Iphoto 11 import problem. My camera is importing photos as 4x4. I see a single image in the preview window, but the import is 4x4. I just imported from a different camera and that one was OK. I can't find any setting to change to fix this problem

I am having a new problem in IPhoto'11. An older camera is importing photos as 4x4 (16 copies to a single image). In the preview pane the photos are fine (single copy per image). I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting but the problem repeats. Earlier I had a successful import from a different camera.
I can't find any settings to change this. Help!

Sorry but I do not understand your question
As to importing iPhoto simply copies the photos to the iPhoto llibrary - no changes of any sort are made

What happens if you try File->Open Recent? What happens if you have your operating system search all of your hard disks for files whose name ends with .LRCAT?

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to upadte your rescue email address for potential future use

However, I can't find any of the plug-ins which I have in CS6, such as Imagenomic Noiseware, Google NIK Collection, etc. in the CC version. How do I "migrate" the plug-ins to Ps CC? Plug-Ins are not Presets. You need to install Plug-in into CC just like you had to install Plug-ins into CS6.

Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Any work you do in Lightroom is in the catalog. It is impossible to use Lightroom without a catalog.
In addition, your photos are filed in a specific location, which is determined when you import the photos (this may be a location you have specified or it may be the default location chosen by Lightroom).
So ... unless you specifically choose to delete your photos, your photos have not been deleted. To find them, open Lightroom and select File->Open Recent and select each catalog shown there until you find the one with your 170 photos.
And now ... a word to the wise: as gvb279 and Keith said, you absolutely need to stop doing whatever it is you are doing and learn the basics of Lightroom. You are clearly in need of such basic understanding. We can't help you if you don't even know what you are installing. Never install anything if you do not know what it is. Installings through Software Update always have explanations which you should be reading to see if you actually need and/or want them.
That being said, it appears you attempted to upgrade to Mavarick. Although I am not positive.
Sorry, I am going to back out of this because I nor you know what it was you installed. Hopefully, someone else will chime in here.

try to press the sleep/wake button + home button at the same time and hold them until the apple logo appears. that should help.

You're welcome. As to checking speed go to http://speedtest.net/ and it will choose the closest server for you. BTW, whatever you do, don't click on the robot icon that says "Start Scan" or MacKeeper below that. Only use the speed test in the middle that has the button BEGIN TEST on it. It will run a download speed test first and then an upload speed test. The download test will give a much faster response.
