Iphone 5 synch Issue

I followed the directions on how to activate wifi (airport) sync with my iphone, but it wont activate
I have the Wifi on the Iphone turned on, and plugged into my mac, I hit the sync option and it syncs, but when I just take it
off the plug to try it wirelessly it won't sync (sync button is grayed).
Did I miss a step, or are there some settings I might need to look at?

Here are the wifi sync requirements (from the iPhone iOS 6 Manual). My guess is you didn't plug your iPhone in when trying to sync:
iTunes Wi-Fi Sync You can sync iPhone with iTunes on a computer that’s connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Enable iTunes Wi-Fi Sync: To set up Wi-Fi syncing for the first time, connect iPhone to the
computer that you want to sync with. For instructions see Syncing with iTunes on page 16.
After you configure Wi-Fi Sync, iPhone automatically syncs with iTunes once a day, when:
iPhone is connected to a power source,
iPhone and your computer are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and
iTunes on your computer is running.

IPhone synch issue?

I've gotten this error a few times in the few days I've had my iPhone. It is a refurb 8gb, and it is up to date on the software updates.
This morning I got this when trying to synch a few episodes of Jericho which I purchased via iTunes, and which synch to my video iPod without an issue. I know it isn't full, I've got over 5gb free
Any thoughts?
Error: Attempting to connect to disk "my iPhone" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69).

IPhone synching issue: not enough access privaleges for this operation.

When trying to sync my iphone (after restoring) i get an error message: You do not have enough access privaleges for this operation. My computer recently crashed so i had to restore all my music from a hard drive and reinstall itunes. No issues with the library on my computer, however now it will not sync to my phone. This is the only computer I use and it is the only apple device I use (for itunes that is). Please help! Not sure what to do.

Just thought I'd put out an update on my problem. It has been solved. I spoke to a tech at Apple at 1-800-275-2279. She had me try a few things that didn't help. Her last suggestion was to uninstall QuickTime and iTunes then reload. She sent me the uninstall instructions at http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93698 which I followed. When speaking to her I told her I was afraid to do this because I saw other people on the discussion board who tried this and lost all of their music. She assured me that that wouldn't happen. I did the uninstall then the install. (Just a note here, I also read on the message board that someone said that to cure this problem you should do the install then open up QuickTime before opening iTunes. I did this also but don't really know if it made a difference.
Bottom line is I uninstalled QuickTime and itunes per the instructions at the site shown above. I then installed both again from www.apple.com/itunes/download. After the download I ran the install and unchecked the box to let itunes start after the install. I then opened Quicktime then closed it. I then opened iTunes and all of my music was there and I didn't get the anoying "iTunes is not set as the default player" and the error after trying to set it. The problem described in my first posting of copying CD's is also gone. So beleive it or not, EVERYTHING is working just like it should. Some of the above steps might not be required but I would follow them step by step because I know they worked for me.

IPhone Synching Issue

This is probably easy for many of you.
I use my iPhone 4S as my primary music iPod Source (gym, etc)
I create a playlist called "Steve's iTunes" and I check "Only Sync with Selected playlists"
It synchs fine. All the playlist songs appear.
BUT...I have extra songs...Perhaps I once bought these from the store?? I want to simply only synch wth my 1 playlist and do NOT want other songs to appear... How can I accomplish this?? Thanks! please help..

it isnt checked... And in fact, my iPhone still shows 8gb of free space... I think these were songs I bought from the phone itself...iTunes store app..

Laptop vs iphone synch issues

I havent used my itunes on (laptop) for ages, everything purchased, downloaded via phone, however I now want to move my music library onto the phone from my laptop... but itune settings say by synching from my laptop it will replace all the tunes on the phone with my laptop library ...gulp
I have tried the Transfer to itunes,,, but it only copied apps across ..
While there are many duplicates, do I really have to re purchase tunes on my laptop before allowing the laptop to wipe the phone's library?

At our company we are having this same mystery problem since the 3.0 firmware update. The problem isn’t consistent, about half of the users have the problem and half don’t. We have 3G and 3GS phone all using 3.0 or 3.0.1 firmware with Exchange 2003 SP2 Outlook 2007 SP2. The only thing that appears to work for us right now is when creating an event or appointment is to add yourself as an attendee. When you add yourself as an attendee to your own event or meeting the event will appear on both the outlook calendar and the iphone. I can also confirm that if you accept a meeting request on the phone it does populate both the outlook calendar and the iphone. So the only problem we are left with is when items are created directly into Outlook or meetings are accepted in outlook and not on the iphone the iphone calendar is not populated with the event. This is mostly a problem for users with assistants who add events directly to calendars and who accept meeting request on behalf of others. As with most others the calendar sync has only recently became a problem since 3.0 firmware.

