  • IPad ios8 random reboot with blue screen

    Hi everyone,
I Know this question has been posted already but I'm so frustrated.
after upgrading to iOS 8 my iPad air started to reboot randomly with blue screen at least 5 to 6 times a day.
when will apple provide an update fixing this issue? Since it seems more common.
    model: iPad air wifi only
    ios: 8.0.2
i have tried turning off iCloud sync as many suggested but it didn't help.
reboots are frequent when I'm using safari.
most of the time the diagnostic log shows WDT timeout

    Try Barry's suggestion first.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • LR Mobile sync caused iPad mini to crash continuously and reboot with blue screen?

    Hi,
I've been using LR Mobile on my iPad Mini (Retina) for quite sometime now without any issues. It worked flawlessly, until yesterday.
I'm not sure whether this problem was caused by the LR Mobile app or not but this was my experience.
Begin syncing a LR Catalog file (760 photos, needed 1.6 GB of space on my iPad). Sync and download was in progress. (I enabled the offline edit option).
After like 10 minutes, I checked my iPad to see the sync status and it crashed and restarted by itself.
After it booted, I opened LR Mobile and bang.... it crashed again.
This happened several times and I also begin to get the blue screen of death on the iPad.
Finally, it booted properly and I opened LRM and begin to re-sync. Things went smoothly.
I had to cancel the sync (around 650 photos were synced) as I had to rush to work and the sync process was taking too long (it took me like 3 hours to sync the 650 photos as the iPad would go into sleep and the sync process would stop. Plus the iPad was crashing and rebooting in between the sync process and caused a loss of time).
Anyhow, on the way to work I opened LRM and begin working on the images. Everything seemed fine.
Just an hour ago, when I unlocked my iPad and wanted to work on the images, it crashed again. This time it went in a reboot cycle and the screen went bonkers - got the blue screen, and weird visual distortions of the apple logo, and other unusual visual effects begin to occur. I thought the iPad was gone for, as it went off and wouldn't even restart. (I even tried doing a hard reset - Home + Sleep/Wake buttons).
Finally when it booted and restarted on its own, I immediately deleted the LR Mobile app and restarted the iPad.
It's been like 2 hours now and the iPad's working fine.
Did anyone experience similar issues like this? Or is it just me
I feel very annoyed because after waiting for hours for my catalog to sync, I had to delete the app and lost all my synced photos
Can the Adobe LRM team please clarify if this could have been cause by the LRM app?
I've been using LRM for a long time and never encountered such a problem. Could it be because the app required around 1.6 GB of space on the iPad and they sync/download process was taking like forever to get done. ( I had plenty of free space on my iPad. Had like 5.6 GB free on it).
Any help and advise would be truly appreciated

    Hi,
Lightroom mobile should not be causing any iPad crashers, the issue with the crashing LrM is a known issue.
What would help would be if you can collect logs from your tablet and send them privately to me.
Only then we can know for sure if it's really caused by LrMobile.
We would need all your logs that you can find under these folders that are close to the date and time when your device restarted.
    OSX: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/DeviceName/
    Windows: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\DeviceName\
Btw you need to sync with iTunes to see them.
    thanks,
    Ignacio

    Hello jared1915
If you are stuck in that loop, the next step would be to restore your iPhone. Check out the article below to get your iPhone into recovery-mode and restore it in iTunes.

  • Radom Reboots and blue screens! Please help!

I just bulit a new system and I am having major problems with it.
    Specs First:
Amd Barton 2500 running at stock speeds 1.8 gigs
512 mb of Corsir ram running a stock timmings
200 gig maxtor hd with 8 mb of cache
K72NG mobo using the Nvidia drivers
480 wt Antec ture power PSU
Win Xp Pro no SP installed.
Ok heres the deal. As soon as I got the PC up and running and Xp installed on the HD, I went to nvidias site and downloaded the latest drivers. Installed those and thats it. Things where going ok for a while then I started having random reboots. Even when the system is 100% idle it just goes to a black screen and reboots. Same thing that hitting the reset button would do while in windows. It started happening more and more. I first thought it was my power supply. I was using a 400 wt raidmax at that time, but I checked and it had the specs of a 300 wt psu so I thought that might be the problems. After reading a review of it, they reported having some random reboots with chips that were around 1.8 gigs which is what mine is. So I ordered a 480 wt Antec ture power PSU. I installed that and I still had the same random reboots. So then I ran prime95 to test the memory and cpu. Prime would get a error after about 3 sec. So at this point in time I was thinking it was the memory. Before I tested the memory I reinstalled XP over it's self to save my programs and to see if it was just a bad install. It randomly rebooted like 40 times during the install casuing it to take about 4 hours. Once it was reinstalled the random reboots were still happening, but not as often. I am not getting fatal blue screen errors. They all appear to be memory releated. So at this point I took my pc over to a friends house and swaped out my memory with his. We noticed that XP was reading both of our memory sticks as only 480 mb and not 512. We thouhgt if it read it as anything it should be 524mb. In any case we put in his good, working memory that we knew worked fine. Same things, blue screens and programs having to be shut down due to errors. I am now at the point where I have no idea what it could be. I DO know its not the PSU and Memory sticks. I am also pretty sure the CPU is fine. And yes its cooled fine and the HSF is installed right. So I am lost and really need some help, my pc is total un useable right now. I am going to E3 this week and will have a TON of stuff to do when I get back. Any ideas would be great.I really need to get this fixed ASAP. The only thing I can think of is maybe I have a bad mobo. Or some how my XP install is screwed up. The last thing i will try is installed XP on a new 20 gig hd and seeing if that will run. Anyone here have any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it?

