Iphone - ipod touch Remote application search result limitation

I found a very annoying limitation in the search facility of the remote application for the iphone. It limits the number of the results to eight elements per type (Album, Artist,Song). It displays the first eight results per category, arranged alphabetically.It renders the whole remote application useless for me. There is not even a "display more" button in the end of the result list so that you can get the rest related elements. Am I doing something wrong here? Have you noticed that? Having a Masters in Human computer interaction I find this problem in functionality unacceptable and I wonder why there are no other posts indicating that.

I'm having the same problem. IT only works when you open iTunes again and have remote open and atively searching for the library does it reconnect. I don't know of any other way. But Apple needs to devise away where we can tell iTunes to easily search for remotes again or to automatically keep looking for remotes every so often.

I've never found a way with the little remote included with the iMac, but then again, when you use that you're not in iPhoto, but in a programme called Front Row.

IPhone/iPod Touch Remote and multiple AppleTVs
When you use the AppleTV remote that comes in the box, you can have each AppleTV you have play different content, such as music. Pretty basic. However, when you use AirTunes to stream music to multiple AppleTVs, there can only be one stream. My question is when you use the Remote App on the iPhone or iPod Touch, can you tell different AppleTVs to play different music? I'm assuming that the music is on the AppleTVs' hard drives.
ThanksYou have made a fundamental mistake in your understanding of AirTunes.
AirTunes does not play the music stored on the Apple TV, it streams music from iTunes on your computer.
Your computer can stream to more than one Apple TV, BUT it can only be the same stream which it keeps in sync to all devices. It cannot stream different streams over AirTunes to different Apple TV's.
The iPhone Remote can do the following :-
Directly control the Apple TV, playing music stored on the Apple TV just as you do with the Apple TV remote.
It can also control iTunes, and therefore AirTunes to stream music to wireless devices on your network. -

Spotlight searches the following:
Contacts—All content
Apps—Titles
Music—Names of songs, artists, and albums, and the titles of podcasts and videos
Podcasts—Titles
Videos—Titles
Audiobooks—Titles
Notes—Text of notes
Calendar (Events)—Event titles, invitees, locations, and notes
Mail—To, From, and Subject fields of all accounts (the text of messages isn’t searched)
Reminders—Titles
Messages—Names and text of messages
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsynce all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Best database format for iPhone / iPod Touch Application?

I plan to develop an iPhone / iPod Touch application that reads from an offline database (basically a big list of text data). Which format should / could I use? XML? Any other? And how would the XML be embedded / included in the App?

IPod Touch Remote doesn't connect after 8.1 upgrade
After upgrade to iTunes 8.1 with iTunes DJ my ipod Touch Remote app wont work as before.
I get a connection that makes it possible for me to vote and wish songs in iTunes DJ, but I don't have the possibility to change volume, stop, play, skip as before.
It's like my iPod is only a guest and not trusted Remote.
I've tried re-installing. I've checked the "find remote" in preferences.
I get the 4 digit code on the iPod, but I don't see my iPod under devices to the left in iTunes! So I cant enter the code....
It's soooo frustrating!
I've checked the firewall settings and I'm certain both computer and iPod are on the same wifi.

No video through ipod touch remote app?
i've connected my ipod touch to my tv using apple-branded dock and tv cables. for media stored on the touch, i can listen to music and watch video on the tv. when i connect in using remote to my mac mini (i am able to negotiate the 4digit pin so it is connecting), i can listen to my mini's music. when i try to access video, i can hear the audio (i think) but cannot see the video. the problem seems to be isolated to the video playback. this same video plays back on the itunes on my mini so i know that the video is good. the mini is current with all patches via "software update".
any ideas? is it something simple i missed?The video would be playing back on your Mac mini. Apple Remote is just a remote control, not a media streaming program.
(There are streamers available that specialize in iPhone/iPod touch though, such as DOT.TUNES for example). -

Mate simply... it was my router! I was using an older DSL2 dlink thing, changed to an Alcatel N type. Is your linksys a G or N type router, seems to make a difference, how old is it?? also yeah the apple guys couldn't help here either, just had to work out myself :S

When will apple have windows sdk for making apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch?
If you are eager to make applications for mobile devices, like the iPhone itself sorry you can't. Only on mac computer that you are able to make application for the Iphone/iPod touch. For some reason the problem for an sdk to not be for windows it might have to be with the competition between Microsoft an apple.(I'm just speculating due to the constant attacks of mac vs windows pc commercials)
But if you have a great idea for an application, move to two rounds down to Google.... Yeah! You heard right google android system which it allows you to create application right on your windows operating system. Plus, you are totally guaranteed that application makes it to the store and it's a more open system than own apple ecosystem. -
IPhone/iPod Touch browser support

I get a pop up in Safari on an iPod Touch saying I have an unsupported browser. IE 7, Firefox, etc are supported. The project is using ADF components.
Web pages do work in Google's Chrome.

The support for iPhone/iPod Touch Safari is in ADF Mobile, which as Shay pointed out requires the use of the Trinidad library. A view project intended for ADF Mobile cannot contain any reference to ADF Faces components. The general steps for creating an ADF Mobile application is as follows:
1. Define your model project as usual, or simply re-use the same model project or application as your ADF Faces app.
2. Create a new project - select a generic project. When prompted for project technology, select just "Mobile". This would bring over the necessary libraries for ADF Mobile, but nothing else.
3. Create page flows and views as you would for any JSF application. You can use any Trinidad component available in the component palette.

Do any fellow iTunes U administrators know anything about this? How is existing content presented in the new app? Would we need to change anything? How do we access / make available the new features?
The new features sound fantastic but it would have been nice to have some warning. I appreciate that Apple has to keep specific details about developments confidential but it's slightly disconcerting that iTunes U administrators were not forewarned about this new development and that there has been no mention of it on this forum. Also - and at the risk of sounding like a broken record - it really would be helpful for iTunes U administrators to have a private forum (perhaps an add-on to Public Site Manager) where we could discuss issues and share ideas and best practice etc.Greetings Tom;

I need to synch my iphone, ipod touch and classic to a Mac that I have and 2 I am about to buy. I have legally paid for all my music. If I use migration on my new Macs and clone the original, can I use my iAppliances on all 3 Macs?
Yes.
You can authorize up to 5 computers to play itunes music ( pre-itunes plus). There is no limit on itunes plus ( all itunes music for the past several years) and imported music.
You can sync as many ipods/ipads/iphones as you like to each of your computers. -

I am curious as IIRC (but forgot where the article is on the Internet),
if a touch surface is wanted to be able to detect more than 1 touch point at the same time,
then that touch surface needs adding 1 more conductive(?) layer.
(e.g. 2 points -> 2 layers, and so on)
So I wonder how many these layers are on the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad or even the trackpad on every MacBook (Pro).
(correct me if I'm wrong)
