IPhoto keywords are not supported in iMovie Media Search?

Entering a search term in the Photo's tab in Media does not show any iPhoto pictures that have been taged with the Keyword that matches the search term? it only shows pictures that have the search term in the name o fthe file ...
If this is how it works then this is a serious bug or limitation - I took all the trouble to put keywords for my photos and now iMovie cant locate them based on the keyword?
Bye
AM

Yes, that would be the way to do it - but when Apple
is proudly bandying about the iLife integration -
this seems to be lacking.
Hmmm. I don't expect every iLife application to understand all features of the other iLife apps. That level of integration is too cumbersome to achieve, and very hard to maintain.
So long as iMovie is smart enough to "see" the Smart Album we've created in iPhoto, we can use our own brains to achieve the same result as being able to search keywords in iMovie. That's a smart kind of integration. Typical of Apple, the iPhoto software has features that allow us to extend its reach into the iMovie space.

    How do I get video from my iPhone to iMovie? The videos download to iPhoto, but are not "available" in iMovie when I select iPhoto in event library.

    I haven't launched iMovie in a while, and I've used iPhoto to import many videos from my iPhone's Camera Roll since the last time I launched and used iMovie.
    iMovie prompted me to create/update the thumbnails for my iPhoto videos, along with indicating no iPhoto videos will be available with iMovie until this is completed.
    Not sure how to do this manually, but this may be your problem.

  • Iphoto keywords are not assigned and do not appear in the info.

    Until recently I was able to very easily apply my own keywords to my photos.  Now, when I go thru the same/similar proces of selecting multiple photos and start assigning keywords, the keywords list is found and finds the words as I type, when I hit enter, it flashes and does not assign a keyword to the photo.
    I am using iphoto 11 9.3
    Help please

    Try using the Keyword pane to assign keywords to single or multiple photos.  Select the photos, bring up the keyword pane open (Command+K) and click on the keywords you want to assign:
    Assigned keywords to those photos will display blue.
    This may only be a workaround but, IMO, it's a more efficient way to assign keywords.

  • Movies in iPhoto are not showing in iMovie clips

    I have movies in iPhoto that are not showing in the video clips to select for iMovie.  Is there anywhere I can export them so I can grab them for my movie?

    he iPhoto Videos do occasionally have problems. I've seen a lot of people write messages to this Discussion group describing similar problems. The only thing that seems to get around this problem is to pull the video clips out of iPhoto then import them directly into iMovie. Once the troubles with iPhoto Videos starts, I haven't yet seen anyone write back with something that they did to fix it.
    The most difficult part of doing this is the movies in iPhoto might be a little difficult to track down. But you can create a smart alum that does that for you. Go to iPhoto > File Menu > New Smart Album:
    Set the first pulldown menu to keyword, second to contains, then in the last box type Movie with a capital 'M'. Then click OK. This smart album more or less does as search of the whole iPhoto Library and only displays items that match your search tearm of "Movie" exactly. In that smart album then you can find the original Movies you want to move out of iPhoto and into iMovie, <CTRL> click on the Movie clip, then choose Reveal in Finder. That will jump you out of iPhoto temporarily and into the iPhoto Library folder. From there you can move that movie file to the desktop. Move all the clips you want, once they're all collected up go to iMovie and go to the File Menu > Import Files. Then point it to the desktop where you moved your video clips.
    This will put all those videos into an Event folder in iMovie and bypass iPhoto Videos altogether.

  • "one or more of the items in your selection contains Aperture albums that are not supported in iphoto".

    I have some folders in iPhoto called 'Recovered Folder'. When I try to delete them I get this message: "one or more of the items in your selection contains Aperture albums that are not supported in iphoto".
    I don't use Aperture (did install it to try it out), and have deleted Aperture App from my Mac.
    How can I get rid of these fodlers?

    i finally figured this out:
    fyi, iphoto and aperture can now share (i.e., access) the same library. apple details it here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5260?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    i use both iphoto and aperture, and i suspect something went amiss, at some point, while aperture was accessing my iphoto library.
    this is how i fixed the problem:
    i launched aperture, then (per the instructions linked above) switched to (i.e., accessed) my iphoto library. i was then able to delete the "recovered folder" and the album it contained. i then quit aperture and relaunched iphoto.
    NOTE: at that time, although i expected the "recovered folder" to be gone, it was still present. but this time, i was able to delete the folder from within iphoto without the "contains aperture items" error message.
    (Sparky030405, i realize you've since deleted aperture. while i can't say my method is the *only* way to solve this problem, it's the way i was able to solve it. so, you might consider reinstalling aperture in order to delete the folder, then uninstalling aperture, once again.)

    My iPhoto videos are not showing up in iMovie? I have quit, shut down my Mac and they still are not showing up? What can I do to resolve this?

    It is also posible to go back to the imovie you had before, it is still on your computer - you go to Finder and it is in a folder in your programs. Many others have gone back to the old program, and perhaps I am also going to do that too.
    In the new imovie it does not come up the question "do you want to download these videos ...."
    You shall in imovie open your iphotolibrary in top on the left side,( it is standing under libraries) and  you can see all the events you have in iphoto, then you can open the event, you shall use and drag the movies and pictures from the events in iphoto to an events in imovie. If you can,t see your libraries, you can click on a show button on top of the left side.
    On the picture you see here iphoto is market on the top of the left side and the pictures to the left is my iphoto-events - and there I can open the one I shall use, and find my movies.

