IPod keeps restarting :(....HELP pliz
itunes wont see it...now it keeps restarting so i cant even apply factory settings....what do i do ????
I just returned my ipod for warranty. Here's my story. Brand new 80 video ipod. Connected it to my computer and everything was fine with itunes. Then the battery ran out because it wasn't charging. Started reseting on it's own all night but never charged. Plugged it in to a wall charger and it charged fine. But as soon as I would unplug it the battery would run out. I left it on the wall charger for 8 hours and the same result. Says it's fully charged but then low battery as soon as I would disconnect it. So I called apple on the 6th, I received a box on the 7th, they got my ipod on the 8th, diagnosed on the 9th, and today I have a "Product Replacement Pending" which I think means they are sending me a new one. So if you are having the same problem, Call Apple!

PLEASE HELP ME! My iPod keeps restarting, or turning off, I'm not sure which, but when it does that then it shows the Apple Logo, it will go to the main screen for maybe 1 second, but then it does this cycle over again. It stared lagging at first. It has been doing this for a while now about (almost an hour). It is also unresponsive, I and tried holding down the home and power buttons, but it didn't work. I plugged it in to iTunes and it said it couldn't connect to it and gave me the code 0xE8000024. I have no idea what to do. Oh and I havn't dropped it or anything, I have taken very good care of it. I JUST got it today. I am restoring it right now but as its plugged in it keeps rstarting and showing the Apple logo. Please help!

Ipod keep restarting itselt. HELP!
my ipod keep restarting starting after a few second. i try resetting and re install the software. i don't know what's wrong with it. is it defected? i just got this two days ago. i have latest version of ipod color 60GB pc+mac.
reset isn't doing anything
I guess it could be the firewire but i kind of ruled it out because the ipod only repeatedly restarts when its connected to the firewire. Thanks! -
I have had this problem for a few days now. My Ipod keeps restarting when it tries to play a song. I've tried to reset the factory settings, and I've tried to format everything manually, but nothing has worked.
It happens when trying to play a song. Also happens when switching Songs clicking the wheel. It also restarts when the Nano is playing "Music Quiz".
I've tried almost everything to fix it.

My Ipod keeps restarting and showing the Apple Logo over and over....
PLEASE HELP ME!!!! My Ipod keeps restarting, or turning off, I'm not sure which, but when it does that then it shows the Apple Logo, it will go to the main screen for maybe 1 second, but then it does this cycle over again. It has been doing this for a while now. It is also unresponsive, I and tried the R things but they didn't work either. I have tried plugging it up and it hasnt helped, I have no idea what to do. Oh and I havn't dropped it or anything, I have taken very good care of it. The only thing I can think of that ould be wrong with it is that my Dad had it plugged into his car radio, he says it started doing this action while it was plugged up to that, but I have no proof of that. He also plugged it into his computer, which has none of the Itunes software on it, to try to download my songs onto his computer, he says all the songs copied to his computer just fine. I plugged the Ipod into my Ihome and it froze up, when it unfroze I saw that I had all of my songs, but then it started to Turn off and show the Apple Logo. If you have any suggestions please contact me!!!!

nach 3 Wochen funktioniert es wieder-I fixed it, after 3 weeks
sorry, but I am not able to tell you what the problem was
I did not change anything with Vista but it works now. Though I think the failure occured because of one of the Apple products.
Schritt für Schritt / step by step
1. iPod auswerfen / diconnect your iPod
2. holen Sie sich alle wichtigen Windowsupdates/
update your windows
download iTunes again, but don't install it.
deinstall all Apple-software
(I use only the software wich comes together with iTunes. I don't use safari. You might deinstall it as well, if you use it on a PC)
Connect your iPod.
Without iTunes the struggle between windows and iTunes was over.
As long as iTunes was installed and a iPod was connected I got a notice of a failure from iTunes and windows. both of them disconnected the iPod. Now windows kept the iPod an I was able to format it, then I disconnected it.
I drove down the computer and turned it on again after a few hours. (Is it necessary to wait a few hours? I don't know. I mention it only)
7. Installieren Sie iTunes / install iTunes
8. starten Sie iTunes / start iTunes
9. verbinden Sie den iPod mit dem Computer / connect your iPod with your PC
In my case there were no further messages of a failure. I got music, movies and audiobooks on my daughters iPod.
Interessieren würde mich schon, warum ein System plötzlich spinnt, obwohl ich "außer" updates nichts verändert hatte.

