IPhone 5 Production/Shipping Delays

I ordred my IPhone 5's a few days after they were released and was told by AT&T in 2-3 weeks they would be available.
Order Status at AT&Tstill  shows "Pending"
For recent deliveries..how long are the orders taking and anyone know when the backlog may start catching up with orders?
Then there why there's a shipping/deliverry problem?????????

"No one here knows when the backlog may start catching up with orders. It is called supply and demand."
Sir...I respect your answer.
But unless you have visions of being a devine being...you cannot say "Nobody Knows".
I am asking for help when recently shipped orders were first sold to get an idea of how long it's taking.
As far as the witty "Supply & Demand"....that adds nothing to aiding me with an answer.
In fact, there have been several reports it's not just "supply & demand" purely.... but production delays from Chinese Job actions and possible screen shortages.
I am looking for help, not demeaning smarmy answers.
Again, I respect your input and enjoy reading it here.
But if you have nothing positive and factual to aide in my answer, I'd appreciate more positive information.

  • Two phones ordered, only one shipped. The iPhone 6 has shipped with tracking number and charge to my card. iPhone 6 Plus has no information available, no one at CS can tell me if this is normal, if it is delayed, any info appreciated.

I placed an upgrade order for two phones, an iPhone 6 and 6plus.
I was in the Verizon shopping cart at 11:55 and checked out by 12:01 AM pacific time.
I do have my email confirmation for both phones with ship date 9/19
The iPhone 6 has shipped with tracking number and the charge to my card came through for the price of this phone.
There is no other information available - nothing on the status of the 6 Plus. Customer service doesn't know if this is normal or if my order went through, its really bad.
Any further information would be much appreciated.

I was just told by a Verizon sales rep that, when her team got in, when she checked the system at 3:03 (midnight+ 3 minutes)  all 6Plus had a back order date of October, and now its going into November even though the pre-order system was showing 9/19 - that all verizon iphone 6 plus had an instant sell out.
She had no additional information on my iPhone 6 plus, not even if there was a chance for it to ship out, when the back order date would be - no further information.
(A different rep I talked to said all iphone 6 plus pre orders had a ship date of October, all of them - I asked what Verizon is going to do when they advertised iphone 6 plus for 9/19 delivery and your telling me they never had any available - at this point he transferred me... *****)

  • Shipping Delays at Apple

Has anyone else experienced shipping delays with the new 24-inch iMAC's? I ordered one three weeks ago through and Apple reseller, trading my PG G4 and MBP in, and still have not receivied the system. Apple advertises 3-5 day delivery and free shipping on their site and there are systems available at the local Apple Store and BestBuy but my reseller is telling me it may be the first week of October before my system ships.
    Just curious.
    DaKahuna

I was glad to see this post, since I've had the same questions. I placed an order for a 24" 2.8GHz 750GB iMac on August 21 through a local reseller, and the shipping date has now been bumped (get this) seven times. Each time at midnight at the end of the day it was supposed to ship, and just for another three days or so. After the second bump, the reseller's rep at Apple put an "expedite" on the order, because the reseller complained (rightly) that it was making them look bad - but the "expedite" hasn't prevented the system from getting bumped repeatedly since then.
Apple has offered no explanations, but the reseller called around, and discovered that as of a week ago, all 3 of the major Apple distributors (Ingram, etc.) had "thousands" of new iMacs on backorder, and that no product was moving. Around the end of last week, the 20" iMacs reportedly started being delivered, but there was still no movement on the 24" model. That's as of Monday morning; I'm going to check back with my reseller today to see what the status is.
There was no hard information about what was causing the delays, though as usual, various theories were propounded in the absence of actual data:
    - Demand was far higher than Apple predicted, and they are having to allocate supply as they get it across all their various channels to avoid ******* off anyone in particular beyond repair. (Though if it's accurate that there was "no movement" in the product at all, this wouldn't completely account for it.)
    - This has happened in the past when Apple has released a product and then discovered technical issues with it; Apple prefers to fix them beforehand even if it means holding up delivery) rather than selling a defective product. A little research on my part discovered that this did indeed happen in 2002 with an earlier generation of iMacs, when a firmware issue was found. The previous post about the iSight camera seems to bolster this theory, though the "no movement" report would seem to indicate it's either very widespread or they just inspected and/or replaced all of them just to be sure.
    - The imminent release of Leopard is causing some unforseen delay, though pick your theory about why this would be the case, or what it implies.
    - There are component shortages somewhere along the line; one possibility is the Airport Extreme subsystem, since there's a note on the Mac Pro configurator that says if you choose to include it, you'll delay your ship date. Although the iMac has Airport built-in, rather than on a card, maybe they share components, which are hard to come by?
I'm sure we could come up with other possibilities. But based on what my reseller was able to find out, it's apparently widespread - to the point where I've been surprised not to find some speculation, at least, if not hard information, on the various Apple rumor sites, like macdailynews.com etc.
The real bummer is that this'll be my very first Mac, after 25 years in the PC world (and having an unfulfilled **** after Macs since college, way back in the days of the Mac Plus). And to add insult to injury, Apple's online store still shows a ship date of "1-3 days" on this very custom configuration - mysteriously, since I haven't seen or heard anything that would imply they could actually deliver on that promise...

