IPhone, Activesync, and OWA SSL Redirection
I've been banging my head against "Push Mail" since the 2.0 software was released last week. I tried all the answers here, I had Exchange 2003 SP2, my virtual directory was properly configured, OMA working fine, certificate installed on the iPhone, all to no avail.
I finally figured out the problem with my setup, and despite normally being to lazy to post, I figured I would in case anybody else was having the same problem.
If your OWA is configured like mine was, I had 2 sites configured on our mail server using host headers; one for SSL only, and one to redirect regular http requests to the SSL site. The iPhone did not work with this setup.
To get it going, I deleted the secondary "HTTP only" site, and re-configured SSL redirection by allowing non SSL requests to the root of the SSL site, with a default.asp page forcing client-side redirection instead:
<% Response.Redirect "https://your.mail.server/exchange" %>
It now works flawlessly.
This was really irritating to track down, especially with the complete lack of errors on either the phone or the server, but I'm glad it's over. If it helps even one other person out there then it was worth posting about.

Hi,
Based on my research, you can disable SSL 2.0 and force SSL 3.0 in IIS. For more detailed information, please refer to the link below:
SSL v3 on Windows 2008
How to disable SSL 2.0 and force SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 in IIS
In addition, it seems that Nokia E5 use
NetFront Browser v3.5 and NetFront Browser v3.5 supports SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0. I am not sure of that, you’d better contact your phone vendor for further assistance.
Best regards,

Hi,
As of what i have found from different blogs is that all the activesync devices including IPhone , IPAD and Android based phones cannot access online archive/Personal archive in exchange 2010.
Is there any third party app in the market for the above devices which can support access of Online archive?
Thanks in AdavanceThere must be a way! Since you can view the online archive through webmail with supported browsers on PC(IE, Firefox, Safari OSx) (so activeX is no must).
All it takes is a browser that can set a different 'agent' and that can interact with the webmail(OWA) website just like Safari on OSx.
I tried different browsers on the iPad, they all display the Online archive, but the navigation is broken. (scrolling by sliding your fingers does not work correct) The result is that you can not open(read) any mail in your online archive.
The browsers we tested and show the online archive but where the navigation doesn't work are:
On iPad:
- Kissmyagent
- Atomnic(the free AND payd version)
On android:
app: 'OWA for Android' (does not show the online Archive)
Maybe someone can come up with a browser and/or app that can show the online archive! -
I have iPhone 4 and am using ActiveSync for contacts/calendar. Problem I'm having is that when I sync in iTunes, only the contacts that I manually enter are being backed up. I'm concerned about losing my Outlook contacts as well.
If you're using ActiveSync, the contacts are not local to the phone. They are cached, on the phone, but they exist primarily on the Exchange Server that it's tied to. They do not back up like local contacts do. The same goes for the calendar.

Exchange 2013 CU2 to CU3 OWA now redirects to IIS page
so i did the the update from Exchange 2013 CU2 to CU3 last night and i am unable to access OWA. when i go to the site i initially received a 403 forbidden error but i cleared out the require SSL, which somehow got re-enabled, and now it redirects to the
IIS 8 page.
In IIS it seems like the redirect values for default web site got cleared away. I put in the address that was previously there and then e-mail for the whole company goes down after an IIS reset. In the default web site i entered to redirect to https://mail.contoso.com/owa
like how it was before but that doesn't work.
any ideas/feedback would be great!
Thanks!I guess you are running a multirole server.
Did you try removing the OWA virtual directories - for both Default Website and Exchange Back End site with:
#Replace ServerName
Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory "ServerName\owa (Default Web Site)"
Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory "ServerName\owa (exchange back end)"
and re-creating them again with:
#Replace ServerName & mail.domain.com
New-OwaVirtualDirectory -InternalUrl "https://ServerName/owa" -ExternalUrl "https://mail. domain.com/owa"
New-OwaVirtualDirectory -InternalUrl "https://ServerName/owa" -ExternalUrl "https://mail. domain.com/owa" -WebSiteName "Exchange Back End" -
ITunes losing all music and won't redirect to correct folder
Hi there,
This morning, iTunes has lost all my music. The whole library has the little exclamation mark. Using the 'Find info' comand, I can see that iTunes is looking for them in the music folder of my internal drive. However, they've always been kept on an external drive, and when I redirect iTunes to an individual track in it's correct location, and it asks me if I'd like to use the location to find the other missing files, it fails to correct the location of the rest. I am getting this message: “iTunes was able to find 1 of 18083 missing files.” Rather frustrating...
I'm using iTunes 10, on OS 10.7.3
I have the correct iTunes media folder indicated in the advanced preferences tab.
In case it's relevant, I'm also syncing with a new iPhone 4s, which I've only had for about 3 weeks, though in terms of audio, I only sync recently added albums + podcasts.
And an additional odd behaviour that I noticed this morning was that in my iTunes Media folder, outside of the Music folder, several artist folders had appeared, each containing an album folder and one or several songs from that album, the rest of which were all in their normal locations inside the Music folder, minus the tracks in the newly-appeared folders. All very odd.
Thanks for any help,
EmmaI have finally solved this issue. Here is the solution:
1. Open iTunes
2. Select Music
3. In the upper right hand corner select Albums.
4. Under "All Albums" highlight the first album, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, hold down the shift key and select the last album.
5. All albums should now be selected.
6. Place the cursor over one of the albums. Press with 2 fingers on the trackpad to bring up the menu.
7. Select "Check All"
8. Congratulations - no more grayed out songs and they will sync now.
9. Go into your iPhone sync and check the songs you want to transfer and click the sync button.
I hope this helps you to resolve your issue.

