IPhoto quits/crashes unexpectedly in the middle of use

Hi guys,
Last night I was using iPhoto to edit some images and everything is going fine. In the middle of editing iPhoto suddenly freezes up and and then suddenly closes (sometimes closing and going staright to the desktop or sometimes closing and immediately going to a white screen) and then prompts the "unexpected closure" message. So I click reopen iPhoto and resuming what I was doing and then does the exact same thing as stated above. It did this four times last night and is becoming very annoying so any help that could be provided would be really appreciated. Thank you

Assuming you're running iPhoto 9 (11) apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything! It used to crash when importing but now I'm at the point where I open the software and after 2 seconds it crashes (nothing connected either). What to do? Can't access any photos

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create a new library and import some test photos then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.

If iPhoto crashes while trying to create a new library then try this:

1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that fails to help a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all relavant updaters.
P.S. If you're still running Tiger, 10.4.6, then the above may not apply. If you're running a newer system you should update your profile so we have a better idea of where you're at.

You might check and see if there are any Console entries about what happened when you attempted to launch a CS 5.5 app.
Adobe links its apps with the particular volume on which it is running, and altho' I can't recall specifics, I know in the past I have had to reset Adobe's settings after OS upgrade. I do recall that it's a fairly easy procedure; just don't exactly recall what it is.
BTW, CS 4 runs on Mountain Lion for me.

Unfortunately, this message is almost always an indication that the internal AirPort card on the Mac has failed and will need to be replaced. This is a job for repair shop.

Is your signature still current?(iPhoto '08, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)) I can confirm this for iPhoto '11; Shatter will only show the text slide title between the slides. Ken Burns and Classic theme can still be set to overlay the caption and title directly over the slides.

Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

IPod Auto-Locks in the Middle of Use

My iPod Touch has begun to auto-lock while i'm in the middle of using an application. This is even after I've changed the auto-lock setting to 'Never'. When I'm playing music and using an app, the screen auto-locks with the music still playing.
I've Reset my iPod Touch, but that did not seem to help. Should I back-up everything and Restore my device?

I am having the same issue with my ipad2 ever since I upgraded to iOS 5. My settings are set the never lock. It even locks when I'm in THE MIDDLE OF TYPING AN EMAIL.....! Unreal
In addition, the notification center flashes and is all jumpy on all of my devices that I have connected to the enterprise. Flashes so much that. Cannt even get it to go back up... Very frustrating. Have to be bugs...

Firefox continues to crash unexpectedly. The report mesage suggests that the information I send will help Firefox to cure the problem but I never hear anything from them. How is someone who isn't a computer geek supposed to solve this problem?

Just how is someone who isn't a computer geek able to understand all the detailed discussions from other users. My Firefox is completely up to date. It's Shaunn, the original poster. Thanks for your posting. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's having this problem.
Now that you mention it, I'm having the exact same problem on Facebook as well, when I play Family Feud.
I wish someone would investigate and post a solution to this problem. No-one from Playlist has responded, and no-one "Officially" from Firefox either.

What are you considering non responsive with the plugins? Flash player is working just fine then I get your crash page in the middle of doing something. You say it only crashes when it's been unresponsive for 45 seconds. Mine is crashing in less then 1

I have had problems with firefox crashing for the last three month. I have updated to the latest version with the crash protection. Now the flash player crashes about every 20 minutes or so. On your blog page you state that I will get the crash page when the plugin has been non-responsive for 45 seconds well with mine the games are going along just fine then wham crash page. Flash player was responding and you gave me crash report anyway. What's up???? Flash player is crashing within seconds not 45 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting increasingly frequent system shutdown with appearance of the apple splash screen for several minutes then back to logon in the middle of using a variety of APPs or just walking on Safari.

Using an IPAD 2 running 5.0.1 is frequently shutting down in the middle of a variety of Apps and showing the Apple splash screen for several minutes. This happens occasionally at inopportune times. Once the splash screen clears it goes back to the logon screen and the App that was open is closed. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a resolution?

It appears as though your apps are crashing. Have you tried quitting apps and restarting? Reset the iPad?
Quit all apps and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Ipad goes back to start screen in the middle of using apps or playing games.

My iPad mini apps have been stopping in the middle of games or reading, it just stops and goes back to the home screen. I also am having trouble downloading successfully from cloud.
