IPhone sending attachment problems

Hi,
I'm testing an Exchange 2010 setup. All is setup well, everything works flawless, except for one thing. ActiveSync in combination with iPhone OS 3.1.2. And the only problem that one has is sending attachments. The rest is all working perfect.
Problem:
Send an attachment (photo for example), and initially there's always an error popping up, "Sending this message failed". Go to outbox, hit refresh, and it sends. (9 out of 10 times). ActiveSync logging doesn't reveal anything. Have no other phones to test with. Both iPhones I tested with are having the same issue. I can remember having had the same problem with Exchange 2007 in an early roll up, with the difference that it wouldn't send at all back then. Whether it was the phones firmware, or roll up packages, I can't remember. All I know E2K7 SP1 and SP2 worked flawlessly. Now with E2K10 I'm having troubles again.
I already removed Sent items from Favorites, because I read somewhere that Exchange tries to keep the folders which are in Favorites in sync over ActiveSync. Imagined this could be a problem, but it turned out it didn't help.
All Exchange connectivity tests succeed, certificates are ok and working.
So far I ran out of options, I hope someone here has the same issues or better, has solved it :)

I don't know if UltraSub have the problem anymore but i will post my solution for any other searching hours like me.
This one worked for me.
When you use certificate authentication you have to set the uploadReadAheadSize in the IIS metabase to your max email size, the default is 48KB so nearly any attachment cannot be sent/forwarded.
With the following command you can change the value (in this case 10MB):
C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config -section:system.webServer/serverRuntime /uploadReadAheadSize:"10485760" /commit:apphost
C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config "Default Web Site" -section:system.webServer/serverRuntime /uploadReadAheadSize:"10485760" /commit:apphost
After this restart the IISAdmin service to affect the change.

The only things i want to know now.
- Why does this only occur on Iphone and not on WinMo
- Why doesn't this occur without certificate authentication.
- Why does mailsend work after some retries.

Just tested this, and it sure looks like this is the solution. Already send 3 emails with a size of 5MB without a glitch over a 3G connection.
Running an iPhone 4 on 4.1 (8B117). Will test my girlfriend's 3GS tonight. Hope this one sticks :)

My iphone has had problems sending e-mail via my 1&1 e-mail account for the last two days. I get a 'recipient rejected by the server' message. I have not changed any settings. If I change the from address to i-cloud the e-mails go. Advice please.

i think you need to contact your email provider - that sounds like an issue on their end and nothing to do with your phone.

Unfortunately, we (Adobe Reader mobile team) do not know if/when Apple will fix the attachment problems (software defects) in Apple Mail.
In particular, the attachment problem with Microsoft Outlook (See Problem #2 in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems) appears to be a long-standing defect that has been known for years. However, Apple has not provided any fix for Apple Mail yet.
Adobe Reader for iOS merely launches Apple Mail (the default mail app on iOS) to send a PDF document as an attachment. Adobe Reader has no control over whether or not to embed a preview image of an attachment in the body of an email message, which is known to cause the problem with Microsoft Outlook (on the receiving side). The same problem happens when you send a single-page PDF document as an attachment along with an email signature from Apple iBooks on iOS.
For now, all iPad/iPhone users can do is to avoid the problems by using the workarounds that are described in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems.
When new and different problems with PDF attachments are reported by Adobe Reader for iOS users, we will update the document above.

Send attachment though mail using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1

Hello Gurus,
Please help me with the mail sending attachment(excel file) using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
Here is the actual problem.
I am using the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 in my prog.
My attachment(excel sheet which is taken from internal table) contains the 10 records with one header description and data related to that description.
I am able to send the attachment but the records in the attachment has more than 255 characters nearly 700 character length.
So I spilt up each internal table record(with structure type solisti1) into 3 internal table records and populated it.
It is showing the entire record in the attached file but I am not able to see some fields which are embeded deeply inside the cells.
And they are not having any proper allignment.
Please do help me.

If I attach my iPhone, then it pays them through the iPhone, but still not through the library in iTunes. How can I get the music library on my iPhone to transfer (i.e. restore it) to iTunes? I have iPhone 4S but have not upgraded to the iOS 6, and have not had any problems until last week. Help! Thanks.