  • Restoring iPhoto from Time Machine. However iPhoto albums are not transfer

    iPhoto albums are not transferring. I just have a bunch of photos with no albums/details/comments etc. I have done a few searches in support and have found similar problems but nothing like mine, which seems to be that I have a back up of all my photos in Time Machine but when I open Time Machine, I cannot simply select a previous restore date as I have been able to with everything else so far. I have tried dragging the whole iPhoto Library folder to iPhoto but again, end up with thousands of pictures with no albums... Any suggestions? Thanks.
    It seems iPhoto is backed up but does not have several backups in Time Machine.

    I think you may need to post this one on the Time Machine forum.
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1227
    In later versions you can restore +to the iPhoto Library+, but as v6 predates Time Machine it's not possible to do that. Hence you need to restore an entire Library and open it.

      based on selected value in cmbDoman , cmbSubDoamin has to fill.

    In sercive I have two methods like bellow.
    //for Domain
    public IQueryable<DomainGroup> GetDomainGroups()
    return this.ObjectContext.DomainGroups;
    // for SubDoamin
    public IQueryable<Domain> GetDomains()
    return this.ObjectContext.Domains;
    //for subdomain based on selected value in Domain
    public IQueryable<Domain> GetDomains(string selectedDomain)
    return this.ObjectContext.Domains.Where(x => x.Title.ToUpper() == selectedDomain.ToUpper());

    <riaControls:DomainDataSource x:Name="source" QueryName="GetDomainGroups" AutoLoad="True"> <riaControls:DomainDataSource.DomainContext>
    <domain:DomainService1/> </riaControls:DomainDataSource.DomainContext>
    </riaControls:DomainDataSource>

     if any one help it could be a great support for me .

    You can't use overloads.
    You need to rename one of your GetDomains:
    public IQueryable<Domain> GetDomains()
    return this.ObjectContext.Domains;
    //for subdomain based on selected value in Domain
    public IQueryable<Domain> GetDomains(string selectedDomain)
    return this.ObjectContext.Domains.Where(x => x.Title.ToUpper() == selectedDomain.ToUpper());

    General Rules for using Inheritance
    The following rules apply to using inheritance with RIA Services.
    Inheritance is supported only for entity types. Non-entity types are treated as the type specified in the domain service operation signature.
    Interface types are not supported for return values or parameters in domain service operations.
    The set of types in an inheritance hierarchy must be known at the time of code generation. The behavior for returning a type not specified at the time of code generation is unspecified and implementation-dependent.
    The virtual modifier on public properties and fields for an entity type is permitted but ignored when generating the corresponding entity type on the client.
    Method overloads for domain service operations are not permitted.
    The new (C#) and Shadows (Visual Basic) keywords on public properties are not allowed on entity types and will result in an error when client code is generated.
    LINQ query capabilities related to inheritance cannot be translated for execution of domain service methods. Specifically,
    OfType<T>, is,
    as, and GetType() operators and methods are not supported.  However, these operators may be used directly against
    EntitySet or

    Why are keywords are not showing, all other functions and metadata seem fine

    LarryHN - Thanks for jerking me back to reality. I've been using iPhoto since 2001, I have over 14,000 images in the file, I use facial recognition, Places, folders, keywords and Events (did I leave anything out?).   I installed Lion a couple months ago, I'm running iPhoto '11, version 9.2.1 and I'm not getting any error messages. When I click on View, Keywords I expect to see little boxes under each image with one or more Keywords in it.  If I click on View, Info I can see the keywords in the sidebar but they never appear in the main window.

    I am trying to load OS 2000.4.3(a) for an MCS-7825-H2-IPC1 and keep getting ?The installation program has determined that this server is not supported by this media.? Upon closer investigation, it appears we got sent software part # CM4.2-K9-7825-I2 - evidently for a 7825-I2. Can anyone verify that the I2 OS DVD is indeed not compatible with the H2 server? Any way around this, without waiting for a reshipment?

    You need CD with part number CM4.2-K9-7825-H2
    They are not compatible.

  • Error message: "FireWire connections are not supported.  To transfer songs"

    I recently purchased a Monster iCarPlay to play my ipod in my car. I have had no problems until recently. Upon disconnecting my ipod from the iCarPlay wire, I the following message popped up: "FireWire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided." It also prompts me to click the center button to dismiss the message. However, I'vd followed these instructions, and the message does not go away. Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this problem? Or is it anything to worry about?

    That is the message you see when you attach a 5th gen iPod to a computer using FIREWIRE. so... i suspect that for some reason, the 3rd party iCarPlay device must be confusing the iPod into thinking it is being docked or attached to a data line of some type and not simply charging.
    As for the sudden occurrence of the message, it does seem strange however, keep in mind that you are using a 3rd party device that may not be supported or endorsed by Apple at all.