    "then look to your cooler
the other 32 mb of ram is what bios has allocated to your vga card use by the way "
Ahh yes forgot about the onboard gpu. But dude, it's not my cooler. My temps are fine I know how to install a HSF and I have the best one out there. My CPU is cooled damn good.
"it could still very well be some type of memory errors....try setting fsb @133 and memory at fsb/dram 1.1 all timings manual 6/3/3/2.5.....give it ago....if it works underclocked then it is still memory related."
Even when I swaped out with a diffrent stick of ram that we knew was working? I am not using cheap ram btw, I am using high proformance ram running at stock speeds :( FSB is set at 166 right now, the only setting I changed on the ram was running it at cas 2 instead of the bios default 2.5. I think the timings are underclocked right now, will have to check when I get home from work since I do not rember what I set them to last exactly.

  • K8N neo Platinum Win XP SP2 random system crashes/Blue screen

I have recently built a new pc with the items as listed in my signature.  Some of the compontents were new (RAM, HDD and VIdeo) and some were second hand (CPU, M/B, Keyboard and Mouse).   I found that when I install WIN XP the system seems ok.  But after I install any SP1 or SP2  which are required to run the USB2.0 my system crashes randomly and I get a windows blue screen and an auto restart.  in the last week it sometimes lasts a day or so then it crashes.  Other times it will crash within 5 minutes of start-up.  I found a forum topic about a similar problem the other day but when I went looking for it again I couldn't find that topic.  In that topic there were comments about PSU's and their ability to run the K8N Neo Platinum.  In my specs are my PSU details.  Can anyone advise if my PSU may be the problem or if there is any other problem.
I have made a WIN XP boot disk with SP1 and I have an SP2 disk I was given by a PC shop.  If you are able to help or need further info to be able to help please let me know.

  • Auto Reboot and blue screen on Lenovo vibe z2 pro (k920)

Hi!I created a theme en Russian forum, but the problem is not solved. Repair and replacement of the motherboard authorized service center does not solve the problem. The phone automatically restarts randomly about once a day. Some people frequently. Sometimes before restarting the blue LED lights up and a blue screen. Please help us.Lenovo Vibe Z2 PROK920_ROW_S141_150109

Hello Lenovo team, I have the same issue. Took the phone to the authorized service center in Jayanagar, Bangalore, India. They replaced the display and told me that the issues was resolved. The reason for blue screen and restart was mentioned as overheating due to excessive use of 3G connectivity. I was suggested by the authroized service staff to minimize my 3G connectivity usage. In the process of replacing the display, i am left with no company provided screen guard either. I come back home and the very next day the issue appears again. It restarts with blue screen every 2 minutes. The same way as before. Now the WiFi is permanently disabled as well. Cannot activate the soft button itself from the drop down menu.I am very disappointed. I paid a good price to buy the phone expecting good performance, durability and reliability. I had definitely not expected the phone to have such major functional issues within the first 6 months of purchase. I am only hoping that Lenovo understands the seriousness of the issue and provides me a replacement for the phone. I do have some videos of the issue, if it helps you in resolving the issue.

  • Random reboots with 975x Platinum v2.1?