  • Why no information on shipping delays?

I ordered two iPhone 6's (64gb Space Gray) on 11/5 and was given a ship date of 11/21.  Late in the day on 11/21, I got an email saying that they hadn't received sufficient stock to fill my order.  My order was expected to ship 11/22.  That was the last email I received.  A call to customer service was not at all helpful - rep couldn't even see record of my order.  A visit to the store was equally informative - guy said not to worry, it would ship soon.  I can deal with shipping delays.  What I can not deal with is no information.  No communication.
Here I am on 11/26.  My credit card was charged for the order on 11/24, but still no tracking number or update of any kind.  What gives?

Oh no! i'm sorry about the lack of communication from us. As your order moves through the process, you can check the status at http://bit.ly/RjmCUB. You may not be able to see a change from Processing until it officially ships, then you'll see the tracking number. If you've received a confirmation email that your order was submitted, any additional information throughout the fulfillment process will be sent to that same email address.

When my iphone 6 plus ships, can I go into verizon and trade it in for the regular iphone 6?

Yes if they have it. You have a 14 day worry free period to do so. You can also call in for exchange but they'll charge you for it until it arrives back at their warehouse and charge falls off.

  • Reasons for 2-3 weeks shipping delay!

I was intrested in fiding out why the shipping in the USA was 2-3 weeks for the iPad 2, so I did abit research and emailed a few tech-sites for some confirmation.
Anyway MacRumours and ElectricPig got back in contact, the reason for the 2-3 week shipping delay is becuase USA was allocated so many units of the iPad 2 and these units were mostly for the retails stores Apple, Walmart, Best Buy etc etc, hence no online pre order until the 11th.
Intresting to know is that in a reply email I got, I was told that Apple did not want to make the mistake of repeating last years poor international delayed launch! Because there are rival tablets coming out very soon (PlayBook April) Apple do not want disgruntled customers going elsewhere.
Thus the reason for the 2-3 week delay is down to the international launch of the iPad 2

I got in early with my online order because I won't wait in line for hours at a store to get it. My order was placed at 3:50am and at 4:20am I got my confirmation email telling me it will ship in 3 to 5 days and that's fine with me. I would also be upset if I tried to order online and got the 2 to 4 week time and now today it's 3 to 5 weeks. That's a little long for me and I would probably just not buy one at the 3 to 5 weeks and see what comes along from other companies. For me its a toy and not an important piece of equipment.
With all that said retail is all about supply and demand. They got the demand and I guess you can only make so many but you would think they could have been a little more prepared for the first day sales. It's like they announced the thing and then decided to make them. I never understood why they made us wait to order online. They could have taken those orders and given you a ship date after the release date and had a pretty good idea how many they would need to fill that part. I guess that's why they're such a successful company, because they know what they're doing even though we don't understand their thinking.

  • Mac pro shipping delay

I've ordered a hex core 3.33 mac pro with radeon 5870 on October 20th and just got an e-mail saying that my order has been delayed - shipping in 3-5 business days. In worst case scenario (if it doesn't get delayed again) I'll be receiving my mac pro in 21 days since ordering! Has anyone recently ordered a mac pro and experienced such long shipping delays? Looking at the Apple Store and the 5870 status "Leaves Apple: Currently Unavailable" is the video card causing the delays? Or perhaps it's 10.6.5 or iLife 11?
I'm a bit disappointed - wait patiently or call Apple and ask what's going on? Any ideas...
    thx,
    adrian

This is something to take up with Apple Customer Service.
The ATI 5870 has so far NEVER been available as a separate upgrade option, and now the 5770s are not shipping, so perhaps there is a supply chain availability.

  • Unexpected shipping delay on MBP

I received an e mail saying my MBP shipping status has an unexpected shipping delay. Is this common? Also my order summary is listed as follows  Z0M1, MBP 15.4/CTO  ....Translated, What does this stand for?

It's not unusual. Apple's just letting you know it may not be there when orginally expected.

If i buy an iphone will apple ship it for me to Nairobi Kenya?

Buy it from where? To buy from the Online Store, you'd need to ship within the country that store serves. For example, if you buy from the U.S. Online Store, you can only have the device shipped to a U.S. address. If you go into a retail store, I highly doubt they will ship your purchae anywhere.