Cannot send email on LTE with IPhone 6 and IOS 8.1
Since I got my iPhone 6+ and upgraded the operating system to IOS 8.2, I have been unable to send email unless I am on WIFI. If I am on AT&T LTE 4G, when I hit the "SEND" button, I get this pop-up box: "Unable to Send Email / A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The sender address (my email address) was rejected by the server."
As soon as I get to a WIFI connection, the mail goes right out, no problem. I have tried everything I can figure out, up to resetting my network settings, but nothing changes. The email address I use as my recipient address is the same one I use all the time and have used for years. Never had this problem before getting the new iPhone and upgrading the OS. (But not sure exactly at what point the LTE sending stopped working.) Any clues?I would check with your email provider. It sounds as if the SMTP server needs a different port to use or needs to have SSL turned on. Many email providers will not allow you to send mail when not on their physical network unless there is a way to verify who you are. SSL does that, but needs additional information, like your username or password. Go into the mail account and look at the settings for your SMTP server. See if SSL is on or off, and make sure that you have entered your username and password in all locations, even where it says optional.

i have an Iphone 4S and the text i send to a friend with a galaxy 4s he is not receiving. Any help?
Then it's sending as SMS and not iMessage (that's good) so deleting the contact probably didn't help. It also seems iMessage isn't redirecting his texts as he's not used and apple device on the account previously. Can he receive a picture message from you instead? Does he receive texts from other apple devices? (iPhones,pods/pads) try sending a text through Verizon online using your account on a web browser. If it is also blocked then it confirms the issue is with his device, well at least points you there rather than guessing if it's yours or his or both. There's some ideas, let me know- Joe

Cisco ASA 5505 and comodo SSL certificate
Hey All,
I am having an issue with setting up the SSL certificate piece of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN. I purchased the certificate and installed it via the ASDM under Configuration > Remote Access VPN > Certificate Management > Identity Certificates. I also placed the CA 2 piece under the CA Certificates. I have http redirect to https and under my browser it is green.
Once the AnyConnect client installs and automatically connects i get no errors or anything. The minute I disconnect and try to reconnect again, I get the "Untrusted VPN Server Certificate!" which isn't true because the connection information is https://vpn.mydomain.com and the SSL Cert is setup as vpn.mydomain.com.
On that note it lists the IP address instead of the vpn.mydomain.com as the untrusted piece of this. Now obviously I don't have the IP address as part of the SSL cert, just the web address. On the web side I have an A record setup to go from vpn.mydomain.com to the IP address of the Cisco ASA.
What am I missing here? I can post config if anyone needs it.
(My Version of ASA Software is 9.0 (2) and ASDM Version 7.1 (2))It's AnyConnect version 3.0. I don't know about the EKU piece. I didn't know that was required. I will attach my config.

