[iPhone] Grouped Table View using SQLITE?

I am filling my table views from a SQLITE table. I am trying to get it to display in grouped mode, but I am unsure on how to handle this using SQLITE. I can get the grouped mode to work, but I can't get it to show any headers, it is just one large block with all the returned results.
Anyone been able to get this to work or might have some advice?

Beers is correct. This is easy to accomplish though, if you have your recordset fed into an array on SELECT.

Data are not transfered to a table view using signal out

Hi all,
we have recently upgraded to SP16 and I'm now facing a problem on my model that worked fine when we were on SP15.
I have a data service returning data to my model. The data are transfered to a signal out element and then displayed into a table view using a signal in element. Now the table view remains empty.
I have checked that the dataservice returns data because if I directly connect my table view with the dataservice the data are displayed. But my requirement is to use signal in/out elements.
This error was not appearing in SP15.
Any ideas?

After doing some tests I found out that if you have a model that has more than 2 signals in/out then the 3rd one will not work. This is definitely a bug.
Hope that soon there will be a SP without any new bugs!

How to get metadata option list values derived from a table/view using SOAP

I am writing an ASP.NET application that replicates some of the features of the SCS search interface. I have looked at the GET_DOC_METADATA_INFO service and its SOAP output. It has a few missing pieces of information, like the option list values for a field if that fields values are derived from a separate table/view. Some of the fields I am dealing with also make use of Dynamic Control Lists (DCL). Is there a way to get the DCL info using SOAP? I did notice that the dOptionListKey element contains the name of the view from which the option list values will be derived. However, I cannot find a service that takes the view name as a parameter to return the option list values. I have looked in the services reference manual, but I have not had any luck finding what I am looking for.

1. Application and all the Pages associated with it, which I am getting from apex_applications and
apex_application_pages. This is OK
2. List of all the Database Objects (Table/View) which the individual page is using, I mean relation between Page ID and database object. HOW to get that???.....(I want for each individual page, the list all the database objects (tables/views), which that page is using)

Tables / views used by Forms

Hello,
I wanna know, is there any methos to find the tables and views used by a stand-alone application (e.g.Forms, reports). The idea is that i wanna "clean" the schema, in sense of there are VERY much unused tables, and i wanna know which tables/views are used and which not. I know, in case of stored procedures there exists 'Dependencies', but in this case?

[iPhone] large table view (500+ elements), each cell with a UIWebView

I'm developing an application that has to show a table view with 500 (or more) elements in it. Each element has a UIWebView that has to load an image (50x50 pixels in PNG format) from a web server. What i'm finding is that, when this table view is displayed, most of the images don't show up, though a few of them do. I've verified that all of the images are indeed on the web server, but I think that most of the requests fail (perhaps to too many of them going on at once?). Furthermore, the table sometimes scrolls very rough i.e. when an upcoming cell is loading its' image.
Other iPhone apps seem to do the UIWebView-in-a-cell thing pretty well i.e. Facebook. In the Facebook iPhone app, the table scrolls smoothly, and the images display as they're loaded. How can I make my app behave similarly?

Hmm ... something still isn't right. The scroll view still scrolls very jerkily, and the reason seems to be that I don't know which delegate method to override to detect when scrolling has finished. I tried overriding -scrollViewDidScroll, like so:

i.e. -scrollViewDidScroll was called multiple times, even though I only swiped once. I just want to know when the scrolling has truly and completely stopped, so I can tell the visible cells to draw their album art. Which delegate method do I override?

How to group table rows using GroupedColumn?

Hi all,
i know by binding the grouping value to a context, it can merge rows into one. but this only works if the two rows are adjacent.
if the context looks like this:
value 1
value 2
value 1
value 2
it can not group them together
how to group them together and merge the rows?

You dont need to worry about the component usage nor you need to create or handle anything like that for AET compoent for table extension. SAP has a special way to handle it in WD_USAGE_INITIALIZE of component controller for AET extension generated component so its nothing for us to do about it. Thanks to SAP

Hide data in a table view

I need to hide data in a table..Only column headers required to display.. I tried by (display column headers only) in view..It is showing only column header in the view ..But when iam displaying the table in dashboard it displays data also..another approach i took is to hide data from column properties ...Custom css display:none.. it is working fine..But the thing is it will not display data in other views also.I need to hide data only in table view..any helps will be appreciated.. Try this....
Take columns twice and first set which is use in table view (use display:none)
and second set use in pivot table and exclude first set columns........

Query and update a table/view

What is the best & fastest way to do this?
1) Put up a query input region for users to enter parameters.
2) Run a query on a table/view using those parameters.
3) Allow the output in (2) to be modified by user (multiple rows at a time) and then Submit the updates back to update th table/view
I can do (1) and (2) easily. How can I do (3)?

Make a report on the table. Go to the definition of
the report column and change the "Display As" type to
text field or select list or whcih ever is
applicable. Write a process on submit to insert these
values back to the table. You will have control over
which columns the user can modify.Thats a good idea and I was able to start on it. But how can my after submit process tell which rows to modify? i.e. what will my after submit process look like?