  • Buyer Beware - Horrible Production/ Shipping Time for Lenovo ThinkPad

I ordered my Lenovo ThinkPad T530 on January 27th, with the quoted estimated shipping time to be 02/08. I get an e-mail on 02/05 saying that my order would be delayed and shipped out within 30 days of this notification. This pushed my shipment date to 02/28 with expected arrival time for 03/04.
    Here's my timeline:
    01/27/13 - Placed order
02/05/13 - DELAYED NOTIFICATION, expected shipment to be delivered within "30 days of this notice"
02/08/13 - DELAYED NOTIFICATION, expected to be shipped on 02/28/13 arrival on 03/04/13
03/04/13 (12:50PM) - Checked my order status and it said that my shipment won't be shipped until 03/13/13 arrival on 03/20/13. Sent an e-mail to Lenovo. e-mail included.
03/04/13 (03:57PM) - DELAYED NOTIFICATION, expected to be shipped on 03/13/13 arrival on 03/20/13
    03/04/13 (04:23PM) - Received e-mail from Lenovo representative Shadiqulla *** - e-mail included.
So my order has been delayed THREE TIMES. When was my laptop suppose to be shipped? 02/04/13
As of 03/04/13, they told me my order has been DELAYED AGAIN. So forgive me if I don't take your generic copy and paste apology as a sign that you guys are actually doing something that actually helps the people who buy your product.
I would love a refund, but at this point, what can I say, I'm an optimist, and I'm pretty *** patient, so I'll wait until the 13th, but I just wanted to warn the rest of you.
This is ridiculous and highly inconvenient. I've waited over 36 DAYS for this product and it's still not even in production. You obviously don't care for your customers. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company and I hope everyone else is more cautious about purchasing anything from them. Because if this is the example of their customer service now, imagine what it's like when you have the computer down the line.
I'm forwarding my experience to the BBB and I'll keep things updated.

    E-mail to Lenovo:
    To whom it may concern,
I ordered my laptop on 01/27 and not only has it been delayed TWICE, but I wasn't even notified when the THIRD delay occurred. If you truly "value" your customers, then you wouldn't continue to test their patience by giving a horrible estimate time of the shipment date, when you're short on parts. That way, I would have time to secure a different laptop from a different manufacturer. I had high hopes for Lenovo through personal recommendations, but no matter how good the product, the *** customer service can only go so far. Your company makes me feel like a dog.
The order tracker provides practically provides ZERO tracking, because during the past month, nothing has been placed or updated except for how my laptop is continually delayed. This is ridiculous!
For the sake of keeping my anger in check:
What is the ACTUAL status of my order? Has it even been BUILT? It was suppose to arrive 2/4, then delayed shipping to 2/28 with 3/04 arrival, now delayed again to 3/13 arrival on 03/20.
Give actual updates, what's the point of having an order status page - have something actually useful and reliable.
Change the estimated shipping time for the other ThinkPads on your site. My same model and custom built is suppose to be shipped at the same time that someone else places an order for today - that's just ridiculous!
I've been extremely patient when you said it would arrive a month after the quoted shipping time. Thank-you for providing me with the *** experience I've ever had with a company. I was suppose to have it shipped by 03/05 at the latest, and you just tried to sneak the last delay past me. Actually deliver on your word and deliver your product! This is beyond ludicrous I'm suppose to have my laptop already!
    Sincerely,

I ordered my ultrabook  from Levono because we use (hundreds) of them in our organization and I wanted one for home to also do work related business on. When I ordered it, I was told by the salesperson that I would recieve it soon because I live a few miles from the US headquarters and not far from the NC warehouse. I then got an Email that contradicted what I was told;  my machine would be delivered 6 weeks later; shipped from China.  I ordered this unit because I am aware of Levono's reputation for quality and impressed by how soon they became big player in the USA laptop market.  Ir Levono wants to stay competative; they absolutely have to deliver, and deliver sooner. In today's world, people and businesses depend on laptops, and when they need them, need them right away. I would be happy to get this sooner, and much more likely to advertise Levono, and buy from them again, if I did.

  • 128gb iPhone 6 plus shipping

Like many, I ordered an iPhone 6 plus 128gb on verizon's site just after pre-orders opened (8 mins past) and got a Sep 19 delivery date on the confirmation page and on my email confirmation. But the VZW order tracking page now tells me it's shipping on October 14th. I was one of those who was caught up in the fraud flagging mess-up - and couldn't get through to the fraud team to clear the order until around 930 CST. I absolutely need my phone delivered by Sep 24th due to travel so am really concerned. Hoping VZW's fraud team didn't delay my order... has anyone had firm confirmation that a 128gb iPhone 6 plus is due for delivery on the 19th yet?

Unfortunately, no.  I ordered within the first hour for a iPhone 6 plus, 128 GB version.  I received three different communications (Order Summary, Order Confirmation and a followup Order Confirmation email) all which said a 9/19 delivery.  The verizonwireless.com website showed a 10/14 ship date the following day.  This morning it now says,
We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: Not available at this time.  So it is getting worse, not better.