I am using win vista and have installed itunes for my ipod shuffle four years back. now I have purchased iphone 4, and trying to reinstall itunes after uninstalling my earlier itunes i always get a message that error in installation. kindly help
You might find this article helpful: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
It has the error range of 3000's which states
Errors 3000-3999 (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an old version of iTunes is installed, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see error 1004 above), or because of your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes. -
Hi,
I'm completely new to OHS and have been asked to ensure that a URL that goes to OHS should only be accessible on HTTPS, if accessed by HTTP it should go to the equivalent of IISs
HTTP Error 403.4 - Forbidden: SSL is required to view this resource.
As OHS is the frontend to our SOA installation we have specific files under /moduleconf/ for the virtualhosts, an example of one is below.
Can anyone give me any clues/best practice to only allow this VirtualHost to be allowed on HTTPS/SSL and to not redirect non SSL to SSL but to an error page like the equivalent mentioned above.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

IPHONE 3G and Road Runner accounts
Hello all,
Finally got my IPHONE 3G and everything is wonderful except for the Roadrunner email setup..
Like the last IPHONE I followed all of the instructions but still no happy. Noticed that in the basic setup it adds the CWMX.COM to the outgoing SMTP configuration but that’s not the real issue at this point. The problem is that IPHONE acts like its pulling or fetching the mail but nothing shows up. I have tried several combinations but I do not take an error it just does not get the mail.
Any ideas would be great.. Thanksaa2452 wrote:
I spent a lot of time trying different combinations of settings, and finally found something that works. Try this:
1. Create new outgoing mail server for the rr email account: smtp-server.hawaii.rr.com (substute your location for hawaii)
2. Within the settings for smtp-server.hawaii.rr.com:
a. turn off the SSL
b. username needs to have the @hawaii.rr.com (the outgoing smtp it needs to have the "@hawaii.rr.com", but not on the incoming POP area. I don't know why, but I tried it and it works!)
c. enter password
Please let me know if this worked for you. Good luck!
My experience has been that you can only send via smtp-server.blah.rr.com if you are connected into the RoadRunner network (e.g., at home connected via your own wi-fi). Sending on EDGE or 3G is not likely to work unless you use CWMX.com or AuthSTMP, some smtp which is not part of the RoadRunner network.
Not unique with the iPhone. True for laptops when traveling, too.

SSL redirect not working?
Hi,
have anyone been able to get SSL redirect working in ical and address book server?
In Apple documentation it says "redirecting ssl access redirects request for the http port and sends them to the https port". But it does not seems to work. Connecting to https port is working.
Bernt
Message was edited by: kenguruRegarding the redirect, I don't really understand why it's not possible. You can edit the non-SSL website in Web and add a 301 for /Wiki to redirect to https://myserver.com/wiki. In fact you can redirect the entire site to SSL - but that is problematic. I can understand why Mavericks server would be designed to automatically use SSL for wiki logins, if it's available. I only looked at redirects because this was not working. Without a redirect or with a redirect - I can login to Wiki via non-SSL or SSL. Where (specifically in which text file) are these redirects created using Server Admin written to? I can't find them in apache2/httpd.conf. Thanks again for your help.

IOS 6.1, ActiveSync, and the Ziff Davis article.
Since Microsoft has acknowledged the problem with ActiveSync and iOS 6.1, will anyone at Apple respond with what the plans are for a fix to this issue?
http://www.zdnet.com/ios-6-1-banned-from-corporate-servers-due-to-exchange-snafu -7000011064/MacRumors is reporting that Vodafone UK today began sending out text messages to iPhone 4S owners on its network, warning them not to upgrade to iOS 6.1 due to issues with 3G performance. The text reads “If you’ve not already downloaded iOS 6.1 for your iPhone 4s, please hold off for the next version while Apple fixes 3G performance issues. Thanks”

Flash not visible on iPhone - Possible to write a redirect script?
Hello all, can anyone suggest some good browser redirect techniques for iPhone users [and others] who don't have Flash?
I have a website which temporarily has a home page which is all-Flash I know that is frowned upon and we are developing a friendlier solution. Any suggestions are much appreciated.Perhaps something like:
http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/
I'd say to just look for iPhone in the user agent http header, but it's always possible that one day that would be incorrect. -
Why do I get a different movie price for the same movie on my iPad and iPhone. And 1 device says I can rent it but the other doesn't ,.?
Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
and here:
http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
