Hi Rui C,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that it can be frustrating when you cannot see your iPhone via Wi-Fi in iTunes. In this situation I would recommend the troubleshooting steps in the attached article to help resolve the situation.

Is synching over wi-fi viable?  I've never done it, but when I tried something similar back in the old Palm PDA days, it was S-L-O-W, slow as molasses.  I realize that the i-device are far more modern with faster processors, but wondering whether it's even worth exploring doing this.

I have the iphone 4 and PC with Windows Vista Basic. When I bought my iPhone syncs with iTunes on my computer, but now when I try to sync it tells me that Mobile Device Service was closed and I can not synchronize the phone. Try restarting Mobile Device Service and uninstall and reinstall Itunes but still giving me the same error.

  • Can more than 1 iphone sync with itunes?

can more than 1 iphone sync with itunes?

    This isn't a problem, but a question.
    1. Can you sync your iphone with remote to more than one itunes library (such as itunes on 2 different computers)?
Yes you can sync with more than one iTunes Library. I just did it today with the library on my Mac and PC
    if so then...
    2. Does the itunes have to be maximized for the remote function to work, or can it be minimized on the task bar at the bottom?
On my mac I can play the songs with iTunes minimized.
The reason why, is I want to sync my iphone with my mother's computer at her house, and put some sound effects on her library. Then I want to turn her itunes on and minimize it and wait until she starts working on her pc and then I can play some practical jokes on her making her computer make weird noises (sound effects on itunes).
Any answers would be appreciated by me (but not my mother).
Thanks, and happy pranking to you all

  • Having trouble getting your iphone sync with itunes? Click here.

I, myself, has been one of the many people facing issues with their iphone (5S) being recognized or syncing with itunes after the new update, however, after calling an apple specialist, she taught me how to fix the problem.
You have to completely uninstall itunes and all of it's components (Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, Apple Application Support). Simply uninstalling itunes won't do the trick. You have to manually uninstall all of the listed program in your computer's uninstall programs page.
Please uninstall it in this specific order
    - itunes
    - Apple Software Update
    - Apple Mobile Device Support
    - Bonjour
    - Apple Application Support
And then reinstall the latest itunes at :
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5654?viewlocale=en_US
Connect your iphone and it should be good to go! It definitely worked for me! Hope this helps you! Cheers!

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • IPhone won't sync with iTunes over Wi-Fi, asking me to restore???

I just tried syncing my iPhone to iTunes over Wi-Fi, which usually works with no problem. The sync didn't work, and there was an error message stating that I need to plug my phone into the computer and restore its factory settings. Why did this happen? Is there a way I can fix this without restoring? I don't want to lose all of the contents off my phone. This usually works fine but it's acting up for some strange reason. Please help!

    Anyone? :(

  • Syncing with iTunes over wifi doesn't work

My iTunes sometimes does not recognize my iPhone... but sometimes it does. When I click to sync it will start but it will get an error eventually like "Sync failed to start" or "Unknown error -50".
I am not sure why iTunes will not sync. It used to work, but lately it hasn't been.
I put a bunch of new music on iTunes yesterday from old CD's I had and when I went to sync it showed it did, but when I went to play my music on my iPhone all the songs were just grayed out so I couldn't click on them....
so I used to USB cord and it synced fine...
So can it not send that much data over wifi or something?
I'm using iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop. I also have an iPad it won't sync with either.
    Thx.

Which application are you trying to use?
The manual mentions setting up an NMEA port where you post describes a COM port.  In the printing world a COM port is a USB physical port or oldschool Serial port.  These may not be the same thing which might explain why your app is not working.
    Lookup your installed ports (WinXP):
    1. Navigate to Start > Run
    2. Enter "cmd"
    3. Click OK
    4. Enter "netstat -a"
    5. Scroll through the list and review all available ports
If your port is not mentioned above by the port number you selected from the Wi-Fi over GPS screen then it is not active and will not be useful for your apps.  From the manual it looks like the default port number is 10110.
I would check the support site for your application to see if it is compatible with NMEA.  They might have more steps for you on how to configure your app to utilize the GPS over WiFi feature of the MiFi.

  • Create application through Automator to have iPhone sync with iTunes

Is there a way to create an Automator app so I can have an icon that when run, it syncs the iPhone with iTunes (basically choosing Sync iPhone under the File menu of iTunes)?

    Hi,
I'm using the new USB cable that came with my iPhone that I bought yesterday. Not sure if it's USB 2.0.
My iPod from a few years ago uses a Firewire cable.
My music is on an external LaCie hard drive.
The transfer rate of songs from my external to my iPhone is about a minute per song. However, the transfer rate of songs from my external to my iPod is about 5 seconds per song.
I just think that's a dramatic difference in time but am wondering if that's expected behavior or if there might be something wrong with my iPhone.
    Thanks.

  • My iPhone 4s no longer syncs with iTunes over Wi-Fi

Just noticed that when I start iTunes, it no longer sees my iPhone. Recently upgraded to IOS 6. I even went to settings on the iPhone and tryied to sync manually (over Wi-fi) and it said "trying to connect to <computer name>" but it never did.
Any ideas? I connected it with a USB and it synced just fine. I have iCloud backup disabled. I unchecked the re-checked the Sync over wi-fi check box but it still doesn't see my iPhone.
    Thanks

Usually re-starting the router and both iPhone and Mac helps. However, I am having this issue now as well ( as of last few days) and cannnot see the iPhone from iTunes...
if you get any luck - please let me know!

  • Can two different iPhones sync with iTunes?

I have the iPhone 4 and have managed/synced it to my iTunes account (my music library, videos, etc).
My room mate just got the iPhone 4s, hasn't activated it yet, but has no computer.  He uses my iMac.  I have admin privileges, since I'm the owner of the iMac.  He logs on as guest user.
Can he use my iTunes account to activate and manage his iPhone?  or since he logs on as guest, will iTunes intuitively allow him to use/manage his iPhone?
Or do I need to set him up his own user account?
    Thanks, Vince.

  • I have an iPod touch and iPhone synced with iTunes, however when I connect my iPhone it always downloads the apps from the iPod to the iPhone which I don't want to happen. This is a recent thing and I need to know how to stop this.

Can anyone help with the problem above?

With your phone connected, under the Apps tab, remove the check in the box labeled "Automatically Sync New Apps".
