IPhone suddenly no longer receving emails!

Up until last Thursday, I was happily using my iPhone 3 to receive emails sent to my @mac.com account.
neevr had any problems.
Then suddenly, nothing!
Everyt time I click on the email icon on my iphone, all I get is a message saying my username or password for ".Mac" is incorrect.
I spoke to someone from, apple earlier and they told me to back up and update via iTiunes.
I did this but to no avail.
All that seems to have happened is I've lost the music I had on my phone in my itunes and lost all the emails I had there.
Still not able to receive anything.
I can get my emails via icloud online, but that's it!
Very annoying.
Any help most appreciated.

Thanks for your help.
To answer a few questions . . . if I click that link above in Peter Smith's comments, it takes me to the Mobileme site, where I can log in, but it then tells me that Mail is now in iCloud and redirects me there. So that's not a problem.
The music situation was as you described it, yes: I had music on your phone, did some backup and restore activities and then the music did not get transferred into my iTunes library. I have a lot of other music stored in iTunes, but would've liked to just kep the special stuff I'd secleted to have in the phone. Can't remember exactly what it all was and thus can't simply reload it all.
Finally, as for deleting and manually recreating the account with the Mail app on your iPhone . . . could you tell me in more detail how I'd go about doing that?

    Your issue is with the Yahoo email account which is notoriously bad.
    you can try deleting and reinstalling the email account.
    If that doesn't fix it try the yahoo email app.

    My iPhone suddenly stopped sending Comcast emails--still receives.  The iPhone will send and recieve gmail and my work email from the iPhone.  My iPad sends and recieves all three accounts including Comcast.  I compared the email settings and the iPhone and iPad are identical.

    Make sure the SMTP primary server is set to smtp.comcast.net, and that your SMTP server settings are the same as your iPad too (mine are SSL = Off and Server Port = 587).  If they are, try deleting the account and recreating it again.

    If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Just to add to what ChrisJ4203 said.  You can sync them to your new computer using iTunes by selecting to Include Voice Memos on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  However, you still need to re-establish syncing with the new computer without iTunes erasing all the iTunes media from your phone (as the warning mentioned).
    If you copy your entire iTunes folder (not just your music) from your old computer to your new one, along with other non-iTunes media you may be syncing with iTunes (such as contacts, calendars and any photos synced to your phone from your old computer) by using migration assistant of following one of these methods: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527, then when you sync again with your new computer it will recognize your phone and sync as it did before.  You will still have to authorize the new computer for any Apple IDs used to purchase from the iTunes and App stores (in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer). 
    After that you can sync your voice memos to your computer as mentioned earlier.
    If you want to archive your voice memos before you do anything with iTunes, you can use a 3rd party program such as PhoneView or Touch Copy.

    SMS is a carrier feature, what did your phone carrier say when you contacted them about your issue?
    Double check you have MMS turn on in message settings.

    Hi all,
    not sure whether this is an iphone issue or email issue, but had to start somewhere.
    I am using a mail.live (outlook) email account. I've notced that recently (since iOS update??) that I no longer receive emails on my iPhone from one particular sender.
    If I log into same account via computer (PC or Mac) all the eamils from that sender are sitting in the inbox.
    I still receive emails from other contacts that use the same email client server as the one that I'm having issues with.
    Any ideas?

    I have junk folder disabled, and I even created a rule now that is supposed to redirect any mails from the sender to my inbox, but still no luck
    By the way, the sender I'm not receiving emails from is called Jagex, a games company.

    Are you trying to change the Apple ID associated with your iCloud account?  If so, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
    To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

    Hi there,
    No I didn't. Someone suggested in another thread that my iPod was registering as a disk instead of a device, so if I removed my iPod as a disk on Disk Utility then it would reload etc. and show up in iTunes. Which it didn't, and instead just cleared all my music (16,000 songs).
    So frustrating.
    Hope if you have the same problem you are able to find a better solution!

    Sometimes this setting causes problems. Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
    You can also try resetting all settings. This causes all of the settings to revert to out of the box condition. I reset my setrings a littl earlier today and had to sign back into Messages and FaceTime. You will not lose any data. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

    try a reset, hold down the home/power button togetther until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for you phone to boot back up.

    I have 5 email accounts set up on my imac. 3 are mine 2 are my partners. I can no longer send emails from my accounts but my partner still can. They all still receive mail but when I attempt to send mail I get:-
    Cannot Send Message Using Server
    Then i'm asked to select a different server from a list. I have tried all but to no avail.
    I first of all deleted my partners sky.com account because it appeared to me that this was maybe overiding all other accounts and it was no longer needed on imac.
    I then deleted one of my accounts - hotmail, to see if i added it again maybe it would work but now I cant even re add the mail account as everytime i go to mail, preferences account to set it up again the initial screen comes up with my partners details including the sky.com username and when i overwrite these and try to install hotmail acount I get told that logging in failed check user name and password is correct. Which they are.
    All used to work fine but now I have these problems, they appeared to have started when my partner set up an icloud account and is synching with this - could this be the cause?

    First,
    I'd run all availiable software updates. After that, I would try removing all of the accounts from "Mail", and then re-adding them. Be aware that if your folders and such are located on your mac, and not on the mail servers, you may risk lose some information (always have a back-up).
    Sometimes, when you have a number of e-mail account there can be server issues abound. I would go into the server lists and make sure that they are set properly. If you see the "use only this server" box, check it for each of them.
