tab. Now, maybe the right choice of server settings in your email client will let the server know how, when and how regularly new email should be pushed to your email client on your mobile device. For Google's Gmail, you can use Google Sync parameters from here:
    http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
As for Yahoo!, they usually provide good info right here: http://mobile.yahoo.com/mail/iphone

  • Late push notifications and emails for alerts

Hi all, It happened to me several times already and am wondering what's going on. I open the app on my iPhone (or go to myfico.com on my computer for all that matters) and find out I have a new alert. A few hours later, my phone displays a push notification telling me I have a new alert. It's referring to the same alert I read about two hours ahead. Then, as if that was not late enough, I get an email the next day informing me about the very same alert! While most emails come within what seems like 6 hours, I've had at least three being one day late. This has obviously nothing to do with credit bureaus not reporting in time or any such thing. This is an internal issue of myfico.com where push notifications and emails are delayed even though the information is available online. With this being a *paid* identity monitoring service, I expect to know as soon as possible and having an email sent a day later is not "as soon as possible". Fraud waits for no one. On top of that - and this possibly being very well related - I get a hard inquiry on my report AUG 04. CreditSesame (a free service!) alerts me about 4 minutes later (wow!). CreditTracker by CapitalOne follows up with an email about two hours later. AUG 05 in the morning, about 6am, I find myfico.com having one notification from myfico from Experian. Followed later by an email at 10:36am (lucky case!): from: myFICO Member Services <[email protected]>to: <my email address goes here>
date: Wed, Aug 5, 2015 at 10:36 AMsubject: Alert - A new inquiry was added to your Experian credit report I think it was about 9am when I logged in again and found an Equifax alert sitting there. An email followed at 1:02pm. That's 4 hours late, assuming 9am as original alert time, which is when I found it accidentally. from: myFICO Member Services <[email protected]>to: <my email address goes here>
date: Wed, Aug 5, 2015 at 1:02 PMsubject: Alert - A new inquiry was added to your Equifax credit report It is now AUG 07 and I am yet to have an alert from TransUnion on myfico.com. Note that both creditsesame and capitalone use TransUnion. What gives? Thank you,Adrian

    Hi Amit,
According to your description, I understand that some mobile phone cannot get the push from Exchange server after add an Cisco Network switch in your environment, besides test ActiveSync failed with very long delay.
I want to double confirm some points, please help to collect the answer for following questions:
    1. What’s the function for Kemp load balance, hardware or network traffic optimization?
    2. Are you using Cisco network switch as network load balance functionality?
    3. How about the Outlook sync from the external?
Depend on the error message and your test, it’s related to Network issue instead of  Exchange.
Please try to use Microsoft Network Monitor to get more detail progress of the connection of sync, for more resource:

Sounds like you do have an Exchange account setup on your phone. Have a Gmail or Hotmail account? They can both be setup as Exchange accounts. Have a work email account?

  • IPhone 4 vs Blackberry push email--i.e. is the iPhone TRUE Push Email?

considering hopping on the iphone train, however need to know something about push email that NOONE can answer (not even apple consultants at the store)!
issue: have blackberry now due to need to get emails and messaging immediately as it arrives in gmail and yahoo account, regardless of whether phone is asleep or not. can the iphone do this?
i keep getting the answer of you can go into account settings, select push, but then everyone is thrown for a loop when it comes to the push/fetch settings, i.e. 15 min, 30 min, hourly, manually, etc. e.g. no one can answer whether after the email is "pushed" to the iphone at minute 15 (if that is my setting), and i then get an email in my gmail or yahoo account at minute 16, if that email is immediately pushed to the iphone or i have to wait 'til the next 15 minute interval (or fetch it manually).
also, will the iphone wake from sleep to alert me to an incoming email as long as push is selected--regardless of other settings?
please help!!! and thanks in advance!!!

Apart from the "true push" aspect of email, one feature that is sorely lacking on the iPhone, one that for me is quite literally going to be the deciding factor to return to the blackberry, is the notification feature of true push email provided on the Blackberry.
I'm an on the go business professional. I manage several businesses along side my "day job." While my day job is the most critical, it has two facets and these have two different email addresses from different domains.
In short my device be it blackberry or iphone, has 11 domains address sending "push" email in various forms, pop, imap, and exchange. Of these 11, between the hours of 9-6pm 3 of these domains are absolutely critical that I respond within 15 minutes.
On the blackberry, I'm able to set sound profiles that will allow me to differentiate emails using sound by domain. So each of the 11 has a different sound tone as its alert. Without looking at the phone I can determine quickly if the message that was just "pushed" is of the 3 critical domains and take the appropriate action. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't have this feature, not natively, thus all mail gets the same tone.
I get about 30-40 messages an hour, it quickly becomes clear that I'm now tethered to the device just to weed out mail that is important, but not critical.
So factor that mail is not "true push" in all instances and that there isn't an ability to set unique alerts for the different addresses/domains, a great device is rendered inferior and an inferior device is heralded.
The apps that are available to address this, all require forwarding the mail message to a 3rd party. Not happening—Corporate would never allow or condone such.

  • TS3899 My ipad does not communicate with iphone on one of my email accounts and will not remove deleted emails that are done on the iphone and vice versa, what setting should be changed?

My ipad does not communicate with my iphone on one of my email accounts and will not remove deleted emails that are done on the iphone and vice versa, what setting needs to be changed?

It's my understanding that an iPhone can only sync with one computer. You need to choose one computer. Sounds like it syncs at work, but not at home. If you want to just sync it at home, then you have to make sure the home computer has all the info that you want on it, like music etc. Then you have to deauthorize the work computer for it to sync at home. When you connect it will ask if you want to set up as a new iPhone or restore from backup. If you don't have a backup on the home computer then either way you will be wiped clean. So any photos, contacts, notes etc you have will be erased. You would need to backup or copy your photos from your iPhone. When you connect it to your home computer, it will give you that popup message to open your iPhone files. Then you can copy those photos and save them onto your computer and sync them back in through iTunes.
For your contacts, do you use any type of address book? If so you'll want to back that up and then transfer to your home computer. For notes, you can just email those to yourself and then save that email. I use MobileMe so the contacts issue is easily resolved.
