I need help I have had my daughters ex boyfriend hack and admit to doing so downloading apps so many crazy things. I dont have a clue how to set up phone or anything.

It sounds as if you have had some distressing events with your iPhone. Let’s see if we can make things secure again.
First of all, if your iCloud account has been compromised, you should change your Apple ID password. Follow the directions on this page -

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID. When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data. If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account. If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

Unless as part of a backup, or stored somewhere else, they are gone.
Your son needs his own Apple ID for iCloud, FaceTime & iMessage. He can continue to use yours for iTunes content, but for everything else, he needs his own.
When you did what you did, as far as iCloud knows, this is the same person with multiple devices, and that's they way things are supposed to work: keep everything in sync.

That setting is for turning on iTunes Match, if you are an iTunes Match subscriber. (iTunes Match is a separate service you can pay to subscribe to which will allow you to access your music library from iCloud - see http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/. When it is turned on, all music on the device is deleted and must then be accessed through your iTunes Match account.)

IPhone 3G and iCloud mail

Hi all. I have a question. I have a 3 y.o. iPhone 3G and I would like to configure my new @me.com mail.
If I go to "add new mobile me account" on the phone, it gives me only the option "Find my iPhone": I'm wondering wht it doesn't give me also mail, calendar and contacts option.
So I'm wondering if there is the possibility to use PUSH MAIL with iPhone 3G and iCloud mail account.
I only found a "manual" configuration that seem to work only for incoming mail, but I didn't understand how to activate push mail notifications.

Iphone 3GS and icloud

Hi, I have just updated my iphone 3GS to iO5 and unknown to me it has sent all my music and apps to icloud, and off my phone. Would anyone know how I can get all my music and apps back on to my phone please, without it costing me anything to get them back.

Please help, my calendar events are missing from iphone, ipad, and icloud that were there last week

I use the calendar on my iphone and I pad for my entire life, including work, everything for my boys and all of my hubbys appointments.
Last Friday was the last time that I inputed appointments into my calendar and everything previous was in there and on my ipad and icloud.
I went in this morning to check an appointment time for something next week and found that 99% of the events that I had scheduled since the beginning of the year are missing. And they are missing from my iphone, my ipad, my icloud, and no longer in my Yahoo calendar.
I am drfinately in a panic, i need these ....
Has anyone had this problem?
Can anyone tell me how to get them back please

i.e. on the phone settings > mail, contacts, calendars > calendars > sync.

Iphone recovery and icloud login.

so i tried to update my iphone 4 to the newest update, and then it failed. i've restored factory settings and tried to install the icloud update. it tells me my password is not right. is there a way i can restore my password?

My iPad has been stolen, I need some help with the Find my iPhone app and iCloud please

Hello people. I have (had) an iPad 1 (wifi only) - which was stolen two days ago. It's locked with a passcode but I am worried that someone will be able to get into it. I've got the Find app installed on my iPhone 4S and it shows that both my iPad and stolen iPod are offline.
Q - if either the iPad or the iPod goes into an unlocked wifi area, will I be notified on my phone?
Q - can anyone actually break into my iPad as it is locked?
Q - how does iCloud work in terms of the info that's on my iPad - photos etc that I don't want to lose?
Q - I've reported this to the police - does Apple need to know?

Iphone 3gs and icloud lost 2/3 of my contacts for no reason, backed itself up on icloud, now they are gone.

1) I have 3 iphone 3gs phones (2 16gb and 1 8gb) all updated to iOS 5.0.1.
2) I added the 8Gb device to my itunes account and icloud this weekend and then I decided to make another itunes account for that phone and seperate it from the other 2 phones as it is used by another family member who does not need to be connected through icloud to the other 2 phones.
3) When I did this it changed my old itunes account email address to a non-existent email address that was a strange combination of the two email addresses for which I have appleIDs with.
4) I went back to itunes and fixed the appleId email address back to the correct address.
5) Following this ordeal, 2/3 of the contacts vanished from my icloud account and phones. Never to be seen again since icloud does not back-up any contacts but mirrors them.
Therefore, since it backed-up to icloud prior to discovering the problem, I will need to manually recover over 100 contacts. If you need to restore from the iCloud back-up, how do you do it? You can set what you want to back-up and you can delete the back-up but you can not restore from the back-up in any obvious or easy way??? If it simply mirrors this information, then quit calling it a back-up... not true! It would have changed how I set-up my phone in itunes... also, why would any contacts just disappear without notice or anything? Just vanished? I assume when it backed-up to iCloud but it happened on the 2 phones connected to the same iCloud account, because they are synced with iCloud. So I can sync to iCloud and back-up to my computer but then I have to deal with duplicated data on the phones which have limitted memory.
Another issue, a single instance of online support from apple is $29? Enough never to use apple product again. They change the OS so often they should always carry free online support for these changes that are not associated with the purchase date of the phone. Ridiculous! and discouraging... I found the same thing from HP support... If you can't put out a product that works longer than 1 year, then I won't buy your products anymore. Apple has 90 days of complimentary support on products and a 1 year waranty? in this economy that is irresponsible and they have poor engineering if your dependable lifecycle is 1 year. That's all they can guarantee? Based on the average american's income, they expect you to spend a large percentage of this on this kind of technology every year? Figure it out Apple.
Can anyone guide me through the propper way to use this crap without losing data. I have not quite coped with the fact I have lost all of that data. Horrible.

HT204150 Syncing issues between Iphone 3G and Icloud

I have a IPhone3G which has 127 contacts I go to my Icloud has 61. How do I merge all my contacts from my IPhone to the ICloud and transfer all contacts back so they are indeed synced ?
I want to do this will will all my other devices as well. My wife's Iphone 3G and our Ipad 2. So, I am thinking it would be best to sync all the contacts to the Icloud and edit them there, create groups and load back to the various devices. Sounds simple doesn't it ? I hope!

No - the syncing process for contact info is a bidirectional or true sync process. There is no setting for not transferring or syncing contacts with an email address only. If you don't want these contacts with an email address only on your iPhone, delete the contacts from the address book used by OE.

My iPhone calendar and iCloud sync only one way

My iPhone 4 (iOS 5) calendar and iCloud sync only one way -- from iCloud to the phone. Any ideas why I can't sync from my iPhone calendar to iCloud?

When you add an event on Iphone, 3rd fields down from bottom, select calender > iCloud. Voila!!
I am not sure everybody understand really the intention with iCloud. It is one single calender residing on a Apple server somewhere. Selecting iCloud from any device will show this calender. Then how to sync this with other calenders is to me a mystery, or not possible, especially on Lion iCal. Please anyone.
