IPod Touch 5th Gen w/iOS 7.0.2 - Delayed 'Passcode' Lock Entry Issue

Hi,
This evening I've updated my iPod Touch 5th Gen from iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7.0.2 via the 'Over the Air' method, which went well initialy.
Following using the device, upgrading all of the apps and performing a couple of backups to iCloud, I have noticed that there is an issue with entering of the 'Passcode Lock' code to unlock the device.  There is a 25 to 30 second delay in me pressing a digit key on the 'Unlock' screen and the screen registering that I've entered a key.  Has anyone else experienced this?
I assume that this is an issue brought about due to the security fix that has been implemented within the iOS 7.0.2 update.  I am about to submit a Bug Report to Apple regarding this.
At present, I have upgrading both of my iPhone 4S and the iPad 3rd Gen devices to iOS 7.0 and they experience no issues at all - working fine.  I guess I will hold off upgrading these two devices at the moment.

I've been playing with the iPod, namely attempting to type text - all applications are affected.  I hadn't been typing text when I was playing with it.  I think the keyboard libraries have been corrupted.
I have updated tge Bug Report and will plan to wipe and restore device using iTunes 11.1.  If this is successfull, will use the same approach for the other devices.

Along the bottom of the health app on my iPod touch 5th gen running iOS 8 I am missing the "medical id" that should be the 4th icon on the lower right of the screen

You can't seriously believe users would be *that* idiotic, even on a sue-happy country like the US… And while Apple could get sued, it's not like Apple Legal would lose a case like that; for someone to die in the first place *because of the iPod Touch*, first-responders (be them regular bystanders or medical professionals) would have to be stupid enough to believe they could use it to make calls and not try doing that using instead, duh, a regular phone that they would likely be carrying with them anyway, and for Apple to be in the least bit accountable, the interface would have to misdirect them and make them believe they could in the first place.
Except it doesn't. It never did. The iOS interface, on the iPod Touch, has no references whatsoever to calling functions, be they regular or emergency-related. If you tap a phone number detected by smart filters, you can't dial it (I believe you're offered the option to save it on the Address Book, though), and on the lock screen, there is no “Emergency Call” function (nor would there be such a function on the Health ID page, either). So… I fail to see your point.
And you can't seriously believe Apple would risk, on purpose, a lawsuit by the family of someone who, having both an iPhone *and* an iPod Touch (not very likely, I know, but please bear with me) dies because s/he is carrying only the iPod Touch and unwittingly (but understandably) expects *all* Health and the potentially *life-saving* Health ID info to sync across devices via iCloud.
Nope, this is an oversight by Apple devs, and a massive one at that.
P.S.: A massive legal/functional disclaimer, such as “Warning: This device cannot connect to the cellular network. For emergency calls please use an appropriate device” or something along those lines would pretty much exempt them from any legal responsibility, while still enabling a life-saving feature.

  • IPod Touch (5th Gen) and iOS 6.0.1 Update

I'm having some problems with upgrading my iPod Touch (5th Gen) to iOS 6.0.1.
The iPod is currently stuck in the mode where it shows the connect to iTunes symbol. When I connect to it to iTunes on my MacBook Pro, I am asked to 'Restore and Update' which I click. The update file downloads, but as soon as it completes, it disappears and never installs. I then have no choice but to start again which results in exactly the same problem. I don't seem to be able to restore the iPod without downloading the latest software.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer

  • I recently upgraded my iPod touch 5th gen to iOS 7.1, and now whenever I open up my gamecenter, the "friends" and "games" tab never stop loading, and it also won't log in when I play games that use gamecenter. What can I do to fix this issue?

I have already tried turning the power off and back on, holding the home and power button for ten seconds and shutting it off that way, and disconnecting from the wifi. None if those fixed the problem. However, resetting all of the settings did actually fix this issue, but then when I turn the ipod off and on again the issue is back. I don't want to have to keep resetting the settings on a daily basis, so what else can I do to fix this bug? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • IPod touch (5th Gen) will not work in my 2013 GMC when connected via USB since I upgraded to iOS 8.2

I recently updated my iPod touch 5th Gen to iOS 8.2.  I use it to play music in my 2013 GMC via USB connection.  Now, when my vehicle's system "detects" my device, it starts playing the song and after about two seconds it just quits.  Help, please.

Sometimes this works but sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility, Fir the latter you have to wait for an update to the iOS or the firmware for the car system

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen iOS 6 Updates Screen is Blank (White)

The indicator verifies that I have 15 Updates but my iPod Touch 5th Gen w/ iOS 6 just started showing a blank white screen for the updates screen.
I've tried powering off and back on, resetting (pushing both buttons for 10 seconds), syncing, transferring purchases, and the wifi reset trick, but none of these things makes any difference to the issue.
I saw thousands of posts in various forums that this has been affecting people for over a year.  Someone must have found a fix by now that works.  This is a new problem to me, but chances are the real fix will work if someone can share it.  Any one know?  Thanks!

  • IPod touch 5th gen won't accept wifi password

My daughter just got her iPod touch 5th gen 32GB (iOS 8.1.1) for x-mas and has had no problems connecting to our wifi until yesterday. It sees the wifi but when we ask to join, all of a sudden, it says "Incorrect Password for (wifi name)... " but i know it is correct.  I've tried to enter it dozens of times but no luck.  I've also asked other people to enter it but no luck there either.  All of our other devices can connect with no problem so I know its really not the password despite the message.  Our other daughter got an identical iPod touch at x-mas also and she hasn't had any problems connecting on her device.
I have tried to reset the network settings twice now. I have also forgotten the network & tried to rejoin multiple times - no luck.  I've noticed none of the router or IP settings are showing on the device, even though that info does show on my iPhone 5s while its not connected.  It's like it see's the wifi but it's not receiving any info.
    Please help!

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tends to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Ipod touch 5th gen steering wheel controls

    Hi,
I have an Ipod touch 5th gen running ios 7.1.1 and a Pioneer x3600dab car stereo.
I cannot change track using my steering wheel.  Volume works.
This is the same with Bluetooth connection and direct via USB.
Has anyone found a work around for this issue?  I know the track change works because elsewhere on the stereo unit the buttons work.

  • Problems after iOS 7.1.2 on Ipod Touch 5th Gen

At about 3 hours ago my Ipod Touch 5th Gen turned off on me. It came back on itself, so I accessed the lock screen correctly put my password in and thats where my problems started.
I put in the correct password it accepted it.
The screen then changed to my background screen colour.
Very quickly the screen went black and the apple logo came on (as if it was turning on)
I repeated the process again and I can not access my home screen or any of the apps. It repeats itself.
I've had all my apps crash on me ever since I downloaded the iOS 7.1.2 update.
On the lock screen I can still access the flash light and both cameras?
    What I have tried:
    Turning it on and off.
    Charging it.
    Plugging it into iTunes.
Reset where I hold the lock and home button.
    Nothing works.
Its a 32gb Ipod touch 5th gen with about 6gb of storaged unused.
I haven't dropped it or done anything unusual.
At the time it crashed I was playing on Farmville 2 app. This app crashes alot could it have something to do with it?
Please someone help me, I've googled it and can't find any problem like mine on here!
I've only had it 7 months.
    Thanks,
    Nadia

    Then do this:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
