IPv6 Connectivity limited ??
I am wondering whether anyone can help me with this one please ?
We have recently had massive problems with slow broadband speeds. We have home hub 1 so have had the hub for a while now and have never had a problem with speed until the last month or so.
What I have noticed is that our wireless network connection status says that:
Our IPv4 Connectivity is Internet and the IPv6 is limited..
This I can see is the problem because when IPv6 is limited the internet is very slow, ie videos are impossible to watch, however IPv6 normally says Local??
Any ideas how to change this back to local from limited ?? and any ideas why this connectivity keeps changing ?
Thanks
Unless I am mistaken, Home Hub 1 will only deal with IP version 4. Even the connection into the Internet is IP version 4. IP version 6, even though implemented by some Broadband companies such as in France, is not used by BT.
The DHCP on your Home Hub, this is what gives your computer its network address cannot even issue an IPv6 address.
It is most likely that this is something that is being generated by your PC. If for some reason you are running IPv6 within your network, the router into the internet will strip off the first part of the IP address so that it is now an IPv4 address.
If you believe it is IPv6 causing a problem, you can turn it off in the software on your PC. I presume it is XP or later as that was the first to offer IPv6 in addition to IPv4. I would be guessing where it is located on your machine but typically it will be in control panel and network.

How do I configure ISP native IPv6 connectivity?
Hi!
I'm a network engineer for SECOM, an ISP in Southeastern Colorado. We will be making native IPv6 connectivity available to residential subscribers soon, and I've been tasked with verifying support for our IPv6 platform on home router products.
I have an AirPort Extreme purchased new in November of '09 that is running version 7.5.1, which I believe is completely current.
Under the IPv6 tab in my Advanced settings, I have the following configuration:
IPv6 Mode: Router
Block incoming IPv6 connections: NOT checked
Configure IPv6: Manually
WAN IPv6 Address: fdXX:XXXX:XXXX:a000::2
WAN IPv6 Prefix Length: 64
IPv6 Default Route: fdXX:XXXX:XXXX:a000::1
LAN IPv6 Address: fdXX:XXXX:XXXX:c000::1
(As you can see, I'm using ULA's for testing purposes, and I've replaced the global bits with X's for security.)
The problem is, if I plug a host into one of the LAN ports and assign it an address from the same /64 subnet (e.g. fdXX:XXXX:XXXX:c000::2), the host can't ping the Airport's assigned LAN address.
It can ping:
* the Airport's link-local IPv6 address, and
* the Airport's IPv4 192.168.x.x address
Also (and I'm gratified that this part is working), my CE router can ping the Airport's WAN IPv6 address!
So my question is, is there something in the IPv6 configuration I'm misunderstanding? Has anyone else gotten native statically-configured IPv6 working on the AirPort Extreme?
Thanks very much in advance,
John E. / SECOM
P.S. - I have verified with a packet capture that the AirPort extreme is not responding at all for the configured LAN IPv6 address; i.e., the ICMPv6 neighbor solicitation goes unanswered.
P.P.S. - I have tried a Windows 7 host, a Windows XP host, and an IPv6-certified multitester from JDSU. All exhibit the same symptoms.I have follow your instruction to connect to my ISP as it shows the following message:
Serial connection established.
using interface sppp0
connect: sppp0 <--> /dev/ttya
local IP address xxxxxxxx
remote IP address 1.1.1.1
But when I ping www.sun.com, it shows:
www.sun.com unknown.
I start Mozilla and it said www.sun.com not found etc...
What has gone wrong?
Do I have to configure some files such as:
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname ?
or any other steps that can help me to connect to the internet?
Thanks... -
RV220W - Trying to setup an IPv6 connection
Hi,
My ISP provides IPv6 connectivity in the form of dual stack IPv4/IPv6 with DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation. Using a Cisco IOS-based router I managed to make such a connection by using as a template the Cisco IOS configuration file that my ISP has posted as an example in the following link:
http://ipv6.otenet.gr/current-config.txt
The main point on this configuration is a PPPoE connection with:
interface Dialer46
ipv6 address autoconfig default
ipv6 enable
ipv6 dhcp client pd LAN_DHCP
interface Vlan1
description local LAN
ipv6 address LAN_DHCP ::/64 eui-64
ipv6 enable
ipv6 nd other-config-flag
ipv6 dhcp server LAN_DHCP
I am now trying to configure an RV220W router on the same network but I cannot make it establish an IPv6 connection. Perhaps I am not setting it up correctly to make it work similarly to the Cisco IOS-based router. My settings are the following:
Networking -> IPv6 ->
IP Mode - IPv4 and IPv6 Dual-Stack
IPv6 WAN - DHCPv6 + Stateless Address Auto Configuration
IPv6 LAN - IPv6 Address: fec0::1, IPv6 Prefix Length: 64, DHCP Status: Enable DHCPv6 Server, DHCP Mode: Stateless, DNS Servers: Use DNS from ISP.
Router Advertisement: Status: Enable, Advertise Mode: Unsolicited Multicast
When I check the Summary page I see that although a have a proper working IPv4 connection, the IPv6 information is the following:
WAN (Internet) Information (IPv6)
Connection Time: 0 Days 00:07:10
Connection Type: Dynamic IP (DHCP)
Connection State: Connected
IP Address: fe80::5a8d:9ff:fee2:f9d3/64
Gateway: fe80::200:ff:fe00:0
DNS Servers:
which is of course wrong.
Could someone please help me to configure this router according the Cisco IOS configuration file I linked on the top in order to have a working IPv6 connection?So, I did a WAN packet capture to see that type of DHCPv6 packets the router sends to the ISP in order to obtain an IPv6 address and I saw that the router is sending DHCPv6 solicitation packets of type IA_NA i.e. for Identity Association for Non-temporary Address. However, most ISPs that offer a dual stack IP4/IPv6 service, they use DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation in which case the router is expected to send DHCPv6 solicitation packets of type IA_PD i.e. for Identity Association for Prefix Delegation.
Therefore, this router does not support DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation services with firmware 1.0.3.5 and as a result in practice it is only good for tunnel IPv6 connections.
Are there any plans to provide support for Prefix Delegation? -
Connection limits questions.
Hi all.
i got a crahed 5520 this week and was showing
<163>Nov 28 2011 11:34:45: %ASA-3-201013: Per-client connection limit exceeded -125/100
What the negative number tells ? i usually see same numbers like 100/100 with means the connection limited has reached.
also the box was showing
<163>Nov 28 2011 19:51:17: %ASA-3-210007: LU allocate xlate failed
<161>Nov 28 2011 17:50:44: %ASA-1-105005: (Primary) Lost Failover communications with mate on interface OUTSIDE
from the last 2 log messages its showing that the box was out of resources correct ?
Thanks.The negative numbers reading is caused by a bug. Please see "CSCtl23397 - ASA may log negative values for Per-client conn limit exceeded messg".
The 210007 message is indicating stateful failover is out of resources. See this explanation.
Overall it appears your boxes may be pushing the limit of their capabilities connection-wise. Some further investigation would be required to determine whether that was a one-time event or indicative of a need to upgrade (memory or device). -
How to Enable IPv6 Connection Permanently ?
How to Enable IPv6 Connection Permanently ?
I've searched Microsoft's websites for hours trying to enable IPv6 but no one seems to know.
I've enabled IPv6 from the registry but it disables after restart.
I think ESET Endpoint is disabling it.
I have got IPv6 enabled on the Router.
Please help.Hi,
Microsoft already provide a hotfix to enable IPV6, you can access to the link below to download it for test.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929852
Note: I made a test in Windows 8.1, these hotfix also works fine.