As the title says, I have the MSI 975x Platinum v2.1. The system randomly reboots fairly, often, and I'm not sure what could be causing it.
I had this setup for a few weeks, before it locked up overnight and destroyed my memory. Board would halt on the memory initialization during POST, so I sent it back for RMA and now have the replacement. While waiting for the RMA, I bought some memory from a local retailer so I would have something to use. The system would randomly reboot, sometimes in Windows, sometimes while browsing the BIOS menus. I figured the motherboard was damaged too and I sent it back to the retailer for a RMA replacement. I now have the LE version of the board. I also bought a new power supply because I now thought it fried my stuff. Everything put back together, I'm still having random reboots. Here's the system specs:
    # Intel Core 2 EE x6800
    # MSI 975x Platinum v2.1 LE (BIOS 7.4 official)
    # mushkin REDLINE 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000
    # BFG Tech BFGR79256GTOCE GeForce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3
    # 1x NEC IDE DVDR, 1x Seagate 200GiB IDE, 1x Seagate 80GiB SATA2, 1x Seagate 400GiB SATA1, 1x Seagate 500GiB SATA2
    # Windows XP Pro SP2
    # Tagan TG-480-U22 ATX 480W, then mushkin HP-580AP ATX12V / EPS12V 580W
Currently, the system can play games for a couple hours with dnetc running in the background. Yet when I leave it running a torrent (or whatever) overnight, I'll wake up and find it rebooted (after like 6 hours of uptime).  I've also gotten it to reboot while just browsing web pages for a few minutes. The northbridge heatsink/heatpipe does get pretty hot, and my room does get warm, so I'll try adding a spare fan tonight. Though, I find this unlikely as the system should be working fine at stock speeds/voltages. Other than that, anyone have any suggestions?

I was actually using the Tagan in combined mode until I started having problems (ie, when the RAM died). By then, neither combined nor split appeared to have any helpful effect. I do not know if the Tagan was the cause of my problems, or if this is all something (???) else. I suppose I could try it again, but I'd rather not break my newly RMA'ed stuff. The mushkin power supply has 4x 20a 12v rails, but it appears to automatically determine whether they should be combined or split.
Speaking of the 12v rails. I noticed that the BIOS reports varying values for the 12v. I've seen it at 12.3v, 13.0v, 13.7v, and 14.0v. However, the dualcorecenter software in Windows always reports 12.2v - 12.3v. I have no idea which is accurate.

  • Mysterious random reboot with iPod Touch 3G running 3.1 firmware

    Hi everybody,
I ordered an iPod Touch which arrived last week, thinking that it would be the third best thing ever happened to my life (besides my girlfriend and my mac book pro). However it has been a big disappointment for me since the first day I used it.
I have been using the iPod for about a week now, and it randomly crashes and automatically reboots 5 or 6 times a day. I tried restoring it several times but to no avail. I also closely followed this post about random crashes with iPhone running 3.1 firmware (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2152619&start=0&tstart=0).
At first I thought this annoying bug is common for both iPhone and iPod touch user running 3.1. But it's weird that no other user using iPod touch is complaining about the problem. So I'm thinking this might be a hardware problem.
If you guys have any possible solution, or if you are using iPod Touch and have the same problem, please reply. I want to make sure before contacting Apple and exchange for a new one. By the way, it's totally unacceptable that:
    1. Apple didn't announce the problem and apologize to the users who are suffering and literally losing money everyday due to this bug
    2. Apple blocked the online support feature, I'm gonna have to arrange an appointment with them via phone, but the nearest apple support center is 2 hours away by car.
Thanks for reading and I hope there's a way to address this problem soon.

apparently... no.. it still occurs in the 3.1.2
i believe it has something to do with memory and the touch scroll. graphic? defect on the touch tech in the 3g? or am i just unlucky to pick that one?
... im gonna exchange or probably get my 280 bucks back from costco.
y the memory and touch scroll? memory failure most of the time result in sudden reboot to computer. (IPOD TOUCH AND IPHONES R MINI MINI COMP SO JUST GET U IF U WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT THIS) Touch screen really just... start the reboot... on my home page. scrolling back and forth and suddenly... scratchy statically-like screen and fades in dark and then silver apple pops up. same result on scrolling on youtube, safari, and other apps that requires u to scroll. ... im just hoping that i get the ipod touch 3g again and obtain a totally not defective one