Problem in the Table view of VC model

Hi all,
We have a created a table view using the BI query as source.
the table view has say 4 fields (Serial NO., Plant key, Material and Quantity) initially before submitting the parameters, once we enter some parameters and press submit button some extra fields are getting added at the end of the existing fields.
i.e the final result is Serial NO., Plant key, Material and Quantity, Plant, Material, Quantity. last 3 fields are undesired.
This is happening only when we select few fields in the define / Test Query setting (we are doing this to avoid unwanted fields while exporting data to excel).
Is there a way to avoid this addition of extra fields in the table view.
any help is highly appreciated.

Are you getting these extra columns in 'Table' or while executing 'Define / Test Query'?
If you are getting this in table then dont select anything while dragging the table from query. (When the systems ask to select the fields) Select the fields after creating the table & then see what is happening.

Can I use SQLite as a server-side Database?

In a web based iphone application can we use SQLite as the database which will handle tens of millions of records without failing at the server side?
Or else what will be better for that purpose?

I have one doubt. I feel like SQLite is an embedded database for iPhone/iPad/iPod devices. And my requirement is something that I want to use the database to be stored and maintained at the server-side as like a day-to-day web-server.
For example database used for IRCTC or gmail server's database etc. I have certain things to maintain at server-side as like login details(Name, password, location of launching application, Date, time) or something like offers of the month, and to retrieve the details either mails or any other details of the loggedin person with the iPhone from any location as we do with our system to access the mail accounts from server.
The server's database should bear loads for more than millions of users logging in.
Will SQLite handle such a thing. or I have to use something like MySql or Oracle?
Which will be best for that reason(ofcourse with a minimal of cost)?

Complete table view controller with XML

Today I am making an example where I use a table view controller and fill it witharray (NSMutableArray).
However I would do the same using XML so that now, I'm having so many difficulties to the point of not knowing where to start.

If you have a custom XML schema (not a plist), consider two approaches.
1. Before showing your table view, use NSXMLParserto deserialize the XML document into an NSMutableArray that will be the table view data source. Typically the array contains custom class instances; one or more class properties are used to set table cell properties in cellForRowAtIndexPath. If you have never worked with NSXMLParser (or any other SAX parser) before, start by creating a sample app so you understand how that works.
2. Use a 3rd-party DOM parser like GDataXML. Load your XML document into a class property in your table view's viewDidLoad. Then the XML document will be the table view data source since elements and attributes can be directly queried using XPath in cellForRowAtIndexPath. If you have never worked with XML DOM and XPath before, start by creating a sample app so you understand how that works.
If your have a lengthy complex XML document, option #1 might be more efficient because indexed array access is faster than XPath queries. Theoretically that is why Apple's Cocoa provides DOM support on OS X but not iOS. There are strategies to improve efficiency if necessary, including your own indexing scheme. The best solution depends on many factors. For example, if your XML document includes thousands of rows, but users rarely scroll past the first 10, option #1 would waste time parsing everything.
Both of these approaches keep all data in memory, which is fast but not friendly. Perfectly fine for reasonably sized data sets.

Hiding report title in Group Tree View Pane

In a .rpt file, if I provide a Group Field, it is displayed in the "Group Tree View" when I preview the report.
The Group Tree View pane also contains the name of the report - actually the title. Is there a way that I can choose not to show report title on this pane?
Here is my requirement:
I'm localizing the report file and that includes localizing group names too. I've also localized the report title by using a formula and displaying the formula in the report header. But this pane - Group Tree View - uses report title from "Special Fields", which I'm not able to modify. So I'm always getting the non-localized report title displayed on this pane, which I want to avaid somehow.
If I remove report title from the report properties, this pane shows report file name instead, which again i do not want to be displayed.

After removing the report title from the report properties try to place a space " " in the report title field in summaryinfo so that a blank space is shown in the group tree.

[iPhone] UI Design pattern for table views with properties and children?

I'm getting started with iPhone development and I have a question about the proper way to display a list that has both properties of the list itself as well as the ability to drill down into the members of the list. For example, my data is a Group (of people say). The Group itself can have properties - the name of the group, group email address, web page, etc. - and it obviously has members which also have properties - name, address, etc.
In my table view, I want to show the Group members and have accessory/disclosure buttons on each row to show the details of a person, but I also want to be able to edit the properties of the group - Group name, etc. What's the UI pattern for editing the properties of the table itself?
I thought about having a tabbar that toggles between the list and the properties of the list.
I also thought about having a parent table that lists the groups (so I could have more than one) and then have accessory buttons on each group row. The UI would then have to be that the user taps the row to drill down to the group members and taps the accessory button to edit the properties of the group. Is that "proper" - tap the bar or tap the accessory icon in a table row?

I don't think I'd use a tab bar.
You could break the table up into 2 sections, section 0 being the properties, section 1 the list.
Make section 0 just say 'Properties', then when you tap that row you drill down to a properties table, slap an edit button in the navigation bar to go into edit mode.