Sorry, but can't seem to locate how to do the following on FMS 3.5.
I have multiple applications, and need to set different connection limits for each of them - e.g., 10, 35, etc.
I'm only concerned with limiting RTMP connections, and not using Apache or http streaming.
Could somebody please shed some light?Assuming you're using FMIS.... In your main.asc:
application.maxConnections = 35;
application.onConnect = function(client){
if(application.clients.length >= application.maxConnections){
application.rejectConnection(client);
I have no idea how to limit connections on FMSS... I don't know if you can do it at the application level. -
Proxy Authorization with COS connection limits Issue
Any one having issues with connection limits (nsSizeLimit, nsTimeLimit, etc) be applied on connections that come from the proxy server with the proxy authorization control?
Example:
nsSizeLimit is set on user A to 2000, via a COS Pointer definition. If user A connects directly to the directory the nsSizeLimit of 2000 is used. If user A connects through the proxy, and the proxy connection to the directory is through a proxy authorization connection via ID admin1, the limit is not applied and the system default limit 1000 is applied.
If I over-ride the COS value for nsSizeLimit and say its 3000. If I use the proxy connection in this case the limit of 3000 is used. So it only fails for COS settings.
All the ACI's are being correctly applied via the proxy connection just not the connection limits. So basically I can't get the limits to work when I have a COS value being used via the proxy authorization user.
Any ideas on how I can get around this. I want to avoid having to enter in the different limits into entries. Also using the limits in the proxy would create to many connection handlers.
Thanks for any help you can give.
CoryHi,
I don't think that connection limits (Time, Size and Throughput) for User A can apply to operations that are using the Proxy Authorization for that user. Proxy Authz is a delegation of Authorization for the ACI, and does not apply to Connection specific limits.