  • Random Reboots with dual channel

    Hi,
I just bought yesterday the following system.
Intel P4 2.8 Northwood HP enabled
    MSI 865PE/Neo 2 Platinum Edition
    Maxtor Diamond Star 9 200 GB 8MB Cache 7200rpm
    Elixir 2x512MB DDR 400 CL3
    Toshiba DVD 16x
    Creative Geforce 4 Ti 4400 128MB
Logitech Cordless Keyboard connected and a logitech cordless optical mouse
    19 inch belinea monitor.
The power supply is a no name product LPK2-30 with the following specs.
    420W
    3.3V 28A
    +5V 36A
    -5V 0.5A
    +12V 17A
    -12V -0.8A
It says that is P4 ready, i know which does mean nothing
    Operating System:
    Windows XP Professional SP1
    All Hotfixes and Updates applied
Newest drivers for all the system parts
The errors during the windows crashes are irq not less or equal or page fault, which looks for me pretty much like a problem with the memory.
Ok what i tried so far.
Single channel with 512MB works fine.
Single channel with 1GB works fine except one strange thing restarting the machine and it got stuck during the bios loading worked fine after i pressed reset.
Dual channel 1/3 1 GB get random reboots.
Dual channel 2/4 1 GB even worse but i think at this point my newly installed died.
I tried to set memory voltage from 2.65 up to 2.8 but did not change the behaviour.
memtest with one modules in slot 1 no errors
memtest with dual channel 1/3 1 gb no errors running 30 minutes
i will try now a memtest with the second single module in memslot 3.
No MAT or dot ram settings are 3,3,3.
I am bit running out of ideasö
before i forget i updated the bios from 3.3 to 3.5 but did not change the problems.
Maybe you guys have some ideas what else can i try.
thx a lot in advance. i hope i provided all informations which are necessary.
    greetings faxe

    Hi,
i tried a few more things which make confident that i have the problem narrowed down to the memory.
i tried to install windows again with only using the third memory slot single channel and it worked fine.
now i tried to go down with the memory speed to ddr333 and using dual channel and so far that seems to work too.
so i think i will go for other memory.
if you think i am wrong please correct me
    greetings markus

  • Why does my Mac Pro randomly flash a blue screen to both monitors?

For a while now my Mac Pro (Early 2009) has this occasional issue. The system uses a pair of ViewSonic 22" monitors. At random times, both monitors just turn to a solid light blue color. After a brief time (1 to 5 seconds maybe) normal operation returns. The system is still working. Text typed on the keyboard during the 'blue' screen still shows in whatever application I'm in. Just the screen seems to be affected.
I leave the system running 24/7 with only occasional reboots (weeks or months apart). The screens I turn off at night. Most of the time this happens right after the system 'wakes' in the morning (temperature does not seem to be a factor). Although the system is doing this as I'm typing this. The blue screens show up than go away on their own. This repeats from one to ten times before it goes away. Once it is 'done' everything is normal until it happens again.
This 'issue' has been occurring since the original Snow Leopard. But, it also happened with Lion and now still happens with Mountain Lion (just upgraded to 10.8.2).
I am thinking this has something to do with the graphics controller (NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB). But, I've never found any online references to this sort of behavior.
Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

The cable connections have (so far) solved this problem for my situation. Even though the monitor's DVI cable was firmly connected to the mini Display port connector, when I touched it the attached monitor would go 'blue' or lose its connection entirely. After disconnecting and reconnecting this junction the monitors would still take a hit on touching the connection. I also checked the connection of the mini Display port connection to the graphics board and could not push it in any further. However, after a second go-round I unplugged this connection to the board and reconnected it. I am certain it was fully inserted the first time. But, connection contacts can oxidize over time and sometimes it may just need to be disconnected and reconnected to 're-wipe' the connections. This effectively cleans them at the point of contact. So in my case I'm thinking it was the connection age that was an issue more than a 'loose' connection. Either way, I haven't had this issue for the past two weeks.

  • Random Freezing and Blue Screen

    I have a 15'' Macbook Pro with a quad core i7 processor.
For months and months now my computer keeps on freezing, randomly (not related to having any particular program open) to a blank blue screen that does not go away.  The only way for me to un-freeze it is close the computer and re-start it or sometimes I have to hold down the power button and shut off the computer.  I've taken it to the apple store probably 5 times for this issue and because they are unable to replicate the issue in the store, they don't know what the issue is.  I had apple hardware test done, a 24-hour diagnostic, and my operating system completely re-installed done but my computer keeps on freezing blue.  Does anyone know why this is?

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

  • IOS 8.0.2 iPad Mini Retina restarts with Blue Screen

Hi, although some of them have been facing this 'blue screen restart issue' on iOS 8. I never really faced the issue when using iOS 8 but ever since I upgraded to 8.0.2 I have this issue now. My iPad Mini with Retina is restarting often followed after a blue screen. The iPad is also vulnerable to crashes and freeze after the iOS 8 upgrade. I am so frustrated coz I use my iPad for work and office.
Will Apple ever take notice of these issues and try to do something about it?
Please DO SOMETHING about it and get it fixed.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
