Ipod Touch January Update

I bought the January Update about a month ago, and I haven"t gotten it on my touch yet. Is there anyway I can resell it back to Apple for the 19.99 store credits?

i don't believe you can "resell" it back to Apple. what you can do though is go onto your account on itunes and look at your purchase history and locate when you purchased it. from there you can click on the report a problem link and fill out the online form. from there you can let them know that you paid for it and didn't receive it and want to download it again or you can tell them that you want a refund. i was charged twice when i downloaded it and was refunded for one of the purchases. it took them about 3 days to put the money back into my account.

iPod touch working perfectly until I downloaded January Software Update this afternoon. Now the touch features don't work at all. Can't even switch it off. Very disappointed. Anyone out there experienced the same problem?

Never mind about my last question, I finally got it to work!!! YA!

3. Agree to the stuff
4. Then a message came up stating the instructions

Download problem with iPod Touch January software update

Hi, some problems with the software update. Please advise
- Ipod Touch user from australia
- went for holidays in malaysia for a while and purchased the software update via itunes australia
- The download did not start but i was charged $25AUD
- Returned to australia, attempted the download again but failed because itunes stated that the update has already been downloaded.
- Attempted to update the iPod Touch by clicking on "Check for Update" but software has already been updated to the current version (1.1.3).
- The new applications did not appear on iPod Touch.

Do you manually manage your music?
iTunes has to sync to unlock the January software, manually manage music has to be deselected.
Make sure your content on your ipod is backed up before sync.

That is not supported by Apple. If you are getting a network timeout error, disabling the computer's security software usuallys resolves that error.

If you have a 1G (first generation) iPod touch then it can only go to iOS 3.1.3. To identify yours:

If you need a higher iOS, you will have to get a newer model iPod.

I'm working in West Africa, and iTunes says it will take between 8 and 11 hours to download the OS (5.0.1). But I never have that long a stretch of uninterrupted electricity or internet. Every blink off and I have to start again at zero. Bit torrents are already an old technology. What gives? Basically, I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO UPDATE MY IPOD. And probably not my macbook.

IPOD touch 3g updated and then wiped out?? What can I do? It didn't warn me or anything that it would wipe my memory. Is there anyway to recover my lost data? I don't understand how it can do that, I have hundreds of dollars in music on it!!!

The backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music. If those are not in the iTunes library on which you did the update then they are gone. This has been the case for all updates and restores.