Ludovic. -
Apache Web Server Connection Limitations
Hello,
Does anyone know what is the simultaneous connections limitations that the build in web server on Mac OS 10.4 has? I'm assuming if I would use OS X server there wouldn't be any? Thanks for any responses.
G5 Quad / PowerBook G4 17' 1.67ghz Mac OS X (10.4.6)So the build in Web Server that comes with the retail version of Tiger doesn't limit the amount of connections? I think I read in another posting that it was 10.
By default the apache config show 150. AFAIK the 10 limit is to afp connections not web connections.
It is easy enough to test turn on web sharing and ask 11 of your friends to connect to it. -

does anyone have any ideas on what is not working and why ?Looks like an AT&T PPPOE connection - the addresses of those change all of the time. Make sure that the "Client IPv4 address" is correct at the HE side.
You can update it with a URL, see http://fcartegnie.free.fr/articles/Hurricane%27s%20IPv6%20TunnelBroker%20Endpoin t%20ipv4%20address%20updater.html for details one endpoint updateing using just a URL. -
Ipv6 connection problem on flash
hi all
I am using as3 code for the connection to my flash server application(red5-written in java)
I am unable to connect my red5 application by using itS ipv6 address.
* added -Djava.net.preferIPv6Addresses=true jvm option
And at the client side(flash), as [1] says: I am trying to connect the application like :
* netConnection.connect("rtmp://[%d:%d:%d:%d:%d:%d:%d:%d]:1935/Red5Application");
I see on the red5 application logs that client application connects the application but after that disconnects immediately.
I filed a bug report about this issue. Have a look at it please [2]
I have been struggling to success the ipv6 connection on flash for a long time. But I have never get any serious answer.
If any of you had an experience about this, please let me know how did you achieve this.
Thanks

EA6300 - no ipv6 connection (ipv4 - ok)
Hi all,
I can't get the wired PC to have ipv6 connectivity throgh EA6300.
When I connect directly to the fiber modem i have both ipv4 & ipv6 connectivity.
Is this a known issue and will it be addressed in a firmware?
Additional data:
The PC is running Win 8.1 Pro.
The fiber modem is a HG865.
When I connect the PC directly to the modem trough PPPOE everything works.
I have both ipv4 & ipv6 connectivity - tested.
When I connect the PC trough EA6300 (EA6300 connected to the modem again trough PPPOE) I get only ipv4 connectivity.

AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!
This is driving me nuts too!! WIFI keeps dropping signal on my BBZ10 and also my wifes BBQ10. There are another 10 or so devices in the house with no issues what so ever.
To make things more irritating, it is completely random. We are both regularly connected to the home hub, yet cannot access online apps or online browsing. Then the z10 will sometimes drop connectivity and a message will appear in the hub saying 'Wifi connection limited' and then all of a sudden an hour or 2 later, it will re connect to the wifi.
tried all sorts, anyone else having a similar issue?OK.
I'd check, for sure. I've seen that EXACT problem before because YOU are using this device, you notice it more. A stationary laptop or iPad it might not be noticed or dropped because it is stationary. Likewise, if you have a couple of other devices streaming music or a movie via WiFi, your device may very well be limited due to bandwidth. That's common. Before, if you refuse to check, ok.
On your Z10, go to the WiFi screen > Saved Profiles.
Delete the saved profile for that router.
Reboot the Z10.
Setup the WiFi connection again.
That might help with a stronger connection. It will not help with dropped connections due to limitations of the router.

I am getting the following intermittent error "err connection limited reached for your ip address" since this morning. It must have something to do with changing to the SSL ports. This applies to this account and my sub-accounts.
How do I get it fixed?

ThailandHello paradom
From your description, your device is able to connet to your wifi, but can not properly communicated.
Delete your saved wifi network in your device, reboot your Z10 with battery pull for couple of minutes, restart your wifi as well. Then try to reconnect to that wifi again.
If still persist, this article might useful for you. Article ID: KB14477 Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Cheers and good luck.

Hp photosmart 6520 connection limited
my printer is not printing. It is telling me connection limited.... please help i restarted router still nothing. Restarted computer nothing.
Hello @jodyseth , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing connectivity issues. I would like to help!
I would recommend powering down your computer. Once the computer is down, select Setup on the front panel of the printer, and select Network. In the network menu, select Restore Network Defaults.
Once the defaults have been restored, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, and remove the power from your router for 60 seconds.
After 60 seconds, plug the router back in. Once the router has begun broadcasting, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
After the printer is on, run the wireless setup.
