Iphone 5 shows 7GB used in the "Other" section
When I have my Iphone5 connected to my PC for Syncing purposes, the yellow part of the bar (Other) shows 7.09GB of space used. I can't imagine what this includes. It prevents me from putting much music on the phone. I have very few photos,no podcasts,movies,tv shows,books and a minimum of apps. This figure sounds incorrect to me. Is there a way to check this or correct it?

When you uninstalled iTunes, did you uninstall it by using the article below or just uninstalled iTunes? The best practice is to remove not only iTunes, but also other associating software in the order that the first article give. If that does not work, then check out the second article for more troubleshooting options for connecting your iPhone to your computer.

Today (6/1) the "My Usage" shows .7GB used (about 1/4 of my 3GB shaded in the bar-graph), and the solid-green in the bar graph representing only 1 day in the billing cycle. I'm trying to make sense of it. My may statement shows 1.7GB - I think that's the period just ended.... and I can't imagine I've used 1/4 of my data already today before noon? I'm guessing the 'My Usage" screens are not quite coordinated with the billing cycle - anyone else have ideas?

The "other" is normally <1 GB, and includes the iOS, app data, messages and email. If it expands, this usually means ther is either corrupted data or metadat (file system errors) in the phone.
To fix, Restore the phone, first using a backup and if needed as new (without using a backup)

I have a problem with connecting my iPhone to iTunes. I uninstalled one of the computer program and restart my laptop. After restart my laptop and a message said that iTunes might not working because one of the component is missing and request to reinstall the iTunes. Hence I remove iTunes from my laptop and I reinstall iTunes to my laptop but still not working.
Before this the iTunes will automatically launch when I plug in my iPhone. But after I reinstall iTunes, it's not working. When I try to plug in my iPhone after iTunes launched and message "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." popped out. I did this twice but it's not working as well.
Please advise what should I do to fix this.First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -

All of your 'stuff' that is not Music Movies Apps Backups or Photos is in Other, that means all your emails, all your files etc, why don't you just leave well enough alone, this is not windows and doesn't need tinkering with, -
The "Other" section is using up 3.89 GB of space.
I have just recieved my iPod Touch 5G, and I have only synced my music library. At the bottom of the itunes page it has my devices storage. Audio, Other, and Free Space. The "Other" section is taking up 3.89 GB of room. Is that how much it is suppose to take up, or do I need to clear something?

An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.

What is in the "other" section of the capacity on my iPhone 4?
Today when I plugged my phone into my Mac, the capacity shot up from 9GB to having 14 GB filled. It is the "other" section that is suddently filled up. It has 4.7GB in that section and I wanna cut it down.

Using FaceTime between 2 iPhone 4s I can hear the other person but we only see ourselves, how do we see the other person
Once the connection is made you should automatically see the other person full screen, with a small inset picture of yourself. Normally you only see yourself full screen after you initiate the call prior to the other person accepting it. Are you both connected to wi-fi and are you initiating the call by tapping the FaceTime button on the other person's contact?

Hi ghost ninja: The "other" section on your iPod Touch is most likely your operating system. Probably not a good idea to get rid of it.

If it is much more than a gb or so, then it indicates corrupt files. A restore should resolve. -

This usually means that a required component is missing. Start with completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below. Once this is done, download and install iTunes.