Import music to iphone / synch issue

Hello,
I am a starter with Iphone and I am really lost when it comes to importing music. Even my colleagues, experienced iphone users, can't help...
So, I follow the steps to import music from my mac to my iphone.
It requires to synchronize, adds that my iphone is already synchronized to another library, that it will delete all the current content to connect to myu library.
How can I
-disconnect from current library? (??? I never connected to any library before...)
-not lose data and apps currently on iphone

I will give more details, maybe it makes my request clearer:
-i never synchronized my phone before… I plugged it to my Mac, dowsnloaded whatever itunes said, that's it... so to which rig is it synchronized now? (I am only using my iphone from this Mac, and my library is absolutely empty)
-if I synchronize it, will I loose all the apps, messages, etc.? (I have a back up already but I'd rather avoid having to reinstall)
I hope it's clear... I am totally lost in mac's particularities!

Synching Issues with iphone 4/ itunes

When attempting to synch my iphone with itunes, the synch cannot progress past the "backing up" stage. Why?? Getting a bit frustrated now to be honest.
Every time I plug my phone into the computer, itunes informs me of the latest update required (4.3.5), but because of the synching issue, I obviously can't get the new update.

The above is the error message I receive when trying to upgrade/ synch my iPhone with iTunes on my Laptop. I have the latest version of iTunes available (10.4.1)

MS Outlook 2003 and Iphone 2G calendar synching issues

hi,
I have just recently (after a very long IPhone download) am having synch issues. Some of my appointments are on the Iphone but not seen on Outlook. I read something about a com add in but when I tried to check this and add, my outlook didn't have this option. I am very aggravated!!!! I am in sales and have many appts during the day and now I am afraid I am going to forget one if i don't check both phone and outlook.. Please help!!!!

This is causing alot of problems no idea what percentage of windows users sync'ing with Outlook this is effecting but a lot of unhappy campers out there.

Apple although acknowledged the problem, now 2 weeks ago seem in no hurry to correct it, something to do with trying to sell MobileMe a cynic may say? Problem has mean't alot of businesses returning iphones, exchanging for Blackberries or just trying to revert back to their smartphones or ppc's.
This added to the problems of bluetooth handsfree kits not working with voicemail and 3G problems I suspect Apple are wishing they never released Firmware 2.0 and iTunes 7.7.
We are all hoping for a swift patch for this critical problem but then again we were doing that 2 weeks ago too... until then at least my XDA Orbit still works.
Repeating the appointment once so it is a reoccuring one day appointment has proved to work in the meantime - major pain though. I am testing Dionhall's fix at the moment, it sounds as if it is fixing the problem for most users. (See link above)

You should be able to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync them to the iPhone (or you could re-download them directly on the iPhone)

ITunes/ipad/iPhone synching problems

I have an ipad and iPhone synched to iTunes via the same apple ID. Ive recently deleted a number of tracks in itunes, the ipad syncs correctly and updates the deleted items but the deleted tracks are not being removed from the iPhone? The ipad matches iTunes but the iPhone now does not. How can I get the iPhone to sync correctly and update the deleted tracks?

Wanted to follow up on this as the problem has now been solved (thanks to Apple's excellent support). I had purchased the extended care package when I upgraded my Mac (based on prior experience I knew it would be money well spent). That allowed me to call Apple support and ask them for their help. After removing a set of cache files located in my iPhoto application I'm not able to sync both my iPad and my iPhone. Issue resolved.

Synch issue with icloud

Hello,
I have upgraded to iOS5 last week (iphone4).
I have activated iCloud and chose to synch everything except mails and notes.
When I go to iCloud.com from my computer, I have :
- only 4 contacts in "contacts" while I have 300+ in my iphone
- nothing in calendar, while I have a lot in my iphone
- no "photostream" link, so I don't know how to see my pictures in iCloud.com
I have connected my iPhone to personnal wi-fi and to power during many days.
How can I solve this synch issue ?

If you mean that a new reminder entered on one device doesn't show up on other devices then check that
1) The other devices are logged into the same icloud account and have reminders turned on (settings>icloud), and
2) that the remider is in the "icloud" group, and not in the "on my ipod" or whatever group.

That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

The iPhone iOS 4 User Guide sees to indicate that the SYNCH function is all one way from computer to iPhone, unless it is for purchased items in iStore on the iPhone.

thanks for the "TouchCopy" software link. I have downloaded a demo copy and it will resolve my transfer of music from iPhone to the new computer. I can then delete any unwanted music on the new computer, then re-synch the updated music to iPhone.
I am not sure about the photos. On my iPhone, there are two photo "albums" - one called "camera roll" and the other called "photo library." TouchCopy finds the pictures in the "camera roll" DCIM folder, and I can copy them to the new computer etc.
However, TouchCopy does not seem to find the "Photo Library" folder. Any clues?

Audio synch issues in QT

My project displays fine in PE8. No audio synch issues in the preview. After outputting the project to a quicktime movie withe LAN setting the audio becomes seems to run faster than the video, becoming more and more out of synch as the movie plays. Any ideas what might cause such an issue?

The Stream info in MPEG streamclip for files from both cameras gives me this info:
Bitrate: 30.31 Mpbs
Video Tracks:
DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720x480, 16:9, 29.9699999999999 fps, 28.77 Mbps
Audio Tracks:
16-Bit Little Endian mono, 48 khz, 768 kbps

It sounds like you are not able to join your Wi-Fi network with the correct password on 1 out of many devices. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If that troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, I would next try these steps from further down the article:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings.
