Ipod mini or nano isnt recognized

Ive tried to reinstall itunes software and plug the ipods in with different cables. You can't restore it either because its not recognized with the usb cable. What should I do? Thanks

I'm having the same problem with my Nano which I brought only earlier today! I came home and installed everything and it kept on coming up with the folder and the exclamation mark icon so I went through the 5 R's and installed iTunes 7 cos it recommended it and now the computer isn't even recognising the iPod!!! I don't know why so many people are having this problem - and why is Apple selling such a s* product????? If I knew it was going to be like this I wouldn't have wasted my money on it!

Old iPod mini can't be recognized after formatting, and iTunes 'Apple Mobile Device Driver not found.'

My roommate gave me an old iPod Mini a few days ago. It was working fine 'til I plugged it into my computer and it asked me to format it. I did, and now it cannot be recognized by iTunes or my computer. My computer views it as a "removable disk" which cannot be accessed. In devices, it is listed as an Apple iPod though, so I'm hoping not all is lost. I have tried many quick fixes I've read on internet (including changing disk letter) but to no avail. I have reinstalled the new iTunes and now that is telling me it has not installed properly, and when I ran diagnostics, it reads that the Apple Mobile Device Driver not found. I will copy & paste all the info from the diagnostic run below, and if anybody can help me with my new (old) iPod, I'd be everly greatful!

OMG same thing here; rather annoyed and now have set up accounts on 2 comps(both 64 vista ultimate); about to try my 32 bit vista on my lappy; we'll see... i don;t have high hopes thoush.

IPod Mini 4gb driver not recognized

iPod Mini 4gb give error when connecting to XP/Vista/Windows7 USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED OR MALFUNCTIONED. iPod software is loaded, when I try to upgrade to upgrader 2005-02-07 (which is what was on the iPod software) I get error: Invalid iPOD service version. I updated iTunes to 9.2 which was Apple's suggestion on their web page. It worked fine when I plugged it into same computer about 6 months ago to add new songs. HELP!! know it is old, but do not want to buy a new one...this one works great.

Transfer music from ipod mini to NANO??

hi, as the title states, I recently got the new ipod nano 4gb product. I have an old ipod mini which has all my songs on, on my laptop i have got my itunes with the songs that are currently on my ipod mini, when i connect my ipod NANO is it possible to use the same itunes and just upload the songs onto my nano?
if not how can i achieve this?

Need help with transferring from ipod mini to nano!

I own an iPod mini and just went and bought an iPod nano and am wondering how to transfer the music from my mini onto my nano. This may seem like a dumb question but I'm not finding a way in iTunes to do it. Thanks for help in advance

IPods are designed to transfer music in a one way fashion. Meaning, iPods can only have music transferred to them via iTunes, not vice versa. So, in your case, where the iPod mini has your music on its memory, you will be unable to transfer the actual music back to the computer. Hopefully, you have the music from the iPod mini stored on your computer or on some flash drive to be able to import the same music to the iPod nano. I am assuming that this is the case, your music being on iTunes, else other implications would have occurred in updating the iPod mini. Put simply, you need to have your music solely on iTunes and transfer from there to the iPod nano. Hopefully this helps.

You may need to update iTunes to work with the second generation nano; updating iTunes will not erase anything from your library, and it will continue to work with the iPod mini.

Help me please my new ipod 3rd gen. nano isnt workign correctly!

okay so i just bought the new Ipod nano 3rd gen. (green) and SOMETIMES when i turn my Ipod off and turn it on again.... but lately it is stuck like this! i cannot listen to the sound but ands the track isn't playing on the screen and i check the volume, earbud connections and nothing..... like my music or videos won't play... viedos are black screen with no sound. and songs i can browse and looks liek song it playing but screen isnt playing (numbers don't move) and no sound.....what can i do?
should i try to get a new ipod because mine is only 10 days old!?

I'd suggest first resetting the iPod (check the online manual for that) and then restoring the latest software using iTunes.

TS1538 I have the new version of itunes and my ipad, my daughters ipod touch and her ipod mini are not being recognized when we plug in to itunes

I want to sync my iPad and when I plug the USB cable to it, itunes doesn't recognize it. I have the latest itunes version, I've turned off and turn back on my iPad, I've shutdown and restarted my computer a few times. I just bought a few tv shows and it just won't sync. I was able to sync my old iPod touch, but my daughters new iPod touch is not reconized and neither is her new iPad mini.

If you have the songs in iTunes then your new iPod will load those up. However if the songs are only on the Mini then you would have to return them to your computer, you can't transfer directly from one iPod to another.

Problem with ipod mini and nano hooked on same computer

Last year I bought a mini and hooked it up to my computer. It works great. So great that I decided to buy a nano recently. The problem is...When I hooked up the nano to the same computer, I was unable to create or add playlists, and Itunes simply took some of my library from the mini and added it to my nano. The software that came with the nano won't install either because I have a previously installed version of Itunes. Anybody with more than one Ipod who can help me with this problem?? I just went to the apple store and the guru erased everything off my nano and guaranteed this would fix the problem. I came back, re-downloaded iTunes and plugged by nano in. Still NOTHING! And now I have no music on there to listen to. Please help!

My ipod touch 1g 8GB doesnt turn on unless it is connected to power, but then it only shows the apple logo for 10-15 secs then turns off and does it again. I connected it to many computers, but it wont be recognised even in recovery mode. What should i do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
