I have ipod touch version 2.2.1 so i wanted to update my ipod version so i bought the update form the internet so i download the update but it not showing me the instullation botton. and when i press on downlad list it show me that there is an unkown error no. (3036) so i spend 5 doller and nothing happened so could please help me with that
my ipod serial no. 9C917MQY208

I had the same problem... but because it was happening on all four of my computers, they couldn't blame just one device. Contact iTunes support:
http://www.apple.com/emea/support/contact/itunes/phone_contacts/
Tell them that someone else with the same problem got it solved when they (iTunes) found two "unknown downloads" that were clogging my connection to iTunes. Once they deleted those files, my uploading of apps and downloading of subscription episodes resumed.

my ipod touch doesnot show the software update

An iPod touch will not have the software update feature unless it's running iOS 5 or later. To upgrade any earlier version, you have to connect the iPod to iTunes on your computer.
Note that a first-generation iPod touch can only run up through iOS 3.1.3, the 2nd-gen iPod touch up through iOS 4.2.1, and the 3rd-generation unit up though iOS 5.1.1.

  • I have an Ipod touch and the latest software update was installed but it seems to be stuck on the IOS6 screen and I can not go anyfurther

I have an Ipod Tocuh which just had a software update to it.  The screen is stuck on the IOS6 screen an I can not go any further.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.

  • When restoring or updating any iPod touch: "...the software update server cannot be contacted."

When I try to update or restore any iPod touch on my MacBook (year 2007, 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.4), it puts the iPod into recovery mode and gives an error: "The iPod "iPod" cannot be restored at this time because the iPod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable."  This happens after it extracts the software and says "Verifying update with Apple."  Also, the first time I try an update, it gives error code 3004, but it still puts me in recovery mode and when I try restoring it from that it gives the error I posted above.

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.

    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • IPod touch 5th generation iOS 8 update problem

I have an iPod touch 5th generation with 32GB. This morning I started the ios8 update. Everything was going fine for a while, but now it's like it's stuck. The bar indicating how close it is to being done is almost full, but it's been like that for hours. I can't turn it off or do anything else.
Even if it's because I don't have enough memory, shouldn't I be able to cancel it or something? I didn't have this problem with the last update so I have no idea what is going on or how to fix it.

    No.
Looks like yours could be a 2nd Gen... If so... iOS 4,2,1 is as far as it can go

  • TS1424 Is anyone else unable to search the App Store from iPod Touch 4G since the software update?

Every time I go to the App Store since the update yesterday, it crashes after a few moments and drops me back at the home screen. Any advice?

Today I see lots of other people are having similar issues, but I'm not seeing any replies. I contacted apple, and the rep said to look here of call tech support. This sounds to me like a real problem that is addressing many users and needs to be officially addressed.

  • HT4623 My iPod touch does not say software update how do I update it?

How do I update my iPod touch

  • I just updated my Ipod touch to the newest software and now I can not get any of my songs to sync onto my Ipod. All of my songs were wiped from my Ipod but are still in my library and playlists on my computer, but when I click sync none of it works

So I updated my Ipod touch to the newest software on my pc laptop which is windows 7. The software update wiped all of my songs and apps off of my Ipod. This is not that big of a deal because the songs and apps are still in my library and apps folder in itunes on my computer. The problem is, when I go to sync all my songs and apps back onto my ipod the tracks and apps are not syncing. It's almost as if the computer thinks all the songs are still already on the ipod but they are not. What do I do here?

    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next, restore from backup.

  • When connecting my iPhone or iPod touch to my laptop to update software, the software downloads to my laptop but when it goes to install I get an error message that says network timed out.  Any advice here please?

For the past 2-3 months everytime I connect my iPhone or iPod touch to my laptop to update the software through itunes I have issues.  I have tried download and install option and the download only option.  When the progress bar gets to 100 % downloading and switches to start to install I get an error message that says something like connection issue/timed out/network something.  My internet is working so what am I doing wrong when I didn't used to have this problem?

I've been getting timed out for 2 days now, what finally worked for me was not plugging the phone into the computer and just doing the update through my wifi, worked perfectly, took less than 15 minutes

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.