Check the manual for whatever backup program you used, or, if you just copied the files over, copy them that.
How to restore data to your PC is outside the scope of these forums.

Hi I have this problem which I believe you can help me resolve:
In my code, there are two lines:
message.setContent(messageBody, "text/html"); // this sets body of message
message.setContent(bodyPartObject); // this attaches a file
but it turns out that the second "setContent" statement over-writes the first one, so that I get no message in the body of the mail.
What can I do about it, shamik1? Thanks!

Email doesn't work on Z10 when sending attachment after software update on Telus, Gmail but works on live.ca

Having my Telus email refusing to send attachment (one meg picture), without attachment everything is OK, can receive attachments. Weird thing is my live.ca account works perfectly. All that happens is the clock and sending icon would alternate (left it for a couple of hours - still the same). Same result using Wi-Fi or LTE, 4G. So called tech support @ Telus and they have no solution and have two Z10 with same problem sending attachment but on Gmail account. They are sending a ticket to Blackberry to see if problem can be resolved.
Emails were working perfectly before software ugrade three days ago. Anyone else having these issues? Ideas to resolve?

FINALLY, after TWO full months of waiting and checking every day, the problem has been resolved. I'm disappointed that Blackberry took so long to fix, but happy that my email can finally send attachments. Also disappointed that I was not notified of the fix by my provider Telus (which they said they would). Hopefully the problem is permanently resolved and won't re-appear after another software update.

"send", "attach" boxes disappeared from new message screen.

My "New Message" screen no longer displays boxes to send, attach file, etc. I don't know what I did to cause it, and can't find out how to restore them. I can still use these functions from the menu bar, but the boxes were very handy and I'd like to have them back.

I found the problem. To see the "send", "attach" and other icons, click view>show toolbar.

Hey There I didn't need to change it as it shows my correct name in my icloud account. The problem is on my Mac where it still shows my Full name as my partners name.
For eg. if I send an email from "Mail" on mac and I use my icloud account then the name that shows up is my partners name when the email is received. If I send an email from the Icloud Mail box that I log into on my browser then the name that shows up when the email is received is my name which is correct.
When I go into preferences in "Mail" on my Mac to change my name, the name is ghosted out and doesn't allow me to change it ! ? It is here that it still show my partners name ?

Does the iPhone send street addresses over bluetooth to cars?

I've searched a lot and found answers that say it's the iPhone, it's the car, or both. I've not seen any concrete answers either way with definitive information though. This is dealing with the MyGig system. I saw the other post mentioning MyGig and read through the comments, but unless I missed it, I acknowledge is quite possible, I didn't see anything addressing the issue I'm talking about.
I have no problems getting the phone numbers & names, but I just cannot get the address over. This makes the GPS aspect completely useless. I'd hate to have to disable the bluetooth contact export option and use the system's internal phone book just to get this to work. So my question is, has anyone had any success with their iPhone sending contacts to their car? It doesn't have to be a MyGig system, if it works with any system that would make me think that it's a compatibility between the two and not just a gross oversight of Apple with what the iPhone should be able to do.

when i was running 4.3.x on my iphone 4 i noticed that from time to time the wifi would actually mysteriously disconnect and my iphone 4 would not try to reconnect just continue to do whatever it was doing, like watching videos on 3g gobbling up my data plan. it became so frequent i turned off cellular data entirely. since i went to ios 5 i have not seen this problem come back. even on wifi if you turn off cellular data you don't get visual voice mail!! hmm
maybe if see a genius they might be able to explain what is going on
i complained to at&t and they gave me a one time credit and removed the overage charges on my account

Nokia N8 Anna. Can't send attachment

I can receive and send Yahoo email but have problem with attachment, especially with sending attachment from phone. A mere 200KB photo attachment could take hours to send! It will just sit in the Outbox. And when I select it, it will say it can't be opened because it's in the process of sending. Any idea?

In regards to the attachments, there are a few things you can check:
*Please make sure that a firewall or anti-virus software is preventing the website or the browser from uploading
* Clear all of your history
*Safe mode [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]] to see if its a plug in