My ipod keeps restarting, what is wrong with it?
my ipod keeps restarting and deleting music, what is wrong with it?
Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
I'm trying to transfer my purchases but my ipod keeps restarting
When I transferred my purchases, it only transferred about 40 songs and then my ipod restarted itself. I need to figure out how to get my apps and songs on to my new computer. When i go to sync my apps, it says it will replace everything with the few apps that I have on my computer. My Ipod keeps restarting itself and will not let me transfer anything to my computer.
Hello Lori,
Does your iPod appear in iTunes? Do you have it set up to sync music from under the iPod's music tab? Perhaps this support article can be of assistance.

Ipod keeps restarting automatically
i recently put a 1gb file onto my ipod to use it as a usb drive to transport the file from one computer to another, and ever since i disconnected my ipod, every time i turn it on, it turns on, restarts, and keeps restarting until the battery runs out and it dies. i realize that i can format the ipod, but i would rather wait until i see if there is any other way of fixing this problem b/c formatting and putting everything back on my ipod takes about 4 hours. [i dont have a usb 2.0 drive]
Sai,
I respectfully suggest that you lose that attitude if you want anyone to reply to this post at all.
This is a user to user forum, and no one who posts here is an Apple employee, we are users just like yourself who take the time and trouble to spend time here out of our own free will, and we do it to help other users.
There are probably no replies to your query because no one knows why your iPod automatically pauses in the manner you describe. I gave a suggestion earlier (a cause which I might add others have experienced), but you were adamant that wasn't the case.
Instead of coming here swearing at us, have you used the search facility to look for any posts which might concern your issue? -
My iPod keeps restarting itself when I choose a song! Whats going on?!
My iPod Classic 5th generation 30GB keeps restarting itself when I choose a song! I recently restored it (which helped with another problem), and I put all of my songs back onto it, but then when I went to go play a song, it just restarted itself! So I tried again, and it just did it again. No matter what song I choose, it will restart itself. So I went onto the support site and it told me to try toggling the hold switch a few times and then hold the menu and center buttons together to restart it. I did this and I thought it was going to work (I got it to play 3 songs!!), but then again...it restarts itself. I have to repeat this everytime I want to listen to a song, and even then it's not guaranteed to work. Needless to say, I'm getting a little frustrated! Any solutions?! PLEASE HELP!!! I need my music
See Corrupt iPod classic.
If the device's database is stored somewhere that cannot be reliably read back then it appears as an empty device.

5th Generation iPod keeps restarting itself
When I play a song on my ipod it keeps restarting itself. I restore my ipod with itunes and it still does the samething. Is there something I can do?
Apple need to fix this problem why the **** would I fork out good money for a Mac when they cant even get an ipod right? This is my 4th ipod I have the same probs everyone has listed on this site and many others , Im really not happy to say the least.
I SHALL NOT BUY ANOTHER iPROB EVER AGAIN ! -
Ipod keeps restarting on its own
I just plugged my ipod into my PC, and it just keeps restarting over and over again. The apple symbol comes up and looks good, then goes dark and restarts again. Then sometimes it gets to the menu and shows the do not disconnect logo, but then restarts immediatly. It did this all night long...hours and hours....what do I do?
Take a look at the article I provided a link to in my first post. Make sure your Hold switch is set to off, and try resetting your iPod a few more times. If your computer detects your iPod, try a restore with the latest iPod Updater (version 1.1.1). If your computer doesn't detect the iPod, try forcing it into disk mode.
If the problem persists, you may have to contact Apple. -
My ipod keeps restarting and i can't find anything online to fix it.
I was using my ipod touch 4g today and it was being slow and freezing a little, so restarted it. That usually works but this time for some reason my ipod didnt get past the apple logo and it just keeps restarting.Anything i can do? I've seen people fix it on youtube, but they all require the use of the home button, and mine is broken. Is there any other way to fix it? And if not, will apple replace it? It's not jailbroken or anything. Thanks and advance.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use one of these programs:
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Incorrect RAM (iMacs are extremely sensitive to this)
Failed RAM
Unseated RAM
Please removed the upgraded RAM that was added to the machine and then retest. If the machine works OK, that confirms it's a RAM issue.
On these forums the experienced users tend to all agree that RAM should come from a reputable supplier such as OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial.
